Great image, size, pro features including recording ability. You'll need to find your own AC power.

There is a lot to like about this Neewer F6 107 inch camera field monitor and recorder.

Pros:

The 4K picture quality is incredibly sharp.

The brightness makes it especially helpful when using it outdoors in the daytime.

The size of seven diagonal inches is just right for my needs because it's large enough to give me the detail I want, yet small enough to be portable and reduce battery consumption.

It is made of a hard plastic shell which appears to be of quality materials and that helps to cut down on the weight of the unit.

The menu has every professional option you could possibly hope for including focus assist and wave four monitors and vector scope and focus assist, it's a very professional list of options included in the Software.

I can also record to an internal SD card (not included)

Given all the professional features and image quality, I believe it is a good value for the money.

This monitor does run off of 12 V AC and USB power as well as battery power that attaches to the rear of the unit.

It does come with a cold hot shoe mount that has an adjustable tilt feature.

There are quarter inch female threaded receiver holes for using it in either of the horizontal or vertical position.

It does come with a collection of short HDMI cables that include standard HDMI, micro HDMI, mini HDMI cables.

I'm able to input HDMI for viewing and recording and Then loop HDMI out to another monitor or other recording device.

The only things that this Quality device is missing are a basic instruction book and more importantly, a 12 V AC Power supply.

This is not a plug-in play out of the box unit. I had to actually research power adapters for this device before I could use it unless I had the appropriate batteries available which I did so that I could shoot this review.

I would've preferred that they include power sources so I did not have to do extra work in order to get this device turned on.

Excellent For Outdoor Use on Bright Days

I've had a cheap field monitor for a couple of years now and it's been ok. I mostly wanted it to use in studio, but when I took it outside it was not very bright at all. Since I've been doing more outdoor work lately I picked this up to hopefully provide better visibility on sunny days and it has not disappointed me yet.

This display has more capability and features than I will ever use, but the most important is how crystal clear it is on bright days (see photo below). The display is sharp, crisp, and mounts securely with the included mount that ties into my camera's cage. It came with three different video cabling options as well depending on whether your camera uses a full sized HDMI, a mini, or a micro.

I know there was an option to get these with the batteries, but I think that one battery could have been included at this price point. It's a bit on the higher end of cost, but everything is nowadays, so who knows. I have been using more and more Neewer gear over the past couple of years and have not had any issues with anything yet.

My only gripe about this is that the included user's manual was completely useless. There is literally no information of value in it and they point you to their website for a user's manual. I just need a decent quick start guide, but it's still a good quality monitor absent of a printed manual.

Great addition to my camera with a clear image, usable features that are helpful and great to have.

The F600 7" Camera Field Monitor by NEEWER, is a wonderful addition to my Canon R10, that makes taking pictures and especially videos highly improved. Here are some of the things I’ve learned while owning it and things to consider before buying.

I. Quality – This monitor comes with a respectable level of quality that’s good for this level of cost. That being said, it was less then expected from NEEWER. I have many products from them and they are usually more impressive.

II. Performance – It has provided me a great way to improve my pictures and videos, by allowing me to better see what’s in the field of view as well as providing other useful data. It’s a big improvement over any of the included screen on the camera’s themselves and well worth the cost to me. The image or video is clear, crisp and higher definition at 1920x1080P. The ability to attach two batteries is a great bonus and keeps me going for a while. It’s easily mounted and connects to all my sources, making it simple to use. The screen is a little hard to see in the direct sunlight, but plenty bright is other situations. The touch screen has worked great, is responsive and a nice compact size.

Overall, this has been a great addition to my camera set-up with higher quality, performance and usability, making me very happy to have it in my tools. I’ll be sure to update this review, if I ever start to have problems with it.

If you’d find it helpful to see an up-close visual inspection of this product, I recommend you watch my included video in full screen. They say a picture is worth 1000 words, well it’s a video!

You can trust that this review is simply my honest opinion that is attempting to provide you with helpful insight that I wish I had before I picked this product. Hopefully it was helpful in your decision.

Bright, Professional Monitor with Excellent Performance

The NEEWER F600 7" Camera Field Monitor has exceeded my expectations. The 2400-nit brightness is incredible, making the screen easy to see even when shooting outdoors in bright sunlight.

The touchscreen is responsive and easy to navigate, and features like focus peaking, HDR, waveform, and 3D LUT support make it feel like a much more expensive professional monitor. I also appreciate the 4K HDMI loop in/out, which integrates perfectly into my camera setup. The included cold shoe mount is sturdy and makes installation quick and secure.

Overall, this is an outstanding field monitor with exceptional brightness, professional features, and excellent image quality.

Also a great accessory for still photographers

I rarely shoot video, concentrating instead on still photography of a wide variety of subjects for myself and clients. So I'll never use the full potential of the F600. My primary interest in the F600 is those times when I wish I had a larger screen to help with composition, confirm focus and review images, but I want more mobility than I get when weathering to my laptop.

I've tried wireless teathering to iPads and it always works fine at home, but ends up being a distraction on location trying to get the hardware and software to work properly and I often give up because it's not worth the bother.

I decided to give the Neewer field monitor a try and I couldn't be happier. Slap on any NP-F battery, connect one of the included HDMI cables to your camera and the Neewer F600 gives you a huge screen to work with. The F600 feels very robust and the menu system is straight forward and easy to navigate. I'm particularly impressed with the all metal hot/cold shoe mounting hardware, it's simple, adjustable and very rigid. The screen colors, contrast and brightness are a fairly close match to my Nikon and Fuji cameras without any adjustments or profiles and I really like the RGB histogram overlay. The F600 can be powered via USB or a DC input as well as NP-F batteries and displays the charge status of the attached NP-F battery(s).

I already know a couple scenarios where the F600 will be a lifesaver. Mounted to a light stand near my tripod mounted camera for client image review and when photographing birds from a blind when the camera is at a level/angle that makes viewing the camera's much smaller LCD difficult.

My only disappointment with the F600 is that it's a little heavier than I was expecting and doesn't include a sunshade.

More monitor than I needed, but very useful for overhead iPhone video

(review of NEEWER F600 7” Camera Field Monitor)

I bought this to use as an auxiliary display when shooting overhead videos with my iPhone. For that job, it works very well, though I’ll admit this is probably more of a professional tool than I really needed.

The monitor included a variety of HDMI cables, a USB-C to USB-A cable and, frankly a much nicer than necessary, cold-shoe mount for mounting it on a camera or bracket.

The F600 supports a lot of on-screen video tools, along with built-in color tables for tuning the display. It also lets you load custom LUTs from the built-in SD card port. For my use, the default setup was fine right out of the box, but I’m also not doing color-sensitive video work. I mainly needed a larger, clearer display so I could frame overhead shots without guessing from the phone screen.

Most of my use will be indoors, but I did test it outside, and the screen was still visible in midday sun.

I did not buy compatible batteries for it, so I can’t comment on how well those work. I also don’t use them with my Neewer lights. The good news is that the monitor ran fine from the USB-C power bank I already use when shooting with my iPhone. It even worked when powered directly from the iPhone itself, though I would not make that my normal setup.

My only real gripe is that I wish the USB-C port accepted video as well as power. If it did, I could use a single USB-C cable from the iPhone to the monitor. As it is, I used a USB-C to HDMI adapter cable (not included) for video, then a separate USB-C cable to a power bank for power. It works, but it adds some cable clutter.

For my simple overhead video setup, this is more monitor than I strictly needed, but it does the job well and gives me room to grow if I decide to get more serious about video work.

Awesome monitor

I’m really impressed with the NEEWER F600’s clarity and brightness. The 2400‑nit screen is bright enough to use outdoors without any glare issues, and the touch interface is responsive and intuitive. The color accuracy and 3D LUT support make it easy to match footage across cameras, and the HDMI loop‑through works flawlessly with my DSLR setup. The overall build feels sturdy and professional, which is great for field use.

Setup was quick, and the monitor’s features like focus peaking and waveform display have already improved my shooting workflow. Even though the battery isn’t included, it’s compatible with standard options and easy to power. For the price, this monitor delivers excellent value and performance, a must‑have for anyone serious about video production or photography.

The SD card slot can only handle up to 32gb SD cards

I own and operate two Black magic cameras a 6k pro and a 6k G2 and for my outdoor rig 2400 nits on a 7 inch display this sharp is amazing. The touch screen and its tools are also excellent in that they have grids, hystograms, focus peaking lines, zebras. . .basically all the tools and color options to make sure you get the shot. The two screw mounting points are also robust. You have the option of running 1 or 2 sony NPF970 batteries or compatible with the monitor which will add a considerable amount of weight to the already heavy monitor but at least you won't be drawing power from your V mount battery or other power accessory if you decide to use the AC plug.

It also comes with a variety of HDMI cords which i appreciate but opted to use my hdmi cord which was compatible.

The boot up time is about 9 or 10 seconds when powering on the monitor. This also has an SD card slot for LUTs and updates just know that it can only handle SD cards up to 32GB.

Its also important to know that this came out after the F700 so this is a newer Neewer model with a brighter screen but less or different features than the F700. My previous monitor was only 600nits and about 5 inches. On my 6k G2 which is my run and gun kit this monitor was a welcome upgrade for both me and the actors to help with their marks. This does not include a sun hood. Though I think with this brightness that's not an issue. One is available separately though.

For the price point the size, build quality, brightness, functions its all a great deal and much better than the budget models I have used in the past.

Very nice display that is bright enough to use outdoors!

This NEEWER F600 7" Camera Field Monitor, 2400nit HD 1920x1080 IPS Touch Screen with 3D LUT, 4K HDMI Loop in/Out with Peak Focus DSLR Video Assist HDR Waveform, Cold Shoe Mount, Battery Not Included (F600) is another good quality product from a brand I recognize .

This field monitor has a very nice picture quality and is spread enough to use even outside on a bright day. The size of this is so much nicer than looking at the screen on my camera, and I find it excellent when I want to shoot in live view instead of using the viewfinder. Mounting is pretty straightforward as it has multiple options and comes with a bracket that is easy to adjust. You build quality is excellent I really can't find any problems with the overall build quality.

I do wish this came with batteries as I find it more effective if I want it on the go, but so far I've only used it in my photography studio while plugged in and I've had no issues. I will probably pick up a couple batteries for future use with this just in case.

Overall I'm quite satisfied with this I think it is easy to connect and adds a lot of versatility when a field monitor is needed. I would order this again.

Works great neat scene great resolution for its size

I recently purchased the NEEWER F600 7" Camera Field Monitor, and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. This monitor absolutely deserves a 5-star rating!

The 1920x1080 IPS touch screen is incredibly sharp and bright, with its 2400nit display making it easy to see even in direct sunlight. The 3D LUT support and HDR waveform features are a huge plus for accurate color grading and exposure checks. I really appreciate the 4K HDMI loop in/out, which makes connecting to my DSLR seamless, and the peak focus tools help me capture tack-sharp shots every time.

The build quality feels solid, and the included cold shoe mount and dual NP-F750 batteries with a charging cable make it ready to use right out of the box. Setup was quick and intuitive, and the monitor has already improved my video workflow dramatically.

If you’re looking for a reliable, professional-quality field monitor, the NEEWER F600 is an outstanding choice. Highly recommended!

Bright, responsive, and not just for videography

Let me start by stating that I'm a still photographer and do not make use of 90% of the features for a monitor. I don't know what most of the options in the menu are for, I only have a vague idea of what a LUT is, and to be honest I don't have much interest in learning. Because I shoot stills.

I'm also over 50 and wear bifocals which makes using the EVF on my mirrorless camera an increasing pain in the ass. I can take my glasses off, adjust the diopter for the EVF and have it come into not exactly sharp focus but if I look up from the viewfinder everything's blurry. And the viewfinder on the back of the camera isn't very helpful for fine focus. I also started shooting with anamorphic lenses and being able to preview the image in its de-squeezed state is very helpful.

So I tried using an adapter that turned your phone into a monitor... which was okay but kinda small and you can't use your phone for BTS content or you know, calling someone. Then I tried a Vesview 5.5" monitor which worked okay but it wasn't terribly bright, nearly useless outdoors, and it was Really Slow to respond to changes on the camera. So this is my third try and I have to say I'm very pleased.

I decided to test this with something easy, a still life with two LED lights. The monitor is VERY bright compared to my old (and much cheaper to be honest) monitor. I don't think I'll have any trouble using this outdoors. Having a touch screen is also surprisingly handy. There are a LOT of menus on these devices so being able to quickly move through them through the touchscreen saves a lot of time and hassle.

One of the problems I had with my older monitor was that when I went to review the frames I just shot it went black for a few seconds before showing me the images. If you typically only review your images at the end of the day a few seconds delay isn't a big deal but if you're shooting in varying light conditions and like to check your exposure it gets very old very fast. That isn't the case with the Neewer. I click the review button and it immediately switches modes. This way I can check my exposure easily and if I'm working with a model it's a lot easier to show them what we're getting.

I didn't have a battery problem with the last monitor but I imagine this one will chew through batteries much more quickly so the dual NP-F slots on the back is welcome. I shot for about 30ish minutes and one of the batteries went from 100% to 90% with the other still showing 100%. So I suspect there's several hours of shooting with a NP-F550. It looks like there are other options for powering the monitor that I didn't try (I don't have a V-mount battery or a DC source).

The does not come with a sun hood as the copy claims that it's bright enough to not need one. It would have been nice as an option though. There are two mounts for a standard 3/8 tripod mount so you can mount the monitor horizontally or vertically. It comes with a very usable cold shoe adapter which works fine if I'm using LED's but will swap out if I need to use the hotshoe for a flash trigger. So no complaints on the usability side of things.

This was a very good buy. I do find using a monitor to be very helpful even as a still shooter and this was a huge step up from my last model. I'm somewhat surprised I don't see more still photographers using monitors but they are one more thing to look after and it does take up space in your bag. Still, I'll make the room for this.

A Field Monitor Packed With Pro Features and Bright Enough for Outdoor Use

This review is for the NEEWER F600 7" Camera Field Monitor, no battery included. The product came very well packed with several accessories you can see in the images. I won't write about the characteristics of the item because you can read that in the description. I prefer to write on how I use this marvel in the real world.

I primarily use it with my Nikon camera for family portraits, outdoor photography, and occasional videography projects (mostly side hustles to friends). The difference between using the camera's screen and using the F600 is enormous. The 7-inch display gives me a much larger view of the scene, making it easier to check focus, exposure, and composition before I start taking pictures or recording video.

Two days ago I was filming a product review for a friend who is an eBay power seller. Normally, I would record a clip, stop, zoom into the camera screen, and hope for the best. With the F600 mounted on the camera, I can immediately see whether the product is perfectly sharp. The focus peaking feature outlines the areas that are in focus, eliminating most of the guesswork. Setting up focus peaking is easy. I connect the camera through HDMI, open the monitor menu, select "Assist", then "Focus Assist", and enable peaking. Once activated, the monitor highlights focused edges, making manual focus adjustments so much easier.

I also used this monitor outdoors. I live in South Florida and the sunlight here can make camera screens nearly impossible to see. The 2400-nit brightness sounded like marketing candy, but in reality the monitor remained visible even under bright light hitting it. I didn't need to cup my hands around the screen to look at whether the exposure was correct. I did take a few videos too that day and used the Zebra Pattern feature. I enabled Zebra under the "Assist" menu and set the threshold to warn me when highlights are approaching overexposure. This helped prevent reflective surfaces, bright clothing, and even blown-out clouds. I also tested the waveform display but didn't go deeper into it - so many features and I just wanted to try out a few of them.

One feature I still have to try is using LUTs. The monitor includes 3D LUT support. You can load a LUT profile through an sd card. It should help in testing color grading workflows because being able to preview a corrected image while recording definitely makes it easier to visualize the final result without permanently applying it into the footage.

Now the obvious aspects of the screen. The build quality is overall very good. The casing feels a tiny bit on the lower end but it is still sturdy and buttons are responsive. Battery life will heavily depend on screen brightness so pack yourself with a couple NP-F batteries if you plan to record or shoot for a long time.

If I had to find any negatives on this screen, the first one is that the screen is not that suitable for extremely lighter setups, even more so if you attach 2 batteries to it. The second one would be that this particular product, the one used for this review, didn't come with a battery so it immediately adds to the cost of ownership.

Regardless of those two minor flaws, it is a fantastic monitor. The price is right for all what it does. I highly recommend it.

A Bright, Responsive Monitor That Makes Outdoor Shooting a Breeze

Using this field monitor with my Olympus OM-D EM1X. The screen is rated at 2400 nits and it really delivers. Shooting outdoors in direct sunlight is no problem at all, which was my biggest worry. I can see everything clearly without having to shade the screen or squint, and that alone makes framing and focusing so much more enjoyable.

You get all the cables and the cold shoe mount you need to get it attached and running. I had it mounted and connected in just a minute or two. The touch screen is snappy and responsive, way better than I expected. Tapping through menus or moving the focus peaking around feels natural. All the tools you want are here too: center marker, histogram, focus peaking, waveform, and even HDR monitoring. You can load 3D LUTs if you want to preview a certain look while shooting, which is a nice bonus. The connection options are generous. There is full size HDMI in and loop out, plus a headphone jack, and you can power the monitor several different ways which adds a lot of flexibility depending on your rig. The build quality is surprisingly solid for the price. The body feels tough and the buttons have a nice click to them. If you need an affordable monitor that can actually handle bright daylight and comes with everything you need to start shooting, this one is absolutely worth a look.
