Good lighting for photos and selfies, but charging isn’t perfect

I bought this light mainly for photography and selfies, and for the price the actual lighting is really nice.

Brightness looks good on camera and helps even things out so pictures don’t look dark or weird. I mostly use it in my room, and it works well as an extra light source. I wouldn’t use it as the only light, but it definitely helps make photos look better.

Battery life has been fine for me — around two hours isn’t bad at all. My main issue is charging. Mine never fully charges past the third indicator light, and even after trying a couple times it just keeps blinking for the fourth. The charging cord it came with is also a bit finicky and sometimes needs to be adjusted to actually charge.

That said, the stands were a nice surprise and worked well, which made setup easy.

Bottom line: The lighting itself is great for the price and works well for selfies and pictures, just don’t expect perfect charging. It’s best used as a supporting light, not your only one.

Bright vivid tones for selfies and upclose video

I picked this RGB camera lamp for general home photography/videography and the price offered was really inexpensive. This lamp is super lightweight with a sturdy build, using LED's and a small USB rechargeable battery (Image 3) so it's very portable and compact. The cold shoe mount point (Image 2) and low weight makes this perfect for a selfie tripod or ring lamp stand. The colors are very bright and visible as accents from a few feet away when filming and the dimmer wheel (Image 4 right) can reduce the tones as needed with a touch. I've used my lamp for 20 to 40 minutes at a time with no battery or dimming issues, and documentation says 100 minutes is expected on a full charge. I really like this lamp because it's handy, colorful, controllable, cable-free and easily mounted on a standard cold shoe or clip mounts (Image 5).

Awesome little light with RGB punch

This thing is seriously impressive for how small it is. Battery life is great – even on max brightness it lasts a good while before needing a recharge. The RGB effects are the real game changer though, letting you add any color you want to your shots or videos with an easy dial system. Super portable, bright, and versatile. Five stars all day.

Compact and convenient RGB light for videos or photography

This is a cute and compact RGB light. I ordered it to attach to my monitor for more customized lighting for videos. I'm attaching several photos showing some of the light color options, and a video clip showing it cycle through some of the colors.

It's easy to use once you get the hang of it. There are a couple of buttons to turn it on and control the mode, then when in the rgb mode, you use the dial on the back to change the colors.

The clip can be removed if you want to use it in a different way, and this should be able to be attached to tripods if using it for photography.

Powerful little guy

So I’m not gonna lie I kind of struggled with this originally. The instructions are not really instructions and then you have to go to a separate website to actually download the instructions which it took me a minute to actually understand how to legit use the RGB and the special effects however, once I finally got it, this is a pretty powerful and pretty good little light. It’ll work well using in smaller places and it is good at illuminating an area. I’ve added a couple of photos of a pitch black garage and just taking pictures with my phone of how bright it is. I can even light up to the back of the room and some of the different colors and how they look at the highest brightness

Great easy to use camera light

When I saw that Neewer released a new product, I was very excited to try this light. Like their other camera lights, this light was built very well with a full spectrum of bright colors and fun modes. Unboxing the light, it felt very durable and premium with its rounded corners so it doesn't poke you. The on/off button gave a satisfying click as the light turned on, and the bright white diffused glow looked beautiful, not like being lit by a flashlight. Spinning the giant dial on the back lets you change the color of the light, making it more warm, or even a completely different color. Overall, the dial worked well to procure the settings that you would want for photography or videography, but I felt it was a little lacking. Maybe my fingers are dry, but it was a little difficult for me to grip and turn the dial without pressing too hard and doing a click. The dial being the primary way to use the light, it was a bit of a shortfall for me. If the ridges were raised a little more or had texture, it could've made the experience better. But overall, I think the light is great value and you can easily get the right lighting easily and quickly with this great product.

A Versatile LED RGB Camera Light

The NEEWER RGB Camera Light, with 126 LEDs Portable Small Panel Light, is perfect for those getting into photography. The ability to switch between multiple different colors depending on your shot is great feature. The scroll wheel for dimming or making the light brighter works smoothly and the ability to mount it to Cold Shoe or clip on it to your phone makes it very versatile. It claims to be magnetic but in my testing it, the magnet inside it didn't seem strong enough to support it so I wouldn't get this LED light if that's how you are planning to use it. Overall, I think this is a great starting LED light with the whole RGB range and i Highly recommend it.

Creative, Compact RGB Light — Great for Beginners in Small Spaces

I've been using this RGB light for video calls, photography, and small video recordings, and I’m happy with how it performs so far. The color effects are vibrant and fun to play with—they open up some really creative possibilities.

In terms of brightness, it’s worked well for me in small indoor spaces where I don’t need intense lighting. While adjusting the color temperature (3000K–9000K) can be a little tricky at first, it’s manageable and fair for an entry-level light.

The battery has held up well—I’ve used it for sessions of about an hour without needing to recharge. Charging is straightforward, and the overall build feels durable and well-balanced for the price.

I had hoped to use the magnetic feature with my MagSafe phone case, but unfortunately, the magnet isn’t strong enough for that. It also didn’t hold reliably to metal surfaces. However, the clip, cold shoe, and 1/4” screw mount options have allowed me to attach it securely to tripods and other setups.

Overall, it’s a highly portable, functional light that feels solid and gets the job done. It’s not a premium product, but it definitely delivers reliable performance for its category and price.

Surprisingly Bright and Versatile Utility Light

Very bright for its size—makes a great utility light. The magnet isn’t the strongest, but it’s strong enough to hold the light in place reliably. The interface is unusual but effective, using a single large dial to adjust brightness and color temperature. It’s made entirely of plastic, but the construction feels thick and durable. Includes every mounting option you could want, and the clip doubles as a short stand, adding to its versatility.

Awesome compact RGB fill light.

I have several other fill lights that I've used before but this one is smaller than the rest and much easier to use. It's also shockingly bright for the small size. My favorite part however is that the wheel style control for brightness and RGB color selection is so intuitive (reminds me of a certain MP3 player back in the day). The light comes with a cold shoe mount and a clip style mount for a phone or tablet. The light also has a tripod mount on the bottom and has three cold shoe mounts for other accessories (like a Mic). I often find myself just using this as a flashlight, the small size lets me grip it in my hand and the adjustable brightness just makes it so versatile.

Nice RGB light packed with features!

This is a great compact RGB light with many features. It uses a combination of the power button and a thumb button that doubles as a rotating switch. The power button switches between Natural light, RGB Light & Flashing. Then you use the thumb button to alternate between levels of brightness or color hue, or in the case of flashing, many various flash settings. The light covers the whole spectrum however i noticed it feels like forever to get through the whole thing lol. The flash patterns can be a little time consuming to figure out too. However it's still a well made, feature packed item that gets pretty bright and adjustable all the way down to nearly off. Im primarily going to use this for still-life photography but can think of a dozen other uses including parties, camping or mood setting. I also like that its USB-C rechargeable and has 3 cold-shoe options, screw in, slide in and clip on. I do wish it had its own case to keep its accessories together but for now its being mixed in with my other camera accessories. Overall, its a good value and functionality to have!

Absolutely Top Notch

This light rounds out the components on my iPhone video/photography Small Rig (see attached picture). It is everything I could have wanted. Once you download the full manual, you will see the full capabilities; with the manual to guide us, it is quite easy to use. One can adjust the light for “white balance” and, if we want to add a color tint, it has a spectrum of colors to use. It attaches three ways. Either by 1/4 thread, by the included clip on, or through its magnetic back. Used off the camera, it can help light us for virtual meetings. And, it has some special effects, like strobes — should that be where one wants to go. This is a great product and I’m very pleased I got it.

User interface needs work

For me, this company has changed from being an unfamiliar generic foreign brand to being one with more name recognition, as I've used some of their products with generally positive results.

Their small video light promised to be a good product, and in many ways it is, but the clunky user interface makes it very difficult to use.

First off, the box came with one sheet of paper of warnings and legal declarations in multiple languages, and a small and not very helpful diagram labeling the product's parts.

I tried to figure out the controls with what information I had. Long press on the power button to turn on and off, I got that. Short press to switch between white, flashing, and color lights, check.

What about that large dial with the knurled perimeter like in those found in the back of DSLRs? And the four LEDs with five icons above them for contrast, minus, ellipsis (dot dot dot), plus and brightness?

More fiddling with the controls ensued, followed by some frustration, so off to the company's web site I went to search for the RGB126 user manual.

That document contained additional comments on what each control does, but wasn't of much help either.

Per the online manual, pressing the power button cycles between CCT/FX/RGB modes, but those terms aren't explained so I'm assuming they mean color temperature, effects (flashing stuff), and Red/Green/Blue, respectively.

That large dial is labeled the Setting Adjustment Button in the manual.

Press it to light up the leftmost LED, the one under the contrast icon, to adjust color temps when turning the dial in CCT mode.

Press it again until the rightmost LED turns on, under the brightness icon, to adjust brightness when turning the dial.

Same thing in RGB mode, except now the contrast LED means you're selecting colors, not temps.

In FX mode, pressing the dial cycles between different types of flashing, flickering and color changing effects including candlelight (flickering yellow), red/blue flashing (like police lights), and one called "TV" (white light changing in brightness, like how a black and white TV lights up a dark room in old detective movies). Turning it changes brightness.

I was never able to figure out what the two middle LEDs are for. I thought the four LEDs together would indicate current brightness level when the unit was not being adjusted, but I didn't see a correlation.

They don't indicate the current mode, either.

The dial doesn't turn very easily and it's hard to get a grip on the slippery knurled surface. If you press hard you could click the button.

On the plus side, it throws out plenty if needed as a video light, and you can adjust brightness down to very low.

You can also have some fun in FX mode, YMMV.

It comes with a 1/4 inch tripod socket underneath and cold shoe slots on the top and two sides for mounting the light or installing attachments. Also included are a USB A to USB C cable for charging (wall wart not included), a nice clip with a tripod screw on top for mounting the light to laptops or straps, and a cold shoe screw thingy for installing the light on a camera's hot shoe.

I has hidden magnets inside for mounting on metal surfaces. I stuck it to the fridge and it slowly slid to the floor.

I'll be using this light for video calls, so I've selected the CCT mode and set the color temperature and brightness levels I need. Thankfully, the unit remembers your last selected mode and its settings, so I won't need to do much more turning of the Setting Adjustment Button.

Good entry level RGB light

Neewer fanboy here. I've got other lights, but wanted one with an RGB option.

The positives here, it comes with RGB, or comes with the usual flicker, TV set, police car kind of flickering, and it just does plain old light up your shot light.

I took a star off for the way you adjust the light. The grey spinny switch is a let down. To change color you spin and you spin and you spin. To the point it feels like you are never getting there. It is odd there is this much adjustment without any way of color matching outside of your eyeball. This is an entry level light, no need for this much adjustability with a difficult adjustment method.

I do like the many mounting methods. There are 3 cold shoes and 1 screw mount. There is a USB c charing and power port, sort of close to a cold shoe. The might end up being blocked depending on what you have on that cold shoe, for example using one of the red shock mounted mics from that company that ryhmes with road block the power port.

Over all a good entry level light with some additional features over just making your shot brighter.
