Not for new users. If you’re experienced with ham radios this is a wonderful radio!
It’s an awesome radio! There is a learning curve to it, but once you get it figured out, it’s not bad at all. I’ve got it all figured out, and I never looked in the instruction manual. Don’t be afraid to play with it. If you really screw it up, you can always reset it. How I learned is by pushing buttons and seeing what each button does. You can update the firmware, but mine came with version 19 and 19 doesn’t have much problems so I left it there. You can get programming through the official website of the radio, Radtel.com . This is an amateur radio and requires a license to transmit, but no license is needed just to listen! It’s a fun radio!
