hi

Obviously a return>restock. Cone Damaged by a wad of bubble wrap

Well I was shipped a damaged, returned, unit. Satellites bags were in the box, just not actually around the speaker.

And I will be charged, and required to take an uber to some bodega with a locker.

the quality and true 2.0 misconfigured crossover issues pointed out ad nauseum are true

Jack broke off! Return window closed so now all I have is bricked speakers. Do not buy.

Sound was good BUT: too many wires, too easily tangled and wouldn't it be nice if manufacturers would use some other color other than BLACK for electronics?? If you're going to have so many snaky wires, at least use different colors so that the consumer knows what is attached to what. Main issue: the jack that goes into my computer BROKE off. Don't know where it is; it's not in the computer and I don't see it anywhere but when I couldn't figure out why there was no sound coming out of the speaker and tried everything else I finally looked at the jack and realized that it was broken. My return window closed so here I am with bricked speakers and no other choice but to buy a new set -- NOT this one because clearly the jacks are not secure. #Disappointed

Pretty bass heavy for what they are!!

Very good for the price. Subwoofer bangs also the satellite speakers or tweeters are very good. Evenly balanced sound all around. Good for gaming, or watching movies, or just listening to music. Logitech did their thing with these.

5 stars for me as a music head!!

Great bang for your buck!

Got these on a deal for less than $50! They have great sound and pretty decent bass. Not too big either can fit on a small setup like mine. Very light, slick look and easy to setup on the computer.

Best speakers for gaming and documentaries

I've had these speakers before like less than 10 years ago but I know for a fact it was slightly different than this one, and I'm just glad to have a speaker set like this again, the subwoofer puts out some bass and the volume works like intended.

Great addition to my Smart TV.

Great addition to my living room TV. The sound is good and clean. My tv lacked bass and this speakers have a lot of that! My only con is perhaps that there is no separate bass/volume control but the balance is quite nice and not overwhelming. Tip for retrogamers, it comes with RCA connectors, 2 HDMIs and a 3.5 imput jack And a USB port that works to control downloaded games on the TV.

Good for the price

It sounds good for a set of computer speakers. For a single user watching movies or music videos, it has a good blend of treble, mid, and bass. The bass is not a heavy, thumping bass like you'd want for dubstep or house music. It just compliments the mids and highs without standing out. There is no included (or downloadable) software for mixing. For that, you'll have to rely on whatever your computer has.

Setup is a *little* confusing because the instructions are just IKEA-style graphics printed on one flap of the box (see photo). There is no included documentation other than the usual safety guidelines and legal text.

The parts are wired as follows:

The cables coming from each speaker share one 1/8" jack that plugs into the subwoofer.

The subwoofer plugs into the wall for power.

The on/off/volume fob has two cables. One is hard-wired into the subwoofer. The other plugs into the computer's 1/8" audio input jack.

I didn't measure the lengths of the cables, but my computer is about 5 feet from the monitor and the cables were just long enough to clip along the bottom of the desk and be out of the way.

Be VERY careful; when Unpacking and Putting Sub-Woofer in Place! Exposed Speaker Hidden Underneath..

This model replaced a older version of this same System I had for some time.... Unfortunately Logitech carried over the same cost cutting where the Volume - on/off Control is permanently wired to the Sub Woofer... so if you must feed this wired Control through a desk or bookcase cutout above your desk like mine, it can be a bear to route the speakers and control peripheral .... be aware of this before purchasing.

Also, I just discovered a nickel size dent in the Speaker cone that is mounted underneath the Sub-Woofer Box... one I had not noticed before. Unsure if I accidently dented it or it came from the factory...

Multiple attempts with various sticky tapes pulled most of the dent out ... not perfect... but it should work.

This speaker has NO Grill protection, so when handling, be well aware of this vulnerability.... its easily damaged.

Logitech Speakers 🔥

Speakers fit perfectly in my dorm room. Obviously depending on the song you play and how loud it is they’ll be some popping in the speakers but it’s not often that it happens and if it does just slightly turn it down and it’s gone. Bass sounds amazing and the controller is very easy to use. If you have an Apple iPhone go ahead and buy yourself a 2pack of adapters for whatever cord your phone uses if you want to play music through your phone.

good sound for budget speakers

for desktop speakers, these little things fill a family room with better than average sound. the reason i didnt give a 5 star is the cables are a pain and the volume control attachment makes cable management a nightmare.

Angela

Good sound.

Easy to install and great sound.

Very nice speakers highly recommended

They dont crackle at higher volumes and barely get distorted. Logitech really hit the mark with this one line. Its been available for a long time and lets hope they dont discontinue these because this is my 2nd set and only because i gave my first one away. They dont take alot of space on the desk and can easily be turned off with the button

Bang For The Buck! With Amazing Sound

I uploaded a video as well to show the sound quality but this by far is one of the best surround sounds i have ever had. So I owned one this same one for about 4 years and my husband loved it so much we bought a new one for him which is the one im doing this newer review for. After 4 yrs though never had one issue with this. It has even an amazing bass sound and for the price that floored me cause I looked at more expensive systems and none sounded as good as this one to me. I plan to purchase another one soon for my tv as well, and i might even put this on a gifting list come the holidays its that good. It vibrates my wood floor under my feet when i have the bass type songs on and movies are amazing on netflix on my pc.

Broke after 4 months.

Had it for 4 months. Power button broke and it won’t stay pressed in. Would get one more star if it didn’t break so fast.

The absolute best sound system for the price.

Pros: Setup is easy and sound is great. The amount of bass coming off this small 50W sub is insane.

Cons: Distorts at high volume. Best for movies and near-field listening.

Personally I hate the fact that there is a volume controller. I use this set up with a computer and having to mess with the volume in 2 places is not something I want to have to do. Other then that this is the best speaker set under 50 and almost under 100. This set is only out matched by Logitech's own THX version of this set, the Z625 set. This is a must by for anyone wanting good computer speakers for a good price.

For $25, excellent value.

I bought these because I had a $40 gift card and just wanted something better than monitor speakers on the cheap. These seemed like the best value decision. I'm not at all disappointed for the price.

For gaming at reasonable volumes, these are perfect for me. They handle sporadic sounds with ease. The base is probably the most impressive thing.

For music, they are fine. Just don't expect to LOUDLY fill a room without audio degradation. For a little party, they would be great (background music volumes). However, whenever you crank them up there is a noticeable frequency limitation. As in, with less going on they are much louder compared to when the music gets eventful.

Either way, be sure you have a full range EQ program handy. Right out of the box, it is very muffled and base-heavy overall. With some tweaking, it will sound way better.

The little power/volume/headphone jack remote thingy is pretty cool. My keyboard controls the volume so personally I just set the volume where I wanted it on this remote and haven't touched it since. But I suppose having this would be better than having to deal with the windows volume control so thumbs up.

Just keep in mind that these are $25..you aren't going to be blown away by anything other than the value for money. If these were $100 I would be furious. If these were $50 I would probably still keep them.

Simply WOW!! + Update. Please updated review FIRST...

At first, I purchased a Bose Companion 2 Series III Multimedia Speakers hoping to get all the great sound associated with the name Bose. But I wasn't satisfied. There was something missing. Wait, don't get me wrong, the speakers I returned produced very nice crisp sounds, but that about all it did. If you're looking for a theater type of sounds with the base, and all the shebang, surprisingly, a more affordable/cheaper speaker, the Logitech z313 will provide you with it. WOW!!. I truly did not expect to get that type of sound out of something that cost $25. Yet, here we are. I'm not sure what some of the reviews gave it a 1 star, but I'd given it a 20 stars if I could. I tried to crank the sound all the way up to 100, but it was too loud. I do not want my neighbor to come knocking on my door. I will continue to use it on a daily basis since today is my very first day playing with it, and will update this review progressively.

UPDATE (Wednesday January 22nd, 2020)

I needed to write an update after the one I left above to let the futur buyers know a very important detail about the speaker system, I wasn't aware of myself at time of purchase: they do NOT work with windows 10.

Somehow, by some sort of luck, when I first hooked it up to my new Windows computer, which happened to have a Windows 10 OS, it worked. No problem. Then I think there was an OS upgrade, and my speakers stopped working. For quite a while too. I even packed it, ready for a return. Then I decided to check my PC sound settings, and by some luck, I made it work. Then, there was ANOTHER OS update. And of course, the speakers are not working at the present moment. I looked for a driver online, and that's when I saw that this particular set of speakers has this issue. It's great when it works, but do you really want to face this issue EACH TIME you do a Windows update? For that reason, I'm taking 4 of my stars back, and changing my rating to just 1 star.

Embarassing fit, adequate noise.

All I have to say is wow. The picture I have uploaded is of the top of the cabinet for the subwoofer/power unit. If you can't see it... The top panel is so poorly fitted that there is a tapered gap on the front and rear. If you are someone that doesn't care about cosmetics on a sound system, more power to you.

As far as the set up, if instructions were included I could not find them. I spent a second scratching my head as to what order the plugs went in because they are all keyed alike and on some systems you plug the volume control in the speakers, and on some you plug into the tower, and on some you plug into the source. In this case the volume control goes to source, the speakers plug into tower.

It's been a long walk but now to the sound. The sound is OK for the price. I think the low end is a little bit agressive for most things, and the sound is a scosch "muddy" for my taste but considering the price point, I would call it acceptable. The problem I find though is the relative low volume. I have my desktop turned to maximum, I have the unit turned to maximum, and I am in a 15 x 15 room, about 6 feet from the satelites and about 7 feet from the sub. The room is tile throughout and cement walls with two windows one of which is open one of which has curtains closed on it. All three components are actually at ear level with no obstructions of any kind. On other set ups this would probably be ear piercing loud, not necessarily the best sound quality but would at least make you want to turn it down. For this unit, it's "adequate".

I think if you just want sound out of your computer and don't want to spend $30, you won't really have complaints. If you need loud, if you need good fit and finish, then you might want to seek another solution.

Edit: I have edited my review from 3 to 4 stars after spending more time with the speakers. I moved them into a smaller room, and sat closer to them. I also put the subwoofer on the floor. With these adjustments, the sound output is significantly louder overall (really a no brainer sitting closer to the speakers). I also discovered that changing the source SIGNIFICANTLY alters the quality of the sound output. There are some incredible bass tracks that sound awful on this set up, while some others that were produced better sound pretty good and all the mud is gone. I doubt that an audiophile is going to be pleased but honestly these are a solid $30 deal that are really only marred by the hilariously bad fit and finish as you can see in the photo which I have posted.

D

Do not know why they are requiring a pe…

Good for $25. Don't buy for $50.

When I bought these I bought on sale for $25. They are not worth $50. The reason they do not get a five out of five is that the tip-ring-sleeve is not well enough made at the connector. I think that over a short period of time it will need to be replaced. I suspect that there will be an internal-decapitation of the wires within the tip. There is nothing holding back from making a sharp angle at the connector.

The sound is quite good. There are certainly better speaker systems out there for four times as much, but $25, its a very good sound.

Must buy

Great buy for the price . I’m not sure if you can hear it through the video but the range it projects is great

Do not last.

I just bought these 2 months ago and one of the speakers went out; I have gone through two of this type of speaker with the exact same issue. I will not be ordering from this manufacturer again.

Great sound.

Excellent sound for my work office. Very pleased

Low Volume Issues!? Read for insta-fix!

Low Volume Issues!? Read below for insta-fix!

They are great speakers, however, they did not come with any instructions or pictures... I know what you may be thinking, "they are just speakers... Plug them in and listen" :) well I missed the Speaker Output on the rear of the subwoofer and instead plugged them into the headphone jack on the little corded remote. I was devastated when I could barely hear a song playing. I messed with Realtek settings and other various audio controls on my PC with little-to-no improvement.

I had given up and was unplugging everything to send back(Let's be real... I was pissed!) This would've been the first Logitech item I had an issue with. Then I saw 'Speaker Output' there on the back of the subwoofer, I plugged it all back together and it was GLORIOUS!

Boulder Geek.

Very happy with them.

I've had these for a few months now, using them daily, my setup:

- MacBook Pro connected through hdmi and usb to this monitor:

- USB dongle connected to the monitor:

- Microphone connected to dongle:

- Speakers & Microphone connected to dongle permanently

- Switch (for on/off) very close to the keyboard

- wireless keyboard (microsoft)

- Subwoofer and Speakers both on IKEA standing desk (so when I raise or lower, the speakers / subwoffer stay in place)

- all in a 10x13 office with vaulted ceiling

Pros:

- Having the volume as a separate physical dongle is awesome to me, my favorite feature for sure. controlling the volume without having to use the computer to use it is a great thing.

- They look good and the subwoffer is small enough so that it looks good on top of the desk

- power on/off very useful as well

- they sound ok

Cons:

- they are not the best quality-of-music speakers, don't listen to jazz on these trying to decipher all the subtle sounds, its not for that.

- they collect dust like magnets!

Conclusion:

- Im happy with them and are more than enough for a home office environment.

z313 Great speakers

This is a great speaker system to have in your bedroom! ignore the other negative reviews. you are only paying 35$ for this great system.

whatever I was watching on my laptop whether it was Commentaries, movies, music videos...they all sounded very clear with excellent depth.

Logitech is great brand that I trust and with the price that was easy on my pockets.

though if you're willing to spend more...

I recommend the Bose companion series

for 100$ you can get the bose companion 2. it comes with 2 speakers and NO SUBWOOFER...so take than in mind. I haven't heard the system but i'm sure it sounds great without as much bass this logitech system can provide. though the bose speakers seem to be heavy and well built.

Now if you're willing to spend for desktop speakers in the 200$+ range. I really recommend Bose companion 3

I have owned the bose companion 3 for a while and it is amazing! it is a 2.1 speaker system just like this 35$ logitech. but it is built very well... metal and wood. the subwoofer is impressive (vibrates my bedroom walls) and can get really loud (can fill for a small party)

The downside is it is 240$. I moved to another country in a hurry and I left the bose companion with a good friend of mine.

Since I moved I've been planning to buy the bose companion 3 again but I bought this instead because I didn't need a system as powerful as the bose.

I live in a shared house and too much noise will bother the other people in the house. Don't get me wrong, these are still loud and you can turn it up to the point that you will bother other people in your house.

it is more than enough for filling a room with sound and boomy bass.

So this is an excellent speaker considering it's price!

Great depth and quality for the price!

I was very surprised at the quality of sound for the price I paid. Please check out my video for more.

Logitech Z313 vs. X-230 vs. X-240 -- The Little Speakers That Could.

Well, Logitech definitely tried to go for clarity with these speakers. But...

--------------------------

Z313: Treble/highs dominant - can sound flatter/definitely not as much depth compared to X-230. Relies too much on the subwoofer for bass (looks like they took some of the qualities of the X-230 and X-240, and this speaker was born)

X-230: Bass dominant - Best surround sound feel/for parties/etc. (kind of odd how a really old model is still more impressive)

X-240: Just overall flat - felt really muffled - least impressive.

--------------------------

The Z313 is easily better than the disappointing X-240 (with the gimmick iPod cradle), but I still feel the X-230 set the bar in this price range/2.1 speakers.

Unlike the X-230, there is no option to turn the speakers into a wall mount. The X-230 was just quite impressive for its category. There is no knob to control the bass either (only a volume control on the remote). The subwoofer is similar to the X-240 with it being exposed, which I don't necessarily like. I also wish the remote could be detached instead of being pre-wired to the subwoofer.

I was surprised how light and small the Z313 speakers were; it does look pretty good, but it did feel somewhat cheaper to me because of those factors. However, despite having low expectations from a small set of speakers, I was somewhat impressed because I did, at least, still feel some surround sound -- unlike the X-240. The subwoofer is also slightly smaller in size than the X-230. When compared to the X-230, however, the sound does not feel as dynamic because the X-230 still contains more speaker drivers + bass. I asked for an opinion from two other people and they both agreed the X-230 sounded richer and the Z313 was definitely more flatter because of the high treble.

Pros:

- For treble lovers. (if you're looking for more depth/bass, stick with the X-230)

- Small and really light (makes you wonder if there's anything in there?!)

- Design looks pretty good/perfect for a small desk and doesn't take too much space.

- Pretty good surround sound for its size.

Cons:

- No physical knob to control the bass.

- The speakers itself really lack bass (relies all on the subwoofer).

- Not as much depth/surround sound as the X-230

- Ugh, wires... remote is pre-wired to the subwoofer and has two wires(going to the swoofer/speakers), and is somewhat cheap.

I actually give it a 3 or a 3 1/2 Stars for me. I definitely recommend this more than the X-240, but if you own the X-230 or can get a hold of one -- and you don't mind the bass -- then I'd stick with the X-230 instead. WITHOUT A DOUBT, the X-230 is a lot better. Basically, if you're not a big fan of bass and prefer treble/highs more, then these speakers are for you.
