As a first grade teacher, I was hoping for more “quality” books for my struggling readers with interesting titles. The pages are glossy and nice big words, but these are advertised as “pre k-1”. These words are too tricky for beginning readers. This is more for end of 1, beginning of 2nd grade. Nice illustrations but I’m a little sad, as I hoped more simple sight words would be included.

These are perfect for children that are learning to read. There 12, very short and simple books. They're small in size for small hands. They also come in a little carrying case.

Nice set of books. Maybe I didn’t pay attention to the description but I wasn’t expecting them to be a mini size. It’s actually a great size for little hands so I was OK with it. The books are very short and have very few words. Reading with my four-year-old, we get through the whole set in minutes. However, him “reading” them on his own, he is definitely engaged. I imagine this would not be challenging or engaging for older readers. Similar to other reviews, the binding is not great. But we haven’t had any books fall apart so I can deal with it.

As stated before these are definately not what you would think a Pre-1 reading series would entail. The good thing is the print is large and books short enough to keep your little ones attention.
