The only good news is that this Digital Voice Recorder (DVR) is easy to use and records well. THE BAD NEWS: the on-off button/switch constantly switches ON when the DVR is in my pocket turned off. I have used dozens of batteries because it turns on so easily. It doesn't matter whether I put it top down or top up, facing inward or outward. And there's nothing I can do about it without taping closed the on-off switch. I've been using Olympus DVRs for over 30 years. Never have I had a model that switches on so easily and unexpectedly. Perhaps that's why it's cheaper than comparable Olympus recorders. ADDENDUM. I put acrylic caulk on top of ‘record’ switch. I now have to push hard to record, but it stops the record button from switching on all the time.

Compact and Crisp Sound
I've always wanted to get a digital voice recorder for myself. This is great and intended for a beginner like me who is new to digital recording for the first time. Although smartphones are built in with voice memos or recorders, having a device specifically designed for recording is convenient and simpler. I love the one touch recording and micro USB connector to easily allow the cable to transfer the recordings onto my laptop. There are four recording scenes available to adjust the settings based on the selection. First is Memo Folder with 510 hours of recording time great for recording my own voice up close and personal. Second is the Talk folder for recording meetings set in a small space. Third is Music folder for recording live musical performances. And the LP folder for recording for a long period of time. Each folder can store up to 199 files. Erasing is easy by just pressing the trash can button after recording and selecting “yes” to erase. Unfortunately, with this recorder, you can't pause while it's recording. To pause is to stop and record once again when you're ready. It is easy to transfer files into a computer and the files are organized into different folders which is convenient to find files faster. The playback quality is clear but the noise cancellation is not what I expected. Nevertheless, this is compact to bring anywhere and very easy to use by sliding the orange button up to record and down to stop.

OM System Digital Voice Recorder
When I saw the big, round red circle as a button, I knew that this digital voice recorder was going to be simpler to use than my former choices. Just to confirm: The OM System digital voice recorder is in fact easy to make a recording, especially when I need to quickly record something. The interface has an easy design: power on button, repeat button, the forward and back buttons, play/pause, volume up and down, and the delete button. All of them are displayed on the front of the recorder.
There are just a few folders to decide what to record. There is a Memo folder with 510 hours of recording time that is good for recording your own voice up close and personal. There is the Talk folder which is good for recording meetings set in a small space. The Music folder is good for recording live musical performances. And the LP folder is meant for recording for a long period of time. According to the manual, each folder can store up to 199 files. Erasing the recordings could not be simple enough! Just press the trash can button after recording and select “yes” to erase. To erase EVERYTHING in a folder, you’ll perform an extra step so that there is no mistake about it. Genius.
The quality of the recordings is magnificent. I am learning to play the drums and recording myself helps me to hear my strengths and weaknesses. I place the recorder on the floor underneath me and record each of my training sessions. I can upload these recordings via the USB cord that came with the recorder.
Not that this last detail is the most important, but I appreciate it. This relates to the recorder’s ergonomic design. The recorder fits comfortably in my hand because there is a dip underneath the top backside of the digital voice recorder where it can rest against my index finger as I navigate with my thumb. Overall, I am just giddy about this recorder. I keep winning!

This is very easy to operate-just one button to turn it on and start recording—simple operation with the buttons on the unit. The sound is not music quality, but that isn't what I'll use it for. For voice and memo, it works just fine. I like the plug-and-play connection to my computer to download my recordings. Just plug it in and my computer found it. It is disappointing that it only records in WMA format, and my MAC wouldn't play them until I converted them to MP3. No problem for windows computers, it would be nice if the files could be recorded in MP3 format so I didn't have to convert them.

Easy and record no option!
Voice recorder with simple function and easy to use for anyone. Four modes are supported, including memo mode, meeting mode, vocal mode, and long recording mode. The long-term support mode sounds better than the real one, and the vocal mode does not have noise, but stereo is not supported. Memos are for close recording and meetings are supported for recording in large areas. The recording switch slides so that you can be sure it's working. The liquid crystal is very clear and well recognized. However, as it is for beginners, you can't set each one. You should use only four modes. Monitoring and volume control are available during recording. The ballpoint pen in the picture was jetstream.
