Decent! I like this!

I chose this controller to see how it works and looks along with my other pink controller and honestly, it looks even better in person. The pastel gradient is super clean and gives it a really unique vibe compared to standard controllers.

Performance wise, it does what it needs to do. The Hall Effect sticks are a big plus since they’re supposed to help prevent stick drift, which is something I’ve dealt with before on other controllers. The response feels pretty quick and smooth, and I didn’t notice any major lag while playing.

The controller is lightweight but still feels sturdy enough. It’s comfortable to hold for longer gaming sessions, and the buttons are responsive without feeling too stiff or too soft.

That said, it’s not perfect. The build quality doesn’t feel quite as premium as an official Xbox controller, it does work well, but you can tell it’s more of a budget friendly option.

Overall, if you want something stylish, functional, and a bit different from the usual, this is a good pick. Just don’t expect it to fully replace the feel of a Xbox controller.

A full featured plus controller with a fun color!

I really love this controller! The "Beach Vibes" color really stands out. The hand feel is good, device options robust, and it is very responsive.

What I liked:

1. It was packed really well and came with all the accessories one would need: a long USB C and receiver for wirelessly connecting to a PC without the Xbox adapter or Bluetooth. The inner carton has instructions for using the controller, including how to program the extra buttons. It was a nice touch.

2. It has a good feel, the weight of the controller is lighter than the core MS one but still heavy enough. The materials are on the upper end of 3rd party controllers. There was one comfort issue but I will save that for dislikes.

3. The connectivity options; Bluetooth, USB-C, or included adapter. You can connect it to your X-box or any other PC/Android device. I did not experience any disconnects during multiple play sessions on the X-Box or PC using the included adapter.

4. Hall Effect and Actual Controller response. I did not experience any issues such as lag during playing sessions (played Forza Horizon 5 on PC and X-box).

5. Charged very fast, I was able to use the controller dead out of the box for 1.5 hours after only 15 minutes charging. It was still going after that time!

6. Did I mention the funky color!

7. I do like the programability but honestly have not used it yet.

What I disliked:

1. While comfortable during the session I did experience hand cramps afterwards. I have very large hands so it should be fine for people with average sized hands.

2. While I'm not deducting for it I am conflicted about the price. It is definitely cheaper than the elite controller but also more expensive than the standard controller. It does have more features but at the current price I'm not sure I wouldn't drop the additional money on a first party Elite (20-30 more when on sale). I think if this was about $10 cheaper I'd be much more comfortable price wise. At the current price I still think it's good for what you get.

Those things considered I really like this controller. I think it will be my Wive's favorite when we play X-Box together.

Pretty Controller, Crappy Software

- Resembles a PS5 pro controller (the buttons on the backside are similar), which we thought was kind of cool.

- Includes a charging cable & a matching colored dongle, not just a plain black or white one. The colors are nice and my daughters and wife will use it sometimes. They love how it looks.

- Has cable vs Bluetooth vs dongle modes (there's a switch located on the back of the controller to change this).

- The switches on the back change it from long press trigger to short press trigger mode & vice versa (how long it takes you to press down on the trigger could determine whether you win or lose in competitive gaming). I personally like this feature because I do play some games where this would be useful to me.

- It has a pro/map button on the back for mapping buttons to your preference. This seemed good initially, but later I discovered I couldn't quite do what I wanted to with this (see more below).

- I'd like to mention that I'm not ignorant when it comes to electronics/computers/software, and I have worked with a controller/software similar to this before. Having said this, I did encounter some obstacles that made it frustrating to test this out and ultimately lowered the star rating I gave this product. This is touched on below.

- It was a hassle for me to connect and change settings. The 3rd party software sucks - it recognized it was a controller when plugged into my computer with the cable, but wouldn't connect/register to actually USE it. It said it was a non-PowerA controller lol, when it actually is one... What?? How does that make any sense? There was another issue that occurred because I was prompted to follow some instructions on the screen, which then disabled my ability to update it. I cannot figure out how to fix this, which is frustrating.

- I had some trouble mapping buttons, which I've done before so I found this a little frustrating as well. I was also hoping to remap both joy sticks (L3 and R3) to one button (the back extra buttons [called paddle buttons on a PS5 pro controller]) for my 6yo son to help him when he needs to press both joysticks simultaneously in order to perform a move in a game because it's difficult for him to do. I'm kind of bummed about this. It's the main remapping feature I wanted to change.

- A minor issue I have is that it's not as "grippy" on the handles as a legit Xbox controller is. There's a textured print on the back that's good-ish, while the front is too slippery by comparison. Our kids will definitely drop it if they use it.

- The rumble feature is nice, as well as the screenshot option on the controller that can take a picture of your PC screen when pressed.

- Do you want an analog or a digital trigger button press? (See the short video attached to this review)

- The Xbox button light changes color, which is a nice feature. There are 4 color options (white, pink, green, and cyan). However, I can't figure out how to keep it changed from white. When I try to change it to another color, it blinks in pink or green or cyan, but then it goes back to the normal non-blinking white color instead of remaining changed.

- Overall, the features seemed like they'd be convenient/nice/enjoyable, but not as much for our use as we'd hoped, unfortunately. It does look appealing visually/aesthetically, but it's software is not great, and it's programmability is more limiting than I'd hoped for my use.

Better than the original.

My son was so excited when I gave him this controller. Besides the fact that the design and the color scheme are very cool, it works great! The wireless connectivity is smooth with no issues. There's absolutely no stick drift, which I personally have never experienced as I don't play video games, but as a parent of 4 video game playing children, I have heard enough about it to feel like I knew everything there is to know. So, I know that the fact that there is no stick drift is a huge deal. He honestly says he likes this better than his actual Xbox brand controllers that came with the console. So, I think that's saying something as those are the standard for a good controller. So if you're looking for a good one I definitely recommend this one.

Great non-OEM controller, but a bit overpriced

Starting off, it's a very sleek controller with a great design. I really like most of the buttons, though not a fan of the mushy D-pad; the clicky ones on the OEM Xbox controllers are much better and more precise. I also liked the packaging, very simple but still exuded quality. It comes with a really long cable, which is always a plus and it works flawlessly when used wirelessly with the dongle.

Onto more specific performance, this controller is very precise and highly responsive overall. The Hall Effect is very accurate, too. I don't own an Xbox, so I can't speak for console performance, but it works really well on PC; plug and play with no issues. I'm not a fan of mappable buttons (I've got ADHD and they tend to just be a distraction for me), so I also didn't try those out, but there are four in the back, so if that's your thing, there's plenty of them! They're clicky, like the LB and RB buttons, so I'd assume that they're precise, as well.

This controller is definitely a sleeper from Power-A! It feels pretty close to an OEM controller, minus a few details. The only real negative is that, despite how good it is, it's still a bit overpriced. I've tried controllers of similar quality for about half the price. But, if you want to get a good controller without all of the risk and time it takes to try out lower priced alternatives, this might be for you! I'd definitely recommend it for PC gamers that play with controllers and value high precision.

Responsive, Comfortable, and Great for Everyday Gaming

This wireless controller brings good performance without the premium price tag. The Hall Effect thumbsticks help reduce stick drift over time, which makes it feel more precise and durable during long play sessions. The Bluetooth compatibility means you can use it with Xbox Series X|S, PCs, and even some mobile/cloud gaming setups without feeling like you’re limited to one device.

The feel in the hands is comfy with that beach‑vibes design giving it a bit of personality without being over the top, and the 1000 Hz polling rate keeps the input snappy and responsive — especially noticeable in games where timing matters. Battery life is decent, and the wireless range feels reliable around a living room.

It doesn’t have the premium triggers or haptic feedback of the highest‑end controllers, but for regular gaming, it’s a solid, dependable pick that brings good control and comfort to your sessions.

Very attractive controller, easy to connect and start using

So I got this controller because I like the design.

Works well. Plug and Play.

Joysticks are pretty hefty on feedback and feel really durable. It has good hand feel and ergonomics.

Problems start with the Gamer HQ app not understanding this is a PowerA controller so I can't remap the buttons. That seems like a big miss since I got this to use with a PC.

Looks great. Inability to use the company's app is a real problem. Maybe OK if you are strictly going to use if you XBox. Maybe try something else for PC unless you just have to have the design.

Gold value and great color option

I loved the color of this power A controller. It is well made and the buttons feel great. The added pack buttons are nice as they can be mapped to other shortcuts. It comes with a USB cable so it can be used with other USB devices and not just for Xbox. I am going to use it for basic PC gaming as an additional controller or for travel. It came with a nice long USB a to c cable for charging although it still had a charge out of the box. I am a big fan of Power A controllers and accessories as I think the value is great for the price compared to the official controllers. It was well packaged and arrived quickly.

Controller with a lot of features and very unique design that sticks out

Arrives in a retail style box, great for a gift.

Controller has a very cool design that sticks out from the basic colors.

This controller has a wide variety of options for connectivity which adds to its price.

Has the hall effect thumbstick that are preferred.

Has a rechargeable battery built in.

Controller build is decent but I prefer the original oem controller's build and weight.

Fair value if you need all the features and like the design. If you just need a controller though, stick with OEM.

Smooth Controls and Solid Battery Life

I’ve been using this wireless Xbox controller for a bit now and it’s been a really good experience overall. The first thing I noticed was how smooth everything feels when you’re playing. I haven’t had any of the annoying drift issues that usually show up over time with other controllers, which is a huge relief.

The responsiveness is great too, especially in games where quick reactions matter. It just feels consistent and reliable instead of laggy or jumpy. Setup was simple and switching between devices worked without any fuss, which I appreciate since I bounce between a couple different platforms.

The battery lasts longer than I expected. I can go quite a while between charges, and when I do need to plug it in, the long cable makes it easy to keep playing comfortably.

One night I grabbed it for a quick game and ended up playing way longer than planned because everything just felt that good in hand.

Overall, it feels well made, performs like it should, and doesn’t come with the usual frustrations I’ve had with other controllers.

Finally, a Controller That Solves the Biggest Issues

I’ve been using the PowerA Advantage Wireless Controller in the "Beach Vibes" colorway, and it has quickly become my go-to for both Xbox and PC gaming. Here are my thoughts...

The Hall Effect sensors are great. Since they use magnets instead of physical contact points, they don't wear down over time. The precision is incredible, and knowing I won't have to buy a replacement in six months due to drift is a huge relief.

The "Beach Vibes" gradient is really cool. The pastel pink, teal, and purple look even better in person—it adds a nice pop of personality to my setup compared to the standard black or white controllers.

The 1000Hz polling rate is fantastic for competitive titles. The input lag is virtually non-existent, making it feel incredibly responsive during fast-paced matches.

It works seamlessly with my Xbox Series X, but the Bluetooth compatibility makes it just as easy to jump over to Cloud Gaming on my phone or laptop.

It’s rare to find a controller that looks this good while packing high-end specs like Hall Effect sticks and a high polling rate at this price point. It feels great in the hand, the buttons are tactile and responsive, and it's officially licensed, so you know the quality is there.

Highly recommended.
