I order this microphone to use with my cell phone. It's a phantom mic which power from the device used with, a plus over rechargeable. It came with audio cables to connect to cell phone, DLSR camera and video camera. Very light weight. Sturdy construction, not plastic like others. Only downside is audio recordings have massive static requiring editing. Decent buy for the price.

Solid value for the price, I purchased this mic to go on my action camera to film outdoor videos. I have done a bunch of testing inside and plan to do more outside soon. Quality punches in above the price point for sure!

The audio quality is excellent. I have another mini shotgun mic and compared to that one, this one is 10x better. I was very surprised with the audio quality. It picks up audio extremely well too, even while talking quiet. As a shotgun mic, it picks up audio the best when it’s pointed directly at the audio source and it’ll pick up some audio from the sides, but it gets much quieter. It picks up audio from the back too, but hardly any, which is just want you want from a shotgun mic.
The shock mount works perfectly and prevents the mic from picking up sound from whatever it’s connected to. You can move around all you want and it won’t pick up vibrations.
If you want to significantly improve the mic quality on your phone or camera, this is a great portable option.

Nice microphone for your phone, camera, vlogs, etc. It comes with two different covers, to reduce background noise and wind interference. Many different connectors, depending on what you are using it with. The instruction booklet comes in many different languages. Works well, and the covers work well in limiting interference. Not sure they are up to professional standards, as I am not a professional, but they work for me!

I've been a voice over artist for 40 years, and I've used and reviewed my fair share of microphones. These days, I mainly record for social media using an iPhone 16 Pro Max. Why would you want to use an external microphone when the built-in mics are already quite good? Because you'll always pick up some ambient noise, as well as the room acoustics, resulting in what they call "flutter echoes" making your audio sound too resonant and less dry.
If you wish to be clearly understood, you need a mic that isolates your voice from the background and that's where shotgun mics such as this one, come in. A good shotgun mic has a tight pickup pattern, meaning it will zoom in on whatever you're pointing it at, like a laser beam. This model has a super cardioid pattern and that means it is made to filter out unwanted background noises.
Now, a lot of social media creators have started using small, button-sized wireless mics that will allow you to walk away from the phone you're recording with. With this VM10 Neewer mic, you'll have to stay relatively close to your recording device, or talk louder if you wish to be heard. The theoretical advantage with this mic is that, because it is plugged in, you'll have a solid, wired connection. Wireless mics may glitch because of a bad connection between the microphone and the receiver.
Compared to other small shotgun mics I have used, this model is quite "hot," meaning the signal to noise ratio is pretty good. The sound is clear and neutral, without a lot of lower frequencies that could muddy the sound. Please note that you won't be able to monitor your sound levels in real time because you cannot plug in any headphones for direct feedback. You'll have to make adjustments in post.
Some portable mics come with an app, allowing you to change the gain and even the pickup pattern (or add compression), but not the VM10. It does come with two wind muffs and a couple of cables, as well as a shockmount. The camera audio cable allowed me to connect this mic to my SONY RX10 M4 camera which is a plus. Now, here's the strange thing. With what's in the package, you won't be able to connect this mic to a hot shoe. You'll have to buy a separate hot shoe mount (see pictures). It's a small price to pay, but an omission nevertheless.
Overall, this mic offers good value for money, but a few improvements would make it even better.

If you're looking for an affordable microphone for streaming or camera recording, the Neewer Plug & Play Vlog Microphone is a solid pick. Right out of the box, it’s super easy to set up—just plug it in, and you're good to go. The sound quality is surprisingly good for the price. One of the best things about this mic is its versatility. It comes with both a 3.5mm TRS connection and a USB-C adapter, making it compatible with cameras, smartphones, and even some laptops. Additionaly, it comes wwith a 3.5mm TRS connection to lightning for previous iPhone models.
For the price, the build quality is decent, though it's mostly plastic. The included shock mount helps with minor vibrations. A furry windscreen is included for outdoor and a foam filter is included for indoor recordings.
Overall, if you need a budget-friendly, plug-and-play microphone for vlogging or casual use, this one is a great choice!

This is a nice package for the money. You could end up spending a decent amount of $ on just the wind filter that is included with this kit, so to get everything you need in one box is a good deal.
This is not the best microphone out there, which should not be a surprise to anyone. However, it is a big upgrade from using the onboard microphone on your camera!
If you are going to shoot even a little bit of video, I'd highly recommend this kit or something like it. It didn't make sense for me to spend thousands on camera equipment... but do nothing to improve the audio!
Also, this is good at elimination of any sound from a cooling fan (if you are using one for 4k video).
The cables included are long enough to get pretty far away from the camera, but it still works great directly on the hotshoe.
Only complaint... the mic mount is a bit wobbly. See vid.

If you are looking to improve the sound quality of your videos or sound recordings, this is the mike kit to get. Almost all of the connectors you could possibly want to connect this mike to whatever sound inputs you have.
Only connector combination missing is male mike jack to old style USB but I can purchase an adapter or cable for that. Why? This mike's sound quality is much better than the mike contained in my webcam which is my default mike and it has better sound quality than my lavalier mike. I can easily rig it to attach to my clothing. Including a clip that converts it to a lavalier mike might be a useful addition to the kit though.
Something else that I can fabricate is a short all thread 1/4-20 rod that can attach the female thread of the mike attachment to the female thread of cell phone holders. Such an addition to the bag of accessories would make it possible to attach the mike to many of the cell phone holders that have additional female threads for attaching other accessories. Also makes it possible to adjust the rotation of the mike. A better option though would be something like a ball and socket mike stand adapter with 1/4-20 male threads on both ends. This could be offered as an improved or optional mike holder that would permit attachment of the mike to many other kinds of kinds of microphone and camera accessories with 1/4-20 threads and also make positioning of the mike possible in many more ways.
Build of the mike unit itself is excellent. Super specs: 20-20,000. You won't be able to hear most of the upper range, but your dog and cat will definitely give this unit a thumbs up. Wait. Dogs and cats don't have thumbs.

This is a great mic for ambient audio. When I played back the recordings I made, they sounded just like it did the first times. The build quality of the mic feels really good. However, the shock mount seems a little on the flimsy side. The dead cat is nice and thick. I reccommend this microphone.
