Worst at home massager EVER

Don’t recommend!! I got this massager for my mom for her birthday thinking it would be a nice gift since she has a lot of shoulder and neck pain. Every time we used it, it would kinda hurt my mom. I used it recently while being sick, I lied back on it on my bed with pillows behind me for the 15 minutes its timer is set to. Ever since then I’ve had the worst pain in my neck and shoulders. I believe the deep tissue is inflamed or I’m having muscle spasms that are now compressing or irritating the nerve root in my neck. I just had to go to Urgent care today and get prescribed Naproxen, and a Muscle Relaxer, and have to take a leave of absences for four days from work because of this incident caused by this machine. In hindsight, I shouldn’t have laid-back on to the machine while it was massaging me, but there is nothing that says you shouldn’t do this when buying the product. So from my experience I wouldn’t recommend this product. Outside of my injury it’s caused, it didn’t work great as a massager to begin with. Overall definitely not worth your money or pain you’ll be investing in if you buy this!

Great pressure

This thing is amazing. It’s more of a grabbing action than just rolling on top of your muscles.the pressure can be lighter or more intense depending how tight you wear it. As someone who likes a very deep almost painful massage this can do that. It’s exactly what I wanted. I hope it lasts awhile.

I like that it doesn’t need to be plugged in to be used. It’s also very quiet while in use. The only thing I might change is the voice when you change the settings. Seems unnecessary

Smaller than it looks in advertisement

Its tiny. This thing does not fit around anyones neck no idea how, models are using a different sized unit or are crazy small

MandyCandy

Poor quality. Would not recommend purchasing.

Busted after 2 months.

This was working just fine and the pressure was actually nice, but after only 2 months of using (only a few times a week), the roller just snapped off. It's all plastic underneath, so putting even a slight amount of pressure against the wheels and they break. Poor quality.

Also it needs to charge every other use, which is very inconvenient.

Heavenly

Writing this while currently using the massager. I slept horribly last night and woke up to horrible pain on the left side on my spine and neck and it hurts to turn left and right. This massager has helped with so much pain! The combination between the heat and the way it massages your neck and shoulders is perfect! If this ever breaks I’m definitely buying another one!

Amazing!

I have a massager similar to this but bigger and needs to be plugged so this caught my attention since is wireless and smaller in size (for travel or more localized massage) and I'm so glad I got it since I have been using it regularly.

I have only charged it once and I have used it maybe 10 times? So the charge lasts and uses universal cell phone cable which is another plus.

The first time I turned on spooked me the voice telling me it was on and it will turn off automatically after what feels like 5 minutes (I have not timed it) and you also get the voice telling you is shutting down.

Now the massage can be intense (much more than the electric one I have) because since is smaller it can get into the neck or back deeper but can also be gentle if you keep it more far using the straps.

Has Voice So You Know What You’re Clicking / A Little Rough

The battery is long lasting. I noticed I didn’t have to charge this massager multiple times. I’m a normal user so I didn’t put this massager to work heavily. The size also suits me; it’s not too bulky or big. Some massagers can be big and heavy; this one is easy to manage and use. I’m also happy with the voice. I’d say it makes the massage simple to use. You are able to hear everything as you press each button [nice to know what you’re clicking]. Now, does it bring relief? I noticed it depends on the personally. The massager wasn’t for me even though it’s a good product. I’d say it was painful and not the right type of massager. I felt it was a bit rough so I would have to pass; this massager does take care of the neck and shoulders. However, for me it was just too painful. The quality and overall functionality does pass though!

It’s painful to use

This massager has hard plastic pieces that are supposed to massage your neck with no padding. The plastic pieces have sharp edges and it very uncomfortable to use.

Feels amazing very relaxing

Just bought my second one and I will continue buying this neck massager as it's my favorite and not too hard on my neck but just enough to relax and help.

Omg this thing is absolutely amazing! I just recently had back surgery and was inactive for over 4 months as I’m trying to rebuild my strength again my shoulders and neck are very sore by the end of the day from lifting my weight. Just got this this morning so relaxing feeling is amazing and relaxing extremely easy to use no nose at all pressure is great fits perfectly on your neck I just can’t believe how much this helped. Highly recommended! Definitely don’t overdo.

How great this is

I can only it for 10 minutes because how bad my pain is but it loosens the tension I’m still in the beginning phase of my recovery from car accident but after work this is amazing to use

E

Looks and hopefully works great.

I haven’t had a chance to use it yet but so far everything looks great. It has great material and it came in its own little pouch. Also, the light turns on so that means it’s charging. I can’t wait to use it. It looks so comfy.

Doesn’t come charged/wont charge, but feels great

This feels amazing but it comes completely dead. I’m on hour 6 of charging so I decided to try it and it died within 15 minutes.

Update: we are on hour 18 of charging and the light is still red.

It works okay.

March 22, 2025:

This Masgre K8 massager is described as a "massage shawl" which is a good indicator of its primary intended use. The device is placed on the back of the neck with the side arms hanging down in the front on both sides. There is no marking on the device to indicate which side faces up, so I'll post a photo of how it looks from behind; when positioned as shown on the box.

As stated on the product page, this is NOT rechargeable/wireless. Both AC and DC (vehicle) adapters are included, plus a manual. The instructions specify that the device should always be unplugged when not being used.

There are buttons for power on/off, direction, heat and speed. The default speed is medium. The device shuts off automatically in 15 minutes.

The device is primarily sold for neck and shoulder massage, but the manual also describes positioning for other areas.

I think the function is average for this type of item compared with others I have tried.

Amazing Customer service

The product I received had an issue but I like their customer solution team , they reached out and solved the problem.

Thank you

Love the circular n kneading sensations of massages

This neck massager is very relaxing. Upon powering it on, let's talk about the other buttons...from bottom up, the first button is low or high intensity. High is faster. I prefer low intensity. Above that button is heat, when on the light goes red when off it is green. Good association of color with heat mode. Next up it the button under power, it offers 2 modes. I prefer mode one which is more consitent n constant like a circular motion. Then there is mode 2 which I ocasionally use. This mode offers some intermittent movement then continues to do circular movements and alternates back. Thats really cool, it does like this kneading affect. You can have combinations like heat. Mode 1, intensity 2. Or change it to no heat, mode 2 low intensity. It also has an auto shut off after a period of time.

It works well on my lower sides of my neck, shoulders , and upper back. When you can't massage your own neck n shoulders or upper back, this device offers that spare set of hands while you relax. The strap is adjustable the the clasp is excellent. Easy to pinch to release and snap together to hold it around your back. It has 2 straps with handles and when I pull it , it gives me an even deeper massage. The device comes with a manual or pamphlet for you to read. But it is so easy to operate. This is a wonderful addition to my self care. It is very portable, I can take it to any room, on trips, it was affordable and has strong pressure. I am very pleased with this find. It really didn't take that long to fully charge and I much prefer it be portable where i can not be restricted to a power cord and have to be near an outlet.

Effective and Portable Massager

I have been looking for a mechanical massager for my neck and shoulders and lower back for awhile now and finally decided to give the MASGRE Electric Shiatsu Neck Massager for Neck and Back Muscle Pain Relief with Heat a try. This massager comes with a plug in massager and and a 12v cord for use in the car. It also has three speeds and a heat option. An elastic strap on the back of the unit allows you to keep it in position when using it in the car or in a smaller chair.

The controls are on the front top corners and include power, direction, heat and speed. It is a smaller unit which allows you to easily position it on your neck, back, legs or feet, and it is not very heavy so taking it with you in the car or on trips is easy.

So far it works pretty well. The mesh fabric covering the rollers is comfortable against the skin. It fits comfortably in my lower back and its 4 massage rollers (nodes) line up with the muscles there pretty well, and the same goes for the neck. As for the upper back, I really have to position it exactly right to avoid having some of the rollers hit the bones, but it is possible. Of course positioning will vary from person to person based on their size (I am 5' 3"). It also feels great on the legs, but as for the feet, I am not too impressed as I have to make an effort to keep my foot in place on the rollers vs relaxing and enjoying the massage.

As mentioned, it does offer 3 speeds, although I do not notice much of a difference between slow and medium. I really like how it reverses direction. I also like having the option to use it with or without heat, although when the heat is on, it is not as noticeable as I was hoping it would be. It is not overly loud either allowing me to full relax and enjoy the massage.

Overall I am happy with it. Of course, nothing beats a professional massage but this is much more affordable and a decent alternative.

RELIEVES TENSION

Shiatsu Back and Neck Massager, Cordless Shoulder Massager with Heat, Electric Deep Tissue 3D Kneading Massage Pillow for Shoulder, Leg, Body Muscle Pain Relief, Gifts for Men Women

My husband used to be able to give me the best massages, but since having a stroke, he no longer has the strength in his hands, to do so. I thought this neck massager was worth trying, to relieve the tension in my neck muscles and it does, but not as good as his ones were.

The first time I used it, it needed to charge for about an hour and then, once unplugged, it was ready to go to work.

I was a bit confused by the instructions about the voice, but once I had it on, it all made sense and is a great help to let you know what mode you have it on, without having to look at the buttons.

It has low and high intensity settings, for the pressure and speed and I like the high intensity the most. It kneads deeply to relieve the tension in my muscles. I can also deepen the massage by pulling on the straps. The heat isn't as important to me as the massage features, but it works well.

It comes with a drawstring bag, to store the massager and charging cord and plug.

The only thing that might be a little difficult for some people, is the straps buckle up at the back of you, so if you have a mobility issue, it may be a bit tricky to put on, if you don't have help. Fortunately, I'm able to put it on without any trouble.

The massager will never replace my hubby's massages, but it's good to have something to relieve my tense and sore muscles.

Feels pretty good

It took me a bit to get used to this massager, but once I did, I have really started to like it. At first, I didn't have the placement quite right, and it was kind of hurting the tendons in my upper back/neck. Once I got it adjusted to the right spot for me, it really has been relaxing to use, as I have a lot of tension in my neck and upper back. The quality of this massager is really nice and I love that it is rechargeable, so you are not limited to being near an outlet. I also like that it has straps that hold it onto you, as well as loops that you can use to hold it in the right place or adjust it. I would recommend this massager, as it definitely helps me relax my neck.

Nice gadget!

This is a decent massage unit that's great for working out those tough knots in your neck and shoulders!

It took me awhile to get used to, but after I did it's become one of my favorite ways to unwind. Its cordless and charges via USB C, and the charge lasts for quite awhile. The massage is really nice and feels like kneading, although I do feel that the heat is a little weak. But overall it's a nice little gadget!

Feels similar to hands squeezing the neck

The neck massager works well providing a squeezing type effect with the top neck area massagers and a pinching kneading type effect with the lower area massagers. It kinda feels like hands rubbing my neck and thumbs pushing in below my shoulders. The bottom pinching kneading ones hit just the right spot for taking out muscle knots. The heat function doesn't seem to get hot at all but more of a subtle warmth feeling. On the highest heat setting at the end of the massage session, I was getting a temperature reading of about 89 degrees Fahrenheit. There are two speed settings and I found the first slower speed to be more relaxing. The back strap works well keeping the cordless neck massager in place while moving around but I found sitting down to relax worked out best to absorb the sensations to the fullest. The device charges with an included USB-C charging cable but no AC adapter is included. The massager feels somewhat heavy when moving around the house and weighs about 1189.3 grams but feels fine while wearing. The weight seems to help the massagers dig in a little better. Overall, the neck massager works well imitating hands rubbing on the neck and lower shoulder area which feels relaxing and pleasant.

Kneading massage, feels nice for shoulders

I have tried many different massage devices and only recently started trying these shiatsu kneading massage ones. This is probably the fourth I've reviewed. As a whole, this class of devices are better than the rest for shoulders in my opinion and they legitimately grasp the shoulders from the top and knead towards the center. The round headed massage pillows and even general massage chairs don't even compare.

This device in particular has a nice gray look to it, although it does not appear as bright as it does in the product photo. It has what seems like faux leather on the outside which makes it look somewhat premium. It fits well on my neck and the straps help to keep it down. Compared to other similar ones I've tried, this one seems to have a larger top legs and smaller bottom legs, this seems to make it so it does a bit more rubbing on the top side and not as powerful when the two legs squeeze together. This is actually totally fine because some of the other devices I've used actually squeeze so hard that my shoulders are sore after. This one is much more gentle but still effective. If you like having a really strong massage I would choose one of the others, but this is better for the general layperson. This is important to note because on all the devices I've tried, you can't control how much it pinches, only the speed that it does so.

Neck Massager

Likes:

This is actually like a finger/hand massage, not a tens unit. There are two intensity levels and two different massage modes. The exterior is easy to clean vinyl and the cover over the massage nodes is removable and washable. It's cordless and uses a standard USB/USB-c cable for charging. I can "walk it down" my back to have it not only massage my neck and shoulder area but also the thoracic and lumbar regions.

Dislikes:

It's much heavier than a similar one I have. One of the zippers is broken. I don't care for the charging port sticking out like it does, I wish it was more integrated into the side. The price is higher than similar products (currently $54.99 at time of review).

Overall, 3.5 stars.

Heavy rechargeable massager w/heat, two massage modes, & straps for holding

At first I disliked this massager but after getting used to it, I like it. This comes with instructions and a USB cable. There is no A/C adapter included. I charged this in my laptop. After three hours of charging, I left it overnight to charge because it still wasn't fully charged.

This is simple to operate but takes a little getting used to. There are straps on either side of the neck to hold the unit in place or rest one's arms during use. There is also a strap that goes around the body and no instructions are provided as to its use. Finally, I figured out how to use it. I just put it over my shoulders/neck with the controls to the left and then when the unit was level with my chest, I flipped it over my head. This enables this to be worn like a backpack as this results in the strap coming under my armpits. I then turned it on by "press holding" the ON/OFF button and adjusted the levels to my liking. I then inserted my hands into the straps on either side to hold it against my body or shift it to the correct spots. Note that it is easier to set the controls before use because it is a bit awkward to crane my neck to the left to see them. It does a good job of massaging my neck area. The heat, on the highest level, is only barely noticeable.

There are four controls and they are the power button, mode (continuous or start/stop), heat (on--shown in red by default or off--shown in green), and intensity/speed (slow or fast). The heat is either on or off; there are no heat levels. The heat feature is a nice touch but it is barely noticeable.

In summary, this may be heavy and bulky but it does a good job and has the added benefit of heat if one can feel it. The massager does not fit between my neck as I expected, but the probes only touch the surface of my neck on the side and just below the base of my neck in the back. The continuous intensity is my favorite mode. I also like that I am not tethered to a power outlet.

The current price of $48.99 is on the high side of competitively priced for this unit.
