disappointed. One use. Blown.
Super disappointed. The power quit working- time after one use. I’m usually a big fan of Mackie but this has frustrated me. It’s right at a year old and already blown.

Turning on power produces a squealing sound. It first started months ago and would last a couple seconds. then minutes. now it just stays that way, coming through the audio outs, and making the mixer useless. I'm going to try to get Mackie to replace, but their warranty is only 1 year afaik.
I opened the back, and the video is of the board that is creating the noise

DO NOT use this in a professional setting. Mine failed within 2 years of purchase with extremely lite work duty. Mixer constantly beeps and blinks with no operational function. Requires an internal power supply repair. DO NOT BUY.

I got this mixer from the guitar center in town and it worked really well, for the first year. I will say even before it died, it had sound quality problems on its digital channels when it was left on too long. (Crackling)
One day I turned it on and my speakers just start shrieking then I turn it off and try to turn it on again with no luck. I should say that I am an electrical engineer, so I inspected the power board to find that there were some definite issues with inductors in the boost converters.
This wasn't a big deal at first, I just planned on calling Mackie and ordering a replacement board. The issue quickly became Mackies customer support.
Initially I was told the power supply board I needed was out of stock and would be back mid July, they said they were going to e-mail me, but never did.
Still not a huge deal, when it got to when they said the power boards would be in I started calling again. I would regularly attempt to talk to customer support at 3 pm pacific, two hours before they advertise they close, this was just really the only time I had to call them when they were open. When I would first call it would sit there ringing for a few minutes only to be hung up on. Then when I would call back right away, the phone would just be turned off with asking me to leave a message!! Then, when I did leave a message, I never received a response. This has happened to me several times now.
At this point I really don't expect a whole lot out of Mackie. I will probably just end up designing a new power supply board myself, but I know most people won't have that luxury.
Just a thought, if you actually want to maintain and service your mixer, I would avoid Mackie.

This mixer is perfect for any event. I work, primarily, as a wedding DJ. This mixer gives me complete control over all aspects. It also allows for a videographer and other performers a simple way to perform and sound great while doing so. I highly recommend this product.

Dealing with Mackie / Loud Technologies LLC support was absolutely atrocious.
The USB interface makes noise, absolutely unacceptable quality, and their response was completely unprofessional and failed to resolve the situation appropriately. Working with them was VERY difficult.
They FINALLY accepted fault and initiated a return, but the replacement is out of stock and won't be shipped for 3 months?! What?! How is this acceptable? I need to get work done for my job and I can't simply afford buying another mixer when I spent good money on this one which doesn't work right.
I'm so unhappy with this. Mackie used to be a good brand you can trust, now they are simply milking the brand name for whatever good will is left.
Stay away from Mackie / Loud Technologies!

Great mixer for the price. Just need to get a new XLR mic and I’ll be set to go. Also the built in FX is cool and works flawlessly

We love to sing and this is perfect for our needs especially the reverb FX. A good replacement for an older Mackie 8-channel without FX. I recommended to a friend and he loves it too. There is always room for improvements so it earns 4 stars.

I have owned a few Mackie mixers over the years, from the VLZ workhorses to the ProFX series V2. The only problem I had was using one for home recording. They had to sit in front of my Lexicon audio interface adding more noise. I wanted to use the Mackie preamps and eq going directly in, not just eq it in the software. (note: the v2 series have USB available on the 8 channel and up but monitoring with headset is not easy to do on those when recording)
This new ProFX10 v3 series does it SO well. The channels are dead silent for perfect quiet passages like acoustic guitar and vocals. The 3-Band eq is very nice sounding and the compressor is a nice touch to have added. I can really hear the difference in the new GIGFX effects, plus there are more of them! The Onyx mic pre's with 60db of gain let you record with almost anything you plug in. I recorded a few vocal tracks with my old SM58 for testing and it sounded amazing.
For me the main reason I switched to this new v3 model is the monitoring ability while tracking. They built in a "blend" circuit and knob to allow you to record a new track while a previously recorded track is playing back, just like in a "real" studio. The blend knob lets you hear exactly how much of your live recording you want in your headset and how much of the recorded track playback you want. There's also a separate "control room" volume knob for studio speaker monitoring.
Finally, on this model (as well as the ProFX6) they have gone with level knobs instead of sliding faders. I personally never liked sliding faders on small boards, they are hard to fine tune while sitting at a desk. Plus they collect dirt much easier. This also makes this 10 channel mixer very compact on the desk! (I'm looking forward to taking this out to mix a live show too)
Highly recommended!
