Compact, Bright, and Perfect for Toy Photography

As a toy photographer, portability was one of the biggest reasons I picked up the Neewer FS100B, and it has been an excellent addition to my lighting setup. I love how compact it is, making it easy to pack up for shoots or move around my studio. The ability to power it via USB-C is a huge bonus, especially when I’m using a portable power station or want to keep my setup lightweight.

It’s surprisingly bright for its size and works perfectly with the small softbox I bought for it. The light quality is excellent, and it’s more than capable of lighting my 1:12 and 1:18 scale scenes.

Another standout feature is the Neewer app. I own quite a few Neewer products, and I really appreciate how everything works together through the same app. Controlling multiple lights from my phone is incredibly convenient and helps speed up my workflow.

If you’re looking for a compact COB light that’s bright, easy to travel with, and integrates seamlessly into the Neewer ecosystem, this one is an easy recommendation. It’s become one of my favorite lights for both my studio and portable setups.

Must-Have for YouTube Creators

Compact. Portable. Versatile. A must-have for YouTube creators both in and out of the studio. I was looking for a keylight that wasn't too big to mount on my desk, could accept a softbox, was easily adjustable, and wasn't too expensive. This light gave me that and more!

What I like about this product:

1. It's about the same size as my iPhone 17. (A litter thicker, and not much heavier.)

2. Lightweight and compact, it's easy to pack into a purse or backpack.

3. You have options to power it. The AC plug-in or via USB-C with a battery power pack or connected to a computer.

4. You can use it like a battery backup for your iPhone via USB-C.

5. The app works perfectly!

6. Adjustable lighting via the intuitive controls on the back of the light or the app.

7. While it has fans, you don't hear them. It stays cool and quiet.

8. Two mounting options means you can mount it vertically or horizontally on virtually any tripod or similar mount.

9. It's so bright! It can be used indoors or outdoors, and with lightboxes - make sure you have an adaptor or a softlight box specifically for use with this model.

What I wish was better...

1. I wish it had a universal fit for all softbox light accessories, instead of needing to purchase a compatible one or a mount adaptor.

2. It doesn't have an internal, rechargeable battery, so you have to have it connected to DC in studio, or USB-C (computer or charger) to power it. You can purchase separately a NEEWER PH99E or PH74E portable battery for it.

Overall, this is the best light I've ever purchased for the specific use of providing illumination in different light modes for in studio or out to create the lighting you crave. Being able to bend the light to create studio effects with dimming curves is amazing and works very well. The Kelven band of warm to cool light options with extreme brightness works amazingly well.

I couldn't be happier with this light and it's inexpensive enough, I'm considering purchasing a second one. But I do need to also budget for the NEEWER Basics 12" Octagon Softbox with Mini Mount (not Bowens) as it took "Bright" to "Just right" for me.

Compact, with good output and packed with features

This new LED photography light works great. It's compact, yet packs a relative huge amount of power. And it's packed with features, too. Right out of the box, I like that it can be powered either by the included AC wall plug adapter or via USB. The addition of USB makes the whole thing portable as it can run off of any power bank that can output the required power and the runtime is only limited by the battery capacity. And the light output is excellent. It produces a surprisingly bright light that's even and well diffused, especially with the silicone diffuser.

The app is also impressive and well worth the download. It extends the light into many other functions. Some of them are more for amusement, like to simulate lightning or fireworks, but others provide some critical functions that are difficult to duplicate. For example, the app can snap a picture of an active light to capture the color temperature and immediately make the new light match the color. This is very helpful when trying to match up different lights from different manufacturers. The app can also update the firmware on the light, as it did as soon as I connected. Apparently this update tweaked the color curve.

So, for under $100, this light does a remarkable job and is a great value.

My favorite portable COB light so far

This is an amazing light from NEEWER. It became my absolute favorite among all portable COB lights I own.

The body is all aluminum, and heat dissipation is great. It never gets too warm. The included diffuser is also very helpful, and I use it all the time. Power and brightness are absolutely outstanding, and the controls are very easy to use.

I own more than 25 video light products, including LED panels, COB lights, wands, and flashlights. I must say this single product really stands out. It elevates NEEWER as a photography light manufacturer among other very reputable brands. Just well done.

Impressive… definite WOW factor

I've tried many LED lights and several from the Neewer brand, and this one is the most impressive! For its compact size, it's unheard of for a light to be this bright. You would think this was two softbox LED video light panel that Neewer also makes. This light could be an amazing fill light or even a main light depending on the scenario.

You definitely need the silicone diffuser included because this thing gets extremely bright. It can be warm or cool like with the 2700–6500K color range. However, this light reflector does get hot immediately once you turn it on. The light reflector also did not come off (or maybe it's extremely hard to remove) since I could not get it off. It has lighting effects and all the options you would expect from an LED video light.

This needs a power cord and does NOT work without being plugged in (also, you can purchase a battery option that's not included). There is no remote, but this light can connect via Bluetooth to the Neewer app on your phone to be used as a remote. You can mount this on a tripod vertically or horizontally as it has a thread on both sides.

This doesn't have anything left to desire as you can buy a softbox for this as well since it has a Bowens mount. You can make this wireless buying an additional power option. And this light is so compact, it makes shooting/filming super easy without having to whip out your traditional bulky kit. Great travel option but also good for just doing quick shoots, which now takes all my excuses away. The 5-stars are legitimate, a really good light source.

Video note: I was playing around with the light levels to see how powerful the light is and figured I'd include it with this review.

My Favorite Compact Creator Light

I've been using the NEEWER FS60B for YouTube videos, product b-roll, and photography, and it has become one of my most-used lights.

The design is compact and clean, making it easy to fit into my bedroom studio or take with me on location. The build quality feels solid, and it has held up well during regular use.

For a 60W bi-color COB light, the output is impressive. I often pair it with an 85cm lantern softbox and get great results for talking-head videos, product shots, and portraits. The adjustable color temperature also makes it easy to adapt to different shooting environments.

What stands out most is the value. You get good light output, bi-color flexibility, app control, and a compact form factor at a very reasonable price.

Overall, the FS60B is a versatile and reliable light that has earned a permanent place in my creator workflow. If you're looking for a compact COB light that delivers excellent performance without breaking the bank, this is an easy recommendation.

My Starter Light

As a hobbyist photographer, I’m slowly growing my kit. I’ve wanted a light I can use as a poor man’s rim light for a series I’m working on. While I was dubious of this light’s output because of its size, it has proven me wrong. This light embodies the phrase “small but mighty”.

I was also drawn to this light because it was small enough to fit in my bag. I don’t have an intern or helper, so it’s just me lugging my gear wherever I go. This little guy is small enough to fit in my coat pocket if need be.

I like that I can control the temperature and brightness for my projects. The light does get warm with continuous use, so you need to be careful when handling it. The 12 lighting preprogrammed lighting functions are fun.

You have power options with this light. It plugs in the traditional way as well as charging with a usb cable. It holds a charge really well.

The app was a surprise feature. It allows to adjust its features with actually having to handle the light.

All in all, this light enables me to grow in my photography knowledge without having to break the bank.

Small, Compact & Bright

I happen to be a fan of small lights like this one from Neewer. I have a few fixtures from Neewer and you definitely get a lot of performance from their lighting products. This is small enough to pack in a travel kit. For travel, I would recommend using a 99W V-Mount battery to power the fixture and leave the AC power supply (included) back at your studio. It has 1/4"-20 mounting points for attaching to a light stand or magic arm. Controls are fairly straightforward with two push buttons, one for on/off one for mode settings and then two knobs to adjust color temp and brightness. You get all the adjustability you need in a bi-color lamp and they even have the obligatory effects settings that I never seem to need. The kit comes with a cone reflector and silicone diffuser which works well to soften the light output. I would recommend adding the Neewer CHB1 which lets you adapt Bowens mount softboxes which is an improvement IMO over the included cone/diffuser. The app for control of the fixture is very good and I use it with all of the Neewer fixtures I own. Setup of the app between my iPhone and fixture is straightforward and simple. Another great light fixture from Neewer at a very good price. This is going to find a permanent place in my travel kit.

Awesome light for the traveling videographer and photographer

I like this light. I've been using Neewer LED lights for several years. This small light is a great value and very versatile. If you're in the Neewer echo system this is a must for the kit. I wish it came with the Bowens Mount adapter since it is a proprietary mount to Neewer lights as the modifiers are hard to find in stock. It's easy to use and dial in the settings. It works just like every other Neewer and video photography light. It's Neewer app compatible (I won't buy Neewer light unless they are app compatible) so it's easy to manage. Over fantastic light. Great light color quality.

A tiny light that really packs a punch

This little light is something else. It looks small and feels almost too light, but when you turn it on, it basically turns night into day. And then everything in between. I can dial in just a soft glow or crank it up to full brightness and suddenly my whole room looks like noon. The color temperature adjusts from warm to cool really smoothly, so I can match whatever else is going on around me.

What I really like is how simple they made the power options. You get the normal AC adapter, but you can also run it off a V mount battery or just plug in any USB C power bank you already have lying around. That alone makes taking this light anywhere a no brainer. It has tripod mounts on every side too, so you can attach it to almost anything without fighting the setup. The included diffuser is great because now I do not need to pack a big softbox when I travel. And the Neewer studio app works smoothly with it. No lag or weird connection issues, just easy control from my phone. Everything about this light feels like someone actually thought about what people need and left out the extra junk.

Bright, compact, flexible power options

Happy with this little light. Plenty of output for its size, color temperature range is useful, and the controls right on the unit are clear enough that I never needed to install the app to do basic brightness and color temperature adjustments. Fan stays quiet even when it kicks on during longer runs.

The power flexibility is the standout. It accepts the included AC adapter or a regular USB-C to USB-C cable from a standard phone charger, which is great for travel and on-location work. One scenario I couldn't get working was running it from my Nobis 65W USB portable battery bank. Tried both the USB-C and USB-A ports, no dice. Might be a cable issue on my end, still troubleshooting and will update if I sort it out.

A couple of nitpicks. There's no Bowens mount, which is the industry standard for modifiers. Neewer uses their smaller mini mount, and I get the reasoning given the size of this light, but you have to buy a separate adapter if you want to use Bowens accessories.

The bigger one for me is that this isn't really suited as a permanent studio light. If you cut power to it (say, with a master switch that turns your whole setup on and off), the light does not come back on when power is restored. You have to physically walk over and hold the power button. Annoying if your studio or stream is wired to a single party-on switch.

Still five stars. None of that outweighs how useful this thing is for the size and price.

Compact and Powerful LED Light

This LED light is a very solid product with great functionality. The build quality feels sturdy and professional, while still being compact and portable enough to carry around easily for photography or video work.

The brightness is impressive for the size, and the bi-color temperature adjustment works smoothly. I also like the app and panel controls, which make it convenient to adjust settings quickly during shooting. The light output looks clean and consistent with good color accuracy.

Overall, this is a well-designed and reliable lighting setup for studio photography, video recording, or content creation. Very happy with the performance and features.

Bright, flexible, quiet and quite portable

The device itself is small and light enough to mount on just about any tripod or stand you might have. A proper travel case would make this somewhat more portable, but it doesn't seem too fragile so it might do ok in your gear bag on its own. (The shipping box has a foam insert and could be retained for safe storage, but more as long-term storage.)

The back of the lamp has a power button, an intensity knob and a mode button and knob; you can adjust whatever you need to without using the app. If you plan on adjusting brightness in the middle of a shot, the knob would be the way to go; the app's brightness slider is noticeably notch-y when operated.

The app is easy to set up and is what I will use to change modes, what as the app has room for clearer explanatory text. I suppose that once I figure out the common modes, I will skip the app more often.

The modes are extensive and reasonably convincing and adjustable, especially considering the fact that this device is priced more for hobbyists than pros. The light temperatures seem accurate.

The lamp itself has three physical modes (four if you count using it without the reflector — which I would not recommend): The reflector used by itself (for harder light), the silicone diffuser mounted bulging out (for wide diffused light), and the diffuser dimpled in (for more focused softer light). That's plenty of versatility for such a compact unit (I'd say). You could use it with a stand diffuser or reflector, i suppose, but what's the advantage of portability when you've gone to the trouble of lugging and setting up stand units? I won't be using this lamp for that.

If you can plug in, the included laptop-style power block works fine. If you need to go wireless, it will run on a larger battery brick (I wouldn't expect a simple phone charger battery to work well). That said, it will drain a battery pretty quickly at the higher settings (take a look at the attached photo to see the draw I saw at a high setting).

OMG, my boyfriend was shocked by how powerful this tiny light looked during video recordings!

My boyfriend is a youtuber, and he films a lot of videos an podcasts outside his studio and lighting equipment usually becomes annoying fast because large setups are heavy and inconvenient to carry. This light surprised both of us because it stays incredibly compact while still producing very strong output.

The brightness honestly looks fantastic on camera, especially for such a small unit. He has used it for product videos, outdoor shoots, and talking clips recently, and the footage looks cleaner and more professional compared to his older portable lights. The adjustable color temperature also helps a lot because he can switch between warmer and cooler lighting depending on the mood he wants.

Before he started using it, I searched online about CRI ratings and learned why creators care so much about CRI96+ lighting. Accurate colors and natural skin tones definitely make a visible difference in recorded footage.

The app control ended up being much more useful than expected too. Adjusting brightness remotely while standing in front of the camera saves time during filming sessions. He also likes how lightweight it feels when packing gear for outdoor shoots.

Something to keep in mind, the fan can still be heard slightly at higher brightness settings and I wish a portable tripod came included, but honestly, my boyfriend loves this powerful light became one of his favorite tools for portable filming setups almost immediately. Highly recommended!

Impressive Output for the Size With an Excellent App

This is a very capable light for its size. The output is impressive, and it delivers a level of performance that feels much closer to studio gear than you would expect from something this compact. The efficiency is especially strong, and it gives you a lot of usable light from a relatively small body.

One thing that absolutely deserves mention is the app. It is very intuitive and genuinely well designed. The controls feel straightforward, responsive, and easy to understand, which makes adjusting the light much more convenient. A good app can make a big difference with gear like this, and in this case it really adds to the overall experience.

What I like most is the balance between size and power. It is compact and easy to place in tighter setups, yet it still produces strong, reliable lighting that works well for content creation, product shots, and small studio use. For anyone who values performance in a smaller footprint, this light makes a very good impression.

The only reason I hesitate to call it truly portable is that power connection is still essential. Because of that, it feels more like a compact studio light than a grab and go portable solution. It is small and convenient in form, but not as free moving as the word portable might suggest.

Even so, the performance, efficiency, and app experience are all excellent for the size. If you want a compact light with serious output and a very polished control experience, this is a very good option.

Powerful and compact portable video light

This compact video light is impressively bright. When I first turned it on it was at 50% brightness and I it was still bright enough to light up the whole corner of a room. It is very lightweight but seems well made. It is easy to control intuitively with a pair of dials on the front for brightness and color temperature. The display is easy to read so you always know what the settings are, even if it's mounted a good bit above or below eye level.

The light has a reflector attachment that easily mounts on the front and also serves as a mount for the included soft white diffuser that goes over the front of the reflector when a softer light is needed. The light can be powered by the included A/C cord that includes a large power brick and long cord. I prefer to power it with USB C which makes it easy to run off a battery pack. It is also compatible with multiple handle batteries if you're holding the light by hand.

The video light also has a companion app that can be used to update firmware on the light, manage multiple lights from one place, and more. My needs are well met just through the simple controls on the light itself, though I will also use the app for firmware updates.

Overall this is a very bright and good quality video light and seems to be a pretty good value for the price. I'm glad I ordered it.

Really like the APP control and the small size

This NEEWER compact light is very useful - I am using it for in studio work. Portability is not an issue, but the small size and light weight makes it much more versatile in placement. One really good feature is that it is bluetooth controlled. The app connected easily and can control all the features on the light. If you have more than one, you can control them as a group, which is great.

The construction of the device body is plastic. I wish it was something better. The plastic does reduce the weight of the unit. The thread receptacles are all metal which is good.

Note that it needs the included AC adapter to work. There is no built in battery. I have used it with a good USB-C power brick as well.

A very versatile light setup up

One if my favorite light setups. It is light and versatile. The included dome give you options to smooth out light or have it brighter. It can also be pushed in or out to send the light the way you need it It comes with and included c-type cord and it has a ton of power.

The fan keeps it cool during long running times. It is not too loud but you can hear it so be away how you have it set up for recording.

The cap clicks into place nice and secured. You can rig out this light to perform anyway you see fit with diffusers wether large or small. It also had a stand mounting area as well

Overall this is a great buy for the performance you get.

60W Compact Pocket Bi Color LED Light

This little light throws a lot more light than I thought it would. It is rated at 34300Lux. It is bright. I ordered this light to work with my home-built GoBo projector. It works really well. It does throw off a bit of heat when you are pushing it hard. It does get warm. Not hot enough to do damage (IMHO), just fairly warm. It does include a cooling fan that is thermostatically controlled and it can "adjusting fan speed based on the operating temperature". I found the fan to be quiet and un-obtrusive. However, I am old and my hearing has deteriorated so (YMMV).

The COB (Chip-On-Board) light is adjustable for both intensity (in percentage of total available) and color temperature (2700-6500 K). It also has several special effect lighting schemes. Such as "Lightning", "Fire", "TV" and others. I wanted a constant light source that I could run while focusing a projected slide (for background) and composing the shot. My other projector(s) are strobe powered and I am not smart enough to figure out how to focus a projected slide when it is only illuminated for 1/8000 of a second. In any event this little light solved my problem. I can now compose and focus the shot then switch out the COB light for a studio strobe and life is good.

It seems well built, with what appears to be a die-cast aluminum case. That case has 1/4" x 20 TPI brass inserts (for attachment to stands) on three sides and ventilation holes on those same three sides. Installing it on my projector was simple although I did have to purchase a Neewer "mini mount" to Bowens mount adapter. The Bowens adaptor is prominent in the second photo.

This may have been designed and intended primarily for studio lighting, but it solved a problem for me, and I can highly recommend it for others.

A Pocket‑Sized Powerhouse for Studio‑Grade Lighting

The NEEWER FS60B is a compact, 60‑watt LED light that packs more features than you’d expect from something small enough to slip into a backpack. Weighing just two pounds and fitting comfortably in your pocket, it delivers an impressive 34,300 lux of continuous illumination--enough for both studio photography and on‑location video work.

Heat management is one of the device’s most noteworthy aspects. While intense light output can quickly raise temperature, the FS60B counters this with a built‑in cooling system that includes heat‑dissipating vents and an intelligent fan. Because the fan runs automatically when needed, you won’t have to worry about overheating during long shoots.

Power flexibility is another strong point. The unit comes with its own power supply, but it also accepts USB‑C input as long as the source supplies at least 70 W. This means you can run it from a laptop or portable charger if you’re shooting on the go. A reflector and diffuser are included to help shape light for different scenes.

Creative control is where the FS60B shines. The built‑in scene effects (simulated lightning, fire, and more) add dramatic flair without extra equipment. For those who prefer fine‑tuned adjustments, the NEEWER Studio app lets you tweak color temperature from 2700 K to 6500 K and brightness while also enabling sound‑responsive lighting modes.

Mounting versatility is addressed with two standard 1/4‑inch threaded shoe mounts, allowing you to attach the light to a tripod or other rigging system.

This light delivers professional‑grade output for photographers and videographers alike.
