This is a wonderful compilation of Christmas stories from the Little House series. It’s not the thickest book, but the front cover is padded and there are nine chapters about various Christmases Laura had. Each section begins with a short description of where the family was living and what life was like at the moment. The stories are so sweet and are a good reminder for kids today to be grateful for what they receive, as they read or hear about Laura’s excitement to receive the smallest gifts, such as a penny or a piece of candy. It’s also an interesting peek into history and how hard and different life was back then. This book is a perfect gift for families with children around ages 4-12 (whether they are familiar with the series or not), and it would be a lovely Christmas tradition to read this aloud every December.

I have loved reading Laura's Christmas stories to my children this holiday season. I hope that it will become an annual tradition. The book is great hardback quality with glossy pages and colored illustrations. It includes the Christmas chapters from each book in the Little House series.
