Horrible cheap keyboard

It is cheap. The keys are cheap and wont work. As soon as I started typing the print screen came off. The keyboard went wild and would not work.

Great ergonomic keyboard and mouse. Totally worth the price.

The only reason I am not giving five stars is because I just started using the keyboard, and I do not know how it will hold up. The keyboard feels very well made. The materials are sturdy and do not feel like a cheap plastic. I was using a Logitech wireless keyboard, but it was smaller and the keys are close together. I was constantly hitting the wrong keys. The keys on this ProtoArc keyboard are spaced a little bit more apart which is nice. There are indentations for your fingers on the keys. Of course the ergonomics is great. I have been using an ergonomic keyboard for over 30 years, so I've had so many over the years. So far, I like how this one is feeling. It comes with a rubber cover for the keys. I am not sure that I will continue to use this or not. I just have to get used to it. One of my keyboards had so much use that the letters had worn off, so maybe this will help. Also it does change the sound of the keys so if you are someone who does not like to hear the clicking, you may like the cover.

Smooth typing

Absolutely love this keyboard! Not set up at all! Connected all on it’s own after placing USB! Mouse is amazing too! Came with a keyboard cover too!

Love it! Money well Spent!

This not only is a beautiful keyboard I immediately felt a difference in my wrist after I set it up. I am new to the WFH 6 months in and there is no way I cld push any longer without ergonomic support. I am mindful to keep it charged and it doing just fine. I love the cover to keep the keyboard clean! It’s not to small not to big or heavy. Warranty sticker came with it with directions to place on the keyboard. The mouse is silent and smooth. I have no complaints it’s worth the money to me. I had no issues with it starting or connected all keys work just fine. Just get it trust me ! The packaging was so neat and sleek as well. There discounted coupons also in the package for other items so that’s a plus.

Horrendous battery life

It is not worth the money! I've barely had this maybe a year. The battery life on this keyboard is absolutely horrendous. It doesn't even last a week, so it might as well just be a corded keyboard since it has to be plugged in all the time. And the amount of times that it just randomly does what it wants to and type random things.

I stopped using the mouse because it would just randomly Dart all over the screens or freeze on me. While working I can't playing games with my mouse

Ships Broken, No Customer Service Reply

I bought this keyboard again as a backup. Overall it's a good keyboard/mouse, but it started glitching out today. So I grabbed the backup and when I opened it, the keys on left side of the keyboard are smashed and broken (original untouched packaging safely stored). So, it's not useable. I tried to contact the company and no one answers customer service line then it hangs up on you. If the company contacts me and replaces the broken product, happy to remove this review. But, now I have two broken keyboards and can't buy another from them since it will likely ship broken. Beware, expensive mistake.

Love this set; worth it!

I love this set. I got the white version & have had it a few months. The features do allow you to connect via Bluetooth to other devices if you’d like, I think others may be unaware where they mention lack of connection. I am now hybrid and considering purchasing a second set to have one at each location.

Beautiful Keyboard, Easy set up, Good value.

Ok I've had this keyboard for all of two days and it's been connected to my computer for all of fifteen minutes. And, I'm reviewing now because WOW is this a beautiful and simple to use product. I had a Logitech WAVE. I only had it for 24 months and it has been a nightmare. Loud, clacky, and laggy. The worst. I've been banging on my keyboard, obsessively changing my batteries, and blaming my computerS for months. Clearly. I was in denial,

This keyboard is gorgeous, sleek, and comes ready to work out of the box. It also apparently has a charger for the batteries (or a manual connection to the computer, not sure which). I love green, so that was a consideration when shopping even if a small one. But this keyboard, out of the box is gorgeous. Well packed, and setup involved finding the dongle on the back of the keyboard and inserting into my dock, which I use to control all of my accessories and switch between a PC and a Macbook. Second full disclosure: I have not tried it with the MAC but I do not anticipate any issues. Anyway, the Logitech Wave cost more, was harder to set up, and far more irritating.

This keyboard has a few things I love, the first being the color, the second, the leather wrist rest, and the third the built-in number keypad. I love these. So helpful for doing calculations vs. typing a few numbers into a document.

Style/Design: 10/10

Set up: 10/10

Ease of use: 10/10

All features 3/10 (dust cover doesn't work)

Will come back to update for reliability and connectivity with the Mac. That said, not sure it actually works with the little keyboard dust cover. I have not gotten it to work with that on it yet. It will cause the keyboard to disconnect from the Bluetooth and randomly press single keys repetitively.

Quiet as promised but smaller hands may have difficulty typing

Bought this to replace an old ergonomic keyboard that my coworkers gave me a lot of grief about due to key noisiness while typing. This new one is very quiet and nobody complains anymore! I got the red color and it’s very pretty.

The keyboard and mouse seem to keep their charge for at least a week. I try to just charge them on Friday afternoons after I’m done working. Mouse is comfortable in my hand.

My only complaint is that the distance between the two sides is wider than my old keyboard, so typing the letters B, N, and V are difficult for my size hands. Petite women may have a challenge too. Hoping that it’ll get better with time.

Not bad, but not great

I actually own two of these keyboards. One works great, but this second one (model EK01 Plus) has been disappointing. I’ve had it for almost a year, and while I love the quiet keys and the ergonomic design, there are a couple of issues that really affect usability:

1. Caps Lock Indicator: When I press Caps Lock, the green indicator light turns on briefly but shuts off after a couple of minutes. I constantly end up typing in the wrong case because I can’t tell whether it’s on.

2. Sticking 0 Key: The “0” key on the number pad sticks, even after using compressed air to clean it. I have to press it forcefully or from different angles just to get it to register.

For a keyboard that cost over $109, I expected it to last several years without problems. I’m hoping this is just a defective unit and that ProtoArc will address it through my warranty claim.

Rating: 2 stars — mainly due to the sticking key and the Caps Lock light not staying on. Otherwise, I would have rated it 4 stars.

Best wireless keyboard

This is one of the best keyboard mouse combos I've used. Connects instantly with no extra spam software. Bought another for my daughter. Thanks for a great product Howard.

Keyboard Twist is Bothersome

Main issue is the flex in the keyboard when I place my right hand on the keyboard. There are supports everywhere but the middle of the bottom. It makes no sense because that’s where the wrist go. I’m getting a stick on pad for support. Other than that, it’s a descent purchase. Not sure how I feel about them being rechargeable with no access the the battery yet. Mouse is great even for bigger hands.

ProtoArc Ergonomic Wireless Keyboard Mouse, EKM01 Plus (NOTE THE "M" in the model number)

This is a wonderful keyboard; so quiet and so very comfortable to use. I did not experience any leaarning curve that some others have commented on (even though it has been over 20 years since I last used my microsoft natural keyboard.) But the low rating is purely based on the backlighting (or the lack of it!)

This keyboard IS NOT BACKLIT! The specific key assigned to the light control key on the EK_M_01Plus Keyboard is used as a right mouse click. The button immediately to the RIGHT of the control button on the RIGHT side of the keyboard should look like a light bulb to know if the keyboard is backlit.

But, for me, backlighting is a necessity, so I had to return it.

Comfortable, practical ergonomic keyboard and mouse

Got this to replace my aging keyboard/mouse. It has eliminated my wrist discomfort. The keys are relatively soft touch. I like the soft wrist rest at the front. The mouse is easy to hold, nicely sized, and smooth. I like that I can recharge it rather than continually throwing away batteries.

I wish the keys were programmable - that is why it is just four stars rather than five. There are keys I will never use so they are essentially wasted - for example, I would like to have a way to start the Windows calculator app but this keyboard doesn't have a key that does that.

PROS

- Comfortable, both typing pressure and the soft wrist rest.

- Reasonable size for a full-size, ergo keyboard.

- Mouse is easy to use.

- rechargeable.

- Wireless. No delay at all when used with my KVM switch.,

- Beautiful packaging.

CONS

- Keys are not programmable.

- Bottom edge of the mouse is not rounded. It's not sharp, but it is not as finished/polished as I would expect from a premium product.

Recommended.

Awesome Keyboard and Mouse Combo for Serious Work and Comfort

This keyboard mouse combo feels and looks amazing! The design looks modern and sleek with a bold industrial feel that makes it seem like you're ready for serious computing. The typing experience feels good, nice tactile feel with great response and rebound. The split design is easy to use if you're not used to it versus a normal straight keyboard. The learning curve is not bad. You quickly get used to it and actually love how it feels. The ergonomics are wonderful with the wrist rest, and you can raise the keyboard. The keyboard has tons of functionality including a media wheel in the middle, a full F row, and your normal keys you find on a full keyboard. There are also, on the F row, several great and useful function buttons like copy, paste, select all, screen adjust, brightness, etc., but my favorite on this row has to be the dedicated settings button. You can also connect via Bluetooth or USB WiFi. Both are easy to pair and set up and stay consistent. Battery life is awesome. Note that this doesn’t seem to have backlighting, but this is no issue for me.

The mouse feels very good. It’s large yet slides elegantly, and I can comfortably grip it. It has a nice semi-rough surface for ease of grip and feels solid. All the buttons feel solid with a nice response and firm click you expect from a premium mouse. You have your side buttons (forward, back, and Bluetooth select), and the main two L/R of course, and the wheel feels solid.

Overall, I really like this keyboard mouse combo. I highly recommend it for any office worker looking for a quality keyboard and mouse combo that is loaded with features to help boost productivity!

Big, Big, Big!

Overall this set is very nice but it's quite big. It takes up a lot of space on the desk and I would think twice if you have a small desk. The mouse is also quite big so if you have small hands that might be an issue. It took me a while to get used to the keyboard and the mouse but I do like the split design. I also like the media controls in the center of the keyboard. This set is capable of connecting to three devices. One via a dongle and 2 via Bluetooth. You may well be surprised the first time you accidentally change the mouse into BT mode and the cursor won't move so familiarize yourself with that key. I managed to hit it accidentally once. Once you finally get used to all the features of this set though it's very nice and it's comfortable to type on. Batter y life seems pretty good since I have only charged the set once and I use it quite a lot. It feels well built and it easy to use if you are accustomed to split keyboards. It looks nice too. The click sounds just about right to me with a medium travel. I honestly think it might elevate my typing skills a bit and provide some extra comfort well doing it.

It takes a while to get used to it.

Just like my title says, if you are used to using “standard” keyboards, the learning curve with this one may take a while. Personally, I’m still trying to get to my regular typing speed and accuracy that I have with other keyboards, including my laptop’s, and I have been using this set for about a week at this point for work. The set comes in a really nice package with a keyboard silicone cover included.

The keyboard has pretty much all the buttons that I normally need and, although I have been normally more of a user of compact keyboards, I can’t lie that for work it’s really useful to have the numpad. Also, the media controls being located right in the middle of the keyboard is something that I wasn’t expecting to like this much. I would’ve liked to have some customizable buttons, though, maybe 2 or 3 that I could program to open folders or something like that. In terms of noise, this keyboard is comparable to a standard keyboard on a laptop, which is to be expected since the keys are basically the exact same thing, with the same travel distance as a standard laptop keyboard. The wrist rest pad is also nice to have. The main thing I would improve would be adding lighting to the keys, this would be a huge thing for this keyboard.

The mouse, on the other hand, is the quietest thing I have ever seen (or heard), the right and left buttons are pretty much completely silent, as well as the next and back lateral buttons. A couple of things I would’ve liked to see are a sideways action on the scroll wheel as well as a couple of customizable buttons on the mouse. The DPI change button is cool in case you need to be extra precise in your mouse movements, and the scroll wheel works as expected.

I have not tried to use the feature to toggle between devices, but the couple of times I touch the button by mistake, my laptop’s Bluetooth picked up the mouse and keyboard really fast.

Overall, I really like this set. The shape of the mouse helps with the hand positioning, and the keyboard, although it feels weird at first, I think, does help with the positioning as well. For the price, I would’ve liked to see some custom buttons on both the keyboard and the mouse, though.

New to ergo/split keyboards

First time user of ergo keyboard/mouse (kbm) setup. Initial impressions: GREAT quality items, responsive keys, and both components make almost no noise while in use. I appreciate the tactile response provided when clicking and typing. Keys are short travel, but you can still feel the switches depress. I can already tell that this kbm is much more comfortable than traditional kbm and provides a much more natural hand position, but there is a definite learning curve. This set works well with Mac, setup was super easy, plug & play. Both arrived charged and have not needed re-charged yet, seems like they have good battery life.

As someone who has been typing on a traditional keyboard for the last 18+ years, I was hesitant to make the switch to an ergonomic keyboard. Knowing the benefit of reduced stain, I decided to make the switch with this keyboard/mouse combo. I have only been using it for one day, but have found the transition to be relatively smooth so far. The less I over-think my hand placement and typing, the more proficient I am on this keyboard. The mouse has required no adjustment.

My WPM speed dropped from ~85 WPM with 95% accuracy, to 33 WPM with 33% accuracy, but my hands are much less 'stressed' feeling. I'm sure that I will continue to refine the muscle memory and feel like I'm already starting to adjust to this keyboard. Again. this is only day one of use.

Setup for both components was quick and easy -- I used the included USB plug and both keyboard and mouse connected to my Mac studio instantly.

Overall, this was a great purchase and the quality of components far exceeds my expectations.

Functional, easy to set-up with solid connectivity and a nice layout that makes it very useful.

The Ergonomic Wireless Keyboard Mouse by ProtoArc, is very helpful with some great traits, but some considerations as well. Here are some of the things I’ve learned while owning it and things to consider before buying.

I. Quality – It a well-made keyboard that appears to be produced from good quality materials. I’d put it in the upper-middle level of the quality scale for keyboards and guess it’ll hold up well over time.

II. Set-up – It was super easy for me to set-up using Bluetooth to my laptop, taking about 2 min max.

III. Performance – It’s worked great in many ways offering me a truly wireless option that has performed flawlessly for what I’ve used it for. The ergonomic set-up is a little weird to get used to, if you haven’t used one. It definitely took an adjustment period where I needed to look at what I was typing for a while. The key presses are smooth and short, but the clicking is louder than my laptop. They’re not as loud as gamer keyboards that have intentional clicks, but definitely noticeable. The 500mAh battery is sufficient and seems to last a while, but much smaller than my last one. It only comes with one dongle to connect wirelessly, which isn’t a problem unless you want to use the keyboard and the mouse in different locations at the same time.

Overall, this is a very nice option for a wireless keyboard and mouse combo, that’s easy to set-up, use and provides a great user experience. I’ll be sure to update this review, if I ever start to have problems with it.

If you’d find it helpful to see a visual inspection of this product, I recommend you watch my included video in full screen or landscape. They say a picture is worth a 1000 words, well it’s a video!

You can trust that this review is simply my honest opinion that is attempting to provide you with helpful insight that I wish I had before I picked this product. Hopefully it was helpful in your decision.

High Quality Ergonomic Keyboard

Ergonomics & Comfort:

The curved, split design of the keyboard encourages a natural hand position, significantly reducing strain during long typing sessions. The wrist support is soft yet firm, offering just the right balance of comfort and stability. The mouse fits perfectly in my hand, with a vertical grip that feels intuitive and easy to use. My only issue is that the "B" key is on the left side of the keyboard and I'm used to using my right index finger to hit that key so I'm still adjusting to the different layout (The "B" key is typically dead center of the standard keyboard).

Connectivity & Compatibility:

Pairing with my devices was a breeze! It supports Bluetooth and USB dongle connections, which is perfect for switching between my laptops. The ability to toggle between devices with the press of a button is a game-changer for multitaskers like me. I have a work laptop (Windows) and a personal laptop (Mac) and this keyboard and mouse really simplify switching between the two. There are two bluetooth buttons and one for the dongle so you just choose which connection to use and it connects right away. It works seamlessly on both my Mac and PC.

Typing Experience & Features:

Typing is smooth and quiet, with just the right amount of key travel. The keys feel premium, and I appreciate the inclusion of a number pad, which is often missing on ergonomic keyboards. The mouse tracking is accurate and responsive, even on different surfaces. Battery life has been stellar so far, and the sleep function helps conserve power. I like that both can be charged with a USB-C connection so it uses the same cord as most of my other devices. The quality of the keyboard materials is outstanding, though the mouse does feel a bit lightweight and cheap.

Final Verdict:

If you’re looking for a thoughtful blend of comfort, versatility, and performance, this keyboard is worth every penny. It’s an investment in your health and productivity. I’m typing this review on it right now, and I can genuinely say it’s one of the best upgrades I’ve made this year. Highly recommend!

W key barely works

I splurged on a ProtoArc ergonomic wireless keyboard on Black Friday because my cubital tunnel pain has kept me from typing more than 500 words at a time.

I love most everything about this keyboard if I put it in my lap to type. I am a wheelchair user and even the lowest desk I could find is too tall for me, causing shoulder pain over time, so I was hopeful that maybe I could find a fairly flat ergonomic keyboard to put in my lap under the desk. This one is slim even with the raised angle and seems to have a good position for my wrists and elbows when I am writing in my lap. Hooray!

The main complaint I have is the fact that the W key only works about 5-25% of the time, if I'm lucky. I'm actually writing this on my old laptop keyboard because this particular ProtoArc is frustrating to the point of being un-useable. There's no obvious reason for this key to not work, no damage I can see. Since I took it out of the box, I've used it for roughly an hour, tops. Hitting the key really hard seems to increase the chances it will work, and holding it down works okay too. But simply typing? This is not something I can use.

Large foot print, slow choppy mouse actions!

PROS: Nice idea and well padded for wrists, like the fold out rear tabs for angling, easy connection and charging, good smooth key actions, keys for virtually any function including gaming or device controls, accounting entry, and has a center ring and arrows for remote control type inputs, charging indicator lights, very good hand fitting ergonomic mouse if you are right handed. CONS: No biometric capability (even my older Mac keyboard had that), very large foot print so not ideal if you have a smaller desk or tight office spaces, mouse is intermittent at best (you need to press a button on the wheel to get it to start working, then the wheel is very slow, mouse indicator is ha rd to position correctly and deliberately, and only works on some of the screen sections, not other screen section areas) so very annoying mouse actions overall, key board "QWERTY" layout is split and your hands need to be angled slightly apart so if your not used to this type of layout, it's weird and hard to get used to, so this slows down your typing input too. Delete key doesn't work (have to use backspace to delete most of the time), print screen key does nothing (on an IMAC) . Doesn't provide charge level indication within bluetooth screen (Mac devices let you see remain charge levels). Overall a nicely made device if it works for your needs and on your particular machine, didn't work well or smoothly on my IMAC, perhaps it's really better with windows based devices? Yes, my IMac is well above version 12...your results may vary, but, disappointing for me overall.

Super comfy, great key action, somewhat "dull" mouse buttons

I used to have a Microsoft ergonomic keyboard that I absolutely loved - at least I loved how it felt to use. The buttons were mushy membrane keys that just didn't have a good feel.

This keyboard and mouse combo does at least half of its job really well, but I'll get to that.

The packaging is nice - everything is nestled securely in its place in the box and doesn't have room to shake around except for the paper manual and other paper materials. No concern there.

The first thing I noticed that surprised me was the wrist rest was soft. My Microsoft ergonomic keyboard had a hard wrist rest that fit my palms well. I think the soft rest will have its plusses and minuses. On the plus side is how comfortable it will feel. On the minus, I can foresee the day when it might wear out. I can't say for certain that it could be replaced but I'm not too concerned.

While I like the fact this can be recharged, I'm still a bit unhappy how so many devices have integrated batteries that may be difficult to replace. I know that the batteries will likely last quite a while but they will have a limited life, guaranteed. Given how long it's supposed to last on a single charge, I don't have too many concerns there either.

The keys are great on this keyboard - they have decent travel for laptop-style keys and they have a nice click to them. I love the feel! Key placement is decent and I found myself falling back into the split-keyboard layout naturally.

The mouse has a good weight to it, glides nicely, and has a very nice wheel. Given its weight, however, I doubt a gamer would really enjoy throwing it around. But then a serious gamer would probably use a corded mouse anyway. The buttons on the mouse, however, are not my favorite. I love the clicky microswitches most mice like those of Logitech have. These buttons feel like they have *less* travel and don't have a very positive click when actuated. While I'm sure I will get used to such a feel, I'm not fond of them.

Bluetooth pairing is quick and easy. I love how much better Bluetooth devices have become. Typing shows no real lag and everything is just responsive.

I appreciate that the devices both have physical power switches. Yes, they go to sleep but there will always be that "trickle" of power as it monitors whether or not it receives power. Not only that, but if I'm going to chuck these in a bag with a laptop, I don't want them moving around and "waking" because of a button press or the mouse sensor senses movement. The power switch solves that.

Aside from the Microsoft ergonomic keyboard, this is the most expensive keyboard I've used. However, I get both a keyboard *and* mouse, and the keyboard is, in my opinion, loads better than my old Microsoft ergonomic ever was.

Cheers to the makers of the keyboard. Now, if only they could have made the mouse buttons as nice as the keyboard's keys it'd be near-perfect.

I love this keyboard and mouse!

I spend most of my day at the keyboard as a writer, so my wrist and elbow frequently ache. Years ago, I purchased one of the original split ergonomic keyboards and a mouse. It made a difference. So, when the old maladies returned, I decided to return to the split design. That led me to get this set.

What do I especially like about the set? Let's start with the outstanding design. Both items are sleek and sport an edgy, minimalist black, gunmetal grey, and bright green design. Both are wireless with built-in batteries, which is another plus in my world. Connecting via BlueTooth was easy enough; it just took a couple of attempts. But, since I have other BT gear connected, I expected to have to work at it.

Did I try connecting via the USB dongle? Not at first, but read on, and you'll find out how it worked when I tried it.

Now, on to the keyboard. I am coming off a mechanical switch keyboard, an action I prefer. However, the keyboard in this set has a responsive feel and nice action. Everything you want is handy, including media control dead center. There is no need to stretch your fingers to reach remotely placed keys. The wrist rest is the best I can remember. It has a nice textured surface that looks like leather and provides comfort and support.

Next, the mouse feels great in my hand. My fingers lay naturally on the buttons and keys. Its scroll wheel may be my favorite feature. It is made from aluminum and has a knurled texture that provides sure control.

Is there anything I don't like about either the board or mouse? Yes, a couple of things bugged me right away. Both seem to go to sleep after a few seconds of inactivity. For example, if I don't type for a bit when I resume, the first keystroke wakes the board but doesn't put the character on the screen.

The mouse exhibits the same characteristic. I need to click a button if it sits idle for a few seconds. That turns the cursor into the I-beam, which sits immovable for three to five seconds before it starts to work. Finally, a key hung and spewed a steady string of n's across the screen. I don't recall seeing anything about adjusting sleep settings or keystroke actions in the user guide (yes, I read it:>)) so I'll be doing extra research on the issues.

As a troubleshooting measure for the "instant sleep" issues, I went to the company's website. The FAQs suggest deleting the BT connection, restarting the PC, and then trying again. I followed these steps, but I tried the USB connection rather than going with BT. That connected instantly, and I have yet to experience the sleeping problem so far.

Overall, my first impressions are favorable, and I expect to see good service from both products. If you suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome or similar repetitive stress pain, give this ergonomic set a spin. You might find it helps!

Solid Keyboard and Mouse Combo with Room for Improvement

I recently acquired this keyboard and mouse combo and wanted to share my mixed experience, highlighting both its strengths and areas that could be improved.

Pros:

- Ergonomics: The ergonomic design of the keyboard has significantly improved my wrist comfort, which is a big plus for anyone spending long hours at the computer. It does take a bit to adjust to the layout.

- Easy Setup and Use: The setup was straightforward, and the Bluetooth connectivity feature makes it very convenient to connect with multiple devices.

- Device Compatibility: It works seamlessly with Windows, providing an excellent user experience.

Cons:

- Mac Compatibility Issues: When using with a Mac, I've experienced responsiveness issues. The keyboard struggles to keep up with my typing speed, which can be frustrating.

- Functionality of Keys: The lack of dedicated keys for Home, End, Page Up, and Page Down, which require a function key to operate, is inconvenient. This could be a dealbreaker for users who rely on these keys frequently.

- Mouse Design: The mouse is functional; however, an upright ergonomic design would be a more suitable complement to the ergonomic keyboard.

- Bluetooth Stability: The Bluetooth connection has a tendency to disconnect frequently, although it does reconnect quickly. This can disrupt workflow and become a nuisance over time.

Final Thoughts:

Despite these issues, the ergonomic benefits and the convenience of Bluetooth connectivity make this keyboard and mouse combo a worthwhile purchase for those looking for comfort and multi-device compatibility. However, potential buyers should be aware of the responsiveness issues with Macs.

It's a good setup that requires some patience and adjustment to get accustomed to its unique features. Overall, I find it to be a good value for its price, especially if you can work around its quirks.
