Buyer beware!

Terrible product just when the warranty expires it starts having problems. And its something simple but not trouble shoot help. The microscope itself will not adjust up and down. Its like a stubborn screw or bolt that won't unscrew! So my microscope is stuck in one position and will not move up or down!

Good for Micro Soldering

I'd highly recommend the Linkmicro if you micro solder. I professionally solder on a regular basis and I have a lot of equipment and supplies all over my desk at all times. It's extremely helpful that it can be pushed out of my way or hover right over whatever I'm working on. It's also very good at its job. As you can see from the pictures. The light isn't great in my opinion because it causes a lot of glare but I've heard there's anti glare lights you can find somewhere online that might fix that issue. I'd say it's fairly sturdy. Swings around and adjusts with ease.

Light and Portable LCD Digital Microscope

The LCD digital microscope has been very useful for looking at electronic boards and fluidic channels. The set up was easy and intuitive. The microscope comes with an extra LED ring light with its own power cord. The brightness of the extra LED ring light is also adjustable. The arm height can be adjusted, the monitor can rotate, and the screen can be rotated and adjusted up and down. The LCD microscope works with a focus mechanism rather than focus and zoom mechanism compared to other stereoscopes. The advantage of this LCD microscope is that it is easy to assemble and transport.

Versatile Digital Microscope for Coins, Electronics, and Close-Up Work

This device can be very useful for anyone who needs hands-free magnification. It’s clearly aimed at coin inspection, and it does a good job with that. The still images and video it captures look sharp when the unit is stable, and the included remote is essential because touching the device directly will cause movement and blur.

There are a few design issues worth noting. The plastic collar that lets the barrel rotate smoothly is easy to shift out of place if the thumb screws are tightened too much. At higher magnifications any movement becomes a problem, so this should have been sturdier. The articulating arm isn’t very substantial either, so mounting it to a solid table edge with the C-clamp is important if you want clean, steady images. The translucent cap on the end of the barrel falls off very easily; a couple small dots of glue may be the only way to keep it in place. The software is basic and could use some polish, but it is usable.

On the positive side, the lighting options are good. The LEDs on the barrel work well at close distances, and the 56-LED ring light helps when the device is raised or zoomed out. The 10.1 inch IPS display is bright and easy to work with. When connected to my PC, the microscope was recognized instantly as a standard USB camera and worked in the Windows Camera app without needing any drivers.

Kids will likely find it fun for exploring leaves and other small objects, and adults will appreciate it for coins, electronics, or soldering work. Overall, it’s a capable tool with a few avoidable design flaws, but still functional for close-up inspection if you take the time to stabilize it properly.

Digital Microscope

Overall, this digital microscope works well for general usage. It's lightweight, easy to set up, and the magnifying performance is great.

The stability is a concern, though. The flex arm that comes with the box is not as secure, it's shaky, and sometimes it's annoying to adjust the height.

Nice large screen microscope, but can be a little unsteady

In my working life I used mechanical optical microscopes for working on delicate surface mount equipment. I had been looking for one for some time for my home lab, but they have been out of my budget. Saw this one and decided to give an electronic one a try. You can see from the photo, it came boxed nicely for shipping and everything arrived in good shape. Set up was easy and only took a few minutes. Using this one is a lot different than I am used to. Instead of being 'heads down' into the eyepieces, you can sit up straight and see around you. The articulating arm is both good and bad. If you have a large work area, you can position it where you need, but smaller work areas are more difficult and it interferes somewhat with my similar articulating lamp. Also, it is a bit unsteady. If you brush it or nudge it, it takes a bit (esp. at high magnification) for it to settle down. The large screen helps as you can stay back away a little more from it in order to try and keep from disturbing it. The focus is decent and the picture is good fidelity. Magnification is adjustable for your needs. The built in light on the microscope piece and the included ring light give as much light as you need for spot work, so I can leave my other light farther from the work area. You can adjust the level so it is not overpowering and gives even lighting. It will work for my PCB inspection/repair, but will take a little adjustment on my part. I would prefer a more stable positioning system though.

Perfect for inspecting our print and embroidery work

I ordered this digital microscope for our custom apparel shop to inspect prints and embroidery quality. We absolutely love it - no complaints at all. It's way more powerful than we even need for checking thread tension and print details, but the extra magnification comes in handy for other things we are curious about.

The 10.1-inch screen is large and clear, making it easy to see fine details without squinting. Setup took about five minutes - just clamp the flexible arm to the workbench and plug it in. The arm holds the microscope steady while we examine embroidery stitching or check DTF transfers for defects. The 260X magnification shows individual thread fibers and ink dots clearly.

The dual lighting system works great. The built-in LEDs plus the 56-LED ring light eliminate shadows completely, so we can see every detail of the embroidery or print surface. We use it to check for thread breaks, backing issues, and print alignment problems that are hard to spot with the naked eye.

The remote control lets us take photos of problem areas to show customers or document quality issues. Being able to connect it to our computer via USB is handy for saving inspection photos. This has become an essential quality control tool in our shop. It catches problems before items go out to customers.

Great magnification with clear image

I am finding this to be a useful and versatile tool for looking at small parts, soldering, and cleaning up 3d prints. It was very easy to set up and I had it working in just a couple minutes. The microscope attaches to an adjustable boom arm that holds it steadily in place. The microscope comes with a built in light, plus a separate light ring that can attach to the end of the lens assembly. I am very happy with the image quality of the 1020x780 screen resolution. The image is bright and clear, with good color representation. The microscope has an impressive magnification. I can get VERY close to an object, adjust the focus, and get a good clear image. OR, I can keep the lens farther away for a less significant magnification for less fine work.

I only have a couple complaints, and they are minor. First is that the ring that holds the microscope to the stand rotates a little bit so that the lens and screen are not parallel to the surface. Second is that the boom arm is a little difficult to adjust–I have to loosen the elbow and wrist tension screws to position the lens, then then hold it in place while tightening.

Overall this is an easy and useful tools for my project space.

Good Microscope and Screen, but mediocre mounting arm.

Spend quite a bit of time doing fine electrical repairs, soldering, etc. and my eyes aren't the greatest anymore. I have a very expensive commercial version at work but have been getting by with a magnifying glass on articulating arm at home for home/hoppy use. Found this option and it's a very affordable price point for how well it works. The screen is very clear and sharp, has various controls, and ability to even record videos via microSD card you can install. The zoom magnification is strong with easy-to-use focus ring. Screen size is about perfect, not to big, but large enough for easy viewing.

As to cons, it would have to be the whole articulating arm and how it mounts to the microscope. The clamp itself works ok, although it could be a little beefier and not 100% on how well it will hold up. The bigger issue is that the 3-point screw mounting system they use to hold the microscope into place at the end of the arm is very poor. You have to get just the right amount of tension to hold it still, but if you go too far, it begins to force the plastic slip ring that sits between mount and microscope out of place and the whole thing becomes loose again. I spend way to-much time messing with it to try and get it just right. Way more effort required then should be reasonable for such a system. I'll probably look into some way to modify the mounting system or find alternative arm all-together.

Easy Assembly, Adjustable Height, Adjustable Magnification, A Few Quirks

I was full-on excited about this digital microscope with 10 inch screen. It arrived and I had it setup in minutes. Assembly was easy and the instructions had me in operation quickly. There is a remote control for certain operations, but some controls can only be operated on the microscope itself. A light is built into the microscope, plus a separate light can be attached. Brightness of both lights can be adjusted. There are a lot of features for the price.

The microscope can be raised up or down and angled on its pantograph arm. To see an entire coin, the arm is raised and the magnification is lowered. To inspect the coin closer, the arm is lowered and the magnification increased. Operation is straightforward.

In my photos you can see the scope setup at different heights, looking at an item below. I added insets to the photos taken by the microscope itself. All in all, plenty impressive.

I got frustrated with the microscope a few times. First, a pantograph arm is never steady so every time I touched a button I had to wait for the microscope to stabilize. Focusing the microscope required touching it, and that again caused jostling. I thought I had a thing focused but when the microscope settled I had to try again. I was also frustrated byt the connection between the microscope and pantograph arm because it would loosen when I grabbed the microscope to reposition it. Maybe I'm heavy handed. And finally, in order to snap an image, video recording must be underway. That meant pressing a button to start recording video, wait for the microscope to stabilize, then snap the photo I want, then turn video recording off and wait again for the microscope to stabilize.

In the end, I enjoy the microscope. The large screen is terrific. Videos and photos are good quality. The ability to raise the microscope high above the table is great functionality that gives the ability to observe a wide range of things. I plan to keep using the microscope and hope to get better at the things I mentioned. It will be worth the effort.

Cool Digital Magnifier Convenient and Easy to Use with Lots of Features!

Very cool digital 'microscope' that is dead easy to use and takes photos/videos. This is exactly what I had hoped it would be - a simple device to magnify small items and writing that are hard for me to see. This is a dream for me because I have terrible eyesight and I like to work with small things like N-Gauge trains.

For starters, this is a 10" LCD monitor with a magnifier built-in that mounts to an adjustable spring-loaded arm, like a desk lamp. The arm has a clamp that attaches to a desk or other surface. This makes it very convenient to mount on my desk and swing it out of the way and folded up when I don't need it. The monitor has a USB power connection and comes with an adapter and power cable. It also comes with a remote control (batteries not included) and has a memory-card slot (also user-provided). Most, if not all, functions can be accessed via the buttons on the front of the LCD screen, but the remote is very convenient. I really like that the magnifier has built-in LEDs to illuminate the subject whenever it's turned on. Mine also came with an auxiliary LED circle light that can clamp onto the lens assembly, but it is too bright for my purposes and not necessary for good viewing. I don't know what the total magnification is, but there are three levels - the basic level, and 2X and 4X of that. The camera can go up to 12MP resolution still pictures, and 1080FHD (1920X1080) and the image quality on the screen is very good when properly focused. I haven't taken any pictures yet - still waiting on the memory card - but I am already a big fan of this device. It does everything I need and more. My only gripes are the lack of batteries and a basic memory card - and the lack of information about how to use the device in the instructions. It's not a hard device to figure out, but figure it out you must.

Overall, this is a fair value at the coupon price of $99. It's lightweight plastic, but the design and construction are good, and I love the fact I don't need to load an app on my phone. Hallelujah! Great for coin and stamp collectors, model makers and hobbyists of all kinds. Would make a great gift.

Incredible Images - Affordable Price

I was very surprised at the great job of magnifying this digital microscope delivered. It arrived well packaged. The instructions are very, very vague. There are no images shoeing what goes where, but if you've assembled any other clamp on devices you probably have the ability to assemble this. You can add a micro SD card so you can record videos and take pictures of your work. On the back of the monitor is the power connection and the SD card slot. The camera is powered by a USB power supply that is included. It features up to a 4x zoom and to focus you turn the focus ring on the camera, much like many cameras. The screen is 10" and the display is really great. You can see the detail in the coin and the ESP32 board. If you do any work on smaller items this digital microscope will serve you well. There is also included a light ring that is powered by 120v. I installed it but it is really bright and my photos looked better not using it in the photos. I believe the ring light would be great for some darker or items with parts deeper inside. If you have been looking for a digital microscope but thiought they were too expensive, this will change your mind.

LINKMICRO LM109A 10.1'' LCD Digital Microscope with Screen: Absolutely Needed This - Much Potential

This LINKMICRO LM109A 10.1'' LCD Digital Microscope with Screen is Fantastic and worked great right out of the box. You don't need a Phd to figure how to set it up and the instructions for once is in very clear English. Even though setup is easy, you will want to read the instructions for all the controls so that you can master them. The image quality on this digital microscope is fantastic and between the manual zoom and the digital zoom you can really zoom in and focus on what you need to see. I used an old penny I've had just laying on my catch-all dresser and you can see how clear and bright the picture quality is. I've never noticed when viewing with my eyes the back of a penny, the mint engraver FG initials are there. It is a bit confusing why you have to be taking a video in order to snap a picture - you should be able to take a picture without having to be in active video mode first. This has a lot of potential from inspecting craft pieces for errors or to fine tune your work, to electronic boards and circuts (look how much smaller resistors, transistors, scr's and chips are these days - I can't even read the color band rating on resistors on most boards now because they are soooo small. Want to check the final honed edge on a custom made knife you just bought or made yourself? You need this digital microscope. Ever think about creating a written message so small that no one can read it with their eyes alone? Do you have your own machine shop and want to really see right down to the metal grain? I definitely recommend getting one of these before they are gone - and a very fair great price too.

Not what I expected

The instructions are useless and there litterly isn't 1 video anywhere showing how to set this up. Only unboxing And reviews.

Most of it is plastic especially what I paid for.

Detail is grainy and a bit pixalated. I purchased 2 of these in case 1 breaks. Rambunctious kitties like knocking things...

It’s works great

I purchased this microscope to hunt for water bears (Tardigrades) and it works great. I usually look in Petri dishes and have found and took photos and videos. The large screen makes it easy to hunt in a Petri dish. I like the lit slide viewer if I get lucky enough to move one to a slide. For the price, it’s a great microscope and camera.

Almost Perfect

I'm using this for images of coins. My goal is to get a full image of the coin, while also having the capability to zoom in on finer details. With a few tweaks this could be perfect for my needs, but it does fall a bit short.

My biggest gripe is that Picture mode does not match the field of view on the screen. This is advertised as being able to take a full picture of a silver dollar. After some trial and error, it certainly does that but annoyingly the screen makes it appear that part of the coin will be cut off. My photos demonstrate this. In the first picture, the coin is not fully within the image on the screen. In photo two, which is what is captured by the device, the full coin is in the field of view. This makes it difficult to get a perfect shot without switching to Review mode and double-checking.

The user interface is certainly clunky. You cannot do zoom adjustments in Picture mode. You first need to switch to video mode, change the zoom, then switch back to camera mode.

Both issues above can probably be fixed with a firmware update, but I doubt we'll see that given this is a generic device.

The instructions are absolutely horrible, but I do think setup is self-explanatory with some patience and trial and error.

On to the positives. Screen image quality is fantastic. The magnification is perfect for my needs (the lens is fixed, but up to 4x zoom using the remote). The remote works well and I was impressed with the quality of the base and mount. It is very easy to get into focus and the lighting options work great (one within the lens frame, two on the base).

Having said all that, I'm not 100% positive I'm going to keep this. The field of view differences between Picture mode and Review mode are a big annoyance. I don't know if any other options in this price range (~$100) will be any different, so I'm trying the Hayve Microscope Arm Stand that will allow me to place the unit higher than the 10" arm attached to the unit's base. Hopefully this will allow me to get a full view of the coin in Camera mode and I no longer have to worry whether or not I aligned properly by flipping to Review mode. I'll update my review with my results.

Fun for science and for soldering.

Big fingers and old eyes don't go well together when soldering tiny pieces. This magnifier takes care of the old eyes problem and makes the job a little bit easier.

The family enjoyed putting flowers, hairs, and other things under the lens. The screen is big enough for everyone to see at the same time.

Easy assembly and usage.

Digital microphone with a screen

So this is a pretty cool little digital microphone it runs on power from a USB port, it allows you to export your video on USB or flash drive it comes with a slide projector with various sample slides, it also comes with little spotlights you can adjust which is perfect for if you're working on a which is perfect for if you're working on a soldering electronics or fixing jewelry or just analyzing jewelry up close.

The lights are bright it has a variation of different lights and overall this is a pretty cool little device. It even comes up a remote control and it even comes with a little memory card to start you off with. You can take videos or you can just take photos using the buttons on the screen or the buttons on the remote.

Great Image Quality & Depth of Field! Sloppy Construction

It's kind of a mixed bag on this microscope but first I'll list the impressive things about this device. I have a smaller digital microscope and expected the image quality to be similar but this one is top notch. Edge to edge sharpness on the 10" screen was surprisingly good as was the depth of field. The scope can also take photos and videos and when it's removed from the stand, I could aim the camera and focus on any nearby or distant object.

The amount of variables built-in related to adjusting lighting, sharpness, image quality and screen settings is impressive. This device could easily be used to create educational photos and videos. It also comes with a bottom lighted slide holder, flash drive, several prepared slides and hardware for holding down slides. The base includes two lights and the column has lights surrounding the lens so objects were always well lit from all sides.

I was less impressed with the quality of construction and corners were cut in this area. The camera and monitor section must be inserted into the base support through an aluminum ring with a spacer and then I had to tighten two metal set screws to keep it all stable. It's a sloppy arrangement and the given the optical quality of the microscope, it feels more like kid's toy quality. The combined assembly then moves up/down a geared focus column using a wheeled knob. But, if I let go of the wheel at the top of the column, the weight and lack of friction causes the camera to quickly roll back down to the bottom. An additional set screw has been added to prevent this from happening but improved construction tolerances and quality is a much better solution.

Bottom Line: Quality images, 12MP pictures and 1080P videos, multiple viewing settings, clear images edge to edge on the large 10" screen. The sloppy construction isn't a deal breaker but it is annoying. It seems like it wouldn't take much to improve the build quality and I'll be adding shims and a few mods to improve the fit.

Fantastic Microscope for the price

I bought this digital microscope for soldering PCBs. I'm very glad I did.

Pictures are going to speak louder than words here. The image quality on this microscope is gorgeous. The screen is excellent and there is good clearance between the stage and objective lens to do some hands on work. If you need to quickly drill down to have a closer look, there is a 2x and 4x digital zoom that will allow you to do that without adjusting the height of the objective lens. Very, very handy.

The stage lights are good and bright and the attached dongle or remote allows you to easily adjust the brightness. Getting just the right lighting is quite easy here. There is also a light around the objective lens that can be controlled with dial on the front of the screen. Again, super handy.

The menu button on the remote is context sensitive so if you are in video mode, it will bring up the video settings, picture mode, picture settings. There are lots of options to play with.

The one issue I do have with this scope is that the microSD card is a bear to get in or out. It's located on the back of the screen and is one of those that you need to push in for it to pop up. However there is no depression in the frame to allow you to do this. I use a small flathead driver to push it down and even then there is very little to grab on to when trying to pull the card out. I think I would pay a few extra bucks to have it mounted on the side or better yet, on the front with a decent depression in the case for big man fingers.

Overall this scope just spectacular. You won't be disappointed.

Good hobby microscope

Not pro, but not a toy either. I have one of those little ones with a 4" screen that cost more than half of this one. This is easily worth the extra money. The large screen and the remote offer tons of options. With the goosenecks and the ring light around the lens there is plenty of illumination. Depth of field is always a problem for microscopes, but with the scope at the top of the stand it is possible to comfortably solder thicker wires and connectors.

The user interface works well enough, but when you turn it on, it always starts in video mode. There is quite a bit of lag in the screen update, so focusing requires some patience, but is doable. There are dedicated buttons on the remote that will be seldom used, but the mode button frequently used is very small and requires cycling to the mode you want. There is also a "default" button that wipes out all your settings WITHOUT any confirmation. I think that button is going to meet Mr. hobby knife soon.

Be aware that the "what will you get" list in the product description is accurate, while the rest of the synopsis is not-there is no collection items and no hold downs for the slide stage. The base clips are there, but they must be removed to use the stage. The stand-off is pretty short, making a work piece uncomfortably close to the gear stand. The microSD card is not particularly accessible or easy to manipulate, so if you expect to move lots of images/vids to your computer be prepared to be patient with the process.

Be sure to go through the settings to get things the way you want them. In particular, this defaults to 50hz line frequency, rather than the 60hz for the US. The result will be very annoying waves throughout your screen if you don't change it.

The rod in the image is 2mm, and the banana plug in the background is a standard 4mm. The scope was at the top of the stand for the image.

A really nice tool to have. Fills the gap between a real microscope and a magnifying glass, and has recording capabilities that neither of those offer. Not for a fulltime workshop, but much better than the over-priced tools offered for kids and home education.
