Surprisingly versatile distortion, great tones for the price
This is a really fun little distortion pedal, especially for the price. I’m not an expert on what specific circuit it’s based on, but it’s more versatile than I expected.
With the gain turned up, it can definitely get into heavier distortion territory. It’s not quite full-on doom levels, but it gets pretty close and sounds great for riff-heavy playing. Dial the gain back and it cleans up nicely into a more controlled, gritty crunch that’s very usable.
The 3-band EQ (bass, mids, treble) is actually quite effective and lets you shape the tone more than you’d expect at this price point. The Vintage/Modern switch is a nice touch too — Vintage leans warmer and smoother, while Modern tightens things up and adds more bite. Bright blue LED for indication if its on or not, and claims to be true bypass.
Overall, it’s easy to dial in something usable, and honestly just a fun pedal to play through. The settings I landed on had me playing Black Sabbath-style riffs over and over again.
Great value and a cool addition if you’re looking for an affordable distortion with a decent range of tones.

Useless at High Gain but Not Bad for Light Distortion
This pedal is ridiculously noisy and sloppy with the gain turned up, anything over about 70% on the gain knob is just unusable. I put did a side by side comparison with my Metal Muff, which is a really noisy pedal as well, but it's a "cleaner" and more consistent noise. Having said that, if you're more conservative with the knobs it doesn't sound bad as a light distortion sound on a budget. The vintage switch is cool and makes it sound more like a warm boost at low settings, I got a pretty nice AC/DC kind of tone out of it in that mode. It definitely won't have a permanent home on my pedal board but it might be fun to stick in the chain and play with from time to time. The bypass works fine and the case is metal (although it's still very lightweight).

Versatile High Gain Grit in a Compact Box
As someone who typically gravitates toward lower gain settings and bluesy grit, I was unsure how the Movall MP113 would fit into my setup.
I tested this primarily through my Marshall amplifiers, and the results are impressive. It provides that thick, aggressive metal saturation while maintaining a tactile response that feels natural under the fingers. Despite the name "Screaming Twice," do not let the branding fool you. This is not a typical low gain Tube Screamer style circuit designed to just mid boost your signal. Instead, this pedal leans heavily into the territory of a classic RAT style circuit. It offers that signature fuzzy distortion and compressed sustain that stays tight even at higher gain levels. It has the weight and punch of a much more expensive boutique unit.
The dual nature of the pedal allows for a great range between vintage textures and modern bite. For the price point, the construction is solid and the controls are intuitive. It has effectively expanded the sonic palette of my rig without requiring a massive investment.
If you are looking for an affordable way to add serious muscle to your signal chain, this is a fantastic choice. I am genuinely impressed by the quality Movall has packed into this small enclosure.
