Better Than You Expect! AMAZING

I had doubts about the speaker but it works AMAZING! It’s small but mighty. I love the convenient size but it still has a good sound. I needed a speaker that had a aux for my old Zune and I honestly am so impressed!

Walking tunes

My daughter absolutely love it. The color the size and sound quality is perfect. It's also very easy for my daughter to work.

I thought I was disappointed

Sooo my expectations were that I would receive a retro Bluetooth speaker, I would receive an 8x8 inch little speaker. Instead I received a 4x2 inch speaker. It's adorable I was just expecting it to be a little bigger due to the picture. I was disappointed. But I turned it on and it was very easy to connect it with my Bluetooth. The sound is good and clear. The volume is the "tuning dial". Like I said it's adorable! The fact that it comes in purple makes it even better! I'm impressed.

This little speaker is sooo cute with a big sound. My granddaughter got one and I liked it so I got the same one.

After a few months, doesn't charge

Bought this in November. I use it while I'm doing mobile pet grooming. Now starting the end of Feb it will not charge from any if the outputs or with either cord I try. So I can only play it while it's plugged up constantly and be at an outlet. Also the strap broke so i can no longer have it on the wall. Disappointed. Thought it was the cutest thing ever and has good sound for it's small size. Of course I'm past the return date.

Disappointing

Stopped working after only a few uses. Very disappointing.

Beautiful Pink Speaker

Sound quality is good, could it have been better? Yeah probably but for a small speaker it’s still fantastic. Fits the aesthetic of my desk, and I use it in my office, in my bathroom when I’m getting ready and in my kitchen when I’m cooking. Love it 💖💖

So cute!

I absolutely love it! It’s adorable, sounds great and because of its small size, I can carry it around with me! The charging cord sadly doesn’t seem to be working but I had a spare so it’s fine. I bought a red for me and a green one for my father and father in law!

You won't be disappointed!

This compact speaker is so cute! It's lightweight, but seems pretty sturdy. The sound is clear, and the volume is loud. It comes with an aux cord and a USB charging cord. By plugging in the aux cord, you can use the speaker in FM mode, and it will scan for channels. I'm so impressed! The price is definitely more than reasonable. I ordered it for a white elephant game, but I'm tempted to keep it! 😉

Cute, but uses micro USB to charge, stops holding charge after a few months. DO NOT RECOMMEND

UPDATE as of 12/15/2025: So after using this speaker for about 3 months, it has stopped holding a charge, you get what you pay for I guess. I definitely regret buying this and not splurging an extra $20 for a better one. Its cute but has a short life span. Definitely do NOT recommend this, even as a cute gift for someone.

(Initial review)

This speaker is very cute, very small, and lightweight. I just wanted something small and quick to connect to my computer and to possibly take around when I'm traveling. It's super easy to use. The knob and buttons of the front work. I didn't read how long the battery life was which disappointed me when it died after about 5ish hours on full blast, however the description says 7 hours on 50% volume so it's not technically bad, I just didn't read thoroughly. It's not very powerful so don't expect it to be loud and blasting. I think this would make a cute gift for a teen or an older child. I think the price I got it for is fair which is about $14. I took off a single star because it uses a micro USB cable instead of the more common usb-c. It does give you a cable but it's a very short one.

In terms of size I took a picture of it compared to some nail polishes and pocket hand sanitizer.

Mighty little speaker!

Goes great in our camper, fits our thing perfect. Small but very loud. Connected to the phone perfectly. This is just an amazing little speaker. Was delivered when scheduled. I can’t say enough good things about it. If you’re looking for something small, but mighty sound, and has that vintage look, you will not be disappointed.

Charger port broke after a month

It's been slightly over a month since I got it ... I loved it, super cute and all but the charging port broke--won't charge unless I hold it. Ugh. Can't return it either.

UPDATE: The seller was prompt about responding to my issues and sent a new product. Hopefully this one will not break. Other than the break issue, it's such a cute, functional radio!

Such a cute speaker!

I primarily purchased this speaker to use it as a bluetooth speaker but I love that it also has an FM radio option. You need to connect a cord to it to work as an antenna in order for the radio to work. The sound is great! It's a perfect shade of purple too! Goes well with my purple themed desk. It feels very well made as well. This radio also comes with a manual so it's easy to set up and find out how to use it. The battery life I will have to update on later once I've used it for a while.

Funny Little Retro-Style Radio/ Speaker

I am a sucker for retro-mod stuff, and this Bluetooth speaker really caught my eye. It looks like a tiny old radio, and when powered on the "dial" (which is actually the volume knob) has a back-glow like an older analog radio has!

It is a Bluetooth speaker, but does not seem to have a mic, which does make it a little annoying to have to disconnect it to answer a phone call. Otherwise, it has plenty of features to be quite the functional little speaker.

It is pretty simple to pair with Bluetooth, the FM was easy enough to find out how to use in the directions but requires the AUX cable to be plugged in to act like an antenna which provides poor signal. The FM volume seems quite a bit louder than the Bluetooth, which is nice but can sound a bit distorted at a louder volume due to the poor signal and bass settings (that you cannot adjust).

The leather carrying handle is a nice touch for portability and gives it a much better aesthetic than just a cheap plastic little speaker. The battery seems to have a good amount of life to to it, as I've used it for the last few hours on Bluetooth and FM on a high volume and it has been just fine with no "Low Battery" warning yet!

Tiny

This product is much smaller than the photo represented. When I look back I do see the size description now. But regardless the color is not true to the purchasing photo. It is much more of a fake rose gold color on the dial and not nearly as nice of quality as the photo shows. I will be returning this item because it doesn’t fit my decode with the rose gold color.

Worked for a year.

I liked this little radio. I work in a Federal Bldg, so I don't have Wi-Fi to use for my personal devices. I bought this to use with my old iPod Mini. It worked well for about a year. (Purchases 1/19/24) with me only using it an average of 2X a week. As of today (2/4/25), it won't charge. It's plugged in using the DC5V input, but it won't hold a charge. It keeps saying "low battery, please charge" and then it cuts off. I'm bummed because I really liked this.

Great buy for the price

I was surprised that it was so small. I wish it was a little bigger. But this little old fashion bluetooth works great! I like the way it looks and I really like the color.

Worthy and classy vintage speakers

These little speakers are such a classic and vintage statement for our guest rooms. I bought two and placed one for our two guest rooms and they add style to the rooms as well on the corner shelves. They sound good and clear, great for standard rooms and spaces. Materials seem well made too! Would definitely recommend!

Small but Mighty

I bought this mainly for aesthetic reasons because it's retro look matches my orange and green bedroom. I had no actual plan on using it, but this tiny sized speaker changed my mind on its value. It's clear audio and easy to connect.. coming with Bluetooth, FM, Tf, or USB to play music. It took two seconds to connect to Bluetooth.

Impressive sound in a retro package

So many features in a tiny package. The FM timer requires you have the AUX cable connected to act as the antenna, but it works very well. It has a TF card to play audio files. You can also use a USB thumb drive or an external player video auxiliary cable. Bluetooth works well. It even has a built-in microphone which is usable but a bit tinny. Bluetooth works great however, for playing music. I use the built-in battery for over four hours, playing off of a memory card. This would make a great present.

Nothing beats its retro look!

This PRUNUS J-999 Portable Retro Bluetooth Speaker looks more like a decoration than a speaker; simply put, it’s beautiful. I got a rose one for my wife and tested it thoroughly, both for this review and for her peace of use. It works as advertised because it is a speaker to be used as a receiver. It has a solid base (see pics) and the blue oval (see pics) is a passive diaphragm. All the ports (see pics) are in the back and the charging port has a red light to indicate is charging. The Bluetooth pairing with my laptop and with my iPhone went flawlessly, but the volume not so much. It has an acceptable volume level as a wired speaker but not as a Bluetooth one; this maybe due to my devices, so when in doubt... One of the tests was have it in Bluetooth listening to a song in my iPhone and receiving a call. It immediately stops and when the call ends, I have to restart the song. No problem with that. The on/off/Bluetooth has a voice, a lady in my case, which is a nice touch. Great item for a Christmas gift.

Tiny, retro radio, adorable, surprisingly functional and feature rich

I was surprised how small it is, I guess I was expecting something more the size of a red brick. This thing is more like the size of a really thick deck of playing cards.

The style is retro and I like it. All of the controls are functional too which is pretty cool - 3 buttons along the bottom translate to Backtrack - Play/Pause/Power - Advancetrack. The old analog tuning dial I was pleasantly surprised turned out to be a manual volume control (manual meaning independent from the Bluetooth volume setting).

I was particularly impressed that at this price point it still included an analog stereo line-in port, a USB port and a microsd reader. According to the instructions, the latter two will allow standalone music playback for files on a thumb drive or sd card. I did not try this feature but can imagine the usefulness in situations where say you want elevator music or white noise in a small area and don’t want to have your phone or computer tied up streaming it.

If there is any weak point it is the volume. It really does not get loud. That said, I don’t see that as its intended function - it is a super small personal speaker, meant for an individual or a small group who are relatively close together. It should be perfectly sufficient for personal use at an office desk, a guest table, or in a quiet entryway. If you’re looking to fill a room with music though you should definitely look for something a little bigger.

Looks classic ,everything works perfectly worth the money

I was hesitant to order cause of some bad reviews but I still ordered it cause it’s beautiful. Everything works perfectly the volume I can raise it or lower it to my liking and I can also lower it with my phone while in Bluetooth mode .worth every penny !

Shortwave works too

I love the looks and heft of this radio. At around 3 pounds it feels like a radio should. I wanted this because my Prunus J-15 is my new favorite and this one was just too grogeous to pass up. You get all the modern stuff with a really classy looking and good quality retro build. The lit up blue dial is wonderful. The dial is smooth and even has the old style retro magnifying circle. What a great touch.

The shortwave is suprisingly good. Am or mw and FM bands are excellent. I can get some stations on this that my older more expensive radios cant pull in nearly as clear.

Blue tooth and micro sd work great. I have not tried the USB.

The speaker sounds full and rich. People I have played this for have been surprised with the sound quality. It can certainly produce enough quality sound to fill the room and my ceilings are high....this sounds better than most radios I have.

I have been using the built in recharegable battery. It really cant be accessed unless you take the radio apart...which I wouldnt advise....it has worked perfectly providing several hours on a charge. You could also use 2 D cell batteries or the cord it comes with to plug it in the wall. This radio will not charge D cells though so remove them if you plan to use a.c. current or the built in rechargeable.

SW is my favorite band. It really is perfectly fine on this radio. You will be able to recieve lots of stations if you turn that knob patiently in the evenings. It also picks up WRMI (Miami) and several others fine in daytime. I have some dedicated sw radios that do not pull in daytime sw nearly as clearly as this does. The sw band is 5.9 to 18 MHz. A decent range for a radio that pretty much does everything.

Prunus really makes quality radios that are affordable in my opinion. I love this radio!

Retro look with modern features

Nice retro looking radio with Am/FM and Bluetooth. Especially like how easy it was to pair the Bluetooth. Reception with the antennae was good. Works great whether plugged in or on D batteries. Sound is as good for a radio at this cost. Only small issue is the sensitivity of the volume level at the bottom of the range.

Just what I was wanting in a small and simple radio...

This little radio is just what I wanted. It is simple, has a good sound, great reception of even more distant stations, and I just love it! Of course the fact that it runs for hours on a single charge or can be used plugged in while it is charging and the fact that it is small and a cute little device helps too!
