Quality and Function

This candle came with no battery cover. I expected more from Luminara brand. Expensive product, but packaging had no quality control.

Love Luminara!

Have several already but needed two more. They work great and love the timer setting. Click and done! I got the ivory scented and love these. Only thing is although they’re a nice soft ivory at night they do look yellowy! Haven’t tried white but I’d love if these were more creamy off white with only the flicker flame taking on the yellow hue. These are 3.5x5 and 3.5x7. But I’ll always buy Luminara!!!!

Not a luminara / much smaller

As you can see in my above photo to the left is my Luminara bought local. To the right is what I received in a Luminara box. The box and the listing says it’s 3 1/2“ x 5“. The one I’ve got is 3“ x 5. It is not ivory it is white. And it does not have the actual Luminara Stamp on the bottom. And it is considerably lighter. Luminara is true wax and it has a better mechanism that it will last longer. Therefore it’s heavier. This is very light and seems very similar to something that would be purchased from dollar tree. The top flicker is similar to the Luminara, and that it moves. That is all this has in common with the Luminara . This is definitely being sent back.

Looks real and set on an auto timer

We love this candle in our master bathroom near the tub. It provides a realistic flickering light, nice smell, and turns itself off after a few hours to save battery life.

They are just plain special!

These candles are as nice as the other reviewers have stated. I was scared to tell my husband I bought two but when he put them on the mantle and turned on the flames he turned to me and said "you did real good." I was so happy I forgot to tell him how much I spent, oops! Lol

Perfect!!

Very Cool Candle!

This led candle is one of the better ones. It looks, feels, and smells like a real candle. I’m very happy with it. The battery life lasts a long time as well.

Luminara makes the most realistic flameless candles IMO

I have been using Luminara candles for years and I think they are the benchmark for flameless candles. The body is made of real wax and the flame mechanism looks incredibly realistic, especially if you hide the flame by turning the candle so the higher side of the wax faces out towards the front.

The timer mechanism makes these a wonderful mood setter for when I get home from work and my house is already lit in soft candlelight. They also make great night lights for a bathroom or hallway.

I have tried other flameless candles, but nothing compares to these. Yes - they are expensive, but they are SO worth the price!

I will only use Luminara when choosing a flameless candle.

Great faux candle with realistic look without the fire hazard!

I was going for a candlelight warmth in my bathroom without constantly burning a candle for hours on end. This lil guy does the job! “Flame” is produced when the light projects onto a lil flame cutout that bobs and moves like the real deal. Very cute and I don’t have to worry about my cats knocking it down to burn down my house 🥲. Overall I really loved the way this ended up complimenting my bathroom!

Does take TWO C batteries that are not included!

Very realistic candle

Very nice realistic candle. Set for on or a timer setting. Requires 2ea C cell batteries that are not included. Very good instructions included. Candle flame has realistic flicker motion.

Is This the Best or Just OK - We TESTED the difference in lighting....

...we tested with lights on and off. If you like a yellow tinged mood lighting for this price these are for you.

I feel the candle actually looks better with the light on as a co-feature item. Not a stunner but the highlight of it is the way the wee flame flickers about. I create Junk Journals amd other mixed media art and will use it for that via The Velvet Lounge Life!

Luminara moving flame LED 3”x6.5” candle is nice!

The Luminara 3”x6.5” moving flame LED candle with vanilla scent (the one on the left in the first photo) is quite nice and compares well to the competitors’ producs on the right in the first photo. The candle shipped very quickly and was packaged very well to avoid damage, with a form-fitting plastic cap around the top, as well as a plastic sleeve secured around it as seen in the second photo. As it arrived in the early afternoon and I’m not good at waiting, I immediately put in batteries and set the timer function which is 5 hours, and placed it in the only dark place in my house - the water closet in the master bathroom! It gives off a modest amount of light, but again, comparable to what two competitors produce. In this confined space, I was really able to appreciate the vanilla scent! I liked that it wasn’t overwhelming, but a warm and light scent. Even my husband liked it. In a larger area like a living room or family room, I’m not sure it would be noticeable unless it was on the table nearby. Naturally, if you or someone in your home has a sensitivity to scents you wouldn’t consider ordering a scented candle, but otherwise, it’s quite nice. Even though there is a mention of indoor/outdoor on the front of the instruction pamphlet that came with it, this is an indoor candle only. They apparently make an outdoor model, but this is not it. I can’t speak about battery life as it’s just arrived, and the remote is an add-on that wasn’t offered at the time I placed my order. I might buy this if shopping for a gift, but I find the posted price of $35 high for a single candle without a remote, based on the number of similar items available for much less. That’s just my opinion, though I do think the candle is of good quality.

Smells amazing

The timer function is nice so indont have to remember to shut it off. That’s my favorite feature. The wick and flame look so real also.

Most realistic flamless candle I have seen, surprisingly beautiful.

I will not lie at first I thought it looked kinda hokey but once I got the batteries put in it transformed almost magically into something beautiful and realistic. The light vanilla sent is very pleasing to my scent based boyfriend as well. While I personally do not need the wireless control function I can see why it would appeal to someone else. It even leaves the flickering light show on the ceiling at night which arguably is my favorite part to both real candles and this one.

Lovely candle, but way to expensive

These candles are very nice but way over priced to not include the remote! Bonus get yourself a set of Matchless brand candles for the cost of one of these candles which include a remote that works with the Luminara brand candles! The flickering flame is very nice and the scent is light not over powering. The 4.5" candle runs on 2 C batteries.

Looks realistic, colors vary even if you get ivory in multiple sizes

These Luminara flameless flickering candles look really realistic from a distance and the flickering makes the flame look real.

It also has a real wax coating which helps to the realistic look. The wax has a slight vanilla scent, you can smell it if you get nearby but it doesn’t fill the whole room. Which I don’t mind because I’m sensitive to scents.

There’s a small light that projects onto the flame shape and as the flame cut out wiggles, it gives the illusion of a real flame. Because it’s a light that’s projecting, you will notice if you place the candle near a wall there will be light reflections that don’t happen with a real candle. It’s not as noticeable if the candle is placed somewhere like in the center of a table or used in a centerpiece so I’d recommend using it there.

Doesn’t include batteries so you’ll need your own to power it on. There’s a switch on the bottom to turn it on and off or onto timer mode, or you can also purchase the remote.

If you’re sitting right next to the candle you can tell it’s fake, however if I have it placed on a shelf in the room you wouldn’t know at first glance. We’ve had people over when these were on and they thought they were real until they examined them closer up.

When you have the candle turned off you do see the fake flame cut out sticking up. I wish the “flame” could retract when it’s off, to make it look even more real.

I did find the flickering on these to be a bit fast. There’s no way to turn it down. Personally I think if the flickering was slowed it would look even more realistic. When placed next to a real candle these flames are wobbling so much faster it gives it away that it’s fake. Otherwise, it does a great job at mimicking a real flame and actually looking like it’s a lit candle if you turn it to the side so that the flame cut out is at an angle.

Price point is high, but this is the OG flameless technology.

Another issue I have is that the colors don’t seem consistent. I got a couple candles in the color ivory, but they do not look the same when placed next to each other. I have a taper candle that’s super light and I prefer the look of that one, then another ivory one that’s more beige, and then another that’s a lot more yellow. So it’s definitely inconsistent despite all being labeled as the color “ivory.”

Great to use for home decor in places where you want the ambiance of a candle, but want to avoid a fire risk, but needs better consistences among the same colors otherwise if you’re making a centerpiece or putting them next to each other it doesn’t look right.

👍🏻

I like this so much that I’ve just ordered 2 more. Realistic looking flame and a perfect size. The vanilla scent only lasted about a week, but that’s ok with me. It smelled nice, but I could do with/without the fragrance. The fact that it takes the larger size batteries make it last MUCH LONGER than those that take AA or AAA batteries. Would actually make a nice housewarming type gift.

Love these candles!

Luminara candles never disappoint! Ordered 2 different sets, one remote controlled, then a single candle with a vanilla scent, to fill my Hurricanes.

Each candle has its own timer and all work very well. The remote works on all of the luminara candles, not just the ones it came with! Juat make sure it has the pic of the remote on the bottom of the candle.

These candles definitely look real when on. They're dependable, sturdy and the batteries don't wear out as quickly as another brand I have. This one in particular takes C batteries where as the other two take D.

The vanilla scent on this candle is nice. So far it hasn't emitted the entire room, just when near it. That's fine with me as I don't always want fragrance floating about.

The only downfall is if I use the remote from my couch, it turns my roku on and off as well. Lol kinda funny but not a big inconvenience as I am not turning them off and on all day.

Great candles! Very very happy as always!

Beautiful flameless candle, works with Luminara or Matchless remotes if you have others

I’m so very pleased with this candle!

I was worried I would not like it as much as other Luminara or Matchless candles I have. The first worry was with the battery requirement. I was surprised this asks for two C batteries. Second concern was the lack of included remote. I thought that meant I’d have to operate it via manual switch, and because this is a wax candle I don’t want to handle it too much and risk the finish.

I’m pleased to say that the candle is happy to take AA rechargeable batteries in a C-sized spacer. Works great.

I’m also very happy to have discovered that the Luminara remote I already have works just fine with this candle!

By the way, I’m sure it will wear off over time but the candle also has a lovely scent.

As with all Luminara candles, I wish they were a little brighter. This one also is a little more yellow-flame than orange-flame. Not a deal breaker, just something I noticed compared to other candles I have.

Definitely happy with this candle and glad I can enjoy convenient and safe candle ambiance!

Gorgeous and smells great

I love how tall and beautiful this is! It feels like a real wax candle and looks real close up, too. The scent is nice, and currently I can smell if from about 5-10 feet away (not sure how long that will last, I'm guessing the scent will decrease over time). It does not come with a remote, but I have other luminara candles with remotes and their remote does work with this.

This candle is nicer than my other ones, as the other luminara candles that I have are plastic feeling and do not have this lovely wax coating or scent. This candle looks and feels the most realistic out of all of my faux candles!

It does take 2 c-batteries, while my other candles take aa. I has to purchase c batteries for this candle, but it was worth it!

Lives up to it’s brand!

Nice bright, dancing flame effect with the typical Luminara high quality flameless candles. Uses 2 x C batteries. The bottom has a switch for on or timer mode. Has a nice light vanilla scent. Good wax finish. Not as cost competitive but the quality does speak for itself. 5 stars!

Most excellent artificial candle on the market, hands down!

I purchased Luminara candles a few years ago on QVC and knew right away they would be excellent. These are just fantastic candles. I do still use Yankee Candles in strategic areas for the fragrance but these are my favorite to decorate with. I plan to use various artificial foliage candle rings during Christmas with these on my coffee table and my dining table. Great piece of mind they are safe around my grandchildren.

Absolutely fail-proof and the remote is even sleek and attractive without a tacky congested button look China-made lights think we need.

I didn't know it but I had soot on my hand from a Yankee Candle I had trimmed and got it on the side of one of these Luminara candles. Truly panicked because these have a wax exterior, but with a gentle sponge I was able to remove all the soot. I'm sure any dust or accidental dirt will be just as easy to remove. If you do not want a cheapy-looking wiggle waggle artificial flame these are the candles for you!

Real wax. Looks great

Luminara makes great artificial candles with a realistic moving "flame" for a premium price. The real wax with delicious vanilla scent makes this a standout. It looks especially nice inside a lantern. I like the safe worry-free use versus real candles.

Timer function turns on at the same time every day for 5 hours. Requires two C batteries. Works with optional remote control.

Lovely Realistic Candle

Great for power outages and kid friendly. I can leave the house with it running and I love the piece of mind when leaving in my kids room unattended.

Woodworx

Quality product.

This candle looks and smells great. We could not find any negative issues at all. With the holidays coming up we will definitely be getting more.

The most realistic looking fake candle flame on the market but ditch the batteries.

This is one of the most realistic looking candles you'll be able to buy. Luminara is the company which invented this artificial 'real flame' technology and there is a BIG difference between a genuine Luminara candle and generic, unbranded ones which attempt to simulate the effect. This is the brand many high end design stores, such as Pottery Barn sells (although you'll pay less here) and many of the high end 5 star resorts use it in their restaurants and lobbies to create a cozy, romantic vibe. If you have the money to spend on a Luminara vs. generic, do so. The effect is better and they will last longer. I've owned MANY of these and can tell you that these are hands down the best quality.

The one thing I dislike about this is it uses two C batteries. Devices like this ... even the generic ones ... are offering USB charging with internal rechargeable batteries, which usually last between 800 - 1200 charge cycles before needing replacement. An average 2 pack of good C batteries costs $7 and an average 4 pack of good C batteries costs around $12. If you leave this on all night or for several hours at a time to create ambiance in your living room or dining room, you're going to run through a lot of batteries. This negates what you would save on having to replace real candles which burn down.

Safety is the important thing ... no worrying about leaving your home and wondering if you remembered to blow out all the candles. No hot wax to drip on furniture or dinner party guests. No needing to be cautious about placing this in a hurricane glass with dried potpourri, etc. You can leave this on around children and pets and overall, it's a safer alternative to candles.

The realistic effect of a flame is created with a translucent acrylic flame-shaped piece that moves in different directions within a center hole. There is a small motor which either rocks the flame back and forth on a pendulum or using air. From 4+ feet away, you'd be hard pressed to notice that this was not a real candle ... it's that good. From 2 - 3 feet away, you'll likely see the effect.

The only thing that really gives this away is if its close to a wall, you'll see a reflection that is more like a light pattern on the wall. It looks like a disco ball reflection or the northern lights. Further away from the wall, it's not noticeable unless you have low ceilings. On a coffee table, dinner table, etc. in the center of a room, no issues. On a mantle, credenza or shelf ... you'll see the reflection, as my video shows.

These last a long time. The generic ones tend to have a motor that stops working or barely moves after a while. I have Luminara candles that have worked for half a decade or more. The only caveat to that is, the wire on the motor can be fragile ... so moving these around a lot (such as a caterer, etc.) can cause them to fail. Be careful when moving them ... they aren't the most portable units.

Overall, these are on the expensive side but worth the investment. The realism is amazing ... and you'll be amazed if you've never seen one work in person. I would get an unscented one if I had to do it over. The honey vanilla scent is a bit sweet for me ... luckily from beyond a few feet away, you cannot smell it much as it is lightly scented. If Luminara developed a USB rechargeable version, it would be an absolute game changer as batteries are getting very expensive. There is a timer feature which helps with this but battery operated devices like this are about 2 years past their shelf life from a technology standpoint.
