Prominence Home Reston Ceiling Fan with Light

Perfect for Me!

My husband installed two of these Prominence Home Reston ceiling fans in my kitchen after he got tired of hearing me complain that the kitchen was hotter than the rest of the house (I'm sure I greatly contributed to the heat problem while I was using the oven, a toaster oven and had an air fryer going at the same time!). They look great compared to the fluorescent fixtures that were there. We had to go with the 42 inch because of the space where we had to install them couldn't handle anything larger due to clearances, and after having much larger fans in other areas I was worried that these wouldn't move much air. I shouldn't have worried about that, they move PLENTY of air and are perfect for me.

Good looking fan! Very happy with this purchase! Glad i skipped the fans from a big box store.

- Straightforward instructions; installation was quick and easy.

- Includes spare screws, washers, and dome nuts in case any go missing.

- Generous lead length (nstalled with a 12-inch extension rod and still had 36 inches of wire remaining) and wire

guage large enough to fit Wago 221's

- Works with standard E26/ST19 bulbs; a slight outward swivel of the sockets provides enough clearance

- Glass housing adds a premium feel.

- Strong, high-output airflow

- Sturdy build and impressively lightweight. (No plastic parts, apart from the blades)

Fan so far seems fine but it arrived in a random plain brow box.

Update:

6/22/2024: I installed this in December 2023 and this fan now clicks constantly and the light part flickers all the time if I use the light. It’s not really worth getting this. I wish I had just invested a bit more into a Hunter or name brand. This one doesn’t last.

This really moves air. I'm impressed since it's smaller but I'm really happy with it. I wish it came with a remote. We have vaulted ceilings so that is on me for not checking. Great price, product is classy looking.

Install wouldn't have been so tough had the instructions been a step by step of how to get the body together. Install the blades before hanging, it'll save your arms. The S hook saved me a couple times, I was glad they included one. Not all fans and lights do. Overall, I love this fan.

Pull chain is really short

Good fan. Quick install. The 2 bulbs inside are pretty small. Doubt you can put a larger size bulb with higher lumens. Pull Chain is too short for a 5'5" tall person to reach. Better buy a longer one and add it or use the switches.

I love these fans.

We just replaced every fan in our house with these. They have everything needed and look very nice. I think they’re labeled as bronze but they look matte black to me. Husband had no complaints — other than his never ending honey do list— about installing these.

Great farmhouse/modern style

Love how this looks! Put this in my son’s room and it made it looks FANtastic.

It’s not loud. Normal sound. Light is great. 3 levels of fan speed.

My husband and father in law installed this and it took them a little longer than they expected, but that was because of our wiring. And trying to angle the blades correctly for install. Also, when looking for how to unscrew the motor screws, there’s a cut out section that your turn to reveal the screws on the underside of the motor piece.

Impulse purchase and I Love it!!

I have been wanting a bedroom fan since we bought this place, installed it last weekend and its perfect! Low profile light, fan speeds that could take flight and the best part ... it's absolutely dead silent! I smile every night as I crawl into bed. Perfect for a 10x12 room! PS I bought cute bear pulls

Small but perfect for a bedroom… get new bulbs though.

It’s a small fan but still works great for a bedroom. Throw the light bulbs away right away though and invest in some brighter ones. The bulbs it came with were so incredibly dull, I almost had to use a flashlight to open a different box of light bulbs to put in. Was better once I put different bulbs in.

Cool fan for 10 x 10 Office

I like the simplicity of the fan. Very quiet. The pull chains feel sturdy and solid. The fan moves air well. I typically run it on the 1st setting but crank it up to setting 2 on warmer days.

The right size for a bedroom. Powerful and extremely quite. The instructions are very well written. I had never installed a ceiling fan before and it was super easy. Perfectly packaged. Thank you!

Looks nice. Bright. Works well

Husband had a devil of a time hooking up the last bit but we are pleased at looks and size. Our bedroom is so little its perfect. Bright lights! It rocks when fan is on or you switch things on n off so thats a little wierd (we balanced it with the included balance kit- MUCH better) but its almost SILENT! Seriously quiet! Nice blades too and is that nice halfway point between farm and modern. Put on the blades before putting it up! So glad we read reviews.

Great product! Great looking to boot!

Easy to follow instructions. I had an issue with my electrical box and wound up having to buy and extender. Once I did that, it was a breeze (no pun intended). Only negative was that the pull cord is very very short, so I had to buy more chain for it in order to regulate air speed. In the photo, you can see a ceiling medallion. It is not necessary, but my previous fan had a wider canopy which covered up the hole of the electrical box. This canopy is much sleeker so I needed to cover up the hole in the ceiling. Additionally, I bought two 75 watt bulbs and it is now very bright in my kitchen. I really am loving it.

This is an excellent fan! Just as described. Great airflow and super quiet. Looking for larger version for bigger room. Recommend!

Excellent for the price

Took about 30-45mins to install. Has three speeds, and two functions which include blowing air downwards and lifting hot air up n out. Light that come with the fan is pretty weak though, but it was free. Unfortunately no remote though. All screws needed are included with packaging.

I love this fan! The directions were pretty easy to figure out. I put it together and my boyfriend installed it in our apartment. It works great for our office. Wayy better than our old fan. Puts out a good amount of wind and light. It looks really great too.

Your Basic Fan

Here’s what I thought of this fan. It’s simple, powerful and basic enough for my room. I was looking for something that wouldn’t take up a lot of space and was still able to deliver air. And this is perfect. My room is fairly large and it lights up the whole room. It did not come with a remote.

Rustic but not too rustic

I love that this fan is a little rustic but not too rustic. It’s smaller that what we previously had and it’s definitely a great fit.

Good quality lightweight fan that's easy to install

We have a fresh-air mountain home in which we keep all the windows open all year long. The only room in the house that has poor air circulation is in the kitchen. I needed a fan that was compact or we'd have to rewire and move the light location. This fan/light is the perfect size.

The Prominence Home 51015 Reston Farmhouse Ceiling fan was probably one of the easiest fans we've assembled and installed to date and we own multiple rental properties which we've installed fans in every room. This unit comes with extra screws which is always nice.

The light is bright and the fan blows a decent amount of air considering it's small and we have a cathedral ceiling. Quite frankly, we're very impressed and think this fan is a great value.

Quiet unique fan, installation is a pain

I love the look of this fan, and it's perfect for my small 10x12 bedroom. My handy dad installed it for me and he did not have many nice things to say about the installation. He's not usually the swearing type but he had a very colorful vocabulary while installing this! Once installed it worked great. We did have to balance it with the included kit. It operates VERY quietly which is excellent for a bedroom. It has a unique look and could fit many decor styles.

Small but mighty

The first time I tried to install this, I assumed it didn’t come with a ceiling plate to mount it to. I was very wrong. This ceiling plate is in fact included but it’s just different than what I am used to. Either way, this was a difficult install. My husband and I got halfway through and decided we needed help so we called in an expert. It needed to be flush mounted in order to not wobble and that was above my level of expertise.

A few things to note when installing:

- the mounting portion is smaller than what was there before so we have some patch work to do

- Wires are crazy long so I recommend wire cutters so you’re not jamming extra wire into the ceiling

The lights that come with it are the perfect wattage and give off enough light without being overpowering. The blades are smaller than the previous fan but this still gives off ample air circulation without being noisy. The sound is super quiet! I was shocked!! And I love the added detail on the chain pulls which show fan or light so you never have to guess.

Overall, I am really pleased with this fan. The look is sleek and modern and works very well. I’d you have a bit more experience than I, you should have no problem installing it yourself but it was tricky for us novices! I would highly recommend, especially if you know what you’re doing!!
