Great pocket flash
Great so far used it all day yesterday, it even took a fall, (rookie move not having weight holding the light stand wind blew it over) powered on and used for about 5/6 hours total still had some juice left

I’m a beginner to flash photography and i found this newer light to be affordable, powerful, and easy to use. Highly recommended.

I wanted to like this flash. Good size for the power you get. But wow, to get it to work is an embarrassing MESS. I was ready to throw this in the pond on my shoot. The commander would reset itself to different settings whenever I turned it off. So I was constantly trying to go back into the commander settings for ID/ OFF and “shoot” OFF. Otherwise it wouldn’t pop. TTL is a nightmare. Never works right. Yes I have the right model, Sony. Any of these are really only useable as a cheap manual flash and manual adjustments on the fly. As you can see in the video. The settings do not transmit. On camera, off camera, it doesn’t matter. I haven’t tried these as an optical slave yet. That’s why I got the remote commander. All in all don’t expect to pick this up as a beginner. I’ve been shooting 15 years and have an issue with these every time I use them

I got this portable flash strobe for on-location shoots where I didn't want to lug around large gear. This easily slid into my camera bag and packs quite a powerful punch! It is super simple to pair up with the included wireless trigger (and i'm not very tech savvy). I was able to angle (and diffuse!) the light from different directions during this woodsy product shoot (compared to an on-camera flash). I'm also planning to incorporate this into my wedding photography work for reception photos where I want to angle/diffuse the flash. The included handle is really high quality with a great dial to screw into the light for better control of handheld shots. Overall, a great addition to my artificial light repertoire!

Is more than $100 cheaper than the Godox AD200 and delivers the same performance, but more value for the money. Basically same 200W flash and you can pay $299 or $160 (currently $200-$40 coupon=$160).
If in the future you change of systems (for instance from Nikon to Sony) you just need to get a new trigger and voila!

I got this hoping it would work seamlessly with my Canon M50, and lucky for me it does. I figured the hot shoe is probably the same on most modern Canon cameras and it in indeed the same even though my camera isn't on their list. Setup was very plug and play, super easy to get it going.
I am just an amateur photographer and am new to this kind of flash, but so far I've had a lot of fun with it. It really opens up my lighting options and allows for more artsy photos. I'm still just using the basic settings, but this has a lot of options to play with once I learn more about it. I think it is a good value and it seems to be well made. The case it comes in fits everything easily without being too big.

The Q3 by Neewer, is a very nice performer in the compact flash/strobe category that can be easily brought along for extra versatility. Here are some of the things I’ve learned while owning it and things to consider before buying.
I. Quality – Its very nice quality overall, but not top of the line. I’d put it in the upper-middle level of the quality scale and guess it should hold up well over time, assuming the electronics survive.
II. Performance – This a great performer for my needs that has been a welcomed addition. The battery is useful and great to help increase its usability, but it could be bigger in my experience. Its bright enough for many occasions and hasn’t experienced any faults. I wish it came with a trigger and it can be annoying at times that other people’s triggers can set it off. I also would have liked to see it come with a 2nd battery.
Overall, this is a great tool that I’ve enjoyed using and its left me happy with my choice in picking it. I’ll be sure to update this review, if I ever start to have problems.
If you’d find it helpful to see a visual demonstration of this product, I recommend you watch my included video in full screen or landscape. They say a picture is worth a 1000 words, well it’s a video!
You can trust that this review is simply my honest opinion that is attempting to provide you with helpful insight that I wish I had before I picked this product. Hopefully it was helpful in your decision.

Connected to my Canon EOS 20D. The menu options on the receiver and very clear. You can set flash time on the receiver and updates on the strobe in real time for both manual and ttl modes. There is a manual input and output trigger. I will be testing those out soon and doing a follow up review there. But so far I'm super impressed with this strobe. The hole for the umbrella can be a bit tight but eventually goes in. The hood of the strobe is a nice touch. The travel case makes transporting to a shoot a breeze.

To start this review, I want to make sure people understand this package doesn’t come with the remote trigger. This is ONLY the strobe light.
Now, about the strobe light, it is about the same size of a regular camera speed light, depending of the brand of the speed light, possibly a little bigger. This strobe light doesn’t have moving parts, doesn’t have a cold shoe mount, and it is heavier than speed lights. It has a 1/4” connector on the bottom and on he side, which can be used to secure it to a tripod, a cold shoe adapter or any other compatible mount, but I wouldn’t recommend using it on top of a camera because of the weight and because of its length/shape which can’t be adjusted like most speed lights.
Based on the specs, the battery should last more than using AA batteries with regular speed lights. At the same time, the light power/intensity is higher than the two speed lights I have. In the included video review, I underexposed my Canon 90D on purpose to make the light different more noticeable when compared to my speed light.
The strobe is pretty easy to use in my opinion, although just like with any type of flash or speed light, if the user is not familiar with what the settings mean, they could be a little challenging.
The display is readable, but in bright environments it could be a little hard to read, at least in my experience. Now, if you’re wondering why would you use a strobe light in a bright environment, I suggest you to look for videos or tutorials about the benefit of doing so.
The material of the strobe light is great to the touch, it seems to be of an anti slip material, but any natural hand oils will leave marks on the surface (which can be cleaned of course).
In general I am pretty satisfied with this strobe light.

Once again, NEEWER has put out another great product with professional features.
We were testing it on the Sony platform and it performed like a champ and with 200Ws of power it fill the room with plenty of light.
TTL mode worked beautifully. Color temperature was definitely stable and consistent at different power levels. Multi 1/4" mounts makes mounting versatile.
LOVE the rechargeable battery pack.... Don't have to carry around AA batteries with this unit!!
The LCD display on the back is very easy to read. We were very pleased with the performance of this flash.

I was looking for a smaller portable Srobe, to use outdoors for portraits without having to hump around my large studio Strobe. the Q3 is definitely what I was looking for, I familiar with Neewer Strobes which is what my studio strobes are. This strobe was well packaged in its own carrying case that holds all its needed equipment, the strobe itself is well built, the battery charged within a couple of hours, and the receiver uses two AA’s I was also glad to see they included the defuser, the adjustment controls and menu are very easy to setup and sync with my canon 7D. Definitely a good buy for those who do a lot of outdoor portraits.
