Don’t lose the OG audio cord
Well for the price, it worked when I had the original cord. But you lose that and it’s apparently game over. I’ve tried multiple different cords to get it going on my camera again and it’s been a fail.

It worked fine, until it didn't. Now it's useless. I tried Rode SC7, and other third party cables(3.5mm TSR to TSSR) but nothing worked. It turns out, it's a known issue with this mic. When connected to a camera(Insta360 one rs, Sony A1) and my iphone, I can only hear a static hiss sound. Yes, it's fully plugged in, and yes, I used the right cable that was provided. Replacing cables simply did not resolve the issue. I

It’s even in the instruction manual that it will allow monitoring when played back and not live. The ability to monitor while recording, so I can adapt/adjust for bad audio conditions, is the sole reason I bought this. It very clearly states it in the title and specs but this is not correct. Not sure if it’s a misunderstanding of the term, which is hard to believe in an audio company, or it’s a typo, again I doubt that, or bait and switch, which is hard to believe too. If you need monitoring then don’t spend the extra money and get the one a tier below this.

Not the easiest microphone to get the hang of, that's for sure. It took me a few tries to get it working because I didn't realize the provided cord had specific ends that won't work if the cord is reversed. My eyesight isn't the best, so it was easy to miss the small "microphone" and "camera" labels on each end of the cord. My biggest complaint about this microphone, however, is the provided mount, which feels a bit too small for the microphone. I have the hardest time getting the microphone onto the mount. I'd leave it on permanently, but unfortunately, it won't fit into its case that way. Removing the microphone from the mount is a breeze, but getting it onto the mount is a real hassle, and it's a matter of time before the mount breaks while trying to squeeze the microphone into it.

The microphone worked perfectly for about five months, then just stopped working. I tried switching out the audio cable and phone adapter but neither worked. No damage to the microphone, not so much as a scratch on it. For $50 I hoped it would last at least a year. Super frustrating as this messed up the audio on my last two videos.

Lasted a few weeks. Makes popping/crackling noise randomly. Thread for microphone became loose and fell inside. Had to purchase a tool set to get those tiny screws off. Was able to get thread back on but still makes popping/crackling noise randomly. The headphone jack for playback has 2 wires that just float in air. Not sure if that's normal. Overall, I strongly would NOT recommend.

I bought this mic primarily so that it would take up less space in my camera bag than my old mic, and if it provided at least comparable sound quality, I'd consider that a win. It picked up much less sound from the sides and behind the camera, so I was pleasantly surprised. For about 3 months, I would have rated the VXR10 4 or 5 stars.
After about 3 month's use, however, it simply stopped recording on the right channel (see photo attached). To make matters worse, when I tried to solve the issue by simply replacing the cord, neither of the replacement cords worked at all, and it doesn't appear that Movo sells the cord on its own. Looking at the other critical reviews, it appears that the cord is a common weak point, and at least one other reviewer has also encountered problems getting aftermarket cords to work--apparently Movo's is wired differently than standard.

Wow. When people said it was hard to get the mic in the shock mount they weren’t exaggerating. I decided there had to be a solution. I immersed the mount in hot water for a minute and it slipped on easily.

Works very well

I was expecting better quality. I got the same sound from a no brand mic

Sounds great. Using it with a LecLoocUSB C to 3.5mm Headphone and Charger Adapter,2 in 1 USB C to Aux Audio Jack with PD 60W Fast Charging Dongle on a Zhiyun Smooth 5S gimbal with my Pixel 6 Pro. There's a sharp drop off @12k (see pix). Don't know if it's the mic or my phone. Probably my phone. The attached video clip of the artist ORCumentary (you have to get his sense of humour) was recorded with this mic on the Pixel 6 Pro and then tweaked and mastered in izotope RX9 Advanced and Ozone 10 Advanced. Video work done in DaVinci Resolve Studio.

Worked great only one time. Quit working after one filming use. Ordered a RODE mic model I previously used.

This mic worked fine for 3 months.. Not the greatest mic in the world, but better than the built in GoPro mic. Then, while on vacation it just randomly quit working.. Of course I didn't know that until I got home, so now I have a week of vacation video with no audio..
Here's the deal- the problem is that the cable went bad, no big deal, get a new cable right? It's just a TRRS to TRS cable right? Well, yes and no. It is a TRRS to TRS cable but the way it is wired does not match either of the two common standards. Most cables are designed for Apple products and those wont work to hook this mic to a GoPro. The other standard is for Nokia and those don't work either.
There is nothing in the documentation of this product that explains any of this. I had to take it apart and reverse engineer it when the new cable I bought didn't work. Initially I assumed the mic itself had died until I realized what was going on. The type of cable you need should be spelled out in the documentation. I believe most of the people complaining about this mic dying probably just had a bad cable- internally the mic is build really well.
I have attached a picture of the type of cable you would need to hook the Movo Microphone to a camera such as a GoPro.

Great sound build and use

I use this with my GoPro, phone and computer. IMO the best mic for the money when it comes to audio quality.

Bought this for my GoPro hero 7 black to use for making fishing videos. I love it! I had a smaller cheaper one and replaced it with this one. It is so much better audio. Picks up my voice very well from up to 10 feet away or more. Very happy with my purchase.

Needed a small mic for outdoor video with Canon R5. COmpared Movo VXR 10 Pro to Rode VideoMicro. Both come with same accessories. Both are major improvement to Canon in-camera mic. Overall sound quality between the Rode and Movo were about the same. No difference in wind distortion with dead cat covers. However major differences in design build features. With Movo VXR10 Pro the mic projects beyond back of camera (due to positioning of Rycote mount) making it impossible to use EVF. The Movo also lacks coiled cable and no grooved in base of Rycote mount to secure cable. The Movo Rycote mount is also thinner plastic, tends to allow the mic to wobble more. Also could not get 2nd audio output to work. Returned the Movo and bought the Rode VideoMicro.

Love this product paired with my DJI Osmo Action camera for vlogging! The sound is great. Very crisp with more defined lows than cameras built-in battery, and picks up at a much greater distance.

If you were looking to get quality sound out of your videos and look like a pro, this is a must have!!

I couldn't make a better decision on this item. Am happy I get it and the quality and the sounds like exactly what am looking for.

Solid mic for a solid price. Works great for my Sony A6400 however one of the cables I got had the stickers flipped so the side that says mic needed to plug into camera and the other side that said camera actually needed to be plugged into the mic. So basically if you end up messing with it and it doesn’t work with your camera just try to flip the cable around (just in case).

Got this for my wife. Tested it on my mac and the sound is very clear. Definitely best value for money.

It works perfectly for me. I've tried using these two for bi-directional recording using my camera.
Listening to live recording on smartphone also works fine with me using its provided TRRS jack and Movo TRRS port.

I was really excited when I opened this microphone up. The case is great and has room for some of my lighting and other camera gear. The microphone feels solid. Unfortunately that's where the enjoyment ends.
The microphone gives off a constant static sound when being used. I tried on several different devices in different locations with the same outcome. When I contacted support they told me to just return it without even providing any troubleshooting steps.
The "monitoring" port does not actually give you audio feedback when recording, it only can be used to play audio through your device as headphones. Not completely a waste, but not a true monitoring port.

The audio quality is great and can't beat the price.
