This is what the package looked like, when it arrived.

Damaged

My chair arrived today and while I assume the chair will still work it arrived damaged. The backrest is why I bought this chair and the cushion is smooshed. The interior box was damaged and the pieces were definitely bouncing around. I’m likely going to return this. Photos provided.

i really want to luv it …BUT

There were no “real” instructions outside of a picture to go by…. i’m a woman that knows nothing about tools… so i dont have tools laying around …. chair came with no tools and the back is wiggly. we used all the screws and nuts but chair won’t secure tightly…. otherwise it “seems” sturdy… only time will tell !!

Needs better engineering

Purpose

I purchased this chair to allow for the practicing of flute playing and performing for our kiddo.

Likes

Material frame was sturdy. Nice rich black color

Dislikes

Seat cushion: has ripples in it per the covering for the pad isn’t a good fit

Back support: The support continues to be loose because the bolt to fasten it to the frame does not lock it into place

Exposed bolt edges: once the product is assembled, there are a couple of exposed screw bolts, not ideal for design and can scrape the musician depending on how they play

Seat position: once the seat cushion is installed, it’s not set to 90 degree angle. It tilts slightly downward , not ideal for a performance chair (or any chair)

Conclusion: I had high hopes based on the product pictures and reviews, but the poor engineering really turned this product that should have been an awesome one into something else entirely.

Great for small spaces

I was looking for a chair that would fit in the VERY limited space and ordered this one. It works and firs perfectly!

The footprint is only about 14 square inches

It's sturdy and very comfortable. I'm able to sit for hours to play again!

Seat is not flat and can’t adjust

Good seat generally. The biggest problem so far is that I can’t get the seat to sit flat. The directions are incomplete, so it’s possible, unlikely, I put it together wrong. The height adjustment is good but the back rest is not great. Those knobs that make it look really adjustable? They seem to be more about flipping them up for storage than seati g adjustments.

Shipping was super fast but damaged

Shipping was super fast but the seat came damaged (punctured) so needed to send back. Not sure if I would have kept because hubby is not a small man and it seemed a bit flimsy. For a child or smaller person it would be great

Product arrived damaged!!

When the chair arrived the box looked like it was beaten. When the chair was assembled by a friend of my mine he noticed the rip in the chair. Looks like it was make with a box cutter.

Garbage broke!

Weld failed at base of unit within a few months (I’m 5’7 and 175# btw...). Support was worthless - suggested I take it to a local fabrication shop for repair. Good idea Pyle - I’ll spend $200 having this POS repaired... suuure. never again. Pyle is horrible.

Great musician seat with back support

I play keyboard and was looking for a chair/bench to use which had back support. Since I am under 5' (4'10") it was difficult to find one which I could adjust to fit my height. This chair is easily put together and I've been able to adjust it so that I can still reach the floor to use my sustain pedal.

Pro - can be adjusted, good seat padding, good back support, easy assembly, fold almost flat

Cons - A bit heavy but that's what makes it sturdy, the back bar is a bit uncomfortable but with a small cushion that was corrected.

I'll have to see how this holds up overtime. My overall recommendation is that it is worth the money and fits my needs.

Seat collapsed...will return this.

Generally this was a good idea. As a guitar player the foot support does not project enough. The back rest is too far forward. But the worst part is that the seat collapsed the second time I used it. The threaded bolt used to be ace against the main frame literally broke...sheared off at one end and down I went. I am so glad I was not holding my very expensive Kirk Sand Guitar when that happened!

Timely but will not buy again!

It arrived with holes in the upholstery and it’s poorly fitted. Looks almost lopsided. Otherwise it appears sturdy! The instructions are horrible and very difficult for a young musician to follow.

Might be a good chair... but broke in first ten minutes... no customer support. Still waiting

Defective part in this. Bolt broke in first ten minutes. Two weeks later, Pyle has done nothing. All I wanted was a replacement bolt. That's that short version.

Here's the longer version: If you're like me, you tend to disregard the best and worst reviews, and focus on the ones in between. When you see somebody really really hot under the collar write a one-star review, you (I) tend to discount it to an extent, because maybe that person is just an unreasonable, angry person and isn't being fair. So, perhaps you'll discount this review a bit. I guess I wouldn't blame you if you did, but read on, and you may understand.

I am basically a fair, reasonable and patient person. That's why, when, in the first ten minutes, before I could even use the performer chair at home or at a gig, a bolt that is apparently crucial and which seems to bear more stress on it that it can bare under some circumstances due to, I suppose, an engineering design flaw, when it broke, I was not alarmed. I just called Pyle and let them know I needed a replacement bolt. Two weeks later, I have nothing except this broken unusable chair.

I have contacted THEM several times, and have gotten email replies (but no emails initiated on their own about what they're doing) saying that the customer support guy would contact the warehouse guy and someone would contact me about how I'd be receiving the part. Nothing. I understand that things can happen and occasionally a defective part goes out the door. I don't expect perfection. But, I DO expect a company to stand behind their product and take care a of a very reasonable customer request, for a replacement part that can't have cont more than 50 cents to a dollar. I am very disappointed in Pyle.

It might be a decent chair-- I cant know because I've never been able to use it. I do know it's large, heavy, not really as portable as you'd expect, does not fold all the way down so it actually takes up a large amount of room in the car or wherever you choose to keep t when "folded down". But, I'd give it a chance. Except that PYLE has essentially just blown me of as far as I can see.

Yes, I guess I could have just immediately repackaged it and sent it back, but I thought-- that's a lot of effort-- how about they just send me the replacement bolt? Bad idea. While they are good about replying to emails and in the replies promising they'll do something, they are bad at actually doing something. SO, I guess after waiting this whole time I will probably end up having to do exactly that, since I am not optimistic at this point that anything will change. I would consider revising this review, if they were to decide that, while they are not worried about the customer's experience much, they do value their online reputation and respond to my complaints here in public. Hoping for the best here, but expecting the worst-- that is, more of what I've gotten so far. As I said, maybe it's a good chair when not breaking immediately. It looked good online. I'd like to find out, but they aren't letting me. If you have one and like it, great. If you're considering buying one, understand you are rolling the dice. Maybe you win, maybe you lose. Good luck.

Poor design - impossible to attach seat to frame

I am returning this chair.

Here are the issues:

1. in the video above I try to show the misalignment when trying to attach the seat to the frame. The square tube hole (shown in the picture from the vendor) can not be aligned such that the bolt can go through the tube and the frame. For this reason I will be return the stool. Perhaps the seat bolt holes were not drilled correctly.

2. The seat back is wobbly even when the bolt is fully tightened. This could be fixed with a rubber pad between the main frame and the seat frame.

3. I do not mind the backing material when used under the seat but on the seat back it looks bad.

I stopped assembly after failing to fit the seat to the frame so I can't tell you about the foot rests which are connected to the frame in the same manner as the seat.

Poorly packaged

Box was totally destroyed. Item was scratched and missing parts. I was under the impression that the item was new.

Very nice music chair.

Was skeptical after reading previous reviews. Very happy with this chair. To be used for saxophone playing. Very easy to assemble as most is already put together. The backing of the backrest and seat isn't the greatest, but will do. The backrest does clank, but a trip to the hardware store and pick up those cork round pads for cabinets, problem solved. This chair is comfortable to me and sturdy enough. I gambled and won with this chair.

Unscrupulous, disreputable company

Over many years, this is not the first time I have come across a few companies that have little regard for the consumer.

The unit came damaged, a 6 inch rip in the seam of the head rest, in an undamaged box.

It definitely had been used and returned before, indicated by; severe paint chafing around a mounting hole, one screw spacer missing, and partial assembly already completed which is not indicated in the accompanying diagram.

I do believe that this unit was returned and not inspected by the company and was simply relabeled, trying to "sell it off" to someone who probably would not return it.

I am disabled and cannot tolerate companies such as this.

I am returning it ASAP.

HEAVY, quality, comfortable, stationary Musician Stool that arrived in horrible condition

This is a VERY LARGE CHAIR and not portable. Other websites had the weight listed as 47lbs which I thought was still

on the light side.

The Pyle Muscians Stool was very heavy duty, well made and very comfortable.

If you were looking for something portable this is not what I would recommend. However if you were

looking for something that was stationary this would be a good option.

It's a shame that the seller sent this to me in such dire condition.

This looked to have been returned several times and the seller just kept resending it out as a new product.

I would recommend this product as a stationary Musicians Stool. I would not recommend the seller.

Definitely would not buy from this seller again.

Comfortable

Perfect for the need, although it could fold better. There were two or three puncture holes in the back rest but that is not the fault of the seller, seems to have been damaged in shipment.
