I love this universal remote. I can use it for any of the TV that’s in my house even I take it to work to use it.lol

Simple and Straightforward

This remote was very straightforward. I purchased two of them (one for each room), and while each set up was different, they were both pretty straightforward. One I did not need to do any programming for, the other I had to do some programming for the TV and the Soundbar to work together as the Soundbar did not have a HDMI arc port, just the optical. The instructions were very clear with each step of the process. It took less than 5mins to fully set up and program it with my preferred settings. I also love the blue!

Incorrect battery size in description

To be clear, I have not actually tried this remote yet because I ordered AA batteries for it as it said in the description, however it actually takes AAA batteries which I now need to get Before I can use it. Just an FYI.

Works great

Got it for an old Sylvania CRT I use for DVDs and retro games. The TV doesn’t have a button on it for input changing so I had to find a remote. This one worked after trying a few codes from the manual. Took less than 5 minutes to get it working!

Easy setup

I am so happy with this remote. It was very easy to setup and worked right away to turn on our Samsung tv. The Roku was easy to set up with the code, as was our Samsung Blu-ray player. The remote is lightweight and feels good in your hand. The buttons are configured well and pretty straightforward. And the color is so pretty.

I didn’t received the item! There is no remote on the mail box!

TCL Roku Tv and Vizio Sound Bar

So since cutting the cord with Satellite TV, we have to use two remotes every time we want to power on the TV and turn the volume up and down. The TCL Roku TV would not connect with my Vizio sound bar and I have three of these things in my house. So I did some searching online and found these Philips Universal remotes that got really good reviews. I bought three. I just set up two of my TVs in under five minutes. It was so easy and now one remote works my volume and my TV controls for my Roku TV. Very happy customer so far.

Not as advertised!!!!

This remote is advertised as:

NOT SO! I bought this to control my Samsung TV, my Roku Ultra, and my Yamaha "Home Theater A/V", since that is what it is advertised to do. IT DOESNT! The ONLY "Home Theater-A/V" devices it will operate, are the ancient TV/DVD or TV/VCR combos, and a VERY short list of sound bars. Seriously? Ancient technology to control a VCR????

As far as pre-programmed to operate Samsung Tvs and Rokus? No, it does NOT! And get this: even when I programmed it to operate my Samsung TV, the only functions it will do (like many others have said) is turn the TV off/on and volume up/down. Seriously? My Roku Ultra remote would already do that!!!

Added to that the fact it has 4 "programmable buttons" (A-Yellow,B-Blue,C-Red,D-Green) but the Instructions DO NOT mention these buttons in any way, or how to program them. So, they are useless. As others have also stated, there is NO model number stamped on this remote anywhere. Its bad enough you would have to get online for support due to poor documentation accompanying the remote.... but you cant find support for something when you cant find a model number!

The remote is lightweight and not designed well. The streaming device buttons are TINY and hard to operate. I have attached a photo to prove it. Look how tiny the streaming device buttons are, compared to the Roku remote. Not to mention, the "home" streaming button is so tiny, and recessed lower than the buttons surrounding it... that its almost useless. Philips USED to be a high quality company. They should be ashamed for putting their name on this. Im sick of ordering junk that isnt as described, and decided a long time ago to just return everything that wasnt exactly as it was described or advertised, which is what I am doing with this junk remote. Dont waste your time or money.

Not good

The tv remote quit working after a couple of weeks. So it was a waste of money!

Would not recommend

It was a faulty remote. It was like the spring thing was out of line or something. I couldn’t even get the light to come on with brand new batteries installed in this new remote.

Love my remote

I love my remote. Super easy to set up and then I super glued it to the table beside my chair. I have a husband who is a remote hog and 4 children who lose the remote. Now I have my own and never have to search for ever to find one so I can watch the news. I also like that it comes in such pretty colors.

Roku back button search over!

This remote works perfectly to connect my Vizio TV, Samsung sound bar, Samsung blueray player and Roku. It was easier than I thought to program, took less than five minutes. A major concern when searching for a remote was the Roku back button issue. The exit button is the back button. I was afraid it would take me all the way out, but it in fact just goes one step back, exactly like a back button should. No compliants!

What?

I’m not discounting the fact that I could be a complete idiot, but holy frijoles...this was impossible for me to figure out how to set up.

I am redoing the review works on my vw 40 hdtv20a perfectly now I have finaly got my new batter 'not Included'

NO BATTERIES INCLUDED but works nice has nice light feel not bulky..

Works perfectly for my 15 year old DVD player!

I was ecstatic to find a remote control that actually works with a very old (15+ years) Philips DVD player I got from my grandfather. The DVD player was in perfect condition, but not having a remote was kind of a pain. It only took me about 5 minutes to program this using the auto search feature to find the right code as my DVD player is so old the code wasn't even listed. But it works perfectly! I also love that you can order different colors-I got the bright blue so it would be harder for me to lose. So far, so good!

Got to try this

This is great and very light weight it even controls my routine stick its great

Even better than expected!

I can honestly say I've never been this excited about a remote control! ^_^

We only have 3 devices that need a remote (TV, DVD & Fire Stick) & we'd been using a cheapo universal from Wally World but it only had a few functional buttons (and eventually just died completely) alongside the Fire remote. All I was really hoping for was enough to switch between devices, control the volume & turn off All The Things without having to jump up from the couch constantly. I had no idea this remote would work with the Fire Stick as well! It's a tad tricky (pressing numbers or the ABCD keys seem to try to switch to a non-existent cable box) but we figured out you can just press "Last" to UNDO most mis-pressed buttons. Very useful! Not to mention it's my favorite color!

The only thing is that the menu button doesn't work to open the settings on my TV which is not a problem for me because I almost never used that

Works exactly as described

We recently ditched cable, switching to over the air tv and roku for streaming. It was annoying having to have both the tv remote and the roku remote to switch between the two. Another thing my husband and I both found annoying with the roku remote is that there is no page up or down. We use Playstion Vue for live streaming tv. In the tv guide we had to scroll through the channels one at a time. With this Phillips remote we can control both our LG tv and our Roku with just one remote and when in the tv guide just hit the fast fwd button to page down and the rewind button to page up. No more having to scroll through one channel at a time.

I was eyeing up other more expensive remotes but figured I'd give this one a chance. For $11 I am very happy!

The remote comes with directions on how to easily pair to your TV and there are codes to enter to program the Roku. It only took me a few minutes to get up and running. The directions say that entering the codes to program the tv are recommended, I went through a handful of codes with no luck, then I noticed, later on in the instructions, how to auto program - worked like a charm. Not sure why auto program isn't listed first...

Buy this thing!

My life just got a million times easier. I had doubts because it was so inexpensive but in 5 minutes I have one remote versus 5.
