The 2K resolution provides really good, clear image quality, and the color night vision is a nice improvement over traditional monochromatic IR footage, although it still has IR capability. The adjustable 1500 lumen floodlight is bright enough to deter unwanted activity and works well with motion activation, manual control, or scheduling.

What really makes this camera useful is the motorized 160° pan coverage combined with live auto tracking and person detection. When motion is detected, the camera automatically pans to follow the motion, providing continuous, targeted recording. Even as this is my camera it is an eerie and intimidating feeling of being watched as the camera pivots to my every move autonomously.

The two way talk feature also works well, allowing me to speak directly to delivery drivers or deter unwanted visitors from the app. The plug and play installation was quick and easy, and the IP66 weatherproof rating makes it a durable camera that should last much longer than my no-name brand camera I had previously at this location.

The instructions were very straight forward and worked much more smoothly than even my Ring app did at recognizing, connecting to the camera and getting it on my complex SDN Wi-Fi network. Once connected and installed I am able to customize the alerts, lighting response, and sensitivity to my liking. My neighbor's dogs bark constantly so I had to disable the audio alerts, but it is a cool feature. In my view, trying to get power run to the camera and configuring Wi-Fi is much more cumbersome than running CAT 6 PoE.

While the new Lorex Connect app works smoothly, I do not like the constant changing of apps that results in obsolescence of hardware before its useful lifespan due to software compatibility. If you have Lorex Fusion as I do, it is absolutely not compatible with this camera. I had a spare micro SD card to put in it, and it serves a specific function besides my NVR connected cameras. But it does bother me as a consumer to wonder how long I can use this camera before the next app and mobile OS upgrade renders it basically useless.

Given the combination of a high resolution camera, a powerful and responsive floodlight, motorized panning with auto tracking, and local storage capability with no mandatory monthly fees, this floodlight camera represents a great value for the money. It provides professional grade features and reliable active deterrence at a very competitive price point.

Lights + Mic + Speaker + Recording 2K Camera = Very Good Security!

After finding what was needed to set the camera up, it has worked great and the installation was a breeze! I found the Lorex YouTube channel, and they had video instructions for setup and installation of this specific camera! It was smooth sailing from there, well almost.

Connectivity: First, you will need to download the "Lorex Connect" app from the Apple App Store for iPhone, or Fromm the Google Play Store for Android phones for its initial setup and when in use. You also need to open a Lorex account with the app in order to utilize the functions of the camera. I did have a little difficulty connecting it to my WiFi, and it may be because I run a mesh router network (I cannot confirm). After 3 tries, I got it to connect. Just remember to follow the app instructions and you should be ok to get it working.

Functionality: The camera works well, and I was surprised that it has a motorized left and right panning function. Keep in mind that when you first power it on the camera will announce (loudly) that it is ready to connect, and it will begin to move! I recruited my wife to help me test its motion detection, flood light, speaker, and mic. Everything worked perfectly without any issues.

Picture Quality: The Lorex Connect 2K has excellent image quality, and you can record that clear footage 24/7 if you have an SD card which is not included. It will support up to a 256GB SD card, and that should be plenty of storage to record at full 2048 x 1536 high quality 2K, or at 640 x 480 standard quality.

Conclusion: This camera is excellent and I do highly recommend it. However, please know that you may or may not have some difficulty with setup if yours does not come with the proper installation instructions. I advise using the Lorex YouTube channel instructional video for setup even if it does come with the correct and proper instructions, and I also included a few screenshots of the video. Outdoor installation was the easiest installation I've done in a while, and the hardware is provided in the box.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “Seguridad confiable, y de alta calidad!”

Me pedí la Lorex Connect 2K Floodlight Wi-Fi para cuando me mude a mi casa nueva y estoy muy emocionada de probarla. Me encanta que tenga cobertura panorámica de 160°, porque eso significa que prácticamente no habrá puntos ciegos en la entrada o el patio. La función de detección de personas me da extra tranquilidad! La idea de poder usar el seguimiento automático en vivo desde la app Connect, que es totalmente nueva, me parece súper práctica, lo que me parece súper, ya que podré chequear todo desde mi teléfono sin complicaciones y controlando cada movimiento de manera eficiente. También me emociona que tenga visión nocturna a color, algo que normalmente no se ve en todas las cámaras, y las luces incorporadas hacen que la seguridad se sienta completa y profesional.

Se ve resistente, bien construida y con materiales de buena calidad. Además, es un dispositivo moderno que combina tecnología avanzada con facilidad de uso, lo que me hace sentir que mi hogar estará protegido desde el primer día. Estoy segura de que, cuando la instale, será una inversión que valdrá totalmente la pena para mantener mi casa segura y siempre vigilada. 🔒✨
