I’m excited to try my new Phomemo M08F tattoo stencil printer! The printer is compact, portable, and has a nice design. I love that it’s wireless and can connect to my phone, making it convenient to print tattoo designs.

It’s a great addition to my tattoo practice setup, especially as a beginner learning and improving my skills. I’m looking forward to using it for more stencil designs!

Amazing quality amazing customer service!

I purchased my printer back in September 2025

The printer is super easy to use , you can upload images or it has a lot of its own on the app. I use it to tattoo and I absolutely love it. It’s super affordable. It recently broke and I contacted customer service and within 3 days I had one delivered at zero cost due to still having warranty! Wow am still in shock as all I needed was a gear from it but instead they delivered a brand new one. I am beyond grateful ! God is good! Thank you soooo much!!! I definitely reccomend! I believe this is my first review ever . Am still amazed 😆🤩. Battery life is good! I recommend when opening the printer when jammed and to avoid issues , press both buttons to open at the same time so nothing breaks . It’s super easy to connect ! The quality is amazing as you can do highly contrast ! It’s a decent size and super easy to use again! 10-10 100% reccomend

I used this for testing, not a full tattoo shop workflow. My review is based on setup, paper loading, print quality, battery, portability, and general use.

Build Quality

I found the Phomemo M08F to be a sturdy, premium-built printer. It did not feel cheap or weak out of the box.

That matters because portable printers get handled a lot. You move them, load paper, connect them, and pack them away. This one felt ready for that kind of use.

Ease of Use

Setup was simple. The app connected immediately and found the printer right away. I had no issue pairing it, loading the paper, or following the instructions.

That matters because a stencil printer should get you to the printed stencil without wasting your time. This one did not make me fight the setup.

Value for the Money

For the money, I think this is a good value. Compared with similar tattoo stencil printers, this one gives you a sturdy build, clear dark output, long battery life, simple setup, and compact carry.

The value is in how smooth the full process felt. App connection worked. Paper loading was easy. Printing was useful. No jams. That is the kind of printer experience I like.

Battery

The battery lasts a long time, typical of Phomemo printers.

That matters because a portable printer should not need constant charging. Long battery life makes it better for travel, testing, and moving between work areas.

Compact Size

I found the printer compact enough to carry in a bag. It is thick, so I would not treat it like something for a slim laptop bag.

The noise level was typical for a printer. It was not silent, but it was not annoying to me.

I used this for testing. I did not use it in a full professional tattoo workflow.

If mine broke tomorrow, I would buy it again. It is sturdy, easy to set up, prints clear dark stencils, has long battery life, and did not jam during testing.

That’s my take. Use it well.

Barely took any time at all having the stencil ready

Excellent buy! Been printing a lot and works great!!!! Takes 1/2 the time if not more off the bigger more detailed prints! Best decision I’ve made and glad I read all the other reviews on brands and stuck to this so thought I’d confirm the rest of the great reviews !!!!!

Does great used for years no issues!

Great printer have used it for 2-3 years and will never go back to the classic hand tracing stencil paper! I have zero complaints just make sure you charge it here and there cause it wont print if the battery is low. Connects great to my phone. Great print quailty. I only charge mine about every 10ish tattos just to be safe about 4-5 months apart (just a hobby) have printed alot on a single charge doing temp tattoos for kids with this and a sharpie talking 20-30 on a single charge with still plenty of life left

Great little compact clear printing machine

So far, I have absolutely Zero complaints and a lot of Wow. I love the fact that you can be completly portable in your tattoo world, it can be plugged in while running or you can charge it and get plenty of prints without worrying about the battery. If you go to clients to do at home appointments, this is one less thing you have to ask to plug in. The software for it works well but be aware it has a monthly or annual fee (the annual is a much, much better value for the money). Uploading your own images into the software to print isn't complicated at all, and it has features to take your own drawnings and run different filter to give you different stencils for the specific style of tattoo you're doing. Its compact sized, comes with a nice bag to carry in. Its not too heavy or too light, its that perfect weight that say quality. It is completly wireless, can be operated by; phone, tablet, apple, android, PC. It also comes with all the wires necessary to to connect it directly, if you need to for some reason.

Works great for stencils for tattoos skin and fake skin

App works well to translate your drawings or images into printable stencils. Comes with stencil paper as well but also works well with other brands. Easy set up and instructions. Has clear instructions but took some getting used to and now I’m pretty quick with it. The more simple the design the better this does. I put two pictures on to show if your design isn’t transferring well to fake skin it’s probably too much or too little of deodorant or stencil transfer solution.

I just got it and am excited to try it out!

Nice printer, but you’ll need to make sure you have a USB charger that only supplies 5v

It’s a nice printer, my wife loves it, but there’s a warning on it to only use 5v and it has a USBC port. It is becoming increasingly difficult to find 5v only chargers, especially one that supplies 2 amps. The device or the cable could easily be built to block anything other than 5v or since they want to be different they could just use a standalone barrel type charger. Or they could’ve used a power management chip that handled USBC instead of using a USB chip and a USBC port.

Other than that the setup was simple and my wife was able to pair it wirelessly, she usually needs my help with this sort of thing and wireless printers are usually difficult for most people anyway.

It prints good quality stencils, it’s nice and portable, and it’s so quiet I can barely hear it print at all.

I would have given it 5 stars if it weren’t for the 5v only thing.

Study equipment & clean stencils

Clean stencils lay flawlessly. I'm not even gonna lie either I've moved & dropped it once & besides the side plasic piece falling off it snapped right back in effortlessly so love that its sturdy and prints consistently as ever.

Doesn’t work after a few months

Mine was working fine up until 2 days ago and it has stopped working at all.. very irritating it won’t connect to blue tooth and iv “reset it “ multiple times

Tattoo stencil printer! Bluetooth, AI and editing app. Loving it!

Printer came undamaged by shipping and was packaged very well, connecting my phone to the printer was ridiculously easy and took seconds, the connection has been great so far, battery was at 5% when first used which was a bit frustrating but I had a longer usb-c charging cord that I could charge it and use it at the same time. I also love the velvety bag to store it in!

I still need to figure out if there’s a way to reuse transfer paper after using a different portion of the paper- I don’t think the instructions were great BUT easily found online. The app was frustrating due to the charges for premium and when I did the free trial it limited me to only a few generations by AI…

Great Printer!

Amazing little printer, easy to use, simple, and great function. Perfect for travel or for my desk at home, I can’t stress how easy it is to plug in, hook up to your phone, and get to printing. Perfect for a traveling artist.

Great little machine

I’ve been using this machine since February and I’ve been really happy with it. It’s lightweight and easy to carry around, and it comes with a dust bag which is a nice bonus. You can hear it running, but the noise level is very reasonable and not distracting. The battery life is great — just keep in mind it does lose a bit of power when it gets low, so I charge it before it gets too low. The app is user-friendly and has worked flawlessly for me. It always connects to the device right away with no issues. Occasionally the paper can get stuck, but it’s rare and easy to fix. The app also has a lot of helpful features and makes the whole process smoother. The print quality is bold and clean every time. Overall, I definitely recommend this machine, especially for beginners. It’s reliable, simple to use, and gives great results.

LITERALLY THE BEST THING EVER!!

Slightly noisy but really not that bad, super quick! Stencil comes out great!

Took me a minute to tinker with and figure out. Wasn’t working for me at first, but out of curiosity put the sheet in upside down- came out PHENOMENAL!!

Also note, when putting the stencil in, if you get it in as far as you can before it registers and and pulls into position it’ll go through straight!!

Essential Tattoo Tool: Make The Purchaseeeeee

Love this machine so far! Very compact, good battery, simple to load, not crazy expensive. Good for beginners like myself.

Cons:

-Must print using their app (which isn’t crazy user friendly).

-Forced me to print one full sheet of a sternum butterfly tattoo as a tester - at least make it tattoo flash that doesn’t waste an entire sheet, dude.

-App also is difficult to resize images unless imported through the photos app.

-Battery doesn’t auto turn off, and it’s easy to forget when handling your precious stencil. Recommend turning off machine, then grabbing your stencil.

Love this printer so much!!

I love this printer one of the best and first ones I picked out! I had some problems with the first one I got sent returned and instantly got a new one the next day I’m so happy with mine the app is ridiculously easy to use! Just get it by far the best one ever the lines are freaking crisp!! You will not regret it promise!! Here’s a sleeve I did on myself for a video seriously love my new thermal printer!!! It’s made my tattooing journey so easy battery life is really good too!

You should purchase!!

My overall review for the product it’s works perfectly fine does what it needs to do, Good size to carry around or take it with you. Only thing is it is a little bit loud but it’s something you can overlook. The app is cool too.

Stay away! -subscription app to use basic essential editing fetures that used to be included.

Over all i like the printer and the app. Does a great job with a little learning of the settings. But let down by the stencil sheets they offer, as 1/3 of them out of a new pack are damaged.

—Biggest issue i have is the app the manufacturer put out. These features for stencil editing were free initially when i bought into this and essential to use the printer correctly. I interpreted this as included with purchase- which it says in the description. Fast forward a few months- now they locked down features and you have to pay a subscription to use the same features on the app that were included before. Dont update the app i guess…

But it pisses me off that they got my money on the printer, and cheated me on the quality of the stencil sheets (no resolve when i contacted them about it). But now they want more $ from me just to use the same editing features on the app that was included before??

-so now im stuck between mediocre at best stencils from a printer i already bought into, or another subscription just to be able to properly use something i already own?!

Petty corporate commercialism. Like having to pay to use the air conditioner in a car you already paid off! Should be illegal, would not have bought this if i saw that coming.

Great printer for detail

This stencil machine is actually really great. I prefer to bring this one in with me instead of using the two different types that are at the shop. it is so much better, and cheaper as well. It picks up fine lines and small details that other machines wouldn't be able to. The app is nice- being able to print directly without wasting paper. There are a lot of features on the app that are a bit unnessecary to me- but I can see being useful to others. Overall, this stencil printer is awesome for the price and it really surprised me. I attached a test stencil I did. You can see how clean the small detail is around the eyes. And how nicely it picked up the faint lines of the spots.

Buy this it’s worth it

Best purchase I’ve made by far for my stencils, like I really wish I had spent the money on this before getting the two Epson printers and expensive af stencil ink that I had coz they just ended up stop working, the ink would not show up no more like all the tutorials said they would and it didn’t last but this right here this small perfect to travel sized Phomemo printer is the best thing ever for my stencils. I mean the detail work it comes with an app that is free and gives you options on what to print like detailed and basically transfers it soooooo perfectly on to the stencil paper it’s truly amazes me how it works just wish I knew about it sooner so I hadn’t waisted sooo much money on the stupid other printers. It’s 2025 and I just bought it not to long ago and damn still beautiful stencils. I love this thing! Worth it here is some pics of the printed stencil and on the body.

Look No Further

TLDR - no need to keep shopping around, this is the one. Center skin is Phomemo, other two are a competitor. The printer is perfect.

My first impression is that it is far above expectations. The printer is great — crisp lines, clear images, all the right stuff. But the Phomemo app is where this product truly shines. Edit your stencil by cropping, resizing, rotating, improving line quality, etc. You can quickly add more stencils to maximize transfer paper usage. You can use ‘trending’ stencils if you want. You can even convert photographs into makeshift stencils. It is a very impressive bit of tech! And the integration with Procreate is incredible. The above photo is the same stencil using the same method of application, Speed Stick. The only difference is the stencil quality. The Phomemo stencil should have actually been worse, as it was a picture of the stencil, effortlessly transformed into a high quality stencil via the app. I also applied a stencil I made myself using Procreate. I used Stencil Stuff on the second stencil / skin and it turned out excellent.

I’ll update this review if anything changes my mind, but my initial thoughts are thus: don’t waste your time shopping around. You already found the perfect stencil printer.

Best Thermal Printer for Stencils!!!

This thermal printer prints out the stencils PERFECTLY. I don’t ever have problems with the stencils. The stencils don’t come out with missing parts and they are very pigmented and go onto the skin very smoothly. I did have trouble setting it up because the instructions are very short and too simplified, but once I did set it up, I did not have any problems. I will say that you should make sure to keep it charged because if you don’t the stencils will come out choppy, but that doesn’t have to do with the products itself. It connects super easily to my wifi and it’s honestly such good value for the price that I paid! I would highly recommend as I’ve used it over 30 times and it’s still working perfectly!!

i know these things are usually a hit or miss but luckily the one i received works super well it prints the images perfectly and all the images i printed were clear, the app also gave me no troubles and works perfectly too, for it’s value it’s definitely worth the money in my opinion

Does NOT print A4 sized paper, great for tattoo stencils

It prints up great stencils on the proper paper but as for printing on a standard size A4 (US Letter), not so much. The printer only prints 8.25”x11” and A4 paper (standard printer size paper) is 8.5”x11.” This is a huge let down for me since I planned on being able to do both types of printing on this printer. Oh well.. I guess next time I shouldn’t trust when the printer advertises that they print on standard A4 paper, I obviously need to double check the measurements.

Better than I expected!

Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much from a portable printer, but I needed it for a trip and tattoo convention. I use the paper that I came with just to test it out and it came out great.! Set up was like not existent. It automatically connected to my iPad will definitely be giving an updated review to see how much long it lasts but for the price point it’s definitely pretty amazing!
