The lotion works well, and I got it at a good price. However, I was disappointed to find that some of the lotion had leaked, even though the bottle was sealed with plastic wrap. I’m not sure how that happened.

I love this product! It has helped my knees feel so much better, however, I will not buy the lotion again from this seller. Package arrived and when I opened it, the pump had broken off and the majority of the product had leaked out all over the bag it was sent in. Very poor packaging!!!! Guess I will go back to the cream in the jar.

I originally bought this when I was dealing with muscle tightness and pain in my chest, shoulders, and neck from sitting at a desk all day. I’ve been using it daily, and it’s definitely helped relieve and manage the irritation when it starts to flare up.
It absorbs really well, isn’t greasy, and I’ve had no issues applying it under clothes or with staining. The scent is a light, minty therapeutic smell. It’s noticeable at first but fades quickly and isn’t overpowering, so it’s totally fine to use around others.
For me, the relief can last a few hours. Sometimes one application gets me through most of the day, and other times I’ll reapply once or twice as needed. I did notice better results using it consistently over time rather than just one-time use.
I’ve even used it on my hands and noticed it helped with tingling and irritation from using a computer mouse all day, which was a nice bonus.
I’m already on my second bottle. While I can’t say this was the only reason my pain improved, it absolutely helped take the edge off and made daily discomfort much more manageable. I’d highly recommend it if you’re looking for something to use regularly for muscle tension and soreness.

I am trying the roll on for the first time. However, I have joint issues in my hand and literally had to destroy the top to get to the product. The squeeze and turn type of top is ridiculous for those of us who have arthritis and hand issues. Manufacturers-wake up.

Best over the counter pain relief thing I've tried. I stopped using Lidocain patches on my back. Definitely works great on me and no smell. Would definitely recommend it.

Burned the skin off of my feet. I tested part of an area over night and it seemed to be fine. But, after using it a third time I thought I had paper on the bottom of my feet and ankles and my skin started peeking off. Layers of layers on both feet. The center is where it hurt. On my legs it worked. It did it's job. That's why I gave it three stars. But painful for my feet.
I keep ordering this product because it does work for my back.

I really like this product for pain and recovery. Almost NO smell and it absorbs almost instantly. It helps with muscle pain and/or injuries which that is the reason I got it. One thing to have in mind is the roll-on version versus the cream. If you want to share the cream is probably easier bc people just grab with a finger what they need but the roll-on version is liquid so if you give it to someone and they are sweating then their sweat will mix with the liquid in your bottle. Probably better to put them on the hands and then rub where it hurts but who is going to rub in hands a roll-on bottle? Either way a great product just think twice about the type of form you get.

June 2, I had a meniscus and cartilage repaired along with femoral osteotomy surgery done. Trust my muscles and joints were sore for a whole month and i was getting desperate as the pain during therapy were painful. This product was life savior, it helped relieve my muscles as they were very tight for me to bend my knee. Now I feel my muscles relaxed, they don't numb you and I have enjoyed my therapy sessions as I see progress everyday :)

In the 10years of using this Penetrex "miracle cream" I was upset when the cream I purchased had no effect at all on my muscle pain. The unpleasant, dry finish on my skin had me stumped, I knew that I had to find the other jar that I purchased months earlier to compare. I found it in a few hours, and ten minutes later I was pain free. I then compared the ingredients on both jars, in descending order. I noticed that the were five new additives on the new jar formulation and two plant extracts were different. It was misleading to find that the ingredient list on the jar was very different from the Penetrex website. During my research I found that Penetrex was sold to Carlin Consumer Health in 2024, and that explains the reformulated cream! This is why it no longer works, they are using inferior ingredients to maximize their profit margins. Shameful!!!

I received this wonderful product 4 days ago and used it as soon at I opened it. This stuff starting working the same day. I use it on my bursitis (on my hip) and I have not had any pain. My family can see the difference in my walking(walking better). The instructions say use when needed after 7-10 days, I’ll keep using it an extra week with the 3 to 4 times a day; just for good measure. It is a miracle in a bottle. The roll on is easy, convenient, and worth the money spent. Best investment ever. Glad I found this.

i work a pretty physically demanding job. last week my shoulder was hurting me so i finally decided to give this a try as it had just been sitting on my shelf waiting to be used. i only used it 2x/in a day and was already feeling much better. week later shoulder doesn’t have any pain.

Fingers, neck and left knee currently. I went through PT for my knees last year for about 6 weeks. I re-injured the left knee at the pool last week and am waiting for it to recover. It’s hurt every day since that happened, it hurts to even walk upstairs or bend down. Laying in bed also it continues to ache. Within 10 minutes of rubbing this stuff on my knee in bed, the pain is totally gone. 10 minutes ago I wasn't sure I'd be able get to sleep. Now, no pain. I feel a little stiffness but no pain at all. It works great on swollen knuckles/stiffness too for overall relief. Highly highly recommend. I don’t even use it as often as it says to, just once a day, typically before bed, and it works for me!

My foot was wounded in Feb and it did not fully recover till now. I bought this based on the review, got it on June 8 evening. Sure enough, it does great job reducing the inflammation and speed up the healing. But today June 12th when I try to use a bit I found there is a big air bubble / hole about 1/4 to 1/3 of the volume of the bottle, beneath the surface! And it is not returnable...
July 5: Many days after I contacted the customer services, there is response. So I have to say, good product, bad quality control, and bad customer service, and 3 stars.

Penetrex helps keep the pain at bay in my husband’s heel so he doesn't suffer/limp so much from our walks. We started with the cream and really liked it as it helped and it did not have an offensive odor. I would put it on his heel most mornings and at bed time, but some mornings I would forget and be out the door so he was left rubbing it on his foot. The problem there was putting in his contacts afterward...so my sister whose husband had found Penetrex as a option for helping his mother get around with her debilitating arthritis, suggested the roll on version for when he applied it himself as her husband did not like the feel of the cream on his hands after applying. So we got the roll on. I asked my husband what he felt the difference was between the two for effectiveness. He said he liked the roll on as he felt it took away the pain faster, yet the relief did not seem to last as long as the cream. So I like to apply a bit of the roll on then rub some cream in with it. Sometimes we just do the cream at bed time. We have recommend Penetrex to multiple family members and they've liked it well enough to recommend it to other family members and friends. Note: this does not help everyone with every kind of pain I still enjoy my CBD stick for my neck tension. Lightening deals are a great way to buy and try it. I bought this because I saw the "Inflammation Formula" on the side and because I can't really use anti-inflammatory medications due to their stomach related side effects. I love this stuff and I definitely prefer it over my usual Salonpas gel. I've been using this for the Tendonitis in my left and only elbow (I'm an arm amputee). I have to REALLY like and believe in a medical type product like this for me to recommend it. Most topical creams/gels don't get deep enough to the source of the pain, especially with joints, but this does exactly that.
So far I've used this for my Fibromyalgia, Sciatica, a knot causing chronic pain in my right Trapezius muscle along my shoulder blade, Tendonitis, Spinal Stenosis in my lumbar and general everyday muscular pain. Keep in mind that I'm using this in addition to my low dose pain medication, however, it's amazingly helping me to retain use of my arm. This is the most effective over-the-counter topical product I've ever used.

I bought the cream initially to treat plantar fasciitis pain from working as a waiter. Works just as described and worth every penny. I needed a more generous amount at the beginning of treatment but less and less over time as pain subsided (as indicated in the directions) so you may want to buy two at the outset. Plantar fasciitis can take forever to go away but regular use of Penetrex 2x per day and I was completely pain free pretty quickly. A few weeks at most, took less than two 4oz jars.
This year I began using it to treat inflammation and pain in my hand. Works there, too. The roll-on made it quick and easy to reapply when all the COVID-19 hand-washing became necessary. Better suited for plantar fasciitis than trigger finger but it still helped my hands! I recommend this product regularly.

I am a 50-year-old Woman who is starting to have pains in my thumb and pointer finger. It seems to be the starting of arthritis. I went online and looked into many different creams. The reviews for this cream seem to be the best so I figured I would give it a try. Once you have it you have to give it at least 2 to 3 weeks before you start to see results. I rub some cream on in the morning, and at night before I go to bed. My fingers have not been bothering me since I’ve been using it. I have it a good six months now. And I just bought myself another bottle. I also have problems with my elbow so I rub the cream on there as well. I highly recommend trying this cream I think it is fantastic I’m so happy that I found it. It was so has a light minty smell to it. It doesn’t have any cooling sensation or any burning sensations. When you put it on it just feels nice.

I have always had back issues and have 4 screws in my lower back/hips that even though are “fixed” still cause me a lot of pain especially when there’s a change in atmosphere like a storm rolling in! I don’t like mentholated creams as I hate getting it on my hands since even though I wash and wash and wash it still doesn’t come off enough for me to change out my contacts and that BURNS! I also use a heating pad regularly and mentholated creams plus heating pads are pretty content productive! I have been using this cream for years now and recommend it whenever I can! It is the only cream that goes deep enough to help my bone pain and rubs in seamlessly without leaving a greasy feel! I’ve also used the roll on version and that seems to make application easy and also helps roll out a little of my tight muscles while applying so it’s a win win! I use this on my back, hips, outer hip (bursitis) and even my hands sometimes to help with arthritis pain! I can’t take many nsaids so I really believe the arnica in it helps with my constant inflammation!

This stuff is awesome! It helps to relieve sore muscles, arthritic pain, tendinitis & it feels so good to massage the roller ball as the prod is applied. I use it on my upper back, quads, wherever I’m sore & it helps to ease the pain. It absorbs quickly, no greasy or tacky feel & smells really good. The scent fades very quickly for those that don’t like scents. I apply it to my elderly mom’s severely painful knees & she always says it feels so good when I do it. From aching back to arthritis joint problems - this product (Made in USA!) has been a lifeline for our family! Our elder parents have been complaining about their pain symptoms and no matter what we tried (Arnica helps a bit), we recycled too many products that promised the advertised relief.
Since 2016, we ordered Penetrex multiple times to replenish our home "apothecary" as well as our elder parents' stock. This cream is formulated and made in the USA, which is unusual. The company and the customer service stand by the product. Fast with their responses and genuine approach to problem resolution. We have communicated with them and their responses via e-mail are within 24 hours. Very courteous and polite.
The cream. From lower back pain to joints on hands - works like a charm. Recently have been applying to feet for RLS and it works perfectly as well. Applying pea-sized quantity takes care of the problematic pain.
Formulation - no additives. Plain, clean product with ingredients one expects. No mad science behind it, but pure ingredients and no greasy residue after applying it to the skin. Skin is the largest organ and whatever we apply to it - becomes part of us. So, we feel good about applying this cream that works perfectly relieving pain symptoms.
As long as Penetrex does not get sold to some giant corporation that will mess-up this AWESOME product!

This is a simple decision. IF YOU HAVE PAIN, ORDER PENETREX! NOW!!! DONT WAIT... I have used this pain relief therapy for several years and would not be without it. I keep the 8 oz jar on my nightstand and the small size in my purse at all times. It has helped me keep walking when my knee is in severe pain, kept me comfortable when sleeping and my muscles were hurting so much from fibromyalgia that I wanted to cry. Relief comes quickly. There is no odor, no greasiness and absorbs totally. It does not stain your clothing or your sheets. I have ordered jars to give to my family and friends who have various pains. When something is as superior as Penetrex, you want to tell everyone who is suffering. That is why I’m telling you. I want you to have help for your pain. I looked for years for something to help. If you try this, your search will be over.

I thought I would be a good candidate to leave a review because I buy and own every pain cream known to science and could give a difference in comparison and to other pain creams on the market and how they work. I have cervical degenerative disk disease, fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis. If it is rated good then I buy it.
There are a lot of pain cream on the market. Those that give instant relief such as Biofreeze, Icy Hot, etc. And those that provide some instant relief but work better the longer you use it. Examples include Blue Emu and Penetrex which are specifically for inflamation. It helps the nerves too by reducing the inflamation off the nerve. Penetrex and Blue emu are both more natural products that are better to use for a few weeks to see maximum benefits. You do see immediate results, enough to take the edge off but the longer you use It the better they work. This product is not a miracle but it does help. I'm only having to use it 1-2 times a day now instead of every 3-4 hours like when I first started two to three weeks ago. You need to give it time for maximum effects. I can't give the product 5 stars because it's too similar to Blue emu which is cheaper. It's also no miracle cure.. However It does work slightly better then Blue emu and the 4 ounce bottle lasts longer.
Another surprising thing is that it does help my severe herniated disks, I'm scheduled for surgery. I was told nothing would help it. In all honesty it just reduces the pain from an 8 to a 6 to take the edge off but that in itself that is fantastic for someone with spinal compression and massive disk issues. It helps my arthritis too. The disks not as much but it does help. Blue emu does about the same though but Penetrex is a tad better but not enough to justify the cost difference in my opinion. $13 vs $36. But I've only been using it for about three weeks and I'm sure the longer you use the better because a few weeks ago I was much more stiff and in a lot more pain then I am now.
Blue emu is only $13 for 4 ounces and Penetrex is $37 for 4 ounces. I think Penetrex works slightly better then Blue emu but not much. I do think it's overpriced. I do notice that the container of Penetrex lasts longer then Blue emu just because it's thicker and spreads more so that makes up for some of the price so I can get an extra 10 days approx out of Penetrex. Blue emu has no smell at all and Penetrex has a vague light peppermint smell.
I notice if you severely overuse Penetrex it can make you slightly itchy. I have sensitive skin. By that I mean applying way too much and way too often otherwise there are 0 side effects. I used it today and no itch. Penetrex and Blue emu does not cool the skin like Biofreeze or ICY HOT, it's like using a lotion but it helps which is crazy how it reaches far enough to reduce inflamation. You don't have to worry about strong odors. It's hard to fathom that something that doesn't cool or heat the skin could help but they both DO. I'm not telling you which you should purchase because I feel Penetrex works better then Blue emu but just a little, not a big difference and the cost is steep in comparison although it also lasts longer. I will say that the company Penetrex does give a no questions asked refund if you are not happy you can request an immediate refund so they stand behind there product 100%. If you are in severe pain (stiffness and burning) like I was I highly recommend rotating ICY HOT or BIOFREEZE with either Blue Emu or Penetrex inflamation cream for maximum benefits. I think BIOFREEZE or ICY HOT will take more of the edge off to give the Blue emu or Penetrex time to really kick in. Both do work immediately but the longer you use It the better and you will notice you don't need it as often. Just as anti inflamitory meds work immediately , they also work better the longer you use them as does both Penetrex and Blue emu.
When I first developed the herniation I had not heard of Penetrex. I was using ICY HOT and rotating with Blue Emu to maximize effects. I swore ICY HOT was better then Blue emu, at least somewhat better and cheaper. It took Blue emu time to really start helping, although it helped immediately to take the edge off but not a ton. Each day I noticed more relief. What I do right now is the days I have less pain I do Blue emu and days I have more pain I do Penetrex. When I run out of Penetrex I may stick to just Blue emu. A month ago I was in such bad shape I was using Blue emu and Icy hot in rotation every few hours and that's when I decided to buy Penetrex and started using ALL 3 in rotation. That may seem crazy but when you are in that much pain you will do anything. Now I'm only using Penetrex every few days and Blue emu daily unless I over do it and the pain flares up too much then I use Penetrex.
Note: The box says to not use product after too much physical exertion or after hot baths which is confusing. I see that as not happening for me so I broke the rule but I was slightly paranoid. Lol. I take hot epsom salt baths twice a week. I did use this after my bath with no effects outside slight itching/warming feeling on my neck. Blue emu does the same only if I use after a hot bath. Seeing as these do not normally warm or cool on the skin but only happens after a hot bath for me is a little odd. Lol. But I didn't have any crazy side effects. I also use this after cleaning the house and haven't noticed any side effects. Only after my hot baths. A little warm on my neck after applying it which lasts for about 10 minutes..
This was definitely the longest review I've ever written but I felt the need to share the difference in these creams and also explain some in how they work different from other creams that cool or heat the skin. The main reason is because I read too many reviews which did not even give the product time to work before saying it's a scam etc. I'm a real buyer and it's not a scam. It's no miracle either but it does help a good 20% of the pain for severe pain and at least 50% for mild to moderate pain. I find both Penetrex and Blue emu the best on the market you can buy followed by BIOFREEZE then lastly ICY HOT. My top 3 in order is #1 PENETREX #2. BLUE EMU, #3 BIOFREEZE. #4 ICYHOT. I read Sombra works good too But that's one I've yet to personally try. I think Biofreeze helps the muscles more and Blue emu and Penetrex helps the joints more but they help the muscles too. It does work immediately to take the edge off but again it takes a few weeks to see a better improvement and the improvement is deserving of 4 stars and if the price was lower it would get 5 stars.. But that's why to start out I recommend rotating with a cooling cream to give this time to see the best results.
My mobility is better, stiffness and I can tell the inflamation is down. It helps more then my prescription anti inflammatory. I really hope this helped your decision and gave some insight in to the different creams.. . :)

Really works! I injured both of my knees from over training. I'm 48 years old and I run 3 times a week. Other creams offered heat or cold to relieve pain but this product brought relief without just covering it up with another sensation. The day I tried Penetrex for the first time, I had 3 mentholated patches on each knee due to the pain. Within an hour of applying this cream on my knees, my knees actually started feeling better. I've been using this product regularly following instructions and it's been very effective for me. I been giving my knees some time to recover and have been able to run again once since I started using this product. This is the first topical cream I've tried that worked so well so this time I ordered the bigger size. I can only speak for my own experience with this product but I hope it works for others too.

I bought this after not being able to justify paying hundreds of dollars for a similar prescription cream. My expectations were very high and it has met every single expectation that I have had for this cream.
