Just worked for a few days

I'm so disappointed, it was an expensive purchase that only worth a few days.

One of the radios remains with the light and the battery life has dropped

Basically it doesn't work anymore

Light Stuck On, Midland Replaced

Purchased the Midland LXT600VP3 pair in February of 2022. December of 2023 one of the radio's backlight got stuck on, even with the radio off. Troubleshooting did not resolve. The backlight remained illuminated (orange) with radio off. This would discharge the batteries and significantly reduce operational time. Contacted Midland via [email protected] and they sent out full replacement instantly. Overall these small radios worked as expected. They are mid budget GMRS/FRS radios, with common features. If used in a loud environment, these might be too quiet to hear. The package I ordered came with two rechargeable battery packs that provided a good days- 15 hour- battery life. The charger works well with the provided AC to DC wall wart power supply. Range in urban areas inside sealed motor vehicles was good enough for convoys. Distance beyond 3/4 mile was not tested.

Fire risk.

I’ve had there for about 1 year. I went to charge them bc we have a camping trip tomorrow. I went to run some errands and got back home , maybe 45 minutes total and noticed a funky smell in the room. The charging base was hot enough were the plastic was soft to the touch, the base shouldn’t be 218 degrees F. Extreme fire hazard.

Cant recommend these

Got in 2020, maybe have 10 hours of use on them. Obviously the range advertised is overblown. But what got me was one started saying 'low batt' with full batteries, only one not the other. Opened it up and sure enough it was rusted. I have never used these in rain or water. Maybe slight humidity that's all. Can't recommended just based on that alone. 10 hours of use and dont work.

Bought in 2014 and are still working great!

I bought these Midlands in December 2014 and have used them sporadically over the years. Today I dug them out of storage and charged them to see if the batteries would still hold after all this time. After charging overnight I turned them on and just left them on for over five hours and the battery indicator did not move from full. I think if you want a reliable set of walkie-talkies, that will last,, these are a good consideration.. granted these weren’t used every day, but if you want some thing as a back up communications for a prepper bag or camping, these are pretty nice.

My first Midland product, satisfied

Love the sound, almost as good as cellular phone quality. In chicago, i got as far as 3 1/2 almost 4 blocks. This was in the middle of the day. Not too shabby for the price. Excellent build quality, feels solid, the recharge base has a useless light that doesn't change when your battery is charged. I guess you have to guess. All in all I'm happy, if it can get past 3 to 4 blocks in chicago I'm pretty sure it'll be even better outside the city limits

Proper FRS (No License Required) Radios For a Good Price!

Since FCC updated FRS/GMRS rules in 2017, there has been a lot of confusion around licensing requirements and equipment types. I'm happy to report that this item is a proper FRS radio meaning no license required (this item is certified under 47 CFR Part 95 Subpart B, not Subpart E - GMRS which requires a license).

As a licensed GMRS and amateur radio operator, it was important to ensure that I am complying with FCC regulations when purchasing these radios.

These radios are simple and easy to use and allow me to hand off to a non-licensed friend while hiking and keep in touch without violating the law. Great lightweight radio that is great for hiking, and being that they are water resistant, they can handle a light drizzle without issue. Anything more and I'd recommend tucking them inside a pack.

Not as advertised

This product said 36 channels in the description and showed up with only 22 channels. False advertising. Product not as described.

These are a good value within 1-3 miles

I bought these for camping in the Steens Mountains, SE Oregon. They did everything we needed within 1-3 miles in an area with lots of natural barriers. I should have studied the features and settings better before the trip because they were not very intuitive to us. That is probably just a new-user problem. These are a good value.

Melted on the charger

Unfortunately we were unable to use these. They started smoking after being on the charger for a very short period of time.

Love the radios.. Not so much the charging port.. (Only half works)

I got them to keep track of my 6yr while he plays because sometimes he forgets to check in when he changes locations. The radios themselves are great, work great and everything. But the charger I recieved only works on one side so I have to rotate them. (They both came fully charged so I didn't find out until the following night when I went to plug them in.) Other then that glitch they are absolutely amazing and any range is crystal clear! Would definitely order again. Can't beat the quality for the price. Would just check the charger out for a bit when I got them if I ordered again.

That was my mistake because the batteries only last 2 to 3 hours and they range (outside with no interference) is almos…

I purchased four boxes of radios. I read the reviews and went all in buying what I needed. I had faith that they would work out. That was my mistake because the batteries only last 2 to 3 hours and they range (outside with no interference) is almost 1/2 a mile at best. I discarded the boxes and have no recourse but to lose out. Please listen to me, do not buy these radios unless it's for your kids to play around with.

perfect on a move when you are following someone.

My husband was in a 16 ft Penske truck and I was following him, and it was a safe feeling to have these in the car with me. We drove 9 hours in a pouring rain that did not let up the entire 9 hours. On a move these things were awesome!!!! Saved the time on the cell phones...

It did the job.

It did the job on a quick road trip where 3 Corvettes made a 600 mile run out 8:00am back the next day 8:00pm. Took both units one on the first day used the other second day. Each car had there own.
