Excellent light bulb changing pole

I was actually quite pleased with how well this item works. While my ceiling lights are only 10’ up, this multi-section pole effortlessly extends up to 20’ and with its aluminum construction, is very lightweight. The suction cup adapter adheres to wide bottom bulbs with ease and the Mrs. is happy I no longer have to climb up a ladder to change a bulb. In fact, with this tool, now SHE can change the bulb herself! Even better, with the universal male threaded end, you can use this pole with whatever other handy attachments (eg. a roller brush to paint ceilings, duster, etc).

Won't grip to remove a bulb, and won't let go once a bulb is installed.

I removed two floodlight bulbs with this basket gadget, and apparently it didn't have a good grip, so both fell out of the basket, crashed to the ground and shattered. Then when I installed a new bulb, the basket literally got stuck around the bulb in the light socket. This is on a high ceiling and even when I climb a tall ladder to try to remove the basket from the bulb, it will not budge.

Low quality attachments

It didn't make it through the first use. I pushed it onto the light bulb and started to loosen the bulb. At that point, I felt a snap as two of the arms popped out of the base. One of the plastic pegs that secured them broke off (small spec on the floor at the 5:00 position). On the positive side the suction cup attachment worked just fine for removing and replacing the bulb.

Pole is adequate to do the job with most bulbs. Ad stated dimensions are not correct.

Light Bulb Changer Pole Kit 3 FT to 20 FT Telescoping Extension Pole with 2 Baskets and Suction Cup for High Ceilings and Recessed Lights Lightbulb Tool Removal Changing

The poles telescope and lock into place. The pole will bow somewhat under its own weight as it is extended straight out. Each segment must be kept straight as it is sliding or it will bind. The locking tabs are plastic, which I do not consider to be optimum because they look as though they could be broken easily. Functions as it should to change light bulbs. The ad is not correct in the stated dimensions. The pole lengths are actually 4.5 feet at the shortest and will extend to a maximum of 19.5 feet. Attachments are easy to use but they only screw on to the pole fitting with 1-1/4 turn, then a thumb screw must be tightened to keep them held in place. Also, between the attachments, this kit will grip and change most bulbs, but it is not universal. For the quality and durability, I do believe it is worth the price point of$59.99.

If you have high ceilings, get one!

At first glance the $60 price seems a little expensive. But after using the tool for a while, I can tell you that the extension pole by itself is worth $60. I have used a lot of similar extension poles in my life and most of them have issues of some sort rendering them almost useless. But this pole works great! The cam levers are easy to open and close and they hold the extensions in place – no sliding up or down and no rotating when you twist the pole. When I fully extend all four extensions, the entire pole length is about 19 1/2 feet. The thinnest extension measures 7/8” in diameter and the thickest section is 1.5”. The pole is lightweight yet feels very sturdy, even when fully extended – certainly capable of changing lightbulbs. The end of the pole is a standard threaded coupling that, in addition to working with the lightbulb changing attachments that come with the kit, will accept a variety of other attachments - anything with the universal thread. I happen to have an attachment intended to let you spray pruning sealant from a spray can onto tree branches, too high to reach even when on a ladder. You can see in one of my pictures this attachment screwed onto the end of the pole and it works great. I needed to change a 5” diameter outdoor floodlight and was able to insert by hand the new lightbulb into the “large” gripper … but due to the light fixture housing i was unable to get that same gripper around the bulb in the fixture. But no problem … the suction cup worked like a charm to remove the burned out bulb then install the new one. The string release on the suction cup is genius! I also want to mention the set screw on the attachments. When i first unpacked the kit I thought these looked inadequate. But actually they work great to hold the attachment in place. Most of the stress on the attachment is coming from the universal threaded end. The set screw is just keeping the attachment from coming unscrewed accidentally.

Necessary for tall ceilings

What a lifesaver this telescoping light bulb changer pole is!! We have some vaulted ceilings with recess lights and I've always been concerned for the day our light bulbs go out. But with this extension pole, it makes changing lightbulbs so easy. It extends to 20 feet which is amazing and there's various buckles/levels so that you can extend it exactly how long you need it. I was worried that it would be really hard to adjust the pole, but it's very easy to glide to the perfect length you need. The actual pole is made of aluminum so it's not super heavy and doesn't hurt your arms and shoulders when using. It comes with three different attachments depending on the type of bulb you have although thankfully all of ours in the house is the same, making it super convenient.

This is such a functional and necessary item for households and we've already had many friends asking to borrow it. I wish it had an official box or case to store it in but definitely would recommend to others.

Good For Installing, So So For Removing Bulbs

This lightbulb changing extension pole is fairly sturdy when fully extended, it does take some getting used to. It works easily to extend, the length of it is very good, you can get up high with it from the comfort of the ground. This pole set came with a variety of attachments that screw onto the end of the pole.

The lightbulb claws work best, as you can see in the attached video. There was also suction a suction cup attachment, that one does not work at all, as you can see in the attached video. The pole is neatly made, it is not heavy or hard to handle when fully extended. It retracts to a manageable size that is easy to put away.

You have to make sure that the bulb claw attachment piece is very tightly screwed to the end of the pole, otherwise the pole starts to unscrew when you are trying to unscrew a bulb. This light bulb changer is good for installing but only so so for removing bulbs.

Change Light Bulbs The Easy Way!

I have some outdoor flood lamps around my home that are high enough that I have to use a ladder when changing out bulbs. I ordered this light bulb changer pole kit to help with this chore.

The lightweight aluminum pole extends from 3’ to 20’ and has a twist lock design that allows you to lock in whatever length you need. There are 3 attachments included to suit various types and sizes of bulbs. One of the attachments is a suction cup that goes directly on the top of the bulb and holds it securely while turning the handle left or right to unscrew or replace a bulb. Once the bulb is set in place you pull a small cord attached to the suction cup and this releases the suction on the bulb. The other 2 attachments go around the bulb and you apply light force when screwing or unscrewing the bulb.

At first look I wondered how effective these methods would be but was pleasantly surprised at how they functioned. Someone put some real thought into the design of this setup.

It’s so much safer (and easier) to replace bulbs with your feet on terra firma rather than high up on a ladder.

Do yourself a favor and don’t risk a fall or accident when a simple alternative is available. Worth the money for safety and simplifying a necessary job requirement.

Very Sturdy

This a very sturdy pole with some nice features.

The base handle features two hand grips giving you good control of the pole. Of course the longer you extend the pole the harder (or more precision and strength it takes) to control the end tip. You can extend the pole via a series of four extensions. You can select the full length of the extension or lock it down anywhere in-between.

The tip features a standard sized screw in receptacle that is similar to roller paint brushes. The kit comes with two screw in bulb grippers (of different sizes) and a suction type screw in adapter for flat surfaces. The bulb grippers work well but your mileage may vary on the suction attachment.

Overall a good, versatile tool that can be used for more than just for changing bulbs (with other adapters). Works well!

The Lupar Light Bulb Changer Pole Kit is a game-changer for anyone with high or vaulted ceilings, providing a much safer alternative to climbing tall ladders. The telescoping pole feels incredibly sturdy even when extended to its full 20-foot reach, and the kit includes two different-sized baskets and a suction cup, making it compatible with everything from standard bulbs to larger recessed or flood lights. The mechanism is smooth and locks securely into place, ensuring the pole doesn't slip while you're working. This tool is a must-have for homeowners, as it saves the time and expense of hiring a handyman just to swap out a single hard-to-reach bulb.with Ease and Safety

The Happy Clown With A Frown

Great For High Ceilings And Outdoor Lighting

This is much sturdier than I anticipated. It's a good quality device that does what it's supposed to. I have always had to drag an 8 foot ladder into the house to change the bulbs in our living room and that has gotten more difficult for me over the years, so I was hopeful that this would work. I'm very pleased to say it performs very well. I had a small moment where I doubted it, because it couldn't seem to grip the decorative bulbs in our fixture, but I moved the gripper pads up on the basket and then it was able to grip the bulb easily, unscrewed it and I brought it down without trouble. The pole extends and retracts easily with the thumb clips. The clips are tight and the pole stays in position without slipping. The threaded head holds the included attachments firmly. There is a basket for smaller bulb, one for larger bulbs, a suction cup for larger, flat bulbs and a pad to clean bulbs. The pole can also be used with other attachments that have the same size threaded base. This is a good tool for high ceilings and outdoor lighting and offers a safer option than tall ladders.

Handy Light Bulb Changer Pole Kit

I got this Lupar telescoping pole kit for changing high ceiling bulbs, and it works well overall—extends smoothly up to 20 feet and feels sturdy with good grips. The suction cup holds securely, and the two baskets plus other attachments swap easily and do a solid job on most bulbs. The only minor thing is the provided cleaning cloth for the suction cup is a bit too small to cover it fully. Still, a practical tool for avoiding ladders.

Constructed of good quality materials and designed to service various size bulbs.

I'm very pleased with the Light Bulb Changer Pole Kit from Lupar. The pole feels like a heavy-duty commercial grade tool and the flip-cam locking mechanisms ensure the extended pole won't accidentally un-lock while in use. Fully extended, I measured the pole at a little over 18-1/2 feet, long enough to service light bulbs in a two-story foyer with 20-foot ceilings. The kit includes three attachments: a suction cup with release string, and two metal band bulb gripper tools for bulbs of various sizes. I personally will likely only need the suction cup attachment, but with the additional attachments, I'm prepared to help neighbors. I'm especially impressed by the design and construction of the telescoping pole as it can, if necessary, be used for other tasks. The pole and each of the bulb changing attachments appear to be well designed and constructed of good quality materials. I'll rate the whole bulb changing kit five stars and offer my personal recommendation for anyone who needs a sturdy light bulb changing kit.

Finally Changed the High Bulbs Without a Ladder or a Prayer

Pros: Long reach, sturdy pole, useful basket and suction options, easy to control, saves ladder time

Cons: Takes a little practice at full extension, baskets are best for standard bulb sizes

This kit earned its keep the first afternoon I used it. I have high ceilings, recessed lights, and fan lights that always turn bulb changes into a ladder-balancing event. This pole made the whole thing calm and oddly satisfying.

The telescoping pole extends smoothly and locks securely at different lengths. Fully extended, it really does reach up there, and it never felt flimsy or wobbly in my hands. At shorter lengths, it feels especially solid and easy to maneuver. When extended close to the max, you just need to slow down and be deliberate, which is expected for a pole this long.

The two basket attachments are genuinely useful. One works well for standard bulbs, and the other gives a little flexibility depending on shape and fixture depth. The suction cup is a nice bonus for flat or recessed bulbs where baskets are awkward. Suction held reliably as long as the bulb surface was clean and dry.

Installation is simple. Everything threads on cleanly, no tools needed, no confusing parts. Switching between attachments takes seconds. The grip on the pole feels comfortable and secure, even when reaching overhead for a few minutes at a time.

Fit and function are exactly what you want from a tool like this. It does one job and does it well. I used it on recessed cans and a high ceiling fixture without any close calls, dropped bulbs, or wall scuffs. That alone feels like a small miracle.

Durability looks solid so far. The pole locks still feel tight after repeated extensions, and nothing feels cheaply made. I would expect this to last through years of occasional use.

This is one of those tools you forget about until you really need it. Then you are very glad it is sitting in the closet instead of dragging out a ladder and hoping for the best.

Solid pole, but attachments do not easily fit R20 bulb

This purchase turned out to be a disappointment as I could not remove my bulbs using the supplied attachments. The pole itself is built solid with a nice grip. It has several different extension portions which lock securely in place. Unfortunately, one of the extensions did not slide easily at all. The pole scratches as you I extend that section. So, it has a manufacturers defect that can't be adjusted. Still, it does telescope out. It's just annoying that it doesn't extend smoothly.

The bigger problem is that the supplied baskets and suction cup do not work for an R20 bulb. The large basket is too large. The small one is a bit too small.

I had to get up on a large ladder rather than use this bulb changer.

Wow, I love this

Wow, I had no idea how much i needed the telescoping pole and not just for changing lightbulbs. This pole is sturdy and made from quality materials. The value you get is well worth the money, you can use this pole for more then light bulbs like painting. We have one wall in our house we want to paint and haven’t because we can’t reach the whole wall without a ladder and that’s a scary option. With this telescoping pole and its 20’ length we can now reach it with no problem. With the pole extended the full length of 20’ you’d think you’d lose stability but you really don’t. The pole extends quickly and smoothly. The screw on end is made of metal so it will last a lifetime. If you need a telescoping pole this one will be worth you trying.

Great extension pole for light bulbs and more

I love using this extension it is honestly amazing and made changing out the lightbulbs so much easier and less hassle without getting the ladder out 10/10 on that.

Now the thing is made with aluminum and has soft grips and is pretty sturdy. I extended the pole out all the way and held it out straight and no over bending or breaking under its own weight. It has bright orange grips so pretty nice. I love how long it stretches cause you can add more length depending on how tall you are you can reach some tall ceilings. It is a good value for the buck because of the fact it makes it easy to do an already easy task. It also comes with different attachments for different bulbs and even a duster so that's a cool little feature.

safer to change bulbs for me, I'm afraid of heights

Lupar Light Bulb Changer pole and accessories for changing light bulbs on high ceilings. The pole is lightweight and extends from 3ft to 20 ft. The segments lock by lever instead of twisting which can make it easier to deal with. There's a very mushy neoprene that slides at the handle end of things. Comes with 2 bulb basket things, dust sock and suction cup.

You first use the dust sock on one of the basket attachments to clean the bulb, then use the suction cup to twist the bulb out, and finally use the basket to install the new bulb.

I am afraid of heights, so getting on a really tall ladder isn't the best thing for me to do. This isn't perfect but it works. If you have a textured bulb you may try to use some lightly tacky tape or that temporary sticky booger glue stuff they put on retail packages as long as you try and make it sticks well to the pole side with a thin strip of duct tape or something so the gummy temp booger glue doesn't stay stuck to the bulb.

Recessed lights review

This light bulb changer pole is made of good quality materials and is very durable. It's very easy to change the different heads. We have very high ceilings, I believe 18-20ft , in our home and were in need of changing light bulbs. This pole made it easy to reach the ceiling without having to get on a ladder. We used the suction cup to remove the lightbulbs very easily. However, we did encounter an issue when trying to install the new lightbulbs. The recessed lights that we have, didn't have enough space to use the adapter that wraps around the light bulb, and we were not able to use the suction cup either because the new light bulbs were frosted, so the texture prevented a good seal. So we will have to buy glass or smooth plastic light bulbs in order to install them with the suction cup. It's a bit of an inconvenience but not the sellers fault. I just wasn't aware that the light bulbs I purchased had some texture and that would be an issue. Pointing this out in case anyone will use this on recessed lights. Overall, still a very good product and it saves money from having to pay someone else to change the lights for you.

Finally, a Safe Way to Reach Those Impossible Bulb

I bought the Lupar Light Bulb Changer Pole Kit after far too many precarious balancing acts on ladders trying to swap bulbs in our vaulted living room and recessed kitchen lights. Honestly, I wish I had gotten it sooner; it has turned what used to be a frustrating (and slightly dangerous) task into something I can handle in minutes.

The telescoping pole is sturdy yet surprisingly lightweight, extending all the way up to 20 feet without feeling flimsy. I really appreciated that it collapses down to just 3 feet, making it easy to store in a closet. The two basket attachments and the suction cup give you flexibility depending on the type of bulb you’re dealing with; everything from standard bulbs to recessed lighting can be handled without a problem. The suction cup, in particular, works better than expected, gripping securely without slipping.

That said, there is a small learning curve. It takes a little finesse to line things up perfectly and to apply just the right amount of pressure, especially for bulbs that are either stuck or recessed deeply. But once you get the hang of it, it’s smooth sailing.

Pros:

Reaches up to 20 ft safely, no ladder needed.

Lightweight but sturdy telescoping pole.

Multiple attachments for different bulb types.

Collapses small for easy storage.

Saves time and adds a layer of safety.

Cons:

Slight learning curve when aligning the suction cup with recessed bulbs.

Not as effective if a bulb is over-tightened or stuck from years of use.

Final Thought

The Lupar Light Bulb Changer Pole Kit is one of those household tools that instantly pays for itself in peace of mind and convenience. If you have high ceilings or recessed lights, this is a must-have; you’ll wonder why you ever risked climbing ladders just to change a lightbulb.

A bit over priced

This telescoping extension pole extends from 3 feet to 12 feet, making it perfect for high ceilings and recessed lights. The kit includes two baskets and a suction cup to securely grip and remove bulbs, ensuring a hassle-free experience. Ideal for both residential and commercial use.

Two main reasons for giving it the 4 star review instead of 5;

1. Not so convinced that the value is there for the price.

2. The suction cup isn’t strong enough, not sure if including it is a good idea, as one can drop a light bulb from a high distance due to the weak suction.

bek

Very nice device. I really needed this.

This telescoping pole expands to 3 different sections for different heights that you might need to reach. You lock each section in place, at any length that works for you. Unfortunately, the first one I received would not lock in place on one section, but they sent me a replacement. It's all plastic, so I don't know if it'll last. I received the replacement fairly quickly and the new one works perfectly. It's very lightweight and much easier to use than I imagined. I am able to reach my tall ceilings and replace bulbs now without having to get on a ladder. Quality Control might be able to use some improvement, but it's a great concept and very useful.
