Excellent light for photography and videography

I just returned from a week of diving in Roatan and was very excited to view my photos! Let me say I was not disappointed! This rechargeable light is powerful and the on/off switch is very easy to operate.

This light floods your subject with light so all the details are visible and clear. I used an inexpensive action camera on my night dive and chose to focus on still photography. My friends are amazed at the light and clarity of my photos. My OrcaTorch D530V performed exactly as I had hoped! Lastly, this is a wonderful secondary light to have on your dives because of its ability to flood an area. Yes, I absolutely recommend purchasing this light!

Excellent Compact Video Light with a Wide, Even Beam

I purchased this light for underwater video, and after diving with it in real-world conditions, I've been very happy with the results.

The biggest strength is the beam pattern. The 120° flood beam provides very even illumination without creating an obvious hotspot, making it ideal for wide-angle scenes and close encounters with marine life. The daylight-balanced color also produces natural-looking footage.

For such a compact light, the output is impressive. It's not intended to light an entire reef from a distance, but that's true of any light in this size class. Used the way underwater video lights are meant to be used, getting close to your subject, it performs exceptionally well.

I also appreciate the thoughtful design. The battery level indicator is easy to read underwater, the USB-C rechargeable battery is convenient, and the ball mount integrates easily with standard camera trays and arms.

The construction feels solid, the controls are simple even while wearing gloves, and I haven't had any reliability issues.

If you're looking for a compact underwater video light for diving, snorkeling, or underwater photography, I would definitely recommend this one. I liked it enough that I'd purchase it again.

Great Budget Video Light — Perfect for Wide Cave Illumination

I got to use this video light for the first time while cave diving this weekend, and the performance was excellent—especially for the price. It provided wide, even illumination that made it easy to see the cave walls, ceiling, and floor, which is a big advantage compared to a narrow-beam primary light.

In the attached photo, you can clearly see the difference: the two other divers’ primary lights produce tight, focused beams, while this video light spreads illumination across the entire area. It really highlights how much more of the environment you can see at once with a wide-angle video light.

That said, it’s important to remember this is a video light. The wide beam isn’t meant to be a super bright, focused hotspot. Because of that, you’ll notice more backscatter if there’s a lot of particulate in the water—but that’s expected with any wide-angle light.

There are definitely more powerful video lights out there that can completely light up a cave, but those typically run $1,000+. For around $100, this is an incredible value.

I didn’t use it long enough to need the second battery, but I really appreciate that the kit includes one. I mounted the light to a Big Blue dive helmet, and it worked great—just keep in mind that if you’re filming, your camera can cast a shadow if you hold it directly in the beam.

Overall, this is a solid, budget-friendly video light that performs well and gets the job done.

IT's not the Camera, It's all about the lighting!!!

MY Hypothesis... AN INFERIOR CAMERA WITH FANTASTIC LIGHTS CAN PRODUCE great results. So I kitted out my GoPro Hero 9 with 3 ORCATORCH D530V 1200 Lumens Underwater Video Light, 120° and I was VERY IMPRESSED withe the results. I did some intense diving in the Pacific and my gear took a beating and never stopped working hard for me. Lets be honest, we need our gear to work hard for us when conditions are difficult! Currently waiting on the GoPro hero 14 to be released so you understand how old my GoPro 9 is.

Nice soft video light that doesn't scare off animals

Sea Horse filmed with my old GoPro 4 and I used Orcatorch D530V dive video light. This light has wide beam and is soft without any hotspot in the middle which is perfect to illuminate the object evenly. My other dive lights have narrow beam which blinds my old camera (and animals). My GoPro doesn't film well in the dark but I think it did pretty well with this torch.

Very warm red light for night dives

I will be traveling to the Caribbean on a dive trip later this year for my second trip, diving the warm waters. On my first trip, I did not have a red-light dive light, so my night dive was not fun as all the critters kept bugging me. For my next trip, a red light is a must. After research and recommendations from fellow underwater enthusiasts, I settled for an entry-level OrcaTorch D530V. While waiting for springtime, I used the winter time to test it out in the cold water of the Ohio quarries, and I must say, even with only 1200 Lumens at a 140-degree beam angle, it lights up the surroundings a warm red light. Operating the light is simple, with only two light modes, high or low. The light is easy to grip and hold and comes with a lanyard. I attached a bolt snap for easy storage in my BC D-ring. It comes with two batteries with a micro-USB cable without a charging cradle. The included ball-joint attachment makes it easy to put a little scary mood in your underwater pictures.

Started as a focus light but will be used as my backup torch for future dives.

This light is built well and looks great. I also liked that it comes with a Ball mount so that saved me any work with mounting it as my focus light on my camera. For diving during the day it worked fine as a Focus light but on night dives the beam was too wide to be practical for photography. Being primarily a Blackwater diver a more narrow beam might have been a better choice for me. Overall this is a great light and I plan to strap it to my BCD for my go-to torch (hand held).

Lightweight, bright light, long battery life

I am a diver and an underwater photographer. I have tried the light on two dives so far. It is bright and allows me to see a clear view of the reef and the animals I want to photograph. So far, I have only used it in my hand, but next I will mount it and try it as a focus light on my camera rig. It has a clear, bright beam, it lasted through two dives so far and I have not had to recharge it yet. My dives average three hours each, so this is an important factor. It made the dive more fun to have this excellent light's illumination, especially as the natural light faded towards the end of my dive. I would definitely recommend this light. It even comes with an optional ball mount to mount on a camera or wrist.

Nice compact video/ flood type light

Light is pretty powerful, for these pictures I used it on the low setting. Using on a sealife camera it light enough to not throw off the balance like a big light can. No hot spot like some low cost lights. I also have the snoot but haven’t had a chance to try it yet.

Great light very affordable

Just finished a week in roatan honduras using this light on my olympus tg-4. It worked great. Battery's lasted all day and had no issues at all.

Super bright. I don't think you will find a better video / focus light for less money.

Will definitely be buying more orcatorch products

Excellent small, light, and very bright video and focus light.

This is a great little light! The beam is wide enough to illuminate the entire field of view on both my iPhone and my GoPro. The battery charges quickly and lasts a long time. How long is long? Well, I normally do two two-hour dives. During the dives, I am constantly turning the lights on and off as I capture photos and videos. I have yet to have the battery run out during one of my dives.

I liked the light so much that I bought two more. I use two to help illuminate my GoPro videos. I use the other one as a focus light for my Nikon DSLR in its underwater housing.

I like the light so much that I recommended it to my dive buddies who shoot with GoPros too. They followed my advice and love their lights too.

The three photographs were all shot with an iPhone using just one of these lights.

Looking at the cost, size, and illumination, this is a great light and I recommend it highly.

Good Value

Finally had a chance to use this light, it works fantastic as a focus light. It also paired well with my action camera for general lighting. It uses 18650 batteries which is nice as they are easy to change. I would recommend this light for use with small action cameras or as auxiliary light to larger setups.

Amazing quality and value

This little light is a amazing video light! I would recommend it even if it were double the price it’s build quality is great. The light quality is superb for video. The fact that at this price it comes with 2 batteries was completely unexpected I was very pleased while opening the box! Excellent Product

I wanted a video light to use with my underwater camera. The internal flash is located on the left side of the camera, and quite often I get shadows to the right of the subject. So the idea was to turn it on, take the picture, and turn it back off. That was the intention, and it worked very well for that use. However, to my surprise, it turns out to be a formidable dive light for general purpose as well, thanks to its incredible battery life. I started to use more and more, just waiting for the time it would run out of battery. For 100~120 min dives, it stays on all the time. Now I don't really need a spotlight anymore, since the video light is less aggressive on marine critters.

Regarding the light, the wide-angle beam provides smooth illumination throughout the entire photographed area which is great for UW Photography. No shadows, no hotspots, just constant light.

The ball mount works very well, but I chose a different one that allow for a better positioning of the video light. Just personal preference. Battery is rechargeable through a USB cable, without the need of bulky and potentially hazardous battery chargers.

It also comes with extra o-rings, but with a bit of silicon grease every once in a while on the thread I expect them to last a long time (I'd think it's worth it to check for signs of wear though, and replace the o-rings as needed).

One last comment: all the use this far has been on daylight dives, which only stresses how good this video light is.

I highly recommend the product.

Very bright and compact

Great little light. Nice bright wide beam works great for my gopro. I have it mounted right by the camera's side and it fills the view no problem.

Very impressed with this light

As you can see in the picture taken inside of a Cenote in Mexico, this little light provides a great amount of illumination. It has the typical high-quality assembly I've come to expect from Orcatorch. I would recommend this for any amateur underwater photographer/videographer. Works great lighting things up for a GoPro for instance.

Good focus light

I needed a light to illuminate subjects sitting in the dark recesses of the reef, and this light did the trick. If you're an underwater photographer, then you know the challenges of focusing on a poorly lit critter in a cave or the inside of a branching coral head. Especially if you're on a budget, there's no better deal.

Long lasting battery life and bright.

I love this light. I am a Divemaster and underwater photography is part of my profession during guided tours. This light performed beyond expectations, even compared to the more expensive lights I've used. I love how it comes with a spare battery, so you can always have a backup charged. The batteries have incredible battery life. I've used it during several consecutive dives without needing a recharge. I have also recommended this light to my fellow Divemasters.

Compact Video Light with Good Color and battery life

The D530V has good color and a wide beam without any hot spots. It did a good job of bringing out the natural colors in my video. Its durable, 1/5th the price of other lights and bright enough for all my shots. I attached the light to my gopro tray and 1 works well but I'm going to add a second one to help eliminate shadows. I've had my last orcatorch light 3 years and its still strong so I expect this light to last a long time too.
