Probably over a decade ago I remember buying my first PowerA wired controller. It was the first 3rd party controller I ever bought that I could confidently say was better than the 1st party hardware. I used it for about 5 years exclusively, wore through and replaced thumbstick pads, and finally retired it after abusing the rear paddles with a death grip finally warped the plastic retainers. I'm glad to say after receiving this new one, that the build quality, and quality control still feel top notch.
I use wired controllers for PC gaming in my office where I'm sitting close enough that I don't need wireless. The 10ft cable is plenty for my use case, but It could be an issue if you have a larger living room setup. Otherwise the benefits outweigh the cons for me. Extremely low latency, not having to worry about charging a battery when you finally get some time to game, and not having to worry about battery degradation over the life of the controller.
The two programable rear buttons are all I need. Primarily play Rocket League where I map handbrake and boost to them. No companion app or finicky software required, just program on the controller itself. Then the highlight of this controller is the hall effect sticks. Ever since my first hall effect controller I've never looked back. Never having to worry about stick drift ever again is such a huge pro, and I'm always embarrassed for any company in 2026 releasing controllers with old analogue sticks. The rear triggers have 3 trigger lock settings which I know a lot of people love, Its not something I use, but having the option is worth mentioning. The face buttons all feel solid, easy to press with satisfying feedback.
The Fortnight glow art on these is really nice, adding a premium look that any friends I hand this controller to always do a doubletake to look over. I'm a big fan of PowerA controllers, and this one has lived up to their reputation. A great value, and a daily workhorse for me.

Works and looks great! Good replacement remote for someone who doesnt mind playing with a wired controller. Currently my son is using it and he loves the glow in the dark feature. Has some weight to it and feels like with was made with decent materials, although not as much as a wireless remote. The haptic feedback is pretty strong for his shooter games. The cord is super long but won't recommend you sit too far from the console as to not drop it. Overall feel, design, and features make this a great remote but if being a wired remote is a no for you I'd recommend you look elsewhere.

The main limitation with this controller is that it’s wired rather than wireless, but that also simplifies the design and makes it easier to hand to a kid without worrying about an expensive wireless controller getting destroyed. The Fortnite graphics immediately got my 13-year-old excited, and the included cable is plenty long enough to plug into my PC while sitting comfortably back from the screen. It worked on my PC without any issues and feels perfectly decent for an inexpensive controller. It’s not fancy, but it gets the job done and seems like a reasonable option for casual gaming or a kid’s controller.

My husband loves it!!
The material quality is what you'd expect of an Xbox controller (so good!). The size is perfect for his hands and it works great.
The buttons respond quickly and he says he likes how the back buttons are positioned.
The design is so cool! The colors are vivid and the images are very detailed. The design even pops up a bit too. We absolutely love how it looks in the dark too.
My husband loves it so I recommend it!

This wired controller seems well put together. I love the look/style and has a nice feel to it.
I like how long the 10 foot cable is.
The cable has a nice velcro strap to keep organized when not in use. The type c side of the cable stays nice and snuggly in place when inside of the controller with no worries of it falling out during play.
The cable feels thick and good quality.
The buttons have a nice click to them when pressed.
The joysticks have a nice grip and move smoothly.
I like that some of the buttons are customizable. You can change the audio and vibration settings.
The audio jack is a size 3.5mm.
I was able to adjust the trigger and thumb stick deadzones.
I am happy that I was able to use this on the Xbox one and windows PC 10/11 .
This came with a quick start instruction guide that has a QR code for button customization.
I feel like this is a great value with good compatibility.

Got on sale for less than $30. You got a solid feeling controller. It has the back button which of all controllers that I’ve ever used actually feel the nicest.

I picked up this controller because I was looking for a replacement that wouldn't drift, and this one has been really nice to use.
Pros: It has a really good textured grip, you can feel the distinct rumbling sensations during games, and it glows in the dark.
Cons: It is a bit expensive compared to some of the other wired options out there.
The physical design actually feels good in your hands, especially with the diamond texture on the back. If you don't mind the price tag, it is a really solid controller for long gaming sessions.

I picked up this controller for my 11 year old son, who is a big fortnite fan. I switched to corded controllers awhile back as I got sick of going through batteries.
The buttons work well and he had no issue hooking it up and using it right out of the box. Words directly from my son - so cool you can control how the bumpers feel. It also glows in the dark and he likes that. The quality is really good. You wouldn't know this was an off brand controller. Ergonomically it's great, exactly like its cordless Xbox counterpart. There's no stick drift.
For $45 that's not bad for a Fortnite, good quality controller. I got this one from Vine but will likely be back to purchase another one for my 9 year old. Great controller, great value, good aesthetic, highly recommend!

I currently have an Xbox Elite Series 2 Core controller that I use with an Xbox Series X. While this is Microsoft’s version of a “pro” controller it doesn’t have any kind of Hall effect sticks and so it can still be prone to stick drift and other issues. I wanted to try this PowerA controller because it does have Hall effect sticks and I wanted to see if there was a noticeable difference. I realize there is a large difference in price between the PowerA and the Elite controller so this isn’t meant to be a comparison but just looking at the PowerA on its own.
My first impression of the PowerA was that it feels incredibly light. My guess is that because it’s a wired controller it doesn’t have to have a battery or any kind of wireless technology inside and so it’s mostly hollow. My second impression was that the sticks feel really good. They move very easily with very little resistance and there is no way I saw to adjust it so if you prefer having tighter sticks this may not be for you. The triggers have 3 different locks so you can adjust how hard you need to press them, I tried the shortest one and found it worked well in a shooter game for repeatedly hitting single shots quickly.
The buttons and d-pad are kind of average although the d-pad is the traditional old style and not the rounded pad that a regular Xbox controller has so that may be a positive or negative depending on what you like. There are the standard menu and options buttons along with a share button and there are also mappable buttons on the back side of the grips. I don’t normally use buttons like this so I didn’t try them out, I will say they are kind of easy to press by accident when first using the controller.
The controller connects to the system with an included 10 foot USB A to USB C cable and the cable was thick and seems very durable. My system had no problem connecting once it was plugged in and you are able to wake the system from sleep and power on by pressing the Xbox button. The controller also comes with a bonus code for an item in Fortnite which was able to be redeemed online.

Really cool Fortnite Victory Royale controller – hall effect sticks + perfect wired performance!
I picked up the PowerA Advantage Wired Controller for Xbox Series X|S in the Fortnite: Victory Royale edition and it is genuinely one of the coolest looking and best-performing third-party controllers I’ve ever used. The design pops so hard — that bright Victory Royale color scheme with the bold Fortnite branding makes it stand out next to my regular black controllers. Every time I pick it up I’m like “yep, this thing is awesome.” 5 stars all the way.
First off, the hall effect thumbsticks are a game-changer. No more stick drift ever — they feel buttery smooth and super precise right out of the box. I’ve been grinding Fortnite for hours and the aiming and movement are spot-on, way better than my old controller that started drifting after a few months. The triggers and face buttons feel crisp and responsive too, with that satisfying click that makes every build, edit, and shot feel intentional.
The wired USB-C connection is rock-solid — zero lag, zero battery anxiety. Just plug it in and it’s ready to go on my Series X, Series S, or even my Xbox One. The cable is nice and long, so I can sit back on the couch without any issues. PowerA really nailed the comfort: the controller fits my hands perfectly, has a nice weight to it, and the textured grips keep it from slipping during those intense late-game fights.
The Fortnite theme isn’t just skin-deep — the whole layout and button feel scream “Victory Royale ready.” It’s officially licensed, so everything works exactly like a first-party controller (including the Xbox button and share button).
Whether you’re a die-hard Fortnite player or just want a reliable, drift-free wired controller that looks this cool, this one delivers. I’ve tried a bunch of other brands and this PowerA Advantage is easily my new favorite. Super impressed with the build quality, the hall effect sticks, and that eye-catching Victory Royale design. If you’re on the fence, just get it — you won’t regret it

I use this about 6 hours, normal use, my last controller lasted me 10 years. It never fails that when you need something you go with the deal instead of buying quality, but quality isn't something that reaps the benefit of building to fail. Don't worry, those of us who are making decisions on those type of things, they're high flying lifestyle will not be affected. 💋

Controller is nice, good quality, customizable, and comfortable to hold.

Great wired controller!
Soo far it feels great playing Halo, and jedi survivor.
I like having the extra buttons on the bottom to be able to assign whatever button you want to it.
The option to also make the triggers respond with a smaller press is also nice for shooters as well.
The USB c cable is decently long.
Soo far no complaints.
Also not too bad of a design if you like fortnite.

TDLR: A great Xbox HE Controller

- Hall Effect thumbsticks to prevent stick drift.
- Two mappable buttons you can program.
- 3-Way Trigger Locks and rumble triggers
- Dual Rumble Motors
- 10ft USB-C cable
- High quality feel
- Works great on PC
Cons:
- While price is decent, the value against other competitors in this price range makes it a tough sell.
- The Fortnite design used is a bit basic

The design and fabrication all seem to be of decent quality. The buttons feel nice and it's responsive. I like the programmable buttons. (The instructions don't really describe how to do this well, but there are lots of online videos that walk you through it.)
The *idea* of the trigger adjustment is neat in theory but a little pointless in practice, mainly because the triggers have no velocity. They're either on or off, so there's no way to control, say, the throttle/braking on a racing game. (I tested them with the Windows Game Controller software.) For a FPS game, this is fine, but I usually play driving/flying games, so this is a non-starter for me. Beyond that, it's a pretty decent controller and the graphics are fun.

Tried this controller for a mix of shooters and racing games, and it performs really well. The Hall Effect sticks feel smooth and precise, with no drift issues at all. The mappable buttons are easy to set up mid‑game, and the trigger locks make a noticeable difference in fast‑paced titles. Rumble feels strong, the grip is comfortable for long sessions, and the 10‑ft USB‑C cable gives plenty of room to play. A well‑built, reliable wired option that feels great in everyday gaming.

A standard layout Xbox controller with great compatibility. I plugged it into my Windows 11 PC, and it was immediately recognized as an Xbox controller, no generic 'Input Device' name or anything like some others give you. Worked immediately with every game I tried it on. Since it's wired, there's no pairing, no drivers, no fuss. You don't even need to download the software to change what the back buttons are mapped to. The cable (standard USB-C) is also detachable and replaceable, which is a plus considering I've definitely had some controllers over the years where the wire got damaged before the actual controller.
The controller feels good in the hands. Solid construction and no cheap plastic feel, albeit a bit lighter than the standard Series X|S controller (likely because of the lack of a battery). Sticks are smooth, responsive, and center well, but again, noticeably a bit lighter. This time I mean lighter stiffness rather than weight, which could be a pro or con depending on the person. Triggers work well and offer full analog input, but are comparatively a little more loud and mechanical sounding. Face buttons feel good, but again a little loud and 'clacky'.
Overall, this is a very good controller for anyone who wants something that simply works out the box without needing to worry about pairing, battery, or anything. However, if you're looking for something that feels 'refined', it might not be for you.

This is how it arrived not sure if this happened during shipping. But the controller Is also faulty.

This PowerA advantage wired controller arrived quickly and well packaged in a nice box that is suitable for gifting.
The controller comes complete with a very long cable and is beautiful. All the buttons work smoothly and no worries about running out of batteries during a game.
The controller feels great in your hand as it should and all gaming works extremely well with it. I'm sure using it on an Xbox will work equally well.
It's definitely a great value for the money and it looks and feels amazing. Would recommend anyone looking for a great gaming controller on the Xbox or Windows platform. Fortnite fans will love this controller.

The PowerA Advantage Wired Controller – Fortnite Victory Royale edition is a really fun controller, especially for Fortnite fans. The design is bright and detailed, and it definitely stands out compared to standard controllers. It feels solid in the hands and the buttons are responsive, which makes gameplay smooth.
One of the best features is the Hall Effect thumbsticks, which should help reduce stick drift over time. The controller also has extra programmable buttons, which are great for customizing controls during gameplay. Setup is simple—just plug it in with the USB-C cable and it works right away with Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One.
Since it’s a wired controller, you don’t have to worry about batteries or charging, which can actually be nice for long gaming sessions. The cord length is decent, though some people may still prefer the freedom of wireless.

I ordered this controller to replace my old one and so far I am very happy with it.
It feels nice in my hands and has great grip. It doesn't feel cheap in the slightest. And, there hasn't been any stick shifting which is huge. The buttons work smoothly without sticking also.
And, overall design wise the color and pattern is pretty cool.

Compared to the wireless Microsoft (MS) controller I’ve been using, this red wired controller (which, of course, has no battery pack) is much lighter. The thumbsticks have a slightly smaller diameter than those on the MS controller but both accommodate and hold thumbpad covers (see photo). The controller came with a minimal set of instructions that have a QR link to more comprehensive and multilingual instructions on the web. While better, I still found these online instructions to be inadequate, although they may be fine if you are already familiar with an “advanced controller.” In either case, you may want to use the QR code because the webpage it retrieves has another QR code: this one for a “Gamer HQ app” that “can be used to test, calibrate, and customize settings on your controller.” I did not test the app.
This officially licensed controller mostly worked with my Xbox One X, but for the first few minutes the thumbsticks seemed to have poor precision, causing more movement than intended. I haven’t seen this since and have not had other issues, except that the controller does not reliably power on the XBOX X unit like my other wired controller does. The audio jack, triggers, and other normal controller buttons all work well. I haven’t needed or tried the “advanced gaming buttons” yet but would have used these in the past and expect them to be useful in the future. I’ll probably load the Gamer HQ app if they become necessary. Overall, the basic functionality is there, and it’s initially working fine, except for turning on the box, so 4 stars.

This is a decent alternative to the much more expensive custom controllers out there. You get mappable back buttons, adjustable trigger stops and hall effect joysticks at a fraction of the cost of the big brands. The trade off is the wired connection and an all around cheaper build quality and feel.
The controller is comfortable, the trigger stops and mappable buttons work as advertised and the 10' long cord make the wired connection much more tolerable since you've got plenty of reach. Some people even prefer a wired controller because in theory they offer less input lag versus a wireless connection. My reaction times aren't fast enough anymore to matter for that debate, but I do appreciate not having to charge the controller. If you need, or prefer, a wireless connection other options exist in this budget range.
This controller works well and I think the hall effect sticks are accurate. I just hope they are truly more durable and longer lasting than traditional analog stick controllers because I'm tired of fixing stick drift! Hall effect sticks use contactless magnetic fields to determine position instead of a sliding contact like traditional controller joysticks. That should mean less mechanical wear over time.
The design on this controller is pretty cool. I ordered the Red Flame color and i like the monochromatic red look. The red controller front and the burgundy back, buttons and flames contrast just enough without looking too crazy.
Build Quality:
I've used Power A controllers before and build quality is about what you'd expect for the price point. This controller is comfortable and ergonomic but it's almost too light and the "clickity-clack' hollow sound of it takes some getting used to. I typically play with an Elite Series 2 controller which is much heaver and a little quieter so it probably just takes some getting used to.
Overall this controller works well, and offers great functionality for the price. It works fine for me on XBSX and Windows 10 and 11 without issue. I'd recommend this if you want a good back up or every day controller with a decent set of features without spending a ton.
Customer
This controller has been a reliable performer through heavy use, with no hiccups in responsiveness or accuracy. The build quality feels solid—materials hold up well even during extended gaming sessions. The adjustable thumb stick heights are a thoughtful touch, allowing for a more personalized feel depending on the game.
Extra buttons add flexibility, especially for players who like to customize their controls. And the Gamepads ULTIMATE bonus? That’s a welcome surprise that adds real value to the package.
Setup is plug-and-play, and while it’s wired, the connection is stable and lag-free. I’m seriously considering picking up the wireless version next for added mobility.
Highlights:
- Durable build and responsive performance
- Adjustable thumb sticks for tailored control
- Handy extra buttons for customization
- Gamepads ULTIMATE bonus adds great value
- Wired connection is stable and fast
If you’re looking for a dependable controller with a few smart upgrades, this one’s a great pick.

S.S.
The controller looks nice and has great features. I always love the idea of mappable buttons but I never remap buttons to be honest. The controller is comfortable buuut the one thing I don't really care for in most Power A controllers is they are so light. I think it's because it's wired and doesn't have the internals for wireless connection but I like a little heft to my controller. That's a personal preference though. It works great for my games otherwise
Common Cents
I got this controller specifically for the Hall Effect analog sticks. Those work great (so far... It's only been a week or so of playing - even OEM msft controllers usually last 3+ months before they're made unusable by persistent stick drift).
Pluses:
Plug and play out of the package on my Xbox series X.
The ~10ft usb-A (console side) to usb-c (controller side) cord is not permanently attached to the controller!
Pretty close to the same size and geometry as the msft controllers
Works natively on PC too
Hall Effect analog sensors operate smoothly and supposedly drift proof
Nice design, looks sharp!
Wired controllers have noticable less lag than wireless ones
Standard size thumbsticks so my extenders popped right on without issue
Minuses:
The buttons (especially the bumpers and triggers) feel 'soft' like there's no resistance
The depth/sensitivity switches for the triggers actually prevents them from being recognized as being pressed in some games without changing the in-game deadzone settings
Even the knurled read of the controller is still slippery to hold
Has a headphone jack without the Xbox connector, so some headsets/accessories (like my plantronics mixamp which I absolutely love) won't work
D-pad sensitivity issues with occasional double taps or misses pressed
Overall I like the controller and am impressed with the analog sticks, but I wish the rest of it was up to par as well. I don't think I'll use it on competitive games, but for more casual or single player sessions. 3.6* rounded up because at roughly 1/2 of the MSRP of an OEM controller it's actually a pretty good value for non-hardcore gamers
Vine Reviewer
I picked up this PowerA Advantage Wired Controller in the Red Flame design after my old Xbox controller started drifting, and it has completely exceeded my expectations. The first thing I noticed was how solid and comfortable it feels in hand, with the textured grip giving it that premium, confident feel that you usually only get from higher-end wireless models. The thumbsticks use Hall Effect sensors, which means no more worrying about stick drift, and they move with such smooth precision that aiming and movement in FPS games feel instantly sharper. I’ve been using it mostly for Halo Infinite and Forza, and the adjustable trigger locks are an absolute win, letting me switch between fast-tapping precision in shooters and full throttle when racing. The two programmable rear buttons are another standout, especially since you can map them mid-game without pausing to mess with settings, which makes it perfect for quick reactions. The dual rumble motors add a surprising amount of immersion, and even though it’s a wired controller, the 10-foot cable gives plenty of room to move around comfortably. What impressed me most is how cool and reliable it stays during long gaming sessions, and for the price, it feels like a professional setup that performs better than many expensive wireless ones. It’s stylish, sturdy, and incredibly responsive, and now it’s my go-to controller every time I sit down to play, 5 Stars!

The PowerA is a great controller that holds its' own against the Xbox branded standard controllers. And it adds to it. Likes its top shelf counterpart the Elite, this is sort of a combination of both. It doesn't have the heavy weight of the Elite but it does have similar features, including back paddles integrated into the handles (you won't loose them) and trigger adjustments if you like a quick click or the feel of full trigger pull down.
I have to say, I've had more problems with the Elite controllers than one should at its price point. I'm getting every bit of the same action but reasonably priced. On top of that, the stick use Hall effect movement so you won't get stick drift and that alone is worth every penny. I did get the wired version as I'm close to my screen and it doesn't really bother me but if you like full freedom or play across a room, choose a wireless option.
The feel, they feel amazing compared to many off shoot controllers for xbox. Contours to my hands perfectly. Only thing is that I would like to have some grip on the handles. The controller is so smooth which is great but some rubbery texture feels like it's missing. That said, I've played hours non stop with no hand issues.
This is series is fun, even if Fortnight isn't your jam the controllers design cover has crazy cool artwork.
