⚠️ Bugged Wireless Dongle - unacceptable for $250

🚨 The Main Issue:

Whenever the headset sits idle for a while, the 2.4Ghz audio output gets completely corrupted. If you try to play any video or music after it's been sitting, the sound turns into a slowed-down, choppy, robotic mess.

🔌 The Annoying Fix:

Restarting the headset itself does nothing. The only way to fix that works _SOMETIMES_ is to physically unplug the wireless USB-C dongle and plug it back in. The moment you reseat the receiver, the audio goes right back to normal until you leave it idle again.

💻 Testing Setup:

MacBook Pro. The exact same glitch happens whether the dongle is plugged directly into the laptop or indirectly through a USB hub. It makes no difference.

Verdict:

For a $250 Razer flagship product, I shouldn't have to constantly unplug and replug the receiver just to get normal audio. I'm ordering a replacement to see if this is just a defective unit

UPDATE: After updating firmware I don't notice distortion after idle anymore, but I noticed during phone calls or zoom calls - the headset just gets totally muted (cannot hear anything and the other person cannot hear me), while the LED is on - the workaround is to unplug the dongle and plug it in again. Returning it

Final boss of gaming headsets

I bought this because I already had the Xbox Wireless Headset and was looking to upgrade. This headset checks all the boxes. All-day battery life. Fantastic sound quality. Awesome noise cancelling. Removable mic. Simultaneous connection with bluetooth. Volume dial. Also, it works with literally everything you could think of, and it says that right on the box. I only use an xbox, but I could see this be very appealing to someone who uses multiple platforms for gaming. To me, it seems like the final form of headsets. Universal compatibility. Top-notch quality. Razer knocked it out of the park.

Dongle stops working asap

This product was great…. For all of 2 weeks before the dongle broke and now it won’t connect to my Xbox and the Razer support team cancelled my RMA after I had already printed and shipped it. Don’t buy this trash product unless you’re okay with gambling that you don’t get a faulty device

Material es un poco sosos

Mi única queja o inconformidad es un poco con los materiales que está construido da un poco la sensación de desechables y no algo premium para su valor el sonido brutal. THX espacial nítido, cómodos para sesiones largas de uso

No support available

Headset works decently, but support is terrible.

I lost the dongle and it's not available as a replacement, rendering the headset next to useless. Much happier with HyperX brand support.

Good sound quality. Easy to use.

I just started using it this morning and I like them a lot so far. Really easy to use. Make sure the dongle is switched to XBOX, plug the dongle into a USB port on the XBOX and turn on. It was that simple.

Ultra Comfortable; great sound quality; Love the Bluetooth connection!

The BlackShark V3 Pro Headset is incredible! This does not just come from me, but it comes from a 12-year-old gamer who LOVES them.'

The overall assessment is that they are ultra-comfortable to wear for long periods of time. In fact, they are so comfortable that he plays his music through this headset and falls asleep with them on, they are that comfortable. Sound quality is impressive - both with music and gaming.

Connectivity is easy - there is an XBox connection and a Bluetooth connection, which makes this headset incredibly versatile. It is easy to use, to adjust, and to charge.

While these might seem expensive, for those who are truly into gaming, the price point makes sense.

These are a big hit with the 12-year-old who knows great quality and terrible quality gaming headsets.

Top quality with the cost of being heavy

This is one of the most perfect and excellent sounding devices I have used by far. It came with everything I need. I use the adapter in my console since that is my primary gaming method of choice, and for my PC I use bluetooth. It works well switching between the two communication methods, zero flaws that I could see. The housing of the headset is metal, and the buttons and dials are all metal. It feels very premium. The microphone detaches, which is exceptionally good to see. Playing a few games on my console went quite well. The sound was really good (I am an average user), and I couldn't tell that anything sounded bad. The cushions are super soft, and do allow some minor airflow to your ears. The only downside is that this is a heavy headset. I was not used to it. I had to try and up the height on top of my head so it wasn't dragging on my ears. It took some adjusting, but I think I found my happy place. If you can deal with the weight, this is definitely one of the best headsets you can buy.

The best wireless headset for gamers

I am a big fan of Razer's gaming products and have been using their keyboards, mice, and headsets for many years. I was excited to try their BlackShark V3 Pro headset as my current headset is showing its age, and since it is not wireless, it clutters up my computer desk.

I have been using the Razer BlackSharp V3 Pro for a month now, and it has far surpassed my expectations. It is by far the best gaming headset I have ever owned. What really sets it apart for other wireless headsets is the incredibly low latency of only 10ms. This is really important for competitive FPS gaming where you need to hear every footstep and react immediately. Higher latency can really mess up my responses, so this is absolutely critical for competitive gameplay.

The Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) is another huge plus as it drowns out ambient noise and helps you hyper focus on the game you are playing. Again, this is really important to me when I am playing high speed games competitively. The ANC works really well for noise sources like air conditioners, fans, air purifiers, etc. It doesn't work for loud bangs etc., but that is to be expected.

The 50mm drivers in these headphones are exceptional, and they remind me of some of the audiophile level headphones I own. The frequency response is incredible, and the sensitivity is on par with much more expensive headphones.

This headset allows you to connect to your PC via 2.4 GHz radio, Bluetooth, or via a USB connection. I highly recommend using the 2.4 GHz mode for the lowest wireless latency.

Overall, this is one of the best wireless gaming headsets you can buy, and it is priced really well for all the features it offers.

Long Lasting Wireless Gaming Headphones

Headphones come packaged in a premium green and black color box. Inside there are a few accessories: USB-C to USB-A cable, USB-C to 3.5 mm audio jack, wireless adapter, detachable mic, instruction manual, and Razer brand stickers.

Headphone looks and feels premium, the build material is a premium smooth plastic, with metal hinges, with the head band inner cushion being a memory foam material, with the outer material a leather like material. Adjusting the headphone is relatively easy, you pull down on the ear cups to extend the length. The headphones stay firmly once placed, but there is a bit of a pressure sensation wearing the headphones.

The headphone can connect via 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth, or wired, and can connect to the XBOX system or PC. The headphones also have noise cancelation, which you can cycle ANC on, off, or ambient mode. The noise cancellation is pretty decent; it was able to filter the surrounding to remove distractions. There is a game/chat balance wheel on the right cup, which allows you to control between the two. I connected the headphones to my PC through the wireless adapter, and it connected right away with no issues. The Razer software did auto initiate, but I did not install the software. I prefer to use these headphones as plug and play. The software does allow for more customization with the headphones if you do prefer to use it.

The audio sounds clear and loud, the clarity and sound quality is pretty good. Listening to music, there is a good amount of depth and levels. For gaming, I can make out locational and pinpoint sounds. The microphone is okay, it is fine for a headphone attachment, sound quality for this mic comes off a bit flat. The microphone is fine for game chats. The battery life on these headphones is pretty good, I haven’t had the need to charge these that often and I been using them heavily on a frequent basis.

Overall, these are good wireless headphones. I like sound quality and build, with four different modes of connections. I can put away the microphone if I don’t plan to use it, which is much appreciated. The batteries are pretty great too; I don’t have to worry about constantly keeping the charge monitored.

Perfect headset for Xbox!

I’ve been really impressed with the Razer BlackShark V3 Pro Wireless on Xbox. The sound quality is excellent right out of the box, with clear audio and strong immersion, and setup was quick. It’s been completely reliable so far and works flawlessly across my gaming sessions. The wireless performance and overall comfort are great. My only minor gripe is cosmetic as I personally wish it came in a black color option. But performance wise, it’s been fantastic.

Premium sound, Amazing Customization Options! only a couple of small negatives

This headset is very much a premium product, the unboxing experience and sound quality did not disappoint, I've never used the Razer brand before, but I will definitely be considering their gear again in the future.

These gaming headphones really surprised me in a good way. I wasn't expecting the sound to be great seeing as they are wireless and that typically means the source audio is compressed before transmission, but that doesn't seem to be the case with these. These feel solid and well made right out of the box. They’re super comfortable, even after wearing them for a couple of hours. The ear pads are a soft fabric and do a good job of isolating outside sounds without being too tight on your head, so much so that if you are gaming you will definitely want to turn on the sidetone so you can hear yourself talk. The sidetone did feel a bit on the Bass heavy side, and I didn't see away to adjust the tonal quality of it which is a pity, as I prefer a more natural sounding sidetone. I love the big volume knob on the side, it makes it easy to find and use without fumbling around.

The accompanying app works well and is easy to navigate, but the Synapse PC version of the app is like the phone app but on steroids! there are so many options you can choose from, including gaming sound profiles for specific games which really helps. You can also do a manual EQ to get the sound you desire. The sound is great for games and movies, with strong bass and clear details so you can hear where things are coming from. They get loud without sounding distorted, and the noise canceling actually works, which helps block out background noise when you’re trying to focus. There’s also a mode that lets outside sound in, which is handy when someone is talking to you in the room. The only downside with the app is that for whatever reason, even when following the directions I could not get the chat/game mix to work with my games. It just acted like another volume control, but didn't balance the chat with the game audio.

The microphone is a big highlight. Voices come through clean and clear, however if you use the included mic muff my friends said I sounded like I was congested, it does a good job cutting out keyboard noise and wind if you are near a fan though, but the Active Noise Cancelling seems to do a better job at it than the mic muff. Battery life is impressive too. I haven't had to charge them often, and you can still use them while they’re plugged in. They also work with different devices like PCs, consoles, and phones, which is really convenient. The side caps are removable, so I'm assuming Razor make ones with different patterns or colors so you can switch them out. It also looks like the battery pack can be replaced with the aid of a screwdriver.

Overall, these feel like a high-end headset that’s comfortable, versatile, and reliable. They’re not cheap at 249.99, which is the price at time of my review, but you can tell the quality is there, and they’re a great choice if you spend a lot of time gaming or on the computer. I really like the White aesthetic however the buttons are white as is the text that's on them, which makes them really hard to read and identify, they should consider using Green or at least Gray to make the wording stand out more. These would make an awesome gift if you have a video gamer in your family, I highly recommend, these.

Incredible headphones

These are the best headphones I own. I have wired Sony MDR7506 headphones, Soundcore wireless Bluetooth headphones, and several sets of high-end earbuds. These Razer Blackshark headphones sound better than even Sony’s, which is saying something. The things that I feel set the Blackshark apart are the detachable microphone, the 2.4GHz super-low-latency setup with a transmitter/receiver dongle, and support for Bluetooth and wired connections via both USB and 3.5mm aux so that I can plug them into my PS5 DualSense controller. Add to that ANC noise reduction, and these are truly standout headphones. They sound incredible, and they are super comfortable. They look, feel, and sound high-end. I’m delighted with them. They aren’t cheap, but honestly, I think they're worth the premium price.

AmazonReviewer

Really great sounding headset and very comfortable, And really good battery life!

I usually buy non gaming headsets because most of the time they just do not sound as good as the typical stereo 3.5mm headphones, But when I saw these razer blackshark v3 pro which I also did my own research on them first I wanted to see how I like them also.

I really love the design of them with the all white with the black earpads and headrest which gives it a really nice sleek look and the build quality also feels really solid and the plastic does not feel like that cheap plastic feel. They also very comfortable to wear the earpads are nice and soft but has enough firmness to them and the headband uses the same material also, Which I only wear headphones while I am on my pc and I am on it more then 12 plus hours a day gaming and normal pc stuff and I hardly can feel them on and I also fall asleep with them at times at my chair so they indeed very comfortable and durable. I also love the big volume knob on the left side on the ear cup it really comes in handy and very easy to know where it's at.

Sound quality is really good even without synapse running at first which I ran them like that for the first day, But I like using the software with them because it has the audio equalizer which I like using and I can check the battery life and making sure I am getting the full potential out of them. In games and movies they have really good bass and mids and highs and they will go pretty loud also with 0 distortion and THX sounds pretty good also but I like using them with Dolby Atmos, And ANC does work great also and blocks a good amount of noises and it has 4 levels to pick, And it also has a ambient mode on to hear around you more which I do use a good bit to talk with other people when they in the same room.

Microphone quality is probably the best I had on a gaming headset which I tested it myself with monitoring and my voice sounded really clear and and the noise cancellation is really good also, And then I played a game with my cousin and he also said my voice was really clear and he doesn't even hear the typing on my mechanical keyboard as before so I call that a big plus with the mic quality. Battery life is also very good I had them for 15 days now and only charged them up 3 times now so they do live up to the rated 70 hours that is stated and they also charge pretty fast and best part you can still use them when charging. Oh and they do work on ps5 with no issues at all when I tried it.

I have no cons to say about this razer blackshark pro 3 headset, The build I was very surprised about how good it is and they sound really good as I said, So in my opinion they are worth trying them out to see if you like them as I did! So they do get a solid 5 stars from me I really do love them👍

Gran calidad.

If audio had abs…this headset would have an eight pack

Listen… I didn’t buy a headset.

I adopted a weapon of auditory destruction disguised as the Razer BlackShark V3 Pro.

First off, this thing comes with a dongle so powerful I’m convinced it has its own passport. Plug it in and BOOM— Hyperspeed Wireless Gen-2 kicks in and suddenly my audio latency is lower than my self-control during Steam sales. We’re talking as low as 10ms. I blink slower than that.

The 12mm detachable HyperClear full-band mic?

INSANE. My squad said I sound like I’m broadcasting from a NASA command center instead of my couch. It blocks out background noise so well it didn’t even pick up my dog’s chaotic zoomies or my existential sighs.

Then there’s the Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation, which basically said:

“Shhh… focus on the mission, not your neighbor mowing the lawn at 6AM.”

The TriForce bio-cellulose Gen-2 50mm drivers?

Baby, I heard footsteps behind me that weren’t even in the game. The clarity is disrespectful (in a good way).

And let’s talk connectivity.

Four modes. FOUR.

2.4 GHz, Bluetooth, USB, 3.5mm… this headset connects to more devices than I have friends. It even lets me mix two audio sources at once so I can game AND listen to my guilty-pleasure playlist without judgment.

Surround sound?

On Xbox: absolutely elite.

On PC: the upgraded THX Spatial Audio (7.1.4) had me whipping my head around like I owed the virtual world rent.

Oh—and the pro-tuned FPS profiles?

Let’s just say I suddenly started hearing enemies before THEY heard themselves.

Battery life? Long. Like “did I accidentally summon a nuclear reactor?” long.

In conclusion:

If you want a headset that makes you feel like the main character, snipes latency out of existence, and comes with a dongle that could probably run a small country—this is the one. 🎮🔥

Fantastic Wireless Gaming Audio

I grabbed this headset for gaming and it took a minute to figure out the proper connection, but it's rock solid now and works fantastically. It connected to bluetooth quickly and easily, but that wasn't the proper way to connect since I couldn't talk on Discord and hear game sounds at the same time due to limitations with bluetooth. I needed to use the dongle that was provided, which overcomes that limitation and allows both audio streams to work simultaneously without any issues. The sound quality is excellent for pinpointing where enemies are coming from, and the mic clarity has been great for team communication. After a few days of use, this has become my go-to headset for any competitive gaming session. And the noise cancellation is really great too. I am using this on a PC, by the way. Finally, you can even remove the mic (if you want) and just use it for bluetooth audio for your phone or iPad.

Great Sound

This headset is really well-made and works great. They are relatively light and extremely comfortable, even after extended wear. The ear cups adjust nicely and surround the ears without crushing them. They seal great and block exterior noise really well. Albeit, the active noise cancelation mode provides even more quiet. The buttons and knobs have a nice tactical feel and click while providing intuitive and easy access control. The detachable microphone arm connects easily and securely and bends for personal adjustment. The headset's internal battery takes about four (4) hours to fully charge, but lasts a long time. There are several ways to connect to your device, including direct USB cord and wireless options. A 3.5mm analog to USB C cable is also provided. Wirelessly, you can connect to your Xbox via 2.4GHz mode or other compatible devices through Bluetooth. Although the headset is advertised as an Xbox device, it still works really well with so many other devices. There are even apps available for your PC, iPhone, and Android devices that provide additional audio enhancements, customizable EQ, and other fine-tuning. The instruction manual is just okay and could probably be better. Razer decals are also provided. Audio performance is top notch that rivals the highest quality headphones available.

Great sound and comfortable enough to wear for several hours

Opening the box felt surprisingly premium—almost like unboxing a new iPhone. The headset itself has a sturdy build with a clean black-and-blue aesthetic that looks and feels high-quality. The microphone was simple to attach and only fits one way, which takes out any guesswork. I was briefly confused about the instruction manual since it was tucked away a bit too well, but I eventually found it.

Once set up, the big L and R markings inside the ear cups made it effortless to put the headset on correctly. It’s also very easy to adjust for different head sizes. Most importantly, the sound quality is excellent, and the noise-cancelling does a solid job. Overall, a great experience from unboxing to daily use

Flexible connectivity, detachable Mic with noise cancellation and Pro-level sound

Although these are gaming headsets, they can also be used as full featured professional music headphones, just remove the Mic. The Razer BlackShark V3 Pro headset is designed to work with Xbox, PS4\5, Nintendo, PC, and Mac.

They provide huge 50mm drivers for thumping, powerful sound. When connected to a Windows PC your sound experience is upgraded to THX spatial audio with 7.1.4 surround sound.

They feature hybrid active noise cancellation so all you hear is the music and sounds from your game and not the noise outside.

There are 4 ways to connect to these headsets for complete flexibility. There is 2.4 GHz wireless, Bluetooth, USBC direct wired, and 3.5mm audio direct wired

HIgh quality wireless gaming headset!

This is by far one of the best 50mm Driver Wireless Gaming Headset I've ever worn! Low, Mid, and High frequency range sounds cleaner, crisper, delivers good bass. It lasts around 70 hours battery life, regardless volume and content. It's compatible with USB C charging to recharge the battery. Also, compatible with Razer Synapse 4 software to not only update firmware but also have more options such as Game Chat, Mic volume, ANC (Active Noise Cancelation), THX 7.1 Virtual Surround Sound (Windows 11 only), and there are several presets to select whether it's gaming, music, movie, etc. Personally, Stereo is still a good to choice since it sounds much cleaner, balanced bass, delivers more thump feel, and you don't lose all that audio detail. Furthermore, there's no crackling sound thanks to high speed receiver which can delivery very fast latency as low as 10ms. Although I used to own Logitech G Pro X2 Lightspeed Wireless Headset, it suffers horrific audio crackling sound when gaming and listening to the music simultaneously! Yes, it is very expensive headphone to purchase for $250 + sales tax but you pay what you get for high quality 50mm driver headphone including wireless capability, boom mic, high speed wireless receiver, high quality 50mm BTRIFORCE BIO-CELLULOSE Driver that impacts overall sound quality, etc. All in all, I highly recommend this product if you're really serious into gaming but also audiophile too!

great for gaming, ok for most other uses

First and foremost, these are absolutely great for gaming, localizing where a sound is coming from is so much smoother now... but I use these for everything, so have to point out some minor issues.

cons:

Razer provides apps for pc, android, and probably ios. listening to music or podcasts pretty much requires using their app or similar equalization software as the default sound mapping seems optimized for fps games.

The anc is kind of weak, it's not the worst i have heard but i have a cheap pair of headphones with much better noise cancellation.

The earcups only rotate 15 degrres or so in each direction, so they won't lay flat..

pros:

Outside covers are magnetic, no more full disassembly just to replace a battery.

Ear cups are cloth instead of pleather, so no more bits of ultrathin black plastic clinging to you after a gaming session when the cups start to wear out.

Frequency response is pretty good once adjusted, bass is still a bit low, but that's what chair shakers are for.

Relatively lightweight, I have worn them continuously for a few hours and didn't experience the fatigue I have gotten with heavier models.

Voice seems to be good judging by comments I have had from using it as a phone headset and in game chat.

All in all, it's a pretty robust gaming headset with more pros than cons.

Immersive Gaming Made Better with ANC and Spatial Audio

This top-of-the-line wireless gaming headset delivers on all fronts—providing clear communication, excellent sound quality, and premium features that create a truly immersive gaming experience.

As with most Razer products, the packaging is clean and thoughtful, and the included braided cables are a nice touch for both charging and wired connections. For wireless, you can choose between Bluetooth or Razer’s HyperSpeed Wireless Gen-2, which uses a small USB-C dongle that offers lower latency than traditional 2.4 GHz dongles. The headset also has multiple onboard controls, including separate volume wheels for the headset and connected device, a power button that doubles as play/pause, and a recessed mute button that’s easy to identify by feel. The mode button lets you switch EQ presets and toggle Bluetooth, though pairing and switching devices can take a moment to get used to. Still, being able to stay connected to two devices simultaneously makes transitions seamless.

Comfort is another strong point. Despite being heavier than most headsets, the plush headband and ear cushions do an excellent job of distributing weight so it doesn’t feel burdensome. The height adjustment is smooth, with no rigid notches, giving you full customizability that holds in place once worn. The only thing missing is cooling-gel technology—without it, the earcups can get warm during longer sessions, which feels like a feature that should have been included in a headset of this caliber.

The sound quality is superb for a gaming headset. While it doesn’t outperform Sony’s flagship noise-cancelling headphones, it produces a balanced, detailed sound that’s particularly strong in clarity. The highs can occasionally come off a little sharp, but this can be fine-tuned through the onboard presets or Razer Synapse software. Active noise cancellation is another standout feature, elevating it to the ultra-premium category. While not quite at Bose or Sony levels of silence, it does a good job of reducing distractions. THX Spatial Audio, accessible through the software, makes a big difference for immersion—I immediately noticed how much more lifelike and engaging the audio became, to the point where I wouldn’t go back to standard stereo.

The microphone quality is crisp and natural, accurately capturing your voice. With Synapse, you can adjust the mic further, including enabling noise cancellation, which works well. For those with compatible systems, NVIDIA Broadcast is still my top recommendation for noise filtering, but the built-in options are solid.

At $250, this headset sits firmly in the premium tier. While there are cheaper alternatives that include ANC, they don’t match the overall polish, feature set, or battery life this model offers. With up to 70 hours of playtime, you can go nearly a week without recharging. Part of the price reflects the Razer brand, but if you value the full Razer ecosystem and want a feature-rich headset, it’s worth the investment.

Overall, this headset impresses with its combination of comfort, sound quality, ANC, and versatile connectivity. However, to unlock its true potential, you’ll want to install Razer Synapse—it’s what takes the experience from good to great.

Im shook!!!!

I know this is a free review of a free product as I did not purchase this with my own money. However if I had purchased this with my own money, I would not regret it in the slightest. This gaming headset embodies what it means to be a well-rounded piece of equipment for gaming, music, and speaking. First I want to talk about the build quality. The headset is very very comfortable for people that have both small heads and large heads. It is not overly heavy it does not feel like it's going to fall off my head. This headset appears to be very solidly built including using very nice braided cables and an upgraded drivers as well. The microphone is also sturdy and thick with a nice foam cover on top. It does not allow you to take off the ear padding unfortunately but you can easily access the area where the batteries are housed. It includes two cables as well that are braided and very good quality as well as a wireless hub that is very small. As far as the functionality connecting to my computer was an absolute Breeze. It gives you the option to automatically download razor synapse. The app is also very well designed and streamlined and allows you to fully customize your sound profile. Speaking of sound profile, this headset delivers exceptionally. Listening to music on max volume had this thing rumbling with Bass, but not sacrificing on treble. The sound was very clean and crisp but also with ample enough volume that I have not experienced even with my Astro a50s. Comparing this to my $300 Astros, I would take these everyday. I know the price is a little steep compared to some of the other $100 headsets, but I think for the price you get a well-built functioning piece of equipment that should last you long time and it's packed with features. The only gimmicky thing about it would be the active noise cancellation, which is probably about a 30 to 40% Improvement over no active noise cancellation. Otherwise I would highly highly highly recommend this headset and I am probably going to be getting rid of my Astros in favor of this.

Exceptional sound and versatility!

This is the XBOX version as they offer other versions. Main thing is the XBOX adapter you can plug in for that purpose, otherwise you can connect this up to your PC many different ways: Bluetooth, USB C, Dongle (2.4Ghz) or even 3.5mm cable. And even cooler is that you can have two devices connects so you could have your XBox game sounds mixed in with your Discord chatter. And there's a nice wheel on the side that lets you adjust the levels between the two.

If you want the dongle to stay put you'll need your own two sided tape. One of the few smaller complaints I have.

The other is I'm NOT a fan of omnidirectional mics in these gaming headsets, thus picking up sounds that are NOT coming out of your mouth. Since you have a foam cover, you could easily use some electrical tape to cover one side thus cutting down that extra noise.

The ANC (Automatic Noise Cancelling) side of it is not bad. As you maybe or may not know, it's not designed to cancel all noises but does a good job on the ambient noises - as expected.

As mentioned above, you can connect this headset to pretty much anything. I connect it to my phone, as an example.

The headset itself was of solid construction, very high quality workmanship.

The foam pads were very nice and deep so that it covered my large ears fairly well. Thus making long gaming sessions very doable.

Mic plugs in, btw. So if you don't need it for talking, just unplug it. You could then just treat these as any other headphone.

EQ has a ton of presets you can get access to or do your own. ESports folks have even shared theirs. You use the Razer Audio app.

THX Spatial audio with 7.1.4. For pinpoint 3D positional. Works. Footsteps are pretty easy to pick up.

The sound quality is top notch, played a ton of different types of source material and did not find hard any weaknesses.. if there was one, the midrange (voice area) was a bit light.

Controls on the headset will take some getting used to as each of the buttons, other than the power (which has a texture) are all about the same size.

Overall, what you're used to with Razer products. Top Quality, lots of features, solid built, great sound and can hook up to just about anything. Can be used from someone who wants a great product with great sound to if you want to work your way up the ESports path - Pro level.

Amazing for gamers, sound positioning, wireless, powerful software

Well, first of all, the hybrid noise cancellation is real. When I first put them on, in combination with the over ear cushion, it was disorienting how silent everything became. I wasn’t expecting that much noise canceling effect!

There is a lot happening with these headphones it’s hard to put in a review, but I’ll try to hit a few top points:

The THX positioning is interesting. For reference, I would usually use some high quality audiophile headphones I have, and got along fine. But with the Razer headphones, in games, this thx feature adjusts the sound of certain events to give a feeling of “position”. And it does adjust it a lot. So much so it took me a bit to get adjusted to it. The jury is still out how I feel about it. I’ve spent years with my “plain” stereo headphones. But I can confirm that the feature does add something extra for games that support thx.

The construction of the headphones feels high quality. They are wireless, so heavy, but not overly heavy. They feel firm, not flimsy, weak, or fragile. They fit firmly and comfortably on my head. The foam top and ear covers are comfortable and soft.

There is a dongle you connect to the computer (or Xbox) via usb. The headphones connect to the dongle wirelessly.

The software is what makes them more than headphones though. The razer software picks up the headphones and identified them immediately.

It detects games and sets the sounds modes automatically, such setting regular stereo or enabling thx. (In my short initial trials it was hard to tell that it always detected a game was running and switched, so I set it manually to be sure. This could have been user error.)

It has full eq and supports presets. You select to manually enable the thx mode or just stereo.

There are additional enhancements to emphasize voice communication, bass, and so on. Settings for latency.

Really the features the software adds to the headphones could be in its own review. But what hit me most is how well thought out it was and how well it worked. Mostly seamless.

The only the I’ll knock is the sound quality. Compared to high quality “audiophile” headphones. Like, the the kind that are higher ohm and take higher power output to drive sound.. they can’t hit that level. The bass of the razer, while good, was not as clear as my other ones.

It’s not to discourage these. The sound quality of the razer headphones are well beyond what any basic set of headphones can provide. Especially in combination with the eq and noise canceling. But don’t expect them to replace your $150+ high ohm, high quality, audiophile headphones.
