Super Dave

Great sound, easy setup, and perfect for live shows!

I’ve been using the MELONARE SD-2-1R Wireless In-Ear Monitor System for a few weeks now, and honestly, I’m impressed. I play in a small band and needed something reliable for live gigs and rehearsals — this system checks all the boxes without breaking the bank.

Setup was super easy. The auto-scan feature finds the best frequency in seconds, and the IR sync makes pairing the transmitter and receiver painless. I didn’t have to mess with any complicated menus or guesswork.

Sound quality is excellent. Everything comes through crisp and clear — vocals, instruments, and even backing tracks sound balanced. There’s no noticeable hiss or distortion, even at higher volumes. The stereo pan control is a nice touch too — it lets you adjust the left/right balance exactly how you like it.

Range and reliability: I tested it across our rehearsal space (and even walked outside), and the signal stayed strong. The 160-foot range feels accurate — no dropouts or interference. You can tell the UHF connection is solid.

Build quality: The transmitter and bodypack both feel sturdy and professional. The system includes everything you need — earbuds, power adapter, rackmount kit, and even batteries. It’s basically gig-ready straight out of the box.

Overall: For the price, this system is a total win. Clear sound, stable connection, easy setup — what more could you ask for? If you’re a musician, singer, or anyone performing live, this IEM system is a great choice.

Highly recommend it — you’ll hear your music the way it’s meant to sound.

Awesome IEM!

I already did for the SD-1 earlier this year.

I also got to test the SD-2 at my church recently. I am very picky when it comes to IEMs, and this did NOT disappoint!

I am on the Praise and Worship Team at my church as a vocalist, where we normally use Sennheiser belt packs. This comes in-box with not only what is needed to get up and running but also to make it rack-mountable. (No XLRs, though, and that's OK.)

During service I could hear my mix cleanly with no "dead spots" at all, which I could not say for the Sennheisers when they were in the A/V booth (they are up front now). I also was able to walk to the other end of our church building (about seventy yards) with only getting an audio "blip" twice at places I thought I would, even through three different walls.

There are a couple of things I would like to see improved on this unit, and they are the same ones for the last set I tested:

1 - Have a "mono" setting for those (like me) who does not need to run a stereo mix. I know that I can run a splitter off of it, but if that stays the case perhaps that could be included in-box.

2 - Take the "pan" dial and make it part of the push button settings on the belt pack. Again, I am not one to use separate L and R channels, and with the volume knob so small, they can be easily confused.

Neither of these items would be enough for me not to recommend this unit. It's durable and a great value!

Burned out after first use

Burned out upon my second use, and it was connected to a surge protector. Nothin else connected to that surge protector burned out, only this...which of course was the 30 days after buying it. The box says there is a 365 day warranty, but I emailed the manufacturer per the box instructions and got zero response. Save your time and money. The one time it worked, it sounded alright, but I was extremely disappointed with the cheap quality.

Wireless in-Ear Monitor System Makes All the Difference.

I have to give this triple thumbs up for lots of reasons. With 164-foot range, true stereo with balance control with independent left and right control and so much more. There is so much more and the description under About This Item goes through all of them. I want to comment on setting up this monitoring system. I installed it in my studio rack mount. They provide a left and right extension wing which fit perfectly into the standard rack dimensions. Ingeniously, they simply supply left and right leaflets which utilize the body as part of the mount. You simply take the screws on each side of the receiving body, remove them, and reinstall them on top of the extensions. Install the supplied AA batteries into the receiver. You will need your own rack install mounts including the flex metal wrap around clip enclosing the nut, and you will need the male thread insertion screw/nut/bolt or whatever you would like to call them. They supply a few different size earbuds for a custom fit.

I want to take a moment to share with you just how important it is to have an in-ear monitor system. Singers often cannot hear their own voice when on stage with an array of musicians. Therefore, pitch becomes a challenge. I remember on the TV show "The Voice" where most of the contestants were off pitch. Marc Anthony instructed the crew to provide in-ear monitoring systems for the next show and the difference in the quality of their performances was remarkable. When you experience the loop coming directly from your voice right into your ears, your accuracy greatly improves. On stage floor monitors are helpful but do not provide exactness and individual adjustability (there is volume control on the receiver you commonly place on your belt) that in ear monitors provide. Whether you are in a studio or performing live on-stage ear bud monitors are a must have. Highly recommended.
