I picked this trackball mouse to use while traveling and working in confined places with my laptop and android tablet. This mouse is very well made and reasonably heavy with a stable padded base that can pivot/tilt left to right for hand comfort. The mouse is a little larger than they typical travel Bluetooth mouse so may have a little trouble fitting into a laptop bag front pocket for a small laptop but otherwise the size is not a problem. The button placement is ideal with a DPI button (mouse speed control) and a multi-device switching button located just behind the scroll wheel. Once I got used to using the combination of Trackball + DPI button together to navigate wide and then fine distances, this mouse became super easy to operate regardless of screen size. The trackball is mainly accessible to your thumb only so you need to use High/Low DPI switching or you'll be repeatedly hitting the trackball with your thumb to move end-to-end across the screen. I've been using the mouse for a few weeks now with success and the USB-C charge is excellent though I'm in the habit of keeping the USB-C power connected when my laptop is also plugged in because the mouse is stationary. Over all this is a handy mouse that feels comfortable and natural for my (larger male) hands and works great once you get used to the DPI button.

I decided to try the trackball mouse because I spend a lot of time working at my desk and wanted something that would be easier on my wrist than a traditional mouse. The thumb-controlled trackball took a little time to get used to, but after a couple of days it actually felt very natural. What I immediately liked was that the mouse itself stays in one place, so I’m not constantly sliding it around the desk. The adjustable angle feature is also nice—I switched between the two angles to see which felt best during long work sessions, and it really does help with comfort.
The connection process was quick, and I like that it can pair with up to three devices, which is helpful if you switch between a laptop and another computer. The tracking feels smooth for everyday tasks like browsing, spreadsheets, and general office work. The rechargeable battery is another plus since it avoids constantly swapping batteries.

This mouse is great for somebody who has difficulties with carpal tunnel or after having had surgery on your hand or wrist. It is very comfortable and works beautifully.

This is a quality trackball mouse that I got to mix it up so I don't have to rely on my computer trackpad all the time. It's definitely helped with my carpal tunnel. This tracks smoothly and feels pretty solid. The buttons are soft, but once I got used to them, it was all good. The DPI is quickly adjustable so that really helps with the track and scrolling speed and overall, once I got used the the trackball, it's all become second nature. So, while this works well, I recommend mixing in a regular mouse and trackpad as you can so as to keep the repetitive movement injuries to a minimum.

This is my gf's first time using a thumb ball mouse, and she said after a brief learning curve, she really enjoys it!
She has gotten numerous questions from curious students.
The price is right one this one, especially if you catch the sale!

I've always been curious about this style of a mouse, and I've had nothing but positive experiences with ProtoArc. So I was excited to give this mouse a try.
Out of the box, they equip you with a manual, some simple instructions on set up and use, and even some support if you're experiencing challenges getting used to it. All of which I thought were thoughtful additions to the standard manual and charging cable that were also included.
After spending some time with it, I can confidently say that it functions incredibly well and is clearly designed with ergonomics in mind. One thing I really appreciate is that the mouse can be positioned in two different standing angles which helps support a more natural hand position and most comfortable to the user. I can definitely see the ergonomic benefits of using something like this long term.
The biggest adjustment with this mouse is that you actually don't move the mouse at all. Instead, the scroll wheel ball acts as both the glider and pointer. If you're used to a traditional mouse, that takes a little getting used to. The trackball definitely felt very sensitive to me, but I did adjust fairly quickly.
For my personal use, I found it a bit difficult to fully adjust because my hands can be a little shaky at certain angles, which made it harder for my thumb to get completely comfortable controlling the ball. That said, I genuinely think most people with average hand stability would adapt to this style without much trouble.
I actually really like the tactile feel of the buttons, they have a satisfying click without being too loud and the scroll wheel feels smooth.
It is definitely a bigger and bulkier mouse in compared to your standard mouse, so be prepared for a little more used real estate on the desk. I also experienced no lag with the 2.4G dongle connectivity.
Overall, this is a very well designed and functional mouse. While it personally does not suit my needs at the moment, I can definitely see the benefits, thoughtfully designed model, and why many people would love using it. If you're looking for an ergonomic trackball mouse and are willing to take a little time to adjust to the different navigation style, this is definitely worth considering.

Even though I just said that this is better than any Logitech I've owned over the past 20 years It does not mean it is perfect. There is always room for improvement when it comes to things like this. I do think the ergonomics are pretty decent. I have slightly smaller hands than most men and I do find reaching all of the buttons is not as easy as I feel it should be. To reach the forward and back buttons on the left side does require a bit of stretch for my pointer finger. Normally I am a fan of full sized finger operated track balls but I decided to give thumb ball a try finally. It does take a little bit of getting used to using your thumb for the movement over using your three middle fingers but I can see how that could work for some people I am still on the fence about it.
The scroll wheel is nice and sensitive though. I do feel the click on the scroll wheel is a bit too touchy. I have accidentally clicked it more times than I would like to admit. I do appreciate the easy to access DPI button that allows me to speed up or slow down the mouse depending on the activity.
The ability to switch between three different devices is extremely handy for me. I am able use it at home and on the road with just the built in Bluetooth I do not even use the dongle but it's nice to have that capability should I ever need it. I've noticed no real lag using the bluetooth.

I'm still getting used to this mouse because it's definitely different. I'm an amputee (right hand vs press machine), so I've had to basically relearn how to do anything I possibly can in a different way. This mouse seems like it sort of becomes extremely useful simply due to it being able to connect to more than 1 device. As far as using it goes, it is a huge adjustment because it feels like its too high up, regardless of which side I choose to have it angled at. That just be a me problem, but again, this is a first for me so I don't know. I didn't have any trouble getting it to connect to anything, but sometimes the button to swap devices takes quite a few presses to do anything. Other than those things, it's been fairly straightforward and easy to use. I love that its rechargeable as well because it does last a long time unless the kids are using it for gaming. Still, its much easier to just plug it in to charge it, not to mention much cheaper than constantly buying replacement batteries. I think its pretty expensive as it is, so hopefully itll stand the test of time. It's definitely the most unique and pricey mouse I've ever owned.

So far this mouse works pretty well if you have a hard time moving the mouse. I got this for my grandpa due to him having a hard time moving the mouse left and right due to his arthritis in his wrist. So far this mouse has worked pretty well and this definitely helps him. Note that there is no movement at all for this mouse and you have to move the cursor using the ball. The movement can be sensitive so it takes time to get used to it. It took a bit for my grandpa to get used to this as he was switching from the laser mouse to ball mouse. Honestly this is great for movement. It is not something i would use to game with as this is really hard to get that kind of movement. That device does run on a thin usb plug that can be store inside the mouse if you are on the go. It also works with Bluetooth so you can easily switch between two devices if needed. There is also a really strong grip on the bottom so you can be sure it will not move around when you are using it. It does run on batteries and can be switched on and off to preserve power. How long it last will depend on the battery you use. So far the battery has run pretty well and I have not had to plug in yet. The wireless part of it has some range I would say twenty feet. It is fairly compact larger so if you are planning to take it on the go, you can easily place this in your bag. The particular mouse design is great. The buttons on pretty sensitive and responsive. Note that the mouse color can fade over long period use. Overall this is a decent mouse but again it is something you will need to get used to. It was very helpful for my grandpa. It is comfortable in his hand and has responsive buttons.

I got the ProtoArc EM02 trackball mouse to use with both my laptop and desktop, and it’s been a nice ergonomic upgrade. The thumb-controlled ball is smooth and accurate once you get used to it, and being able to tilt the mouse to two angles helps find a more comfortable wrist position for longer sessions.
I like that it can connect to three devices and switch between them, and the rechargeable battery means I’m not constantly swapping AAAs. Overall, it feels like a solid “everyday” trackball for work or home use if you want less wrist movement and an easier way to jump between multiple computers.

First, the build quality is solid. Of course, it is molded plastic, but it feels good in your hand. This mouse doesn't work like most, it doesn't move on your desk. Instead, it has a roller ball under your thumb to locate your curser around your desktop. If you've never used a roller ball, it does take some getting used to. Years ago, I had a roller ball controller as well as a mouse on my desktop. This is a nifty combination, but give yourself a few minutes to master the nuances to control speed and location. After you get used to it, no problem. It connected easily via bluetooth as you might expect, and so far it has a battery life on par with my standard bluetooth mouse. I could argue this might not be for everyone but the ergonomic grip and function make life easier on my wrist, considering the amount of time I spend on my computer. The click functions are as you would expect. The scroll wheel is exceptional and rolls with just enough resistance. This really is a great value if you are looking for a wrist saving device that is just a little different than a standard mouse. I would recommend it for those wanting something new.

This trackball has significantly enhanced my setup. The adjustable angle is a remarkable feature. I enjoy being able to alternate between flat and slightly tilted positions based on my daily preference. This adjustment keeps my hand in a more natural position, ensuring comfort even during extended use.
The trackball itself is smooth and precise. I value not needing to move my entire hand to control the cursor. It performs exceptionally well in compact spaces and becomes intuitive with familiarity. The buttons are pleasantly quiet, which is a nice addition. Furthermore, the adjustable DPI allows me to fine-tune the ideal cursor speed.
Another major benefit is the capability to connect to multiple devices and switch between them instantly with a button. The battery life is also noteworthy. Charging is fast with USB-C, and the trackball lasts a long time between charges.
There is a minor learning curve if you’re new to trackballs, but after some use, it feels natural and effortless. Overall, this is a well-designed, comfortable, and thoughtfully constructed device that provides a smooth and enjoyable experience. Highly recommended.

As someone who suffers from Carpel Tunnel, this is great. It was my introduction into trackball mice and I wasn't sure how easy it would be to adapt. But it works great. No moving the mouse around, just the ball with your thumb. It keeps your wrist in a better position to keep it from getting sore. Has two angle settings as well.
With both wired or wireless connectivity, you can easily switch between devices or charge directly from the device you have it hooked to. Battery life is good, I get about 3 - 5 days depending on use. (I use it every day)
Pros Easy to set up, helps keep carpel tunnel at bay, good battery life
Cons: none so far.

Got this as I missed the old logitech trackball and this one felt just like it but better. Let me explain. The weight was more substantial so it felt more grounded and solid. The hand rest area was much bigger so my whole hand could rest on it (I usually wear size L gloves). There is also one neat trick where it can be more ergonomic or keep it flat like the old logitech version. Really nice touch. It's also great that this is able to use a dongle or connect via bluetooth to 2 devices. It's not bad at all on bluetooth and had no issues connecting. Definitely another great product from ProtoArc.

I have a friend that raves and exclusively uses thumball mice. I have never really understood the appeal of them and they seem unproductive. To be clear, I am still not sure if I see the draw OVER a tradition mouse however, what I will say is my expecations for waht this could be like were surpassed.
It's comfortable. Comfortable in a way that a verticle mouse could not solve? I am unsure but I found myself preferring the 15 degree angle over the more flat traditional angle. I felt like it allowed my wrist to rest a bit more. As far as what the thumball offers, I both felt like it was more relaxing and came with a drawback of not being able to meet where I wanted my arroww to be easily. For the most part, within a couple hours of using it, I had this mostly figured out but fine tuning sometimes or drag and dropping files is still something I have to work to do that I don't with a traditional mouse. Maybe this will be adjusted with further learning time. The scrolling once you find a DPI comfortable for you didn't seem as fatiguing as I expected it to be. I would almost say that it is better than a trackpad in this way. There is less finger "scrolling" needed. The DPI when switching between devices stays the same so there is no per-device memory here but not entirely a big deal. The battery light can be used to easily enough switch to your DPI level as it blinks 1-5 times depending on the level. Speaking of that light, it is on a very minimal screen toward the palm of the device and it is zero distraction implementation as it is under the palm and all lights turn off when a device is connected and battery is charged enough.
I don't think this will replace my mouse entirely but I do find myself wanting to use this as a primary on the go mouse if nothing more than a companion that I know I can rely on when I have very little table space. Which isn't something I expected to come away with using this.
My only two complaints are that I can't re-map the back/foward buttons simply (something that is an issue with most other mice as well) and that the USB-C is charging only and you can't plug it in to use. However, at least with the second issue, you can still use it wirelessly and charge it at the same time.

The ProtoArc Trackball Mouse is a great ergonomic alternative to a standard mouse. The thumb-controlled trackball allows smooth cursor movement with minimal wrist strain, making it comfortable for long hours of use. It supports multiple device connections and can switch between devices with a button press. The rechargeable battery is convenient and lasts a long time. The mouse clicks are quiet and not really clicky so that takes some getting used to.
If you’re new to trackball mice, there may be a short learning curve, but once you get used to it, it’s very intuitive and helps reduce repetitive strain. This mouse is perfect for anyone looking for comfort, efficiency, and multi-device versatility.

Having been a fan of thumb ball based pointing devices it was great to see a more modern and updated design on one. The build quality of this trackball mouse is really good. It feels durable and well-made. The shape fits my hand well and being able to adjust the angle between 0 and 15 degrees helps me find a more comfortable grip.
Connecting this to a system is very easy and offers three methods of doing so: dongle, Bluetooth or wired. The dongle also docks within the trackball mouse itself which is a great design decision as those can get lost very easily.
Using it is a breeze and it functions very well for daily use. It also helps to save desk space since you are not moving it around like you would a normal mouse. Overall, another great product from ProtoArc. Definitely recommended.

Nicely packed! Includes a lot of product info. Lots of instructions. The build, design & feel of this mouse is top-notch! It fits well in my hand. The controls, buttons, roller-ball, and design feel great to the touch & have the feel of quality. Everything is functioning well & correctly. The set up was easy and straight forward. I think it will hold up well. Appears that the charge up time is fast and the charge lasts a long time. I like that it is rechargeable w a normal cord. And like the lights showing charging & on. I think the price was pretty good. I’ve owned the trackball mice before and like using it, and it’s handy to use when you aren’t at a desk or table.

Very functional trackball with features that just make sense. ProtoArc seems to have the ability to design peripherals that make using them easy and efficient. This trackball pairs easily with my PC and tablet. Easy to switch between them on the fly without plugging in to either. Charging is efficient using the included braided cord and an indicator on the side for the status. Good position for the DPI button that lets me switch quickly while editing photos for those zoomed in fine tunning moments. The base has a couple positions to choose from and a non slip base that holds firmly in place. This peripheral simply feels like it was created for me and has made getting use to utilizing a trackball again really easy. The precise movement and useability is next level.
Good value IMO for this solid built trackball that functions as good as it looks. I have absolutely zero complaints on this mouse and think ProtoArc did a good job on this one.
