I specifically use this for a projector with a soundbar. This switcher’s input functions are basically what you’d find on modernized TVs. These are the inputs/outputs:

I have a Playstation 5/Firestick hooked up with 2 of the inputs on the switcher. It does have an auto switch function (works pretty good) and you have the ability to remotely and manually switch (also works pretty good). It might take some getting used to but once you have it down, it works fantastic. I can also confirm that Dolby Atmos can be transmitted through this switch. There is an EDID function you can adjust if you have handshake issues between your devices. Specifically for my setup, I was hoping to achieve Dolby Atmos from the firestick. It did not detect Atmos initially. I had to adjust the EDID from the default 1-1-1 to 1-1-0 with a power cycle, and viola, works like a charm now. Super satisfied.

Works with Sonos Beam and Epson 5050UB

I bought this so that I can use my Sonos beam soundbar with epson 5050ub projector which doesn’t have Earc port for audio out.

Neither does any Denon or AVRs.

I put soundbar in Input 1 and PS5 in Input 2, projector to output. Worked.

Only thing you need to realize you just press the projector volume button and volume works with epson remote. That’s the great part.

Audio extraction works, but image quality is terrible

The audio extraction feature of this HDMI switch/extractor works as expected, but the HDMI switching functionality is useless for anything that requires a high-quality image.

I tested this extractor/switch with a PC in 8k@60 Hz and 4k@120 Hz, and in both cases, the image was blurry, with shadows around black text on a white background, and what looks like 4:2:2 chroma. I tried multiple cables, all of which work fine when going directly from the PC to the display.

Maybe the blurry/shadowed image would be okay for games or video, but for reading text, it’s simply unusable. I tried different DIP-switch settings, with no improvement.

I’ve had good experiences with this brand, so I’m surprised that the unit I received is essentially worthless. Nevertheless, based on my experience, I absolutely can’t recommend it.

High Quality, easy to use

The OREI 8K eARC HDMI 2.1 Switch is high quality and entirely made of metal. The switcher works great switching between my game consoles and pc. The earc port works no problem with my sound bar. Keep in mind you'll need hdmi 2.1 compatable HDMI cables if you want to output 4k/120hz.

Really wanted to like this.

I got this to replace my main HDMI switch on my 6 month old OLED Samsung tv but the TV doesn't recognize to auto switch ports. My old HDMI will send a signal when devices are turned on and off.

I have one HDMI going to the 2nd input of the TV and to the output of this switch. Devices connected are a PS5, Nintendo docking station, and a Google TV plugged into this switch. When I power on the PS5 this switch will send a signal to the TV and works just as described. It changes to that port on the switch and the TV changes to that input on the TV. Every works great.

What doesn't work is when I power off the PS5 it keeps the signal live to the TV or something because the TV won't switch back to the original main input that has our TV box powered on playing TV. The box stays live all the playing screen savers. My other HDMI 4 port switch does this and that's what I need.

Ambushing this HDMI switch port on my office TV with fire stick, nvidia sheild and a PS4 that I only have one HDMI input on the TV and it works great. Just be aware if you have a similar setup to mine and want the TV to change source inputs on the TV, this keeps the signal live.

This is a really nice HDMI switch with remote control and manual switch selection, 1 output with 4 inputs. Great to have if your starved of HDMI inputs on your TV and need to connect HDMI devices to. Please see video for a quick demo.
