Only 100 entries in phonebook

We have used Panasonic phones exclusively for over 20 yrs. Happy with this recent upgrade with one exception….the phonebook is limited to 100 entries when our previous system had 3,000 entries available. We also have cell phones and I have over 800 contacts just in mine. After entering just family and very close friends numbers we have only 44 spots! My husband hasn’t entered his essential contacts yet. I have to wonder if 100 entries is enough for other households, espec homes with more than 2 people. This is the one and only drawback I have found so far.

***and we saved almost $100 by buying “used, like new” phones. You couldn’t tell by looking at them tho. Everything was wrapped as new and the box was intact. A great deal!

Flaw in the answering machine's LEDs (Model KX-TGF975B)

I purchased the Panasonic Cordless Phone System (Model KX-TGF975B) last fall, having always trusted Panasonic phones in the past. Unfortunately, after just a few days, both the answer on/off LED and the message indicator light stayed constantly lit, even when the answering machine was off and no messages were recorded.

I initiated a warranty claim through Panasonics website right after Christmas, sending the 1st defective unit back (at my expense). The Warranty claims center sent me a second unit. Unfortunately, the same problem occurred a few days after I starting using the unit.

So, I sent back a this 2nd unit (I had them send me a shipping label) and, wouldn't you know it, the same problem existed on this 3rd unit.

I, again, emailed their Warranty claim center asking them to please test any unit they send to me before sending it so that we are sure that it works and requested another shipping label. They responded,

"Hello,

Please call technical support on this at 1 800 *** 7262 as these units you received are perfectly working items.

Thanks

Thank you,

Panasonic Consumer Product Support".

Well, this was quite rude and it insinuated that I was doing something to break the unit to somehow make two led lights stay on. I don't even know how I would go about doing that. I made a video of the problem and called the number. The technician I spoke with said they weren't setup to test or repair the phones. He gave me a number to call Panasonic Support directly (apparently they were just a Florida-based warranty facilitators). No apology for the rudeness.

I called Panasonic and spoke to two people. The second person said that they couldn't help but to call 1 800 *** 7262 for help. That was the company in Florida who had just given me Panasonic's support number! Good grief.

So, I sent back the 3rd unit (at my expense) and two weeks later received a 4th unit (it's now the end of February 2026). Again, same problem.

This is a a $200 phone system that can't get the most basic indicators working correctly and chooses to use a warranty company that doesn't fix or even test or acknowledge issues with their devices. The warranty service was fast but completely ineffective.

I've attached a video showing the Answer On/Off light staying on. The message light (triangle under the play button) isn't on before this video was recorded but comes on permanently within hours/days of the first light staying on.

It's a shame that I cannot recommend this phone system as I've used Panasonic phones my entire adult life. It’s far too expensive to have this unfixable inherent design flaw. I’ve attached videos so you can see for yourself. Save your money and look elsewhere.

Missing Parts

I ordered this set identified as in "very good" condition. What I was received was obviously used equipment MISSING one charging base, batteries, and user manual. Since the 5th phone is useless without a charging base, I returned and will reorder the same phone set hoping to get all of the parts. I thought used products were checked to be sure all parts were present before being considered "very good".

Nice upgrade

These are a definite upgrade from my older Panasonic phones. I like the "call block" button, which can be used when an unwanted call rings. Press the red button, then press yes ... very easy.

Cordless phine

I have had several problems with this since I bought it in May. I have sent several questions in. none of them have been able to help me. I have a handset that will not ring the other's ring. I have another one that says power base off when it is clearly plugged in. I just wanted to return it and get my money back.

GREAT features, but wall mount is terrible

Love the capabilities and quality of this phone, but I think that whoever designed the wall mount adapter has never actually tried to install this on a wall. The phone mount to the plate just fine, but the base unit sticks out an absurd amount. It's literally sitting at about a 45 degree angle from the wall. Not only does this look rediculous, but it makes it difficult to see the buttons and face of the base unit. The wall mount should ideally sit at a much narrower angle away from the wall, just enough to ensure that the hand set stays seated properly. Also The cord management is upside down when using the adapter in the wall mount position forcing me to route cables out of the top or side of the phone. Seriously, can someone send me a 3D printer pattern to make something better for this thing? I don't want to keep it on the phone stand, there's not much room there, but it's just not as usable with this wall mount problem.

Excellent upgrade from our older system

We had been using an older Panasonic KX-TG9344T phone set for the last decade. While it worked and held up very well, it was nearly useless for call blocking. We would let calls ring over to the answering system and they never left a message. They would do this a dozen times a day! Blocking a blank call like these would not help because the call centers rotate through a hundred or more numbers. This new phone set appears to have fixed that - even without having to put in all our known/welcome caller numbers. In addition, the handset is easier to see (for older eyes) and the sound quality is just as good as the older set. One simultaneous pro/con is that the phone is so feature-rich that one can get lost in trying to read the manual. But the defaults seem to be very carefully chosen to not require detailed reading (still good to use as a reference and to look at it to discover all the excellent features offered). Plus, the product came with 2 additional quick-start guides that answered all the questions I still had after looking at the manual on-line before purchase. In particular, how does the Call Block feature actually categorize and process calls? It's quite complex, but the unit came with a nice 'horizontal flowchart' that explains it. So far, so good. We're getting the calls we want and not even hearing rings from the ones we don't :-) Amazing product value. Kudos to Panasonic for continuing to improve their line of cordless phones !

The batteries were dead. Sometimes the …

What's those 2 problems? I guess the phone's all right like every other phone.

Panasonic Cordless Phone with Advanced Call Block

I have an older Panasonic cordless phone set with 4 handsets and sometimes the clarity was iffy. Panasonic is a good brand and they had served me well, but it was time for an upgrade.

This phone set offers advanced call blocking with a large number of preset numbers and the ability to store many thousands of additional numbers as they occur. When telemarketers or scammers call, they are stored. This means they won’t be able to have your phone ring.

I have stopped even answering my phone it has gotten so bad. I just let the answering machine screen calls for me. If it’s someone I know and they leave a number, I’ll call them back.

This phone set was fairly easy to set up, but be advised, you’ll need to set aside at least an hour or more. There’s still a whole lot of the owners manual I haven’t gotten to, but am looking forward to.

I just needed to get it set up so that when I’m out of town, I can call my land line home phone and listen to the messages. It works great! Let the phone ring, let the recording start and hit 111 and it will play your messages, so you can get back to those you need to talk to. You can change the 111 to any three digits.

This is a feature-loaded system, very handy to have placed all around the house. The base provides a strong signal, so you can have one in the garage, the basement and elsewhere.

The individual handsets can become an intercom system with a different ring tone you set, which is nice to have.

I love that the included batteries are rechargeable and should last for years.

So glad I found this! I would recommend this to family and friends.

5 STARS!!!

Nice quality with big number and good voice mail box

It boasts five phones, all of which have a pleasant quality. The number signs on the phones and station are large and clear. The system operates smoothly with two lines, and the iA-Technology enables the convenience of a voicemail box. While the main phone station's location is well-designed, the non-main stations have less ergonomic shapes and require some attention when plugging in the charger. Overall, the quality is impressive, and the screen quality stands out as particularly good.

Great landline system. This cordless phone has all the features.

This cordless phone is impressive. It has all the features that you want, such as intercom.

Speaker speaker, phone answer machine and 5 handsets. You can put one in each room and use the intercom feature. To talk to everyone in the house or just one. Also, it has 2 new features that I've never heard of before. The first one allows you to set your phone to a cell phone through Bluetooth and make calls on your handset that use the cell phone service. This allows you to use your cell phone number. But call through the cord this phone period you can hook 2 phones at once and use it. It also has call block feature that has a preloaded database of 14000 numbers that automatically decline, so you do not get plastic with spam. 5 stars!!!!!!

Surprisingly Advanced!

I have a home office and got this Panasonic system to replace my old V-tech. Physically they're the same: a base unit and two small charger holders and three cordless handsets. The base unit has a built-in digital answering machine. It sounds like a quaint throwback to the era of hard-wired "land lines," and if you still actually HAVE such a thing, this WILL work with it, but my home office runs on an "at home" service. Functionally, it's exactly like a traditional land line, but instead of plugging into the wall, it plugs into a hub which connects to a 5G cellular network. So it's the best of both worlds. When I planned this switch, I thought it would be an easy swap. I wasn't prepared by just how superior this Panasonic set really is!

First off, even the box has a quick start guide, of sorts. When you open it, it gives you the bare bones basics. The packaging is amazing! You'd have to do a lot to damage anything inside of it. As an installation goes, it was indeed cheesy easy to swap out the little charging stations and bas units with the old one. Then I began playing with it. First off, there's a rarity in the box missing from most of today's electronics: A DETAILED INSTRUCTION BOOK! No having to go to a website, no QR code (unless you want to buy accessories from an enclosed ad), but both a quick start AND info-packed instruction booklet written in excellent English! Yes!

Next, the display is MUCH more legible! For those of us with aging eyes, this is more than just a plus: it's a necessity! While there are certainly some tricks n' hacks in the booklet, the handset menu and options are easy to navigate and no real learning curve is required. Setting the time/date on one handset sets all of them AND the base. Recording your outgoing message is easy and sounds crisp n' clear. All of this is expected. The surprises came slightly after....

When the phone rings, it announces the incoming number or name! Better yet, if it's a scam, "unknown caller" or (even more hilariously) a "toll-free call" - in short, SPAM - there is a one-button BLOCK feature! One push and you never get a ring from that number again... EVER! Yes, you can easily unblock a number if you goof. This became my favorite feature on day one! Yet another novel feature: Bluetooth connectivity. Yes, you can connect your headset to it OR your regular cell phone! One phone, all access! This is such a VAST improvement over every previous system.

The last feature I noted was that you can "go private" with a single button. This is handy if you have others in your home or office that might be tempted to listen in on your call using one of the other handsets. Press one button and...NOT gonna happen! Each handset has a speaker option, as does the base. During a power failure, the base will maintain power from the battery in the handset in the cradle. This will work in conjunction with the built-in battery pack in the hub, so if electrical power is cut off, you have several minutes (if not hours) of talk time while waiting for power to come back up. You know....just like the old style wall phones.

In short, this set retains the best features of traditional office/hard-wired phones with new, advanced features that make them a great addition to any home office. I would wager that this will be the last system of this time I'll ever need.

Goodbye Annoying Robocalls -- Hello Crystal Clear Telephone Reception!

We've purchased only Panasonic home telephone systems for nearly three decades and have updated our systems as Panasonic introduces new technology and ever advancing features to make the calling experience easier. This 5-handset purchase is our best acquisition yet. We've charged up the batteries, installed the unit, set up the features just the way we initially want them, and are using this set daily. There are many, many features we like about this unit. First, there are so many options and ways to configure your preferences that it might seem intimidating at first. But the set-up really is intuitive and there is also a handy 100+ page manual to give you exact step-by-step instructions. The booklet includes a very handy 8-page "sort of executive summary" called "getting started" that gives you just about everything you need to set up and begin kicking the tires.

Pesky calls are today's curse for most households, and this unit gives you several ways to deal with robocalls, known and suspected spam, one-ring calls, and more. You decide how many of these options to trigger. Beyond these options, there are some great features for those of us seniors with older eyes and hearing challenges. The buttons are large, bright, and tactile. The LCD display screen is ample and informative. The sound is absolutely crystal clear and the sound volume is variable and considerable. The handset feels good in your hand and the spacing between the speaker to listen and the microphone to talk is well spaced for even larger size heads. We are still tweaking the features, but that is a selling point for a multi-feature system...that you have the ability to dial in how you want your system to operate and best serve you.

Trusted Brand!!

The panasonic cordless phone with answering machine is an excellent choice for anyone who wants a reliable and feature-packed phone system. This phone system comes with three handsets, making it easy to stay connected throughout your home or office. One of the best things about this phone system is its advanced call block feature. It allows you to block unwanted calls from telemarketers and scammers, ensuring that your phone line is kept free from interruptions. The one-ring scam alert feature also helps to prevent unwanted calls from making it through to your phone. The Link2Cell Bluetooth feature is another great feature of this phone system. It allows you to connect your smartphone to the phone system, making it easy to make and receive calls from your mobile device. This is a great convenience, especially for those who are always on the go. The 2-way recording feature is also very handy. It allows you to record phone conversations with just the touch of a button, making it easy to keep track of important information. The answering machine feature is also very convenient, allowing you to receive messages even when you're not available to answer the phone. Overall, the panasonic cordless phone with answering machine is a fantastic investment for anyone who wants a reliable and feature-packed phone system. Its advanced call block features, Bluetooth connectivity, and convenience features make it a great electronic for any household.

One-ring scam doesn't stop scam calls

These Panasonic cordless phones work great. They are easy to set up but there's a lot of different features to get used to. I was looking forward to the one-ring scam alert but it wasn't quite what I thought it was going to be. If a caller disconnects a call after 1 or 2 rings the call is judged to be a scam call and it just notifies the user when calling back a number that is judged to be a scam call. It doesn't block spam calls at all and it says "spam risk" when they call. I like the call block button on the phones and you can block up to 2000 numbers. There's only 2 different ring tones to choose from and the volume can be adjusted or turned off on each phone. You can link your cell phone so you can answer your calls from your mobile phone on the handsets. Nice set of cordless phones.

A lot of great features - clear sound

We are one of the many families returning to having a home phone because it ends up being convenient for many reasons.

With that in mind we opted for an internet based service and a multi handset phone system similar to this one; problem was the sound ended up being really awful and we quickly determined the problem was with the hardware of the phone itself.

Consequently, we decided to try this Panasonic and I am happy to report we immediately noticed a significant improvement in the quality of the sound.

Moreover, this system has SO MANY FEATURES.

After over a week of use and testing out the feature our experience with this has been positive.

Because there are so many features, you will need to spend time with the manual in order to get the most out of it.

I would also keep the instructions handy for a while as you get used to the phone.

If you have a tech in the family, mores the better because you can enlist them to help.

Luckily, the overall setup of the phone is straightforward and similar to most phone with multiple handsets.

The hardware set-up is also exactly like any other set up, just plug into power to charge the handsets and into your phone jack to establish a connection for your calls.

Of course, the five handsets also makes this an ideal choice for larger homes or those with outbuildings.

Regarding things that stand out about this phone:

- handset batteries are rechargeable double A batteries that are very easy to install and find to replace.

- offers the option to connect to a bluetooth device for clear, handsfree calls (this is my favorite feature)

- includes a screening function you can set up to block nuisance calls

- can connect directly to a cell phone, so you can integrate the two systems into one

Our household would definitely recommend this set.

For us the most important factors was sound, which is clear and loud, with options for using the speaker or connecting to a bluetooth.

The screening feature and answering machine also make it an excellent way to make sure you only speak to whom you like over the phone.

Based on the features and quality, this is a great phone we can happily recommend.

Great for fraud call blocking and phone scam prevention, but a bit complicated setup.

As someone who frequently receives unwanted calls, I was interested in this Panasonic KX-TGF973B cordless phone. It boasts of advanced features such as call block, Link2Cell Bluetooth, and 2-way recording with an answering machine. I bought this product because I wanted a reliable cordless phone for my home office that could help me manage my calls efficiently.

My first impression of the phone was positive, as it has a sleek black design with silver trim that looks great on my desk. The handsets feel comfortable to hold and the buttons are large and easy to press. The setup process, however, is much more complicated than I expected. I had to spend some time reading the instructions and navigating through the menu options to set up the phone and link it to my cell phone via Bluetooth. Once it was set up, however, the phone worked well and provided many useful features. The phone's interface is user-friendly, and I was able to access its features without any difficulty.

The call block feature works flawlessly, allowing me to easily block unwanted calls from telemarketers and scammers. I was able to easily add numbers to the blocked calls list, and the phone also has a one-ring scam alert that warns me of potential fraud calls. The Link2Cell Bluetooth feature is also particularly useful, as it allows me to answer calls from my cell phone using the cordless phone's handsets. The 2-way recording feature is an added bonus, as it allows me to record important conversations with clients and colleagues, and other important calls. The phone's answering machine functions well, and I was able to customize my greetings and access my messages remotely. The sound quality of the phone is good, and the ability to use the handsets as intercoms is convenient. The phone also has a useful feature that allows me to locate a misplaced handset by pressing a button on the base unit. And it also includes an intercom feature that allows me to use two headsets as walkie-talkies. The only minor issue I found is that the battery life could be better.

If you did not know, the one-ring scam, also known as "Wangiri" scam, is a type of phone fraud that is becoming increasingly common. In this scam, fraudsters use an automated dialing system to call random phone numbers, let the phone ring only once, and then hang up. The idea behind the one-ring scam is to trick people into calling back the missed call number, which is usually a premium-rate number that charges a high fee per minute. When the victim calls back, they are put on hold for an extended period, racking up a large bill without realizing it. This Panasonic phone really helps to avoid such sort of scams.

Overall, I think the Panasonic KX-TGF973B is a versatile and reliable cordless phone that offers a range of features that can be useful for home or office use. While the battery life could be better, the phone's other features more than make up for it. The call blocking feature and other advanced features make it a particularly useful phone for anyone looking to avoid unwanted calls.

*** TL;DR ***

Yes, I would recommend the Panasonic KX-TGF973B for those who want a versatile cordless phone with features such as call block, Bluetooth, and 2-way recording. While the battery life could be better, the phone's other features are useful and functional. It features excellent call blocking, one-ring scam alert, 2-way recording, intercom, and handset locator. However, the setup process is somewhat complicated, so be prepared to spend some time getting it set up properly. Also, battery life could be better. My rating is 4 stars.

+++ Pros +++

1) Slick design, looks good in any office or home.

2) Link2Cell Bluetooth allows answering calls on your cell.

3) 2-way call recording of your phone conversations.

4) Very effective fraud call blocking.

5) Protection from one-ring scams.

6) Has an intercom feature.

7) Has a handset locator feature.

--- Cons ---

1) Complicated setup process.

2) Battery life could be better.

Panasonic.. Accept no substitute!

I am a very loyal Panasonic phone owner!

I have tried practically every brand of home phone that has been on the market and none have performed as well as the Panasonic's.

So, even though my current phone is still working great(although a couple of the numbers are starting to get smudged), I was intrigued by this one because of the built in call blocking button.

It has been getting out of control with telemarketers bombarding our phones! While I was able to block calls previously they seem to have simplified it which I am all for!

It also comes preloaded with 14,000 numbers that are pre-blocked! Now I know that it's only a matter of time before the scammers add more numbers, so far I haven't had one bogus call yet. As opposed to having at least 3-4 a day that I was getting!

Everything else about this phone is great also. Calls are nice and clear, you can change the ringtone, shut off individual phones during the hours when you're sleeping(except the people that you may want to call). You can even make a phone call during a power failure!

There's really just too many options to write about here. But trust me, you can't go wrong by purchasing this great phone!

Now if there was one thing that I wish Panasonic could figure out how to do is to find a way to transfer your phone book entries from your old phone to the new replacement one.
