Could be in better condition but still usable
It's ok. It's worn around the edges and it had some marks and some glitter on it so I had to wipe it with sanitizing wipes but otherwise it's fine.

What’s supposed to be in good condition but there’s black marks over the front of the book and the first two pages are ripped. Whatever

My toddler really likes this story. He loves to sing the words and talk about the color the dots have become on each page.

I loved Dr. Seuss growing up and now I get to read it to my little one. It is a sturdy book.

Love this book and all the wonderful rhyming in it. It is excellent for kids. BUT ..... This would be found on the right side under the "cat in the hat" image. This is a gift and we are very disappointed that the 60 year anniversary image is not on the book. (See attached photo). 60 years of "Put me in the Zoo," is a huge celebration and should not be ignored if you are buying a brand new book.
Again this book itself is wonderful!! My husband loves it and can recite pretty much the whole thing and our kids are grown up.

Bought this for my adult daughter to read to her cat that has spots. I even got a thank you picture! Every kid needs to read this fun book.

I ordered this book because it was described and pictured as the 60th Anniversary Edition. I wanted the 60th for a keepsake for a new baby, but that is not what I received!

Small and perfect for car rides or quick night time book! My daughter loves this! She is 3!

I first saw this book at my friend’s house and read it to my baby. We both loved it — he smiled nonstop, and it made me so happy! I ordered the book right away. However, what I received was a bit gross. There were these black sticky/gooey stuff on the book. Not sure what it was, but had to return the item.

Love this book! Just like I remember it from when I was a kid! My girls love it for bedtime & so do I cuz it’s short. Lots of sight words & colors for them also!

When invited to a baby shower, bring gifts and relive your childhood at the same time by including books.
I remember loving this book as a child! So of course I needed to read it again as soon as it arrived.
The colors and drawings are fairly basic - the book was written in the '60's and it shows in the illustrations. Some parts are bright solid colors while others look like colored pencil over textures to achieve a pebbled look. The lead character - never given a name or animal type - is on a mission to find a useful job for his talents, which he feels is at the zoo. When the zoo disagrees and kicks him out, he shows off his skills to his two friends, a boy and a girl who help guide him to a better place. (This isn't a euphemism for him dying, I mean a more fitting career choice.)
This book is fun for kids because it shows colors, counting, in, out, sizes, socks (I love the socks, no clue why) and being able to communicate with friends. It shows that it's ok to change what you want to do or be when you grow up, and perhaps what you think you want isn't what's right for you.

I wanted to like this book but it's long and boring.
The pictures are nice. The book itself is of high quality. The story is lame.
A big critter wants to live at the zoo but the zoo keepers say no so big critter talks to a couple of kids for, seriously, 50 pages about why he'd be so great for the zoo. He's so great because he can do things with his spots. Change their color, size, shape, put them on stuff. 50 pages of spots. The kids tell him to join the circus because he does great tricks so he joins the circus. The end.

I am reviewing the full hardcover version of this book.
This story is cute, and my two year old daughter enjoys it, however, the colors are incorrect on two different pages. The "violet" spots are dark navy blue, and the "orange" spots are red. When I read it to her I switch the words, because I don't want to teach her incorrect colors. Perhaps this issue is specific to the printing, but it seems like a foolish error that should not have happened.
I'm going to write the correct colors with a sharpie onto the pages to fix the issue.
