Sweet Spot Speakers That Punch

These arrived quickly and were packaged in a clean, retail ready box. Inside you get the pair of drivers, grilles, and mounting hardware. Presentation is solid and very similar in style to their 6x9 counterparts, which is a good thing because those looked great and these follow suit.

Right out of the box, build quality stands out. The baskets feel sturdy, the cones are durable, and the rubber surrounds are well formed and do a great job keeping everything aligned under load. The integrated neodymium tweeters are cleanly mounted and give the speaker a finished, aggressive look. Paired with the included grilles, these look far from budget.

Now to performance.

Bench testing was done with a clean Class AB amplifier. At 4 ohms, using:

P = V² / R

At 100 watts RMS:

V = √(100 × 4) ≈ 20 volts RMS

At that level, the speakers perform well, but you start to notice a bit of distortion at higher volume. Nothing catastrophic, just a reminder that these are coaxial replacements, not full-blown high-end component drivers.

Dropping down to around 80 watts RMS:

V = √(80 × 4) ≈ 17.9 volts RMS

This is where they really shine. At this power level, the balance is excellent. Clean highs, strong midrange, and surprisingly decent low-end response for a 6.5 coaxial. Across most volume levels, they stay composed and sound great.

At lower power, around 20 watts RMS:

V = √(20 × 4) ≈ 8.9 volts RMS

Performance is more subdued than expected. They still sound fine, but they do not really wake up until you give them some power. These definitely prefer to be driven rather than idled.

They are rated at 160 watts, but real-world testing shows the sweet spot is closer to that 70-to-80-watt range for optimal clarity and balance.

Some experimentation was done by separating the tweeter input and running dedicated signals. Feeding the woofer a more controlled low to midrange signal and handling highs separately did improve overall clarity. That said, if you are going that route, a true component system would make more sense.

Installation note, mounting depth is something to pay attention to. The magnet is not small, and in tighter door panels you may need spacers or slight modification to get proper clearance.

Overall, these speakers offer excellent value. They look great, are built well, and deliver strong performance when powered correctly. They work perfectly as OEM replacements, do well in custom setups like DIY boom boxes, and offer better low end than expected for their size.

Highly recommend.

Huge magnets, lol. Really nice speakers.

We are setting up a new Stereo system in our main Rental Skiff. This will be our first built in system, I have a monster amp system suitable for the boat open area and picked up this set of speakers for in the Cuddy where there will be no weather. Our boat does not live in the water between trips. These are monster speakers and will handle all of the amp we are driving them with. Huge magnets, and a spring loaded screwless connector which will not loosen or lose connection under the stress of marine use and the sometimes hard movement. These will add a huge amount of capability to the on board system, it will be a big upgrade from the old boom box and I won't have to take it in and off the boat between uses. I will note these boats are used as rentals on the river. Can't wait to show the guys the new setup. Five stars, should be a boomer...

Great sound for the price.

The build quality on these is very nice. Solid feel, large magnet, very good terminals and a soft dome tweeter. I but these in the rear stage of my car with 150 watts each and they play all day long with no problem. They come with nice covers if you need to hide them. I put them in the stock door location so you can't see them anyway. They fit perfectly in the factory 6.5 speaker holes. The sound quality is very good with strong lows and crisp highs. I think they could easily take more then the 150 watts of power I am giving them now. For the price, these are really good upgrades to your stock speakers.

Nice sound and easy setup

Really impressed with the sound output and clarity of these speakers. The push style connectors make install and setup a breeze, since I didn't have to crimp any wires. They function great at all volume levels and have crisp clean sound for the value of these speakers.

Very impressed

These are great quality speakers that came nicely presented in retail packaging which was really impressive. I just installed them this past weekend and so far they are great! The sound quality is so much better than my factory speakers

Solid speakers

These look and feel like a solid set of speakers. Nice heavy magnets, squeeze connectors instead of the blade style or solder. These were a drop-in fit for our OEM 6-1/2". So there was no compatibility issues at all. Now, down side, unless you purchase a set of speaker connector adapters, you will have to cut the factory connector off. As for the quality, nice clean response, functions well. The speakers do have a passive crossover making it a single point connection. As for setup, can't get more straightforward. Plug and play. Package says 80w power typical, 160w peak. I cannot fully speak to this, as I replaced OEM speakers and these are connected to OEM head unit. But I can say sound response is clean. Definitely good value for the price.

This brands quality is next level, the sound quality is outstanding

These speakers are amazing. They have clean clear audio the sound is top tier. They are easy to install and function as they should no issues, the clarity is next level. I love the design of these. I posted a video of them in my truck after I installed them and they definitely made my setup sound so much better. I did have to buy a converter because these are 6.5 and my truck is 6.8 but it worked flawlessly and no issues whatsoever. I would buy again. Amazing brand outstanding high end quality. .

Upgrade to most factory speakers at a great cost.

I'm using these speakers to replace a pair of front orion loudspeakers I have since they don't seem to have as much clarity as I'd like. These are a direct fit since I'm using 6.5 inch speakers currently and they were super easy to setup thanks to the quick connect terminals. These have enough power thanks to my amplifier and it helps the sound quality issue I had with the orions. They aren't quite as loud but still very loud but they sound more clear I'd like to think thanks to the built in tweeters, functioning for a more clear sound throughout. I'd say they are slightly better than my skar 6.5s I have in my other vehicle and they are louder for basically the same price. Good budget speaker.

These are awesome!

Great sounding speakers

I installed these in my 2012 Hyundai accent and they're phenomenal the sound is loud and crisp no distortion and easy install and fit like OEM. MY Radio only goes to 40 but damn these are loud. All hardware is included including a cover which I didn't use but for the people that do wanna it's included the packaging was good over all very satisfied

Great sound and clarity!

The power out of these is great considering the price and how little watts they need to get them moving, i hooked these up straight to a head unit set up inside my house to test them out and they’re extremely solid, they have enough bass in an open space, once put in a box they sound even better and clearer!

The connections these have makes it so you dont have to splice anything or add extra connections, all you have to do is hook up your cables straight to the connections by pressing them up and sliding the cable in it really cant get any easier than that.

These definitely function as advertised and would love to set them up on one of my cars to get better sound than the factory paper speakers !

Great coax 6.5

These PRV audio 6.5 coaxial are excellent. I’m very familiar with Car audio and have her tried a variety of 6.5 over the years. I found this set to be very well built with a nice rubber surround and stiff cone. The tinsel leads are well done and without defects. It comes with included plastic grills which I would’ve preferred metal but they seemed just fine. I had the opportunity to compare this to two different recoil 6.5 as as well as a seven tour 6.5. In terms of sound quality the PRV audio has all of these beat. I do love the recoils and I think they represent a great value in the marketplace. The PRV for a little bit more money is definitely a better speaker. The push button terminals on the back are nice quality and definitely helped to set this apart from the competition. These also were pretty heavy for a set of 6.5 weighing and just at about 3 pounds per speaker. They have a nice build quality and sound excellent and I do believe they will hold up to their rated wattage rating. I can recommend these. In terms of sound quality they have a very good base response. Especially for a 6.5. The mids and highs sound very good considering it’s a coax. The highs sound good without being tinny or harsh. Mid range was quite good and you won’t struggle to hear any vocals I think paired up with the right amp and crossover settings. These will make for an excellent, clear sounding 6.5.
