I love this light. Great battery life, perfect size for portability, the light settings are vibrant and it was a great price as I purchased it near Christmas time. The options for using the threading on both ends for mounting, attaching to another light are perfect; but I love that this is magnetic and makes my options even more versatile.

Fantastic for making product videos. These are kind of small however, and work best for things like figurines or small models/products. If you're doing larger items or people, I would suggest the taller models they make of these. But the controls are very easy to use and will spice up a product video in a jiffy. The quality is also very nice with easily accessible buttons that do not have slop in play. Controls are simple and straight-forward with a mode, power, and selector buttons. Has a couple built-in mode effects and you can manually control the RGB color, saturation, and intensity The base is magnetic and has a mounting screw hole.

I love these lights...bought 3 and use them everytime I shoot a video. They are wide ranging, small, and easily packable for traveling. They are a must if you shoot videos especially if you travel and shot YT videos on the road.
Pros: Price, charge duration, brightness, color range for different effect, small and packable, magnetic or mutiple mounting opportunities.
Cons: distance or throw...its a small area light.
Must have for video accent lighting at a great price. I need to get 3 more for my home studio and travel kit. Small and versatile.

I compared it with a less expensive brand. In the photo, the Neewer wand is on the left. Even though the Neewer I connected two lights, it is noticeably brighter than the other brand, which has three.
Another advantage is the magnetic connection, which makes setup quick and convenient.
One thing I would personally love to see some kind of loyalty discount for returning customers.

For this price, you won't find a better light.
Compact size (the smallest LED RGB light I've seen). The light is high-quality and can be safely used for video and photography. I bought it to illuminate a stage for interviews and product videos. The ergonomics are convenient; you can simply place it on a flat surface and the light will stay put. I really like that this light has a magnet, so it can be easily attached to any metal surface. For this price, I think this light is unbeatable.

These lights are great. I use them for miniature model photos. For ambient light and to help with painting schemes and light reflection for better assurance with painting the models.
They do have a slight learning curve but once you get it down they are super easy to use and charge relatively fast. The colors look amazing and its functions are on point.

I use this daily. For content creation, for brightening up my trailer when needed, I don’t typically use the color changing but it’s been nice to be able to warm up or cool down the lighting.

Nice range of brightness to darkness. So many features, I think they will be great as backup lighting and the fact that you can have multiple lights and control. Each one is absolutely game changing for this price range.

Had it plugged into a normal USBC charger and after a few minutes, it caught on fire. Burned a hole in the side of the casing. Looks like a faulty chip on the board inside.

Super worth the price. The battery lasts longgg too, I use it as a night light and put it on overnight and it doesn’t go off.
Lasts about 3 hours when in full brightness too.
I love that the brightness is adjustable, it comes with several modes and several colors and effects. My favorite is the candle light.
I lovee that this item is magnetic, so very versatile for creatives, also has a mount hole, so perfect!
This light is strong, durable and compact.
I don’t know if it’s water proof but used it in a mild water shoot and it’s still strong.

Handy, convenient, fun and easy to transport and use. Here's my gig...I dog sit. I am in somebody's dining room which has a bright, bright light. And I have 5 dogs in the living room all being drowned out by the ruthless light from the dining room. It makes them a bit cranky. Here's my other gig, I work outdoors at shows. Often without proper lighting. Either way, this little buddy makes seeing while I'm writing cards or doing my schedule on the dining room table possible so I can turn off the dining room light and let the dog's sleep. OR....helps me get that signature while I'm working a credit card machine. Yeah, people still need to be able to see what's going on even if we can use our phones and watches to pay for everything. This little light is also magnetic. Find a pole. If that won't work...it lends itself to a thread mount so you can use a tripod for a little light (I have a GoPro handheld tripod that'll work just fine, some other generic tripods too) Keep in mind in has 1/4 inch threads for mounting on a tripod it DOES NOT however CONTAIN mounting screws it the package. There's an illustration of the screw you'll need to make a long stick, but the screw(s) themselves are not provided. You do get a USB C charging cord. A very cool light. What would have made me give this product a 5 star? Two double sided "out-tee" screws...so you could buy multiple sticks and mount them to create one long stick. Not that I need it...but it's a fun option and do-able. You'll just need to find the hardware.

These are freaking fantastic. I wish I had gotten the longer ones. Pretty good brightness. All the colors. The only color that I don't like is purple because it's not purple enough but you can edit a blue or something to be more purple in Photoshop/Lightroom or whatever you use. When I say it's not purple enough, I mean it's like a washed out purple. It's like pale purple, lilac or something. Value for money I would say is decent. Could hold a charger longer but holds long enough for a full photo session or two.

So easy to use, battery life is a few hours, used for a photo shoot and i bought two, the light app made it so easy to change colors and it was a free app. So worth it. Easy to install on a tripod just screws on the top. Love all the settings . Perfect for photography, a fun Ike, just a cool vibe. Did a boudoir photo shoot for my bestie whose getting married , this photo is using two lights, both on tripods, one color set to blue the other was set to pink which created warm highlights, cool shadows and some purple.

this is a great light and can easily compete with much more expensive ones. It is super- bright on full power and can be tuned down to any desired brightness level in 1% steps. The menu is very easy to follow and the sequence of button presses for the various functions is very easy to follow. I didn't even have to read the manual :-)
But these 4 buttons are also what I have a minor issue with. they are black on black and hard to see, especially in low-light conditions where I am most often use the light. I fixed it by putting a tiny piece of white-silver self- stick vinyl (cut from a sticker) on them. now they stand out much better

I own a ton of lights from Neewer and I do won two of those RGB lights but they are 1/2 the size of this one. So I was very happy to see a larger version of this light. I keep then in my bag to accent corners and sometime even light a scene (more of a intimate lighting when I can get close to my talent.)

This small RGB bi color LED light is an excellent accessory for your videography needs. One thing that is very nice about it, is the compact size. Putting a light like this in your camera bag is a simple proposition, because it hardly takes up any real estate. The light is extremely simple to navigate, and learning the functions are very intuitive. If you've ever operated a light similar to this one in the past, you'll have no trouble understanding how this one works. I didn't read any manual on it or anything like that, and figured it out in half a second. The light is also fairly bright for its size, and excellent as far as the color temperature range is concerned. You can go from very warm at 2500K two very cool at 8500k. Of course being an RGB light, you can use it to illuminate your scene with all the colors of the rainbow. You also have preset modes that can create effects like lightning, a flickering TV, and other such scenes. It's also magnetic so you can stick it to any metal surface, though I did deduct one star because I found the magnets rather weak, and didn't do a great job of holding the weight of the light. As far as the light is concerned from its capabilities to illuminate, it's very impressive for its size. The opaque white plastic that covers the LED's does a decent job of diffusion, and softens the light a little bit. The screen on the back is easy to read, and well laid out. The buttons on the back are also easy to understand, and easy to navigate. All in all, it's a very good light that is well designed, extremely small and compact, and fantastic for many scenarios. The price of these RGB lights have really come down over the years, so I think this light presents excellent value at its price point. I would recommend it.

I just got these lights tonight and they're amazing. They're insanely bright for their size, you can adjust the color vibrancy and brightness. They're really compact too, like the size of you hand so great for bringing on shoots. The magnets on the back work great and the lights can screw right onto my tripod. NOW, the last greatest thing about these is the battery life, Ive left them on 100% brightness now and started a timer, they're still going after 3 hours and stil says I have 1/3 battery life left. Insanely good product especially for its price point.

Great product. I like them, and they work fantastically as a hair light, and background accent lights. The magnetized sides are quite nice. I’ve stacked the two I have for additional effect. They they don’t quite match in color though. One is slightly warmer even at the exact same color and intensity settings.

NEEWER was really thinking about what to do right when manufacturing this item. Here’s what’s good, broken down by category:
Performance: This light wand is exceptional in performance. It is quick to charge, has a long lasting battery, and makes photos and video look so much cooler. It may be tiny in size, but it is brighter than some of my full sized light wands. The magnet across the back allows for this to be mounted to different surfaces, including tripods, which to me has been a game changer. This light covers every color on the spectrum, and while the solid colors look great, the flashing colors add a level of versatility that you can’t get just anywhere. The buttons may be confusing to understand at first glance, but they’re actually really easy to understand if you read the instructions. The best part is you can actually pair these up with different lighting through using the tripod thread hole – you can even connect multiple of these light wands together to create one massive one!
Productivity: Having lighting like this allows for way more versatility in photos, if you know how to use it right. And if you don’t quite know how to use a lighting wand quite yet, then learning with one of these would be beneficial!
Price: Handheld light wands are very expensive in the current market, even small handheld ones like this. Even more-so surprising is that this is a well-known established aftermarket camera accessory brand, and I would expect their products to be more expensive. This item, being priced at $29.99 at time of review, is very affordable and is a great price considering how valuable this item is.
All things considered, this lighting wand is incredible. It may be small, but it has huge capabilities.

Unless you are doing some macro shots, you are going to need a more powerful light and this one can be used as fill light or as background for ambient light.
Easy to use and small to carry around but lacks of brightness.
Still a good addition to your camera bag.
What The Tech
Neewar makes some quality camera gear and this mini portable light stick is no different. I like that it illuminates in a variety colors and brightness, the OLED screen on the back is bright and easy to read. The buttons to configure your preferred lighting conditions are easy to use and navigate. The built in magnet works great (see photo of light on fridge). The light stick has mounting holes on both ends as well. While this is advertised as having many different light modes, I think for most use cases you will probably only use 2 of them. The rest of the lighting modes are more of a gimmick in my opinion, or a very niche use case if that is what you are looking for. For practicality purposes, this mini light stick will give you a better light than what is on your cellphone or maybe even certain cameras. The color light will give you some slight accent lighting, but don’t expect similar results as a full blown light stick. If you need a compact, portable and very capable light stick, this is a good one.

Right off the bat opening it out of the package the light stick has a weight for its size that feels like quality.
The battery indicator on the light was at 3 out of 3 bars so I left it on after trying out all features and playing with some of the light effect modes during a 3 hour and 40 minute window afterwards the battery was depleted.
The lighting effects are fun and there are a lot of them. I have normally never used them besides possibly the "TV" mode witch switches between brightness levels at a higher looking kelvin.
For the size of light it is a little brighter than I thought it would be but not super impressive, but I think it would be useful for tighter shots that could be used for small effects and eye lights.
For the price range it is a decent piece to add to ones overall production kit. I myself might actually use it on my camera cart since I am in the camera dept there are many times on set the area is dark and a work light would be handy, using the red color could be helpful for non intrusive usable light.
Many times we add a small light such as this to had a small glint in the actors eyes on close ups and can attach easily to the actual camera.
Honestly nothing really to complain for the price and its ability.
The General
This is a small light of about 4.25-inches in length. BUT for its small size, the light output is VERY bright. It’s enough to be used for most photography light boxes (see my images). You can use it as a video camera light as well. At just 25% brightness, the video camera will be able to see everything in 0-lux (pitch blackness) ambient light.
You can adjust every single color of hue + saturation levels. You can adjust brightness from dim to max light if you want. It states 2 hours of battery life at maximum brightness output and I was able to get around 1hour, 55minutes with a single charge.
It comes with 20 lighting effects that you can choose from (see my video). Those are more for “fun” or in case of some emergency (car outage at night, etc). It’s plenty bright to see from 200ft away easily. Especially when it is in flashing patterns, there’s no way you do not see the distraction at night time light levels.
I used it in a soft box to demonstrate the amount of light you can get and it’s decent. It’s at the limits of brightness level, however. You would need something that is around 8-10watts brightness for a nicely lit soft box. This one is around 6watts max. Not disappointing at all, however.
There are some lightweight magnets to the side that you can grip onto any steel surface. It’s handy when you need to use this say for under your vehicle hood work when you are in trouble. It also has two 1/4-inch screw adapters for 1/4-inch screw mounts. This comes in handy for tripods and cold shoe mounts.
Bottom line is this is one really useful lighting device. It can be used for photography and video, emergency situations, party lighting, and you can get a bunch of these at this low price ($30 w/20% discount) at the time of this writing and chain them up individually to set up a 3-way lighting scenario. The built in battery is long lasting enough and with the tripod mounts you can use them while camping too.
Comes with usb-c charging cable and the light itself. I’d like for this to be IPX6 rating at least so I can use it while it’s wet outside. I don’t expect water-proofing but would be useful for water resistance. The OLED display is nice and bright and gives the light a hi-tech look appeal. Buttons are easy to press and functions are easily adjusted using the few buttons available. Manual includes pictorials so even the ones who can’t read will understand.
There’s just an endless amount of ways you can use this light - best of all easily mountable and the durable plastic enclosure is robust. There’s no glass so nothing to shatter either. Mount on a bicycle and you can have a decent light output too. Just too many ideas to use for!
