I have them installed on my back porch and they are just what I wanted! I only turn them up half way with my amplifier and they are really loud. Great speakers for when you have guest over watching the game

Purchased these in June of 2023, and by June of 2026 the foam surround on one of the 5" speakers was falling apart. I called Polk for a replacement, and there was no stock on the $65 woofer. They will contact me when they have them in stock. Warning: Polk outdoor speakers only have a 2 year warrenty, so I guess they lived their life well. When working, they do sound wonderful.

Good "patio" speaker for light listening. Granted these fully enclosed types of outdoor speakers do not have the bass response as a ported cabinet but hold their own for outdoor listening. POLK is one of the "better" brands and the Atrium 5 can hold some power. Easy to mount.

Very easy to install the brackets and attach speakers. The bracket snaps over the speaker and easy to adjust. The large knobs that hold speaker to bracket are a good design to grip, especially for artheritic hands. The sound is very crisp, clear and the bass is more than I expected...in a good way. The size is a perfect fit between our porch cieling and our window and door frames. Just fit. Connected to a Pioneer receiver vsx-400 series.

I needed waterproof weather resistant speakers for the stern of my boat to replace an old pair of not too powerful and a bit worn speakers.
The speakers met my expectations in size, style, quality, and most importantly, acoustics. They are located in the back of the boat. In an open space and exposed to all weather conditions. The quality of the sound is outstanding and the level is as much as you need.
I have owned them for a couple of weeks , so I can’t tell you how they age.

Omg I have these speakers paired up with a Fosi Audio 30 BT and they sound so amazing. They sound super clear and have a good bass kick. You can definitely hear every instrument on any song. I only have a pair of these bad boys in my back patio and you can literally hear them all the way in the front yard.

These speakers were delivered in a smashed up box. When I opened the box it was clear these speakers had been used. The mount was off one of them, they were dirty and one was water logged. Clearly there is no quality control being done.

Easy install and the mounting brackets are so versatile. Mounted mine on 45 degree angled down. Sound is impressive. Live in Michigan so will put inside for the winter. Easy detach from the brackets.

Polk Audio never disappoints. I looked for a long time before making my decision and these are great sounding. Plenty of bass but not boomy. We have a large backyard so we put 4 speakers around. They have been out in our spring storms and have had no water issues. Color is not pure white but off white or light crème color. Over all they are constructed well like other Polk products.

Shopped around for awhile bought and returned several speakers. Although the speakers sound amazing where I mounted them i have gone through 2 sets in less than 90 days. I have them connected to a Sony 2 x 100 watt Receiver and they don't seem to be able to handle the power. On the 1st set of speakers one speaker started making a cracking and popping sound on or about the 3rd use. Unfortunatetly, on this replacement set both speakers made crackling and popping sound on the 1st try. Both sets never passed the mid point of volume. Tried my old Yamahas and they sounded perfect. Not sure what to say about these speakers. At first I was very very happy with sound quality. Deep bass and crisp highs. They just don't seem to handle the power they say they can handle. Gonna try Somos, Klipsch or Definitive speakers next. Would i recommend... Probably not.

I needed a reference system that simulates an outdoor array system in my music studio. Given the specs, I chose these babies. Wasn't looking for total transparency but somewhat similar, in a much smaller way, to an outdoor sound systems which aren't so much about transparency but all about delivery over a very large field. These were built for outdoors so they hold a similar frequency range. I hoisted them up high, just like outdoor festival sound systems where the highs and mids shoot overhead. To complete the simulation, a Yamaha sub was also used so the lows are felt on the floor. Suffice to say, it sounds awesome and now I have an festival-like sound system within the confines of my music studio.
Oh one more thing, the speakers are rigged so that they are height adjustable. See pics. That way I can also enjoy a cinematic experience or just good ol', analog stereophonic sweetness.

Purchased May 2019 - I have Polk speakers in my home and they sound awesome. I now have these external speakers from Polk and they also sound awesome. I was looking for a high quality exterior speaker for my pool. They installed easily and the mounting brackets are well designed allowing you to set the speakers like you want them. I've had them for about 2 weeks and so far, so good. I will update you on their durability. UPDATE 04/11/2024 - The speakers did not hold up well to the outside elements. During the summer of 2023, I noticed a rumbling sound from the speaker. An inspection showed both speakers with cracked woofers - one was really bad. Both of these speakers will need to be replaced.

This is my first Polk Audio speaker (indoor or outdoor) so I had to rely on the reviews in deciding which outdoor speaker to get. Mount/installation was easy and sound is great. I'm happy with the purchase.

Finally got these installed. They have awesome sound! I was afraid I'd have no lower tones or bass.... but these things do pack a good all around tune! They are hooked to a home theater receiver in our garage. I have a blue tooth adapter on that as well to stream from my phone on the deck. I put banana jacks on the speaker side for a profession install. Brackets are easy to mount and I love sitting on the deck more! The large bolts (basically a wing nut) that secure the speakers in will make it easy for removal during winter.

Great speakers! We have them on our deck out back. Sound is amazing! I liked them so much i purchased the Polk Atrium 6 speakers on the other side of our deck pointed out towards our pool.

Loving them!!!! I've had these on my list for over a year while planning and performing my basement remodel. While doing that I ran speaker wire out to my back patio from my planned home theater in the basement. I'm glad I stuck with them instead of going with another brand. (Though I have nothing to compare them to). Very nice sound stage imaging that I did not expect from outdoor speakers. Bass is quite good for the size. You obviously will not get as much as my Infinity Primus 363 Towers (or a 12" subwoofer), but it's much better than expected.
Amazing creative, functional and sturdy built in mounting brackets! I used #10 screws to mount the brackets (keyhole) to the overhang underneath my roof. I put one screw through the stud and the other only through my wood siding. The speakers are pretty light weight (4 pounds) and easy to handle and I feel that they are 100% sturdy and will not fall. The speaker is super easy to remove from the bracket and just as easy to attach. Great for bringing your speakers inside during the winter!
Problem: The banana plugs (Monoprice) that I have are too long for the cavity where the binding posts are. I pushed them in and are working for now, but I would feel better if I got shorter ones that fit all the way in there.
I'm using my 2nd zone on my Onkyo Receiver. The remote app is awesome. You can select your source, pause and skip songs and control the volume straight from the app. You can power on the 2nd zone without turning your whole receiver on and can do it all from the app. It is so cool! You just have to have your receiver connected to your network, wired or WiFi and have your phone on WiFi.

Using these for the rear patio driven by living room receiver (dual zone capability). I mounted them from the ceiling near the exterior wall. Sound is strong and crisp. I did notice the bass response had some unpleasant overtone new out the box. After some time of use and break in, the overall response has cleaned up. I do have them mounted rather close to the exterior wall which could be attributing to the early on noted bass response. Overall very nice quality units. Larger than expected. I debated between these and the 4. After some time using and enjoying the 5, I assume would have been underwhelmed by the 4. I would recommend these to anyone looking for quality outdoor speaker. Clear rounded sound and handle the power well from the Yamaha A840.
