Returned the first one because the left side of the cassette door wouldn’t close all the way. The second one came exactly the same way. The recording feedback is noisy and muffled and the rewind function takes forever. My last try at recording and it ate my tape. Not a good quality product.

Absolute Trash. Fails on all levels.
Pure trash. I wanted to love this SO MUCH. It has all of the features on paper, but the sound quality is bad in every way.
Terrible sound from speaker, Bluetooth AND headphones. Just so much hiss and squealing. Unusable. Sending it back.

Is just OK.
Sound is iffy, depending on the volume. It’ll be complete static once i go close to the lower setting. Quality in general is pretty mediocre at best. Does what it is says and is a good size. I wouldn’t spend the amount I did on it again though.

Product itself is good. Quality control is not.
TL;DR: product itself is good. Quality control is not.
Received a total of 8 units after 2 return transactions. Defect rate of 25%.
The product themselves work as intended. Cool retro vibe. Bought them for a cool bridal party wedding proposal idea.

Cool Cheap Retro Item with a New Twist
This is a cool cheap item. The packaging was damaged. Nonetheless I kept it because it was so amazing. Looks and feels exactly like similar items sold in the 70s. It does everything they did and more. Imagine the unit acting like a blue tooth speaker. It will pair seamlessly with your iPhone and when you play songs on your phone they will play through the cassette recorder’s speaker. If you now engage the record mechanism with a tape in it: voila you are making a tape of what’s playing in your iPhone! You can also control forward, back and pause of your iPhone with tiny buttons on the unit. Just like a Bluetooth speaker. You can also play FM radio and record that. Who the heck listens to radio anymore? Regardless the FM radio gets amazingly good reception! No way of telling which station you are listening to. Allows an external mic 🎤 or a line in from your stereo. I would not hesitate to buy this just for fun. I’ll be interested to hear the quality of a tape made from Blue Tooth, and then played into a stereo through the line out. Will it be high fidelity? Will it have the tin AM radio type sound?: I do not know! Will be fun to play with. In any case buy without hesitation, and then get some blank tapes and 4 C cell batteries while you are at it. One thing it does not do is allow you to listen to it with a set of blue tooth headphones. You would have to use wired ones through the line out. How 70s! Have a blast!

Already opened and completely broken
Box was clearly used and re-taped and beat up. Tape recorder does not function and some buttons barely move. Rip off. And it took weeks to ship 👎🏻

Great!
The cassette recorder functions excellently, with the FM radio and cassette deck working fine. The buttons also were easy to press and the stop/eject clears it. It has a great design and a microphone with pretty fine quality, overall this is just what I wanted! Also, make sure you know that the power light only turns on when you press play. Additionally, player works fine with Maxell 90 minute tapes.

It does everything but produce useable tapes.
Disappointing is the only word that fits. The tape unit has everything a user might want: USB, Bluetooth, internal mic, even a decent sounding FM radio receiver. The only thing missing is the ability to record tapes that are useable.
With Bluetooth connected and active but idle so far as sending data, there is not a sound coming from the built in speaker. And given that USB is digital, there should be none. But, set the unit to record that “silence” and then play it back, and you get far too much white noise. Record music and the level of background noise is high enough to make the tape unusable.
Complicating it further, though the computer’s sound volume is set to 75% of maximum, the volume of what’s recorded, when played in my car’s system is significantly quieter than it is when switched to the radio, or disk player (a JBL speaker system in an older Toyota Avalon). That is not true when playing a tape created on some other system.
In fact, with some of the tapes I recorded you can hear speech in the background that obviously is bleed-over from the unit’s FM system, which was been switched off when the recording was made. And, in the background of a tape that recorded only silence is a rhythmic thud.
And if that weren’t enough, the unit ate two of my tapes, which were pulled behind the transport drive and crumpled.
It’s a nice unit, and I want to like it. But somewhere in the chain, someone screwed up.

POWER LIGHT WILL NOT BE LIT IN TAPE MODE UNTIL YOU PRESS RECORD/PLAY
POWER LIGHT WILL NOT BE LIT IN TAPE MODE UNTIL YOU PRESS RECORD/PLAY, etc. Recording voice? Slide button on side to 'Tape', press 'Rec/Play', speak, 'Rew' and 'Play'. I almost gave up and returned it-- so glad I didn't. AWESOME SOUND QUALITY AND OVERALL PRODUCT! My mom bought it for my son and he's recording stories on it. He loves it! Retro goodness. 😊❤️

Works as expected
This is a decent, portable tape recorder with microphone. The playback speaker is a little tiny but after years of digital playback sounds you get a little choosy. The control buttons are made of very flimsy plastic not what I would expect. My memory tells me that similar items purchased during the 70s had a lot sturdier plastic buttons. This tape deck is very nice for the price.

Power adapter bending gradually gets worse
About 6 or 9 months after I bought it, the wire connector didn’t work, and the only way to get it running was to bend it. But it broke the whole adapter/connector. Also, the batteries don’t work for me, but I think it’s only because they aren’t alkaline.

Great Cassette Recorder/Player!
It's actually really good! It features a good amount of stuff. The bluetooth works nicely too. The overall sound quality is nice. Additionally, it's quite rigid, and it is overall very good for the money.

Honestly not as bad as some may say
I've been using this thing for awhile now and my only gripe would be that it plays a little faster than usual, but I've used it for hours and hours on a road trip and it didn't eat any of my newer or older tapes, plus the playing speed begins to normalize as the c batteries begin to go flat. Don't expect for this to play normally using the power adapter though, that one will run it faster no matter what

Its what you get for the price
For about 35 dollars its what you'd expect for the quality. As you can hear the sound isn't exactly top tier but its acceptable. As someone trying to get into cassette tapes this retro shoe box recorder is something I would recommend for beginners before buying a real vintage recorder or a cassette deck

What a piece of junk!
The universe tried to do me a favor by losing the first order. I just had to submit a replacement order. The "Stop/Eject" acts like the "Play" button and to eject a tape you have to press the "Play" and "Rec" buttons at the same time. Extremely disappointing.

It works fine.
It does its job, and it does it well. Haven't tested out the USB functionality yet, but I don't think I'll be using it much anyways. It plays tapes well, It records tapes well, and while the internal microphone isn't the best thing in the world, you can understand speech in it Just fine, the compacts cassetes original functionality.
