Radioddity stands by their product in my previous review. I posted that they were a bad company and their product was not good but at the following their instructions and returning the radio back to them, they sent me a brand new one so Iβll now change it because they stood by their customer overall the DB 25G is a decent GMRS radio but I will keep the video so customers or know what to do when they see this problem

I took a chance and bought it on sale. None of the PC software works with it right, it errors out when downloading the radio to the software (both chirp and radioddity software.)So I just manually program it, right? Nope, when you set the plus or minus offset in VFO mode, then save it to a channel it wont save the offeset setting to memory and defaults to a 000.000 offest. Making stored memory channels simplex only. If I leave it in VFO mode and manually set the channel, tone and offset it will work but as soon as you power it down thats all gone and you have to re-program it every time. Buggy software all around. Im going to return it and buy something else.

Great little radio. I donβt know much about GMRS radios and installs and what not. With a shade tree install 25 watt to 25 watt radio 4-7 miles range depending on terrain and 25 watt to 5 watt portable 1-2 miles range depending range. The programming and switching to different functions isnβt straight forward but basic functions are easy

DB25 G shuts off when trying to program via laptop. I attempted it multiple times, twice indoors powered by power supplies (fail). Twice in my vehicle with it on accessory mode and also while my car was running (fail).
I hope itβs just this unit, Iβll be replacing it.
Stand by for updateβ¦.

Bought this on a recommendation from another GMRS Operator. Paired it with a Midland ghost antenna on a mag mount atop my ram and it GETS out. Super small profile.. knobs are a bit.. Mickey Mouse - kinda feel like you're walking the knob off but youre not. aside from that.. power's good. Feels great in the hand. I did have a driver issue with programming it with windows 11.. found a better driver and was in good shape!

I installed this radio in my travel trailer for use as a base station for camp comms while out of cell range.

I really like the radio. The only negative I have about it is that it only outputs 18 watts @ 13.8volts from the car cigarette lighter. Wish it were closer to the advertised 25 watts.
I have it paired with a midland ghost antenna. It works out of the box but for customization you will want to use the provided programming cable. Privacy codes are turned off as it arrives which is good as some brands turn the on by default and people canβt figure out why they canβt hear anyone.
Overall - good radio for the 86$ I bought for at Black Friday prices. No antenna included by the way.

Installed it a week or so ago, today i decided to turn it on and try it out. It Worked for 6 seconds then went to faint grey screen flashing! tried a different power source but got the same result. Not too happy about this, maybe I should've went with another company. I know what the manufacturer is going to say about this review, oh you should have contacted us instead of posting bad review, well that's not how reviews work. I should be able to buy a product and it work( I understand there are lemons, but we are talkin about cheap products made in china). If a company is worried about reviews maybe they should invest in a qc department. I did install the radio according to instructions it's hooked to a brand new optima battery, plenty of air flow, and a good quality antenna so there shouldn't be an issue

Radioddity puts out some really decent products...... Unfortunately, this ainβt one of them.
I have no doubts that this radio can produce around the specified wattage it claims.. But in my humble opinion, here lies the problem.
This is a Dualband radio that has been programmed for GMRS Transmission only! And most dualbanders the VHF band is the basis they advertise the output power on. Say, 50 watts VHF/ 40 watts UHF. Being GMRS is UHF, and VHF is locked out, we canβt test that theory... So letβs not even go there!
I have several of these Chinese radios of different manufacturers, but in Reality, there all basically the same.... All of them are extremely broad banded, this particular rig transmits from 400 to 480 Mhz. Before the Radioddity reprogram. Thatβs 80 Mhz. WIDE! An 80 Mhz. Spread on transmission is a lot to ask of a cheap radio! So they all have a β Sweet Spotβ on which they preform there best. The higher or lower they go from that sweet spot...... The less power they want to put out.... Iβd say the DB- 25 has a UHF sweet spot between 430 to 450 Mhz. Now GMRS being in the 462 to 467 Mhz. Region, it falls out of that sweet spot and the RF power is dropped off!
I have seen this effect on every one of my cheaper Chinese radios. Extremely broad in frequency, but you pay the price if your particular frequencies are not in that so called Sweet Spot.

So, if you have windows 11 you won't be able to download the software, it doesn't support it but if you have windows 10,9,8 it will be fine. I had to use a different computer with 10 on it to program it. Other then that small thing it's been working good. I'm completely new to all this and I have been able to use this pretty well, obviously looking at the manual and videos helped but none the less I have been able to hit repeaters that's about 40 miles away using a tram 5.5dbl 32inch antenna and I live in a forest with hills and I'm not at a very high point in my area. I like this mobile unit for my first one. It's been easyish to learn and super easy to hook up. I'd say it's definitely worth the money.

This is a awesome little radio! Got it for the family so we can all use the same license ! We really like the ease of use switching it from car to car and the rv. Being a ham I like being able to monitor vhf and uhf with out turning on another radio. Iβm currently using the same mag mount with no issues. I also like being able to switch channels on the microphone. I donβt have it mounted yet as Iβm using it all over the neighborhood. My next test will be using it with the family hand talkieβs! For the money this is a great little radio ! This is my second Radioddity radio , and I would buy from them again!

I'm really enjoying this tiny mobile unit! I'm using it as a base, feeding a 6db vertical.
I had a bit of trouble with getting a driver for windows 11 for the programming cable.
I messaged Radioddity and received a prompt reply from Nora who pointed me to the correct driver.

The knobs are essentially like those triangle erasers you put on the end of your pencil. The underlying control seems stout and quality, and has a flat surface for a set screw on a real knob... why didn't they put a real knob for controls?

Mounted in my Tuff Box on my FJ40. Got about 16.5 watts on ch 16 with a 1.27 SWR. I wanted to run an external speaker but was having trouble with mini plug on the back of the unit. The plug receptacle is for a TRRS mini plug for a microphone/headset combination. I bought a TRRS repair plug with a pig tail and just wired up two of the leads. Worked like a champ. Haven't tested the radio for range yet, or programmed it with the included cable.
