Will not stay connected to WiFi!!!

I am on my third one of these and none of them will stay connected to internet. It has a full signal as my router is only a few feet away from the camera but it doesn’t seem to matter. I even put an WiFi extender about three inches away from the camera It refuses to stay connected! Truly awful!

Why does my camera look used

I’m familiar with the Lorex cameras. I have another one and it works great different model but when I ordered this one for my pet it looks new and it won’t connect.

Camera helped me deter a thief

I picked these cameras (this one and another Lorex model) after our family house that is under construction was robbed multiple times. The fact that there was an alarm system was not enough as they just broke the alarm and continued to rob the house. With the failure of the police to catch the criminals (or even realize that the house was broken into) we had to get cameras to deter the criminals and call the police ourselves.

Attached is a video of the sound detection picking up the thieves breaking into the outdoor storage on the other side of the door. This camera was able to detect the noises of the thieves pulling on the storage door and we were able to call the police. Despite the police not catching the criminal; they didn't come back after 3 separate calls to the police in one night as they kept attempting to break in again and again.

Now that we have contractors at the house finishing the work; we are able to see when the contractor comes and goes so that we can make sure that the work is being done.

As far as the camera itself; the quality of the video and images are good. Sound detection is great and tune-able. Meaning that you can make noises around the house and close doors and see what sets it off and then adjust the levels accordingly. This is important for tuning a system that won't be alerting your phone all the time but takes the relevant data when required.

The cameras have built in storage of 16GB; which is enough for about 30 hours of constant recording. Therefore when there are sounds or motion; the camera prepares a clip that is available in the app so you can see what happened before and after the motion or sound was detected.

Night mode is also great and clear; just without needing a light on we were able to see the face of one of the criminals in the window on our other Lorex camera.

The only gripe I have with these cameras is the app itself; it logs me out all the time or tells me that it will log me out but then doesn't actually log me out. So I have to close the app and relaunch it to access the cameras again. However it works fine otherwise. The "person" detection is a little misleading as it doesn't do the best job of picking up a person vs other motion depending on the size and angle. There is some tuning for this available too but we didn't mess with it too much in case the thieves came back through one of the windows and it wasn't able to catch them in time.

All in all I am very satisfied with the cameras other than the app itself (and that is the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 stars). If they fix this annoying login problem then the cameras would surely be a 5 star solution.
