I really enjoy my Birdfy and watching the different birds that visit. I use hot pepper seed which keeps the squirrels away so I just get birds. Cardinals, blue jays, finches, nut hatches, woodpeckers, doves, and more. The feeder is pretty easy to take apart and clean. I have mine on a pole which works great.
I have also found customer service friendly and responsive.

I loved this feeder so much I bought another, as well as a hummingbird feeder and bird bath. $1000 later, only one continues to work regularly. All of the others have ended up with charging issues. They are great about replacing products when under warranty. But when the replacement will also eventually stop charging, that is only a bandaid to the problem.

Love love love this camera so much so that I soon will have a third! Not only is the camera fantastic with super clear crisp images real time but their customer service/support is bar none the best! When my original camera stopped working after 2 years I reached out to Birdify! Wow, amazing help all around so I am adding an additional camera. They are weather resistant even in snow we can watch the birds and wildlife. This camera is a great price and when placed at a reasonable height, so easy to refill from the back!
Again, the customer service team has been nothing short of excellent and helpful. Would 1000% recommend getting any version of this camera!❤️ 🐦

I love this bird feeder! Great close up pictures of all birds. Easy to install. Holds a lot of seed. Easy to clean.

It’s like Pokémon go with real birds. I love checking to see what the animals are up to. My cat loves watching the birds lining up for their turn. The other day 7 or 8 finches were waiting for a snack. It’s super fun and easy to use.
Now, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. The AI identification feature requires a subscription which is lame and I won’t use. I can look them up or do an image search. Kinda a weird money grab. Also, what they don’t tell you about the solar panel. It’s a good perch for birds. Birds that like to take dumps on the nice black panel. So you’re going to be cleaning bird crap off the solar panel. Be ready for that.

Super fun gift and I’ve loved all of the videos and knowledge I’ve gained since owning this! It also doubled as additional security for your home! Birds of all sizes have been able to feed from it and it’s very easy to fill up! We put the solar panel out as well so we’ve only had to charge the feeder once in the almost year we’ve owned it! It’s cute to look at but still minimal that it’s not an eye sore for our house! Looks just like the advertised photo. The app is extremely user friendly and the camera quality is fantastic!!

I am finding this VERY difficult to figure out. Says can’t scan the wr code. Tried to manually enter, not recognized. I was not given an option for lifetime id. The QR code did not allow me to download the app. The app wanted me to sign in w my email. Would not take my email password. Reset my password. Still would not recognize it. Your app QR code would not download. By a fluke I realized it wanted my apple Id password. Had to struggle with that. Now it won’t scan or recognize manual number. Found the email saying you guys have it registered but the app is still trying to scan. Now 4-5 hours into this hellish process. OMG! At 72 I am not techie! Your paper instructions are vague. The small QR code on the box doesn’t match the qr on the side of the camera. The qr on the side of the camera doesn’t clear the plastic housing so it won’t scan. AAAARRRRGGGG! Stuck stuck stuck. No one answered chat in 2 h.
“Scan QR code to join fb group. “ Which QR code? Where? There are several none took me to fb. Not one of the QR codes did anything. No functionality that I could get to. Went to utube. Duh, I could put it together. Putting it together no big deal. Wi fi? How does it do that? I can’t get into the app past “scan for QR code”. If I’m away from home how do I get to see what is happening on the feeder? The adds said nothing about certain WiFi works come done. Dual channel wi fi? What is that? How the heck do I know what 2.4 GHz is? Or 5g? Isn’t 5g a cellular thing? If I’m out of state how do I access my feeder? I’m sooo frustrated.
All Hail Caesar!
This is all I had hoped it would be! The video is so clear and the sound is amazing. I love getting alerts when the birds are active.

We are extremely frustrated at this point. We have been trying for over a week to get this bird feeder to stay connected, with repeated help from customer service through both email and chat. Each time, it will work for a day, then needs to be charged and completely stops working again, forcing us to go through the entire troubleshooting process all over.
We have even moved the feeder directly beside our router, and it still will not stay connected. We have also asked whether upgrading to the Pro model would resolve this issue or what other options are available to us, but we still do not have a clear or lasting solution. This has been a constant issue and is becoming unacceptable given the time and effort we’ve already put into trying to make this product work.

If you like seeing the beauty of birds up close and personal, learning about different species and discovering that each specie has different characteristics and personalities just like us humans, this smart bird feeder by Birdfy is for you. It is very easy to setup as well as clean. The camera is clear and the quality is very durable. It will withstand the weight and roughness of unwanted critters, which sometimes you can’t prevent but they are fun to see anyway.(I had a raccoon and it didn’t break the perch)In addition to the occasional pest, I get several bird species daily and thanks to AI recognition I have learned there are so many birds that stick around in the winter. I also love the solar panel option. My feeder stays charged all the time so I don’t miss anything. I would highly recommend this feeder to birdwatchers of all kinds. Worth every penny.

I love this bird feeder. I am on my second one as my first one was great abused by a hurricane.
I look forward to our daily visits and sharing with my friends.

So much fun!! I can see my little hummers feeding. The app alerts me when there is action so I can watch or save it. I had no trouble setting g up app. The only thing that could be better is the food resevoir as it is difficult to reinstall back on feeder without spilling it

Bought this for my husband for Valentine’s Day
To say he was underwhelmed is putting it mildly, but once he discovered what it does and how it does it, he has completely fallen in love with it
What’s even funnier is the deer love it as well - so when we were wondering, what was cleaning out our birdseed, we found out quickly
It also doubles as a security camera for our back door which we find quite amusing and an unintended consequence

We love watching the footage of birds every day. This beautiful cardinal comes every day and he looks like his leg might be broken. We have seen so many beautiful birds we love how well built it is and how great the camera is.

I originally gave this 1 star and wrote the review below, however the company contacted me and wanted to make it right by sending us a new style mounting pole and a new designed feeder which I think was a reasonable resolution. Unfortunately we cannot mount a pole as there are too many tree roots and it would interfere with the lawn cutting which is done at speed with a zero turn mower. I declined the offer as it would not work for us however I believe the company has at least tried to make things right and I have upgraded my rating to 3 stars. For us this would probably never work as it is too near a busy walkway so it would get triggered by false non-bird triggers however this may work for others with a different installation scenario. I do not know if there are any more smarts in the new product software but non-trigger areas and algorithms that cause it only to trigger for small birds is really a must for this type of product just as parcel detection and person detection are part of the Ring Doorbell software. Overall I think you need to review what you want and how to use it before purchase, but Netvue did respond and try to make our situation good and that is commendable.
We wanted a tree mountable bird feeder with camera to cellphone app. This states it does that IT DOES NOT. None of the pictures anywhere show it tree mounted with solar panel and if you look at my pictures you will see why. The device comes with a strap for tree mounting but it has no ratchet just a non return clamp. Even when tightening with tools the strap is too thin and slack and allows the feeder to dangle at 35 degrees from vertical so all the seed falls out. Worse still the solar panel has no included tree mount. How can you tree mount and use the included solar panel without a mounting? I decided to mount it on a piece of wood and trap it behind the strap and put a piece of wood behind the feeder to make it more vertical. That still didn't work so I got out a trailer tie-down ratchet strap which could apply enough force to hold both securely to the tree. That is when we discovered nothing holds the feeder stationary. You can quite literally spin it around very freely. When you plug in the USB cable from the solar panel, that cable takes all the strain to prevent it rotating. What a TERRIBLE design. There were zero I mean absolutely nothing included to manage the excess cable or the excess original strap. What the heck you do with 3-4 ft of cable if you mounted it on anything less than a 5ft diameter tree I don't know and the supplier clearly couldn't care what an appalling mess mess it looks even after applying velcro cable mounts supplied by me. I could have cut the ratchet strap and removed the supplied strap if that was all the issues but having no way except the cable strain to prevent it rotating and the extremely messy looks was game over for us. We did however try it. We already have security cameras - if we wanted a security camera we would have bought one. This does not have any smarts or algorithms and treats everything as a bird, including ladybirds on the feeder or my wife, me or the Fedex guy walking past 10 ft away etc. Beyond useless and very annoying. It did connect to a cellphone. Overall this is a very badly designed very cheaply made poor quality heap of junk that I will be returning tomorrow. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. We have multiple successful tree mounted bird feeders already - they are not difficult to design. With squirrel, deer, racoons and bear they are hung in the trees with squirrel domes overhead and all work well. This product has no way to hang it and would succumb to the local wildlife within weeks. VERY disappointed - this was my wife's Christmas present.

This bird feeder is so great!!!
I bought it for my mom's birthday and she absolutely LOVES it!
First of all it is solar so you don't need to have a power outlet. If it does die because of several very cloudy days you do have to remember to go out & turn the camera back on.
You can subscribe to an service thay will tell they type of bird that visits the feeder. It is easy to refill and looks nice.
Setup is not super easy, we had to find a YouTube video to help. We had an issue after a couple of weeks and the customer service chat was excellent! We got the problem fixed and they were nice and quite patient.
You do need a 2.4mhz wifi line. If you don't already have one it is possible to split a 5 but you may need to contact your internet company to do it for you if you rent your router. It wasn't difficult but it did take me a while to figure it out.
There are some cool features (see the dark video) - the buttons at the bottom of the screen are a speaker (turns volume on/off), light bulb (there is a light you can turn on at night of you need to), bell (a loud alarm for unwanted critters or even people), auto (has to do with the picture quality), microphone (you can speak from your tablet through the bird feeder)
They don't have many squirrels so I don't know how it does with them.
Overall I think think this is a great gift that anyone who loves birds will really enjoy & I highly recommend this product!

I knew I would get squirrels along with the birds, which is fine. The video clarity is fabulous. The notifications are so much fun to be able to see them up close with such clarity in the video and picture has been so much fun for the entire family. My next step to relocate the camera so I can put a squirrel baffle on it but for now we’re all just enjoying being a big happy wild bird, squirrel, raccoon, possum and deer family!!

I will preface this by saying I am a young- midlife (30s) animal lover who enjoys watching birds. I also work in software development.
Pros:
This setup is a breeze.
The camera has great quality.
The solar panel works great.
The accessories attach easily.
It’s held up against wind and storms.
Secondarily it’s a good quality security camera
Birds come here frequently and I love it.
My complaint is not with the product. My complaint and removal of 2 stars is because the Birdfy app is horrible and the customer service non existent.
Cons:
The app crashes a lot. Most comically when in a live chat with customer service so I keep getting disconnected from help.
I sent multiple emails to CS and never got a response. Not even a generic one.
The app notifications of activity stopped working. I can’t figure out why. All my settings are correct.
I regularly get video playback failed messages (see photos) that never self correct so videos are just unwatchable forever
When looking at photos and videos on the Moments page, the app regularly starts displaying the same photo and video preview for all moments so I can’t tell which ones I’ve seen or not
You can tag moments to collections (I do this based on bird type) however removing the tags if made incorrectly never works and there is no feature to edit tags so your collections are forever stuck inaccurate.
I never saw an option to purchase a bird identifier subscription which other apps have and would be nice. There is a free app from Cornell that identifies birds by sound and that has been helpful to use.
Overall the product is good. The app is terrible but free. I would not recommend this product to anyone who isn’t good with technology as the app can be very frustrating however if you just want live stream and not to collect or save your bird photos then it works good enough!

I purchased this bird feeder camera for my father and he immediately loved it. He will not stop sending me pictures of the birds that the feeder camera has captured. He even purchased some extra attachments for a humming bird feeder from the company.
That being said there are a few things I would note:
- Image quality is actually quite spectacular when you are viewing the camera live. However, when it takes a picture of the bird it does get slightly more blurry but still good quality. It’s likely just due to the bird being in motion.
- Solar panel: If you bought the version with the solar panel make sure you put the feeder in a location with direct sunlight. The first place my feather chose was slightly shady and he found that the camera was dying quickly. Once he moved it to a sunnier location it stays charged.
- Siren: The siren function is a cool feature but it doesn’t seem to actually bother the squirrels that are stealing a snack from the bird feeder. You can talk through the camera and I find my dad often trying to make his own noises to scare squirrels and white winged doves off.
-AI: The AI bird recognition function costs extra. It’s a subscription cost that my father was more than willing to pay extra for.
Overall, extremely happy with this purchase!

I ordered the Birdfy for my mom for Christmas because she has grown a fondness of bird watching in her retirement. I was happy to see that the bird feeder was easy to assemble and came with a solar panel to recharge the battery. I did have to help my parents activate the account using the QR code on my mom's phone but then I had the added bonus of putting the app on my phone so I can see the birds as well. The only downside of the feeder was a battery issue we had with the first camera. My dad put the feeder out in the Spring when it was cloudy and the battery ran all the way down and then wouldn't recharge. Netvue replaced the feeder and it's been working great. My mom sends me texts with all the new birds she sees in the app!

We aren't really bird people, but we've become obsessed with the video feeder! Great video quality and having the AI option to identify the types of birds has been very useful. The structure of the feeder is substantial and has held up well to the wind and rain.
Trying to get the camera to read the QR code on my phone to connect to the wifi as a bit of a challenge. Just be sure to do it prior to filling it or taking it outside. Pro tip: I highly recommend turning off phone notifications, or at least opting for fewer notifications. The first morning, I started getting alters every 30 seconds before 5 am.
I highly recommend this feeder - you will not regret it!

This is pretty cool and a good way to start your entry into bird identification. The AI recognition doesn't always get it right, but it is definitely helpful. My only two gripes are 1) the price + subscription (for AI recognition) seems steep. If I'm paying a monthly fee for something, I shouldn't be paying a premium for the original purchase. Either lower the cost of the birdhouse or lower the cost of the subscription. They'll likely drop the cost of the subscription when they realize people aren't renewing. 2) the notifications can get out of control! I had to turn it off and just go to the app every once in a while to look for anything new or interesting.

The Birdfy feeder has been amazingly fun to watch so far. We had tried setting up a camera in our yard to capture birds at the feeders but it was never quite close enough or in focus to do the job. This camera gets up close and personal with your backyard bird friends. The pics are very detailed and clear. I love watching the video clips to hear the songs and chatter of our various backyard visitors. Although sadly the videos are only ten seconds long and I couldn't figure out a way to adjust their length. But it does start up new clips right away so may see multiple clips of the same bird visit. I did end up catching a few birds on video that I hardly ever see in our yard such as a blue bird and a red winged blackbird which was a nice surprise. Usually we have very frequent visits at the feeders at our house so the battery did drain quickly. I also had to turn off alerts from the app on my phone because they were almost constant and draining my phone battery quickly. Because of the quick better drain on the Birdfy itself, if you have many bird visitors, I highly recommend this model with the solar panel otherwise taking down the feeder weekly to charge can be inconvenient. I also tried the free trial of the AI to identify birds. Typically the AI eventually got the bird correct but some of the initial alerts from the app were hilariously incorrect. No way do we have wild cockatoos in the midwest US! I think the AI feature has potential but needs some adjusting especially for likely birds at your location. The initial setup for the feeder was super simple overall and it attached securely to a post where we already had feeders with a baffle to deter squirrels and raccoons. The feeder and camera seems pretty sturdy and well built although I do have some concerns about the perch as it seems a bit on the flimsy side. Before installation outside, I did have some difficulty charging the camera but I think I was using the incorrect cable. I never figured out exactly what the precise issue was. But the camera has been charging outdoors with the solar panel just fine. It is also easy to adjust the solar panel separate from the feeder to get a good sun angle. Overall I do recommend the feeder for a fun way to get an up close view of your backyard birds. I think it would be a great gift for someone who may not be able to frequently see and hear the birds outdoors.

I have always enjoyed birdwatching but could never get the full experience without binoculars. This camera is amazing and allows you to get the full experience at or away from home. I have had so many birds visit the camera as they were already used to other feeders and food I had up in the area; it took no time for them to visit! Of course, I also get to see a couple squirrels for which the corn I give them isn’t enough and have also caught both a possum, raccoon and stray cat on the camera! Up next is to purchase the hummingbird attachment!

I looked around and compared camera bird feeders and chose the Birdfy for several reasons, the biggest being that the battery lasts for months without the solar panel, it has a solar panel, and it is readily available. I am very happy with my purchase.
The instructions are a little confusing, and the kit seems complicated at first, but that is because it comes with hardware and accessories to mount the camera in several ways. I recommend getting a micro SD card so that months of videos are stored and accessible by the app.
Speaking of the app, it is a bit clunky, but I believe it will improve with time. The. Birdfy works by recording all motion (bird or otherwise) it sees in 10 or 20 second videos. You can preview videos, download the ones you would like to keep, and take screenshots of the downloaded videos to save out images.
All of the images included in my review are from the Birdfy. It has been fun seeing all of the birds that visit my yard I had never noticed before.

This has to be one of my favorite purchases. I have had it for a few weeks and have had several different kinds of birds visit. Cardinals, blue jays, house finches and titmouse are a few that have visited. The birds all have different personalities making it fun to watch. I have shared videos with my family who also love birds. The solar panel is a must… so you are not constantly taking the feeder down to charge. This would be a nice gift for your nature loving family member. Also remember to buy a micro SD card.

Before finding this product, I was only feeding hummingbirds during the summer.
I had no idea there was a brand new world of birding out there!
This product is unbelievable. You will love it!
It's super easy to set up and not only will you learn more about our feathered friends from watching them, you will experience countless hours of enjoyment.
This would be a great product for those that are wanting to enjoy birds from any location. At my home, I have the live feed going daily on a monitor, so I can enjoy watching the numerous species that visit the feeder.
Have had Northern American Cardinals, Red-Winged Blackbirds, Dark-eyed Juncos, Chickadees, Carolina Wrens, House Finches, Purple House Finches, Brown-headed Cowbirds, Downy Woodpeckers, and many more species visit the Netvue Birdfy.
Love!
Andrew
I thought it was easy to set up and the battery life lasts a long time (seems to not have even went down at all according to the app after multiple weeks since its unboxing). I also really like how the solar charging station can easily wrap around a pole (though I have not had to use it yet because of the awesome battery life).
Seems to hold up great in the wind and rain. I had a wind front come through for a few days with speeds over 20 mph and it stayed intact. I also had a lot of rain and some hail come through, but the product (and seeds) seemed to be unaffected by it.
Motion detection picks up cars from ~100 feet away, but this can be adjusted. However, it seems to pick up car movement from a good bit of distance away even on the lowest detection level. Adjusting it to face away from traffic solved the several notifications that I would get throughout the day for car movement.
I have not had any visitors yet, but that is likely due to the location. With that said, I was unable to see how reliable the bird id recognition is with the 7 day free trial that was provided (and automatically was started when registering the product with the application). Anyhow, from what I can see on their Facebook page, birds do visit! For the meantime, it does serve as a security camera.

This bird feeder is amazing. The Birdfy camera came nicely packaged. I was impressed with how well all of the components were tucked away in the box.
Assembling the feeder was a breeze, almost intuitive but I'm a guy so...(we don't need instructions). Haha. Seriously, it really was simple. The materials seem durable enough to last for years. I will be updating this purchase as time goes on.
The camera is sharp! After scanning the QR code, the setup process was smooth. I have several other NETVUE products so it was even easier to setup using one (1) app. The connectivity to my router is strong. Even though the router is a good sixty feet away from the camera outside, the connection is good. Viewing the camera from anywhere in the world, using the app, is a huge convenience.
Overall, 5/5 so far. I will be updating my review as time goes on.
