Easy to use and easy to carry!!

Wow, what a pleasant surprise! This compact, easy-to-use webcam/document projector is very nice. The picture is clear, and the software is intuitive and includes annotation, photography, and movie recording. The photos and movies go into a dedicated folder. This is perfect for problem sessions in my grad class!!

Continues to amaze me...

I bought my Okio Cam S in 2020, and only used it for Zoom projections. Then this week I was able to test it on an Epson projector. Picture quality was awesome and the ability to adjust the image was a benefit. I can't wait to use it more.

Great little doc camera

This is a great little document camera. I use it daily in my kindergarten room. I wish it had a little light on it to make images brighter in lower lighting, but that's why I'm giving it a 4 star.

Pros: portable, easy to install, takes up minimal space, good camera / picture quality in a well lit area.

Cons: doesn't do well in low lighting

Clear and Easy to Use with Zoom

I wanted to wait a while before writing a review. I've had the this docu-camera for about two months now. I use it with my online tutor students. The software was easy to download to my computer. The adjustments are on top of the camera head. It gets a wide range view for my needs. In the video, I was using the camera to complete transitional writing with one of my students. The camera is clear however, when I record the light does dim a tad, but that's an easy fix. I just make sure to use it in a space with nice lighting. It folds down and puts away easily. Would recommend.

Almost A Good Doc Cam

Pros:

Doesn't hurt the wallet on cost

picture quality is good enough for basics like demonstrating to students how to complete a problem

Cons:

1. The base/writing pad. I cannot put my paper on that with the creases that run through the pad. I will push holes through my paper every time. I would need a writing pad on my writing pad. Flip the camera around? Well, now it takes up a bunch of space on my desk, and this could be reduced if....

2. The designers need to put a swivel/joint AT THE BASE. 3 points of motion on this camera arm and not a single one at the base makes this unstable. It will stay up and stand through a decent tap, but could really benefit from not taking up so much desk space if it had a swivel/joint at the base. I'm assuming this couldn't be done for some reason such as it would fold up as nicely.

3. No microphone

4. no light/LED. Changing the brightness relies on the changing the exposure, which is standard. This is clunky if you're trying to show video inside of a small, dark area such a computer case or car engine.

Small compact and works well with zoom

Great price, nice and portable like in picture 2. Clear view on lap top in Pic 1. Works well with zoom when sharing. You have to make sure it's plugged in computer. Switch your view video to OKIOCAM. Really easy to use. Highly recommend for anyone who doesn't want to spend 100 dollars. Works with making videos too. I used mines to read to my students. It's nice that it fills back and fits in a purse.

Broken or Defective upon Arrival

I was disappointed when this came in. The camera was broken and glitchy the first time I plugged it in to my computer. The box and document camera did not have any visible damage on it. The document camera was packed carefully in bubble wrap. It was just a defective device.

Excellent Document Camera

This document camera is small but mighty and excellent for teaching from home. It gives a great picture and is easy to use. You can plug it in and it works. There is also an app that you can download that enhances control of the zoom, focus, lets you adjust the contrast, freeze, and take pictures. There are buttons for these features on top of the little camera itself that also control these features. At the end of the day, this little camera folds up extremely small to be put away. I bought this on another teacher’s recommendation and have since recommended it to friends. I would absolutely buy this again. It is a great piece of equipment at the right price.

Easy to set up

This camera has been so helpful in my teaching. It hooks up to your computer quickly and is easy to set up. I am sure I don't even know all of its capabilities yet. I just know I can share writing and books with my Reading Recovery students and it has helped my transition to Remote Learning.

Just what I needed!!

This was a perfect solution to my doc camera search. I didn’t want to do the bulky Elmo run to the school and I wanted something to allow me to mirror for my kids. While I couldn’t set up the app on my Chromebook, it did exactly what I needed and most affordable. I hate that i couldn’t get the full effect of app. This was a great compromise. Plus in the USB and it’s good to go. Love this!!

A high quality, inexpensive, easy to use document camera

I'm a high school math teacher, and I've been teaching remotely during the pandemic. For much of the material I teach (geometry and calculus this school year), a whiteboard is the most effective tool. However, the layout of my apartment means that having a separate whiteboard and using it while speaking to students via WebEx isn't very convenient. I thought that having a document camera and sharing the pages on which I was writing would be an ideal solution. I started looking for document cameras before the school year began, but they were hard to find and somewhat expensive (over $200). And then I found this device from Okiolabs for under $70. Installation was a breeze, it integrates seamlessly with the Windows 10 camera app, has no conflict with my other webcam, and lets me use a writing pad the way I'd use a whiteboard. I've recommended this device to many of my colleagues, and I'm seriously thinking about getting another one for myself. It's too good to risk being without.

REALLY bad glitching

I was okay with the style of camera, while not the easiest to manuver - it was not the clearest quality - I was willing to deal with that. I saw the mirriring, the image recorded was fine, however the glitching on my end was reflected in recording. NOT okay. Returning.

this is a perfect camera for those who are not as "tech savvy"

I am a first grade teacher doing distance learning. This this folds to he compact so it fits in my purse if I need to be on the go to set up for online learning. The software installation was easy, it took less than 2 minutes. Honestly I don't remember really having to download anything just to use on zoom. It works great on my Mac and my windows laptop. I haven't tried the other features for creating animations but I didnt really buy it for that.

IT DOES NOT HAVE A LIGHT. But do not let that discourage you from buying. Having a simple desk lamp by it works perfectly fine.

It works well in google slides when you need to insert example of document.

Insert --> insert picture from camera --> (a camera box will pop up then you center your document) --> take picture ---> select the picture you want if you took multiple then insert

The little document camera that could!

Originally was SO frustrated with the mirroring, etc. but after taking my time, I figured it out. Ask me how easy it is to use for writing notes to show to students vs. the Elmo. There are other features (super from what I gather) but for me showing objects and sharing notes is nirvana for me. The size? It arrived in a box that was so tiny I thought it was for the thunderbolt cord (you will be stunned too). The difference between this device and the Elmo (which is huge, bulky, and I am afraid to lug that $669 device home from school) is amazing. I included a pic - see how tiny the box is. It sits on a notepad. That is what it came in! Light as a feather too!

I plugged the okiocam in the left port and it worked (not sure why)

I needed a "bigger boat" so I got a card table for my computer and the okiocam.

Only 1 suggestion: better directions, how-to videos on Youtube that walk you through the process.

I hope this helps. Thank you OkioCam. Whoever invented this really understands business and teachers.

This camera couldn't focus at all

I have high expectations for this camera. As a result, I received a defective product. This camera couldn't focus at all, and it failed to image clearly once. Too disappointed

Great for online teaching

Great for e-teachers. It is easy to use and works great with Zoom and Duallis. I’m able to see my students’ assignment and show them what I am doing in crystal clear focus.

Great Product!

My students absolutely loved the fact that they could see me work each problem out just like we’d have done face to face.

The picture quality is great!

Works with CiscoWebEx, plug and play, but must turn off mirror view...

It took my students to tell me that on WebEx I didn't need to see the whole camera field on my screen. They see it large, but I see it as a little size at the bottom right. But I can write and have an idea that, indeed, what I write on paper they see. You have to turn off the WebEx video to see the OkioCam, otherwise your PC camera wins. I like the auto focus as well. To turn off the upside mirror view: Open the Cisco/WebEx Application on your PC, Click the Gear Icon on to right (settings), click preferences, Click Meeting Join Options, scroll down to see a screen with the word OkioCam above it. Unclick the Mirror view. Done! Voila! Prresto! Listo!

Easiest Camera to Use-Great Price

This camera was so easy to pull out of the box and use immediately. I am online teaching and it does everything I need it to do without any technical issues. The camera is extremely clear and easy to focus.

Cute Tiny & Portable

PIC 1 - Beside a piece of paper for sizing

PIC 2 - is fully set up.

NOTE: I am an art teacher, this was to be used in the upcoming summer class.

PROS: VERY portable. Fits back in the box it came in easily. pic is very clear and easy to see for students. The swivel was nice and easy to use. The interface with plug and go was nice

CONS: It does NOT work as a presented window in Google Meet

Explained: it is either your webcam or the okiocam - when you try to use it as the window you are 'presenting' it does not allow for that -- my IT son tried to make it separate using OBS software and....NOPE. It cannot be used as the presented window.

Good luck if you know a work around. No, we don't do MAC so I don't know if it will work on ios software.
