Polk Audio Monitor XT30 Center Channel Speaker

great value

Sounds great, but the measurements are inaccurate.

I got the XT30 to team up with a pair of XT70s. The design is basic (not really an issue if it's concealed), but dialogue is clear and crisp. Great performance for the price. And if you can, take the cover off to show a bit of color.

A big downside is Polk's deceptive or inaccurate measurements. They claim the Dynamic Balance woofers are 5.25 inches. That's inaccurate. It's only 5 inches from one edge of the FRAME to the other. The speaker itself is a smidgen under 4.5 inches from the outer edge of the rubber to the other. So be aware of that when considering buying this speaker.

I'll give 5 stars for performance, but the basic design and inaccurate measurements are red flags to me.

It works

It works

One of the woofer domes was pushed in from the factory.

I did not test it out as one of the 5.25” speaker center done was pushed in and it appears the black color dome was not properly “glued” on to the silver portion of the speaker. The overall construction of the box appears nice. I ended up putting it back in the box for a refund.
