It is an entry level light ring but it does come with a lot of different lighting modes. In particular, there is a vast array of different colors and lighting animations. I was really impressed but the sheer number of modes. Build quality is okay, and if you don't over tighten anything it should last a long time.
Setup was a easy with only one major screw needed for the base. Everything can be put together by hand. Once assembled the base is sturdy and easily holds a phone in place. I would caution that having the ring facing down the base spun backwards (away from the ring) does cause it to be imbalanced. So if you want to shoot things on a table from the top down, you may need to put some additional weight on there to keep it from tipping over. Despite this, I think it offers a good range of motion and you should be able to record in different orientations without much hassle.
The phone holder works and grips my iPhone well. Be cautions not to clamp it on the volume or power buttons. Shooting straight down may require some zooming to avoid getting any of the actual stand in the frame.
The included remote shutter is good and works well. I paired it easily with my phone and it really helps keep your recording or photo taking hands free which I really like.
As a total packaged, and given the price, this is a great entry level stand or basic stand for video conferencing or content creation. The lighting is quite versatile and the soft lighting helps make content look high quality.

Works well enough
This light seems to work very well. Lots of lighting and color options. It can be super bright, too. It was easy to assemble, although the instructions were vague. There's a little flimsiness to the overall holder, but still gets the job done. It's easy to connect and set up.

The "Mode" Button Brings Up The Warm Light For Natural Skin Tones
If you're after natural skin tones, press the mode button on the control panel to draw up the 3000K light, which has a warm glow to it, but not too warm. Also, if you are doing product photography or video, meaning you don't want to change the color of what you are shooting, then also under the Mode light toggle once more to bring p 5600K white light, which is also suitable for skin tones. I could also see a third light in this mode with a cooler look, which you wouldn't want to use for skin tones. The button labeled RGB stands for "red, green, blue." You can increase or decrease light intensity with up and down buttons. The remote control that comes with this light connects to your smart phone, so with your phone in the holder you can either snap photos or start and stop video. This Ring light is very easy to set-up and features a heavy metal base, which has a novel attachment requiring no tools that I show you in my video.

I can switch between different light tones (cool, warm and RGB)!
I tested the RGB Ring Light with a desktop stand and phone holder, and I want to share my experience with you honestly and simply, as if I were telling you in person.
Since I got it, it's become a key piece in my workspace. I use it for everything: recording TikToks, doing YouTube live streams, Zoom video calls from my laptop, and even taking photos with my iPhone when natural light isn't great. I particularly like that I can easily adjust the color and intensity with the remote control—that's saved me more than once from harsh shadows during nighttime recordings.
As for build quality, it feels quite solid for the price. The ring light and stand aren't made of cheap plastic that bends easily, and the adjustable arm keeps the light firmly in place without coming loose with the slightest touch.
Speaking of price versus quality, I think it's pretty well balanced. It's not a super expensive professional light, but for what it offers (remote control, adjustable light, integrated phone holder, and laptop compatibility), I feel like you get more than you pay for. If you're starting out with content creation or simply want to look your best on video calls, this is worth it.
The style and design are modern and minimalist. The LED ring light has a clean finish that doesn't clash with my desk, and the integrated phone holder keeps everything organized without the need for extra accessories. Plus, the remote is small and easy to use.
Regarding size and fit, the ring light is large enough to cover my face well without being bulky. The desktop stand is height and angle adjustable, allowing me to position it exactly where I need it, whether higher for a headshot or lower for recording products on the table.
Functionality is one of its strongest points: I can switch between different light tones (cool, warm, RGB) and brightness levels with the remote without getting up. This has made it much easier to adapt the lighting to the type of content I'm creating.

Simple, Beginner-Friendly Ring Light That Gets the Job Done
This NEEWER entry-level desk ring light is perfect for beginners who want simple, affordable lighting without extra complexity. It’s USB-powered and offers three color tones with multiple brightness levels, which is more than enough for video calls, streaming, selfies, and basic content creation.
The light output is soft and even, easy on the eyes, and flattering for skin tones. Controls are straightforward with physical buttons, and the built-in timer is a nice bonus for longer sessions. The adjustable stand and tilting ring make it easy to dial in the right height and angle, and the wide base keeps everything stable on a desk.
The included phone holder works well for both vertical and horizontal shooting, and the Bluetooth remote is handy for hands-free photos or videos. Overall, this is a solid, no-frills ring light that’s ideal for Zoom calls, home office use, and beginner creators.

Just what I needed
I needed a ring light for occasional conference calls on my phone, and the NEEWER Entry Level Desk Ring Light was exactly what I was looking for. The kit comes with everything you need, including a solid metal stand, a metal pole, a USB cable, a remote, and even a USB to USB-C adapter for newer devices—all at a very reasonable price.
The 10.5" ring light feels a bit cheap, but the light quality is quite decent. You can choose between warm, neutral, and cool lighting modes, and adjust the brightness across 10 levels, from dim to bright.
The setup is very simple. I appreciate that the manufacturer used a standard mount for the light, allowing you to attach it to any other light pole. The remote works well if you want to take selfies or start recording. The phone mount is also standard and features an adjustable arm, which lets you mount any phone easily.
In summary, this simple package offers multiple uses, making it a great buy!

Extremely Versatile!
This light is extremely versatile! It adjusts in the center for height, near the light for angle, and the phone holder is bendable, but stiff at the same time. The light adjusts in three different modes, and then you can make each mode brighter or darker. For instance, if I wanted ambient light, I could adjust it to be a brighter or dimmer shade of ambient. It was super easy to put together, it has unlimited functionality, but it's rather large to be portable. Overall, I think it's a great value for the price. I'm very happy with it.

Consistent, soft lighting for multiple uses.
The Neewer ring light is a bright and soft light that can be used for a variety of things like reading, makeup, and photos. It was easy to set up and the remote is able to hook up to your phone and take photos. The stability is enough for a desk lamp and comes with a phone mount too. Just docked one star because of the build materials but it is the entry level version anyways, just seems a little too less.

A Great Addition to My Photo "Platform"
Well, this is another review looking at an "out of the box" option for a product that may not be the original intent for this product, but it shows you that you can see versatile uses that maybe the standard reviews do not key in on.
For me, I wanted an extra lighting option for my photo platform to take pictures for selling content that I place online. I have a photo cube, but that is a little more challenging to work with and this light helps me to create a larger photo space for taking pictures of items. I like that it gives me not only a great level of brightness, but that I can choose the "warmth" of the colors as well with the light ring. That makes this incredibly functional and versatile for the work I am doing.
While it does not stand quite as high as I like, for reviews, you really need to key in on the manufacturer's description and not somehow fault a company when it does not meet your perception. Hey, the specs are in the description. So while it may not be quite as high as I would like, it really does add a great light source for my photo project that is direct and now does not have me casting photos over my items as I take pictures using my phone (not using the gooseneck, but free floating). I also like how many ways you can adjust this light, from the stand to the tilt to the phone gooseneck.
The extra accessories would come in handy if you were doing video/photo content - i.e. the gooseneck phone holder and the camera remote. Please NOTE - read the description and look at pictures of this product - while it comes with a power cord and USB-C adapter, it does not have a power block - this is stated.
I like that the light can be powered by a travel battery so that it gives me the freedom to place my right where I would like. I am not tied to a wall and so not having a power block does not come into play. However, if you need a power block, just be prepared for this and if you need to pick one up.
This is entry level and for the price, it is a great deal to get someone started or to use it for some "out of the box" option like I have. Fantastic light and really excited about seeing my content photos improve.

Handy ring light
This is a pretty decent light. However it has a high pitched hum on the 4800k setting. Incandescent and 5600 are silent. The ring light has a phone mount you can screw into the ring but not sure that is a good placement for a light that hums. It sits on a heavy duty base that I am thrilled with I just swivel the light and use it as a quick/cheap book light, sometimes I use it for overhead shots. For this purpose I wished the stand telescoped a little. I don’t see any green or magenta tint so far. Overall a handy light.

Professional quality in an entry level version
Today I'll be viewing and demonstrating the entry level 10.5 desktop bring light.
Brand: NEEWER
Product: desktop ring light
My final thoughts on this entry level desktop ring light. First thing you have to do is to assemble it very easy to do once you do that find a USB type 3 or type C it comes with an adapter and plug it into your laptop or power bank. A remote shutter control the smartphone camera.
If it's your first time starting out doesn't make a perfect addition to your equipment.
Give this entry level desktop ring light a try!

Great for Phones but Limited in Flexibility and Power Options
The NEEWER Entry Level 10.5‑inch ring light is a compact, plug‑in device that delivers bright, even illumination--perfect for quick selfies or casual video calls. Its design centers around phone usage; the built‑in holder works flawlessly with most smartphones, but if you’re hoping to shoot with a camera or other larger equipment, you’ll find the options limited.
One of the biggest constraints is power. Without an internal battery, the light relies entirely on its USB‑C jack, so you must keep it tethered to a charging port or a device that can supply power. This tethering can restrict mobility and make outdoor or remote shooting more cumbersome than a battery‑powered alternative would allow.
I was able to use the light with my Kandao QooCam 3 by attaching a 1/4‑inch male‑to‑male adapter. Still, it would have been far more convenient if the base/stand accepted a standard 1/4‑inch threaded screw--then I could have mounted it on any tripod.
Overall, the NEEWER ring light shines brightly for smartphone users who don’t mind staying plugged in, but its lack of battery power and limited mounting options make it less versatile.

Great and stable light with lots of features.
I wanted a reading lamp and this light did the trick - with various options for light intensity and color spectrum (all grades of white - no RGB colors). The light is sturdy, adjustable in elevation, powered by 5VDC (power supply not included) with a USB A cord and an adapter to allow you to use USB C power supplies. Assembly was simple but the instructions merely showed all the parts in line drawings - I used the video in the ad to figure it all out and my photos may help you. First surprise was that the upright rod actually has a telescoping piece inside. Once that is pulled up, and the collar tightened to the lower rod section, everything starts to make sense. The phone holder has a threaded area inside the light circle (the similar threaded circle on the back holds the light fixture to the base using the knob device). The power cord is quite long (well over 4') so you have lots of flexibility on placement. No tools are needed for assembly. The screws are actually not completely round, and they fit into a slot in the base that holds them in place as you twist the upright pole. So, as to negatives, a step by step assembly guide would be nice, but otherwise all is good. I did not link the selfie remote to phone and am not commenting on that add-in item.
My photos show unboxing, assembly, and photos of the light at various selections for intensity and color temperature.

Why do you need something simpler than BASIC?
When they list the NEEWER Entry Level Version 10.5" Desk Ring Light with Stand/Phone Holder Compatible with iPhone/Remote, 10W CRI85+ ED Lighting for Streaming Recording Makeup Selfie Laptop Video Conference, N22 as Even simpler than BASICS, NEEWER ENTRY LEVEL VERSION is designed with ultimate simplicity and affordability in mind, perfect for absolute beginners who only need the most essential functions without any complexity or extras they are not kidding! But why even include a built in timer function lets you set the lighting duration to 3, 6, 9, or 12 hours? Just turn it off when you are done. I mean it's not like you can't tell if it's on or off now is it? OK, that's it for useless extras now for what's lacking. The three lighting modes warm (3000K), neutral (4500K), and cool (7000K) are just too limiting if you want to match this with existing lighting. If this is your sole source of lighting or your other sources can match one of these color temperatures then it will work if not then the lighting will look weird.
I also the gooseneck phone holder to be lacking. I am just not a fan of goosenecks. They are either too loose or too tight. Too loose and you can never get it to stay in the right position and too tight and you can never get it in the right position in the first place. Very frustrating!
Now for what they did right. The 10 dimming levels are adequate and work well. The stand is quite good and it too works well. The Ring Light throws a nice shadowless light if you can position your phone's lens in the center of the Ring Light despite the gooseneck phone holder. The included small Bluetooth remote to control your phone’s shutter wirelessly is nice and works well once you pair it with your phone. Pairing it was very easy.
The dictionary defines Basic as an essential foundation or starting point so how can the NEEWER Entry Level Version be below Basic? Wouldn't it then be the new Basic? Anyway, considering the limitations, I think I would look at the Basic model before buying the NEEWER Entry Level Version but if you can live with the limitations the this can be a good starting point.
