You get what you pay for...

I was replacing 20 year old factory rear 5 1/4 rear door speakers in my 2006 Ram 2500. I replaced one and compared the old vs new and the factory one sounds much fuller with significantly more base and midrange. The highs were not quite as crisp but the Pioneers had a high pitch hiss-type type sound to go along with the highs. The bass/treble were set in the middle and we played with that a bit afterwards but it didn't help much. I had my teenage son listen with me and he felt the same about the sound quality and heard the hiss as well. We decided to leave the originals in there.

Sadly I didn't get the one speaker installed till after the return date due to a delay while rebuilding the rear door wiring harness , so not sure what I will do now...lesson learned.

The speaker has an extremely short lifespan.

The quality is extremely poor; the adhesive around the speaker has already come loose on its own, rendering the speaker completely useless. Its lifespan was only about two months. I specifically bought some glue for a last-ditch effort—after all, I had spent over seventy dollars on it.

Great fit, excellent sound!

Super fast shipping, arrived in factory box so no extra waste. Perfect shape, they work great and the fitment in my 1991 Porsche 944S2 is excellent. The stock covers look great on them, but I forgot to take a pic and its raining now. They sound excellent paired with my Pioneer DEH headunit. I also included a picture of the insane setup someone had in there previously, Alpine tweeter, RF 3" sub, coils etc, it was a mess!

Great upgrade for Toyota and Lexus front door speakers

Installed with no problems in a third gen Sienna and a sixth gen Lexus ES. The OEM 6x9 front door speakers in the Sienna were very light with a tiny magnet. The Pioneers also replaced the ES round front door speakers. The Pioneers are a very good upgrade for both. The included adapters fit good but 2-pin Toyota harness adapters are needed and foam strip insulation was used to prevent vibration.

I would happily purchase again!

I've bought two sets of these speakers to put in two different cars. The bass response in low-powered systems and high-powered systems are amazing. Very clean bass. There's a little bit more cone area than your normal 6x9. A very warm vocals. And the highs are very clean as well. You can hear everything in the music that the artist wanted you hear. The first set I put in a car with a stock head unit. And the second set I amplified. With an aftermarket amplifier.

Best 2012 Honda CRV factory upgrade!!

I installed these speakers in my 2012 Honda CRV to replace the factory ones, and I was amazed at how good their sound was. The volume is better than before, and the sound quality is unmatched. I can now hear sounds I couldn't hear with my previous speakers. If you want good "factory" sound without amplification, or if you want really good midrange speakers, these are a great buy. But if you want the bass to boom like reggaeton music, get a subwoofer instead.

First world problem Solver

First world problem; The music in my sprinter campervan doesn't sound very high Fidelity at all. Waaaaah!

I built the pictured speaker enclosures to improve the sound in my sprinter. This is an excellent van, but the original sound system is terrible. The stock speakers are 3 1/2” paper cones in the dash. I had previously replaced the stock dash speakers with 4” pioneer co-axles. This alone improved the sound, but left much to be desired. I replaced the stereo with a Pioneer DEH-S7200BHS, which gave a slight improvement, but still lacked. My plan was then to build the pictured boxes, fill them with these Pioneer 6x9s, and build a subwoofer enclosure for a 10 to 12 inch sub. The speaker boxes are made of MDF, with a .42 cubic ft. internal volume. They are sealed, not ported, and all walls are non-parallel to avoid resonance frequencies The bass response is so good with these that the plan for the sub is out. In fact I had to call on the equalizer in the ‘7200 to decrease the bass level because the low end response of these is so good. (-3.@50 hz, [email protected] hz. -1@125 hz.).

These speakers are also easily bi-ampable. The wires to the midrange and tweeter are easily accessible to split from the woofer. With the Pioneer 7200 having a built in crossover, this is the next step to bring this sound system perfection.

Overall, these speakers sound excellent in the enclosures I built. The sound will vary in any other enclosure, and even more in a rear deck or door setup. I did hook them up “free air” before mounting in the boxes, and was mightily impressed. The lows are obviously strong, having passed the Alan Parsons Project “Sirius/Eye In the Sky” test and the Pink Floyd/ Nick Mason “One Of These Days(Live at Pompeii)/Set The Controls For the Heart Of the Sun(Live at Pompeii)” tests. The tweeters pass the Mannheim Steamroller - Fresh Aire 4 “Crystal” test. The midrange is clear, well reproduced like a pair of Bose 901s.

These speakers are overkill for todays pop music, but can accurately reproduce the range and nuances of classic rock and classical music. Now, if I could only find a way to use a turntable in a moving vehicle…

Sound great!

For a cheaper speaker I was very pleased with the quality and sound of these speakers I installed 2 in the front doors and 2 in the back panels of my 2007 f250 and they sound great I highly recommend them.

Absolutely solid!!

This 6.5 speaker sound quality is awesome. The sound will not distort at high volume. Metra bracket did not fit so I had to modify the bracket that comes with this speaker. But it was fairly easy to modify. You can bend the hooks to break it off from the main frame by using a pliers(see picture). You should buy other brands for the speaker bracket if you would prefer to use it.

Complete upgrade!

Replaced door speakers in a 08 Ford ranger. Perfect fit! Totally changed the sound in the truck. Crystal clear highs, surprising bass coming from 6x8's! Would definitely recommend. Mistakingly purchased a cheaper pair from different brand first, luckily they are buried behind the seats and can't hear them much. Seriously considering ordering a second pair of pioneers anyway and throwing out the other pair! You won't be disappointed!

Great affordable sound

I hooked these up to a pioneer 1000watt two channel amp and they sound really good. Surprised on how the bass hits on these little guys with great vocals with the tweeters. Best bang for buck with great quality sound, highly recommend!

Has great quality of sound but did not come with long wire

It boasts great sound quality and is easy to install, complete with front and back covers. However, the front cover is made of thin material, front part is less resistant to pressure or tension. I received it damaged, but the customer service handled it well, promptly sending me a replacement. The speaker works exceptionally well, though you'll need additional items like a long wire for a safe connection, as it only comes with the speaker itself. Despite this, the price is great considering the quality and performance. It would be even better if they introduced new options or upgraded the design – perhaps adding small LEDs for a more appealing look or including extra wires in the box for easier installation. Overall, it has excellent quality, and I appreciate it.

Pioneer always has been an excellent brand and these speakers sound good in my car.

As always, Pioneer has been part of those brand that offer excellent devices for cars in the market.

I can remember the Pioneer KP500 Car Stereo, and really Pioneer always have been having an excellent reputation about all the products.

About these pair of speakers, I liked the quality of the sound, I got these for my Mitsubishi Outlander but I have to make a little adjustments in the doors to fit well just a minimum adjustments.

The difference between the original speakers that comes with the car and Pioneer was really notorious!

I liked the warm sound and punchy (Obviously are not 6X9 speakers) but so much better that those originals, with a very cheap sound, certainly I'm not looking for powerful sound, but just to increase the quality, those days to listen at maximum volume in the car passed away.

Now, I prefer the quality of the sound like these speakers, with the tweeter giving a crispy sound increasing the highs.

I liked that comes with a multi-fit adapter to mount the speakers.

And also the front cover for the speakers.

These speakers are 3 ways, at first, I didn't believe it. but yes are 3 ways.

The power really it's not 320W...

320W peak...not RMS, really it's 70watts but RMS (Continuos), but is good enough for your car.

The quality of the cone, it's pretty good.

It's a nice upgrade.

I had a set of six and a half four-way coaxials, by AudioTech. They sounded decent, they were very bright compared to the pioneers. What I noticed off the bat with the pioneers, is one they were louder, and two the base extension was much higher. They play lower, vocals are more pronounced, and they sound really good. They're not impressive to look at, I thought they look a little bit better, but they really sound good. I'm running about 135 Watts to each and I also have a set of tweeters on the a pillar which really compliment them. If you're looking to replace some stock speakers, these would be a great upgrade. I've never been disappointed with anything from pioneer, great stuff.

Clear sound and good bass!

These fit my 14 Ram with no problems, nicely packaged and great sound! Strong little speakers that definitely made a difference with some good clear vocals and bass.

Good back for the buck

I've long since upgrade the sound system on my 2006 PT Cruiser. Did a 6x9 conversion all round, have 2 amps and a sub. Never got around to doing the tweeters. But I soon tired of the horrific high pitch from the stock pieces of junk when the volume was cranked. No surprise when I examined my tweeters how poor of a condition they were in. I gently touched the cone, and it cracked like old paint. Not good.

I pulled the stock ones, and used a 9v battery to determine the positive and negative poles on the stock wire connector. (You can use a 9v square battery on the contacts of a speaker to determine polarity - If the cone pushes out, you have the correct orientation. If it goes down, flip your polarity).

Once I had this figured out, I wired in an additional capacitor. My amp pushes out a good deal of power, and without reducing the bass it would tear these to pieces. I will link what I used below.

Once wiring and fitting was complete, I had to adjust my Equalizer due to the change in frequency at the front end. But once I dialled it in, it sounds amazing. Significantly better than the awful sound quality from before. And it's a little louder, and these will be more durable long term.

I did not have to trim or cut up my dash, they just fitted. I got rid of the star screws my dash came with, and used the supplied cross screws from this kit to make things easier.

If you're considering replacing your dash speakers, you should buy these. If you are replacing dash TWEETERS, you WILL NEED a capacitor or you will trash your speakers.

Here is the cap I used:

Perfect fit on my 2018 RAV4.

If you know your way around speakers this install will take you about 5-7 mins each side, 10-15 mins total. Great crisp sound.

Fit F150 perfect. Great Sound😊❤️

These are a perfect fit for the dash of my 2017 F150 The sound is much improved I suggest using the factory mounting screws. A+++ to the Pioneer people😊❤️

Fuller Sound

Fuller sound for just plugging into stock system.

They actually fit perfectly without any modifications needed to mount them. I did want to use the factory plug from the old speakers so I unsoldered the clip from the old speakers, cut the factory resistor, since the new speakers already have resistors of their own, and I soldered the factory clip back on to the new speakers.

You could just splice into the factory wires for your set up, but my car has these four speaker wires per speaker so I decided to just use the factory clip.

The sound is fuller with more vocal mid and tweet. They are louder than the stock speakers at the same volume setting. I tested when I only had one side connected with the new speaker and the other side with the factory speaker. You definitely notice the difference!

Understand that you won't be blown away as if you connected an amplifier but for their size and price, it's definitely an upgrade over stock speakers.

I'm happy and would recommend this upgrade.

Significant improvement to front speaker sound!

Fits my Toyota Prius and sounds really nice. In addition to it producing more sound at the same head unit volume setting I can hear more clarity and mid range punch. If you are going to upgrade one speaker in your Toyota then do this dash speaker!

Very fine sound quality for the money

I purchased these 3-1/2 inch 2-ways for extra "front fill" to mount in the dash of my '04 GMC Envoy. They don't require a lot of power to run (as they really efficient). I'm running them off my pioneer deck with the high-pass filter engaged. I have owned Pioneer 3-1/2 inch 2-ways before on older GM cars and the sound quality has always been good. Pioneer has made some improvements over the years (like the PEI tweeters and carbon-fiber IMPP cone). They seem to sound a lot better if you use foam baffles when mounting them. 3-1/2 inch is not real common today, but if you restoring an older GM, Ford, or VW these fit many of those vehicles (especially 1970's - 1980's dashboards). I highly recommend these speakers.

I've replaced all my factory door speakers with separate Pioneer component speakers. I had empty 3-1/2 inch dash locations, so I purchased these for a little extra "presence" up front and they deliver well. Try Pioneer subs and amps as well, you won't be disappointed.
