hoping i dont need to force connections

second chance.. I'm a lover of Kraken head phone, I have used them for years. but the last pair i got i have forced use. Had to use a hair tie on the on off speaker switch that also had volume so must be a bad connection. I'm probably screwing myself. but i keep trying cuz i love the product. round 2 fight. only had one fail in 4 buys so that's not bad... right! Right?

Mic

Love it but my mic ripped on day 2 and I’ve been careful with it. Just by moving it ); for $125 thought it would of been better quality

BuzzTV

Very nice for the price

i may be a little stupid i bought this without knowing that they just sold the ear muff parts separate but these are nice headphones for the price. my only complaint is that the earmuffs blew up an spewed the cooling paste everywhere that was not easy to clean. they are comfy.

Jordan

So worth the price

There so worth the price I've had mine for over 2 years and not a single issue so far. They are quite durable and lightweight so your head will not be hurting and it's weird so no annoying Bluetooth stuff.

Years of use and still great

Had this for years and I use it basically everyday. Xbox, pc, ps,,, works great and it super cute. Love the color ofc and the mic is amazing especially with the lack of backgrounds noise.

Baja calidad.

Cute and good quality!

So so cute! I like everything about these. The sound is great and accommodates surround/directional sound. I wouldn't really say they're noise cancelling but they do drown out a lot of the surrounding noise, just not quite everything. The cushions on the ears are nice and big and super squishy and comfy, they go around my ears almost completely instead of resting on them. The head bar is also quite comfy, not quite as soft but definitely softer than some others I've tried. Very adjustable and not slippy so they won't click out of the adjusted height mid game. The retractable adjustable mic is a nice feature that I don't see often. I was worried it would wear down or break a wire or connection with repeated retraction but it seems to be holding up well. The mic quality it pretty good too and my friend can hear me a lot better than with my last headset. It does pick up a lot though so make sure you don't have any fans or anything near by because that will get picked up and transmitted. I especially like that the jack is L shaped and not straight out. It makes it easier to hold the controller in my lap without worrying about breaking/fraying the cord or jack. I also like the braided cord, it's very solid and durable, and the mute button and volume wheel on the cord are easy to use and intuitive. Overall a very good purchase, I would recommend to others (and will probably be purchasing another set for my partner!)

Razer Kraken: Good Enough for Casual Use/Kids, but Not for Audiophiles or People Looking for Quality

▶️ tldr; I bought these the Pink Kraken headphones for my daughter to use with her gaming setup. She liked them and they matched the rest of the pink gaming stuff. They were nice for her to use. I would recommend them for kids and people not real concerned about quality of sound or any discernment for being an audiophile/gamer. They are built well enough to be used as a daily pair of headphones without too many issues. I wouldn't spend a fortune getting Razer products though for reasons stated in my review below.

▶️ Long review:

Drawing on my experience owning a dozen and a half Razer products and being an early adopter of many, including the Razer COVID-19 RGB face mask, I have some concerns that I want to share. Despite the hardware being of "good" quality, I have decided to stop using Razer products due the following... the software is intrusive and bloatware-like, which can slow down my computer's startup times and memory usage. In addition, Razer's software is often CPU & memory-heavy, causing issues when trying to use other equipment like my HP Mixed Reality VR equipment. Unfortunately, poor customer service and eventual buyers remorse for their "higher quality products" have also contributed to my decision. I've also noticed that Razer tends to exaggerate the quality of their products on their product pages. Another issue that I encountered with Razer over the years was their customer service. I found their customer service to be obnoxious, unhelpful and rude at times.

Their headphones provide OK sound quality, I have found that the THX sound experience is not as realistic as Razer makes it out to be. You literally have front of you facing sound and kind of / sort of middle rear facing sound. It's really not as big of a deal as Razer makes it out to be. It's an exaggerated over embleshisment of what it really is.

Don't be fooled by Razer's claims about THX on their heaphones. It's not worth it. I own multiple pairs of Razer headphones and they don't even come close to what I have with Corsair headphones. The bloatware software Razer provides can be tricky to use and never could figure out how to the surround sound effect to exist (I am an avid gamer/computer tech/computer programmer/music lover) but even with all the things I know about computers, I never could manage to get it to work. As far as I was concerend It was just 2 areas of sound (front and rear) -- nothing like real surround sound or whatever they claim THX can do for you.

I still consider Razer to be a producer of quality products. If you're looking to settle for something versus nothing, Razer products could be a good option if the price is right. Razer's unboxing experience is top-notch, and the RGB lights and effects are cool (based on what you buy from them). While I don't hate Razer, I no longer use their products due to the quality of their software, their customer service being garbage and unhelpful, and they tend to exaggerate the quality of their products on their website. If you're in the market for a new product and are looking to settle, Razer products could be a good option. Just be mindful how much you are spending and what kind of expectations you have going into it.

Razer = longer term eventual disappointment once the honeymoon period is over, as far as I'm concerned.

▶️ Alternative Product Recommendation:

If you want to really want an upgrade to your headphones, comfort and sound quality...

Sound quality is low and a clicking noise when I turn the volume up or down

I recently spent almost $4,000 on a custom built PC from scratch . I bought all the parts separate so I could build it myself and customize it to my liking .

The last two things I needed for my setup was a headset and a microphone .

I didn’t know anything about PC headsets before so this was recommended , it was on sale , and I’ve heard of this brand before .

It’s a pretty headset and it fits comfortably .

The sounds quality though is horrendous … Like you can barely hear much I even activated the surround sound on them and tested it with music and gaming and it was so low on full volume and full volume on the headset itself. I’m upset and had hopes it would be a great headset .. I haven’t tested out the microphone yet but based on reviews I’m not counting on it being good so I’ll be investing $100+ on a Logitech microphone .

Sucks they didn’t work out . They’re a pretty pink and super comfortable as mentioned but just not it . I’ll have to invest a good amount in something else and also wireless preferably .

Quality on a budget!!!

I’ve had these headphones for over a month now because I really wanted to try them before, I write a review. I am happy I decided to get these because they have completely enhanced my gaming experience.

These headphones are great and cheap for those who don’t want to spend over $100 for some headphones to game with. For a non-professional gamer more than happy with these headphones. The surround sound lets me know which direction an enemy is coming at me from. This alone has saved me multiple times from attackers from behind me.

The durability of these headphones feels like they can handle a lot. When not in use I just put them away until I’m ready to use them again. They did come with a little dent on the top of the band but did not affect the playability in any way. They also feel comfortable and don’t cause fatigue when playing for long periods of time. I’ve played up to 6 hours in 1 setting and had no problem with the headphones on.

The noise cancelation is good but does not cancel 100% of outside noise. I’d rather have some headphones that let me be emersed in a game but can still hear a little of what’s going on in my surroundings. When playing with others I can hear the game and team members’ voices just fine. I was told by a teammate that they could hear a lot of wind noise, and the only thing around was the ceiling fan on max. It's not a loud fan but I guess the air was enough to be picked up by the mic.

Overall, I’m thrilled with these headphones, I even plan on buying a pair for my son. Also, it may not matter but I’ve used these headphones while playing Elden Ring, Destiny 2, Spider-Man, and Back4Blood so far.

Aesthetically Pleasing and Versatile!

I bought these headphones in a bundle with attachable cat ears. Not only is this the most adorable headset that I've ever had, it's also the highest sound quality that I've experienced from a headset in my 6+ years of gaming. I usually buy Turtlebeach, but since I was building a PC and wanted to go with a pink aesthetic for my setup, I decided to get these since I had heard good things on Reddit. I do not regret my decision! I use this headset for gaming on both Xbox and PC, and also for watching shows and listening to music. This headset goes beyond Plus Ultra against everything I use it for! The versatility that it has is also amazing, you can use it as a regular headphone jack (for playing Xbox, Switch, or even in your phone) or connect it to a separate adapter to use with a PC. The audio is always crisp and clean, bass sounds perfect, and cinematic moments in both video and games are even more cinematic because of the depth that this headset can convey.

The mic quality is also a huge upside of this headset. When gaming with friends in the past I had experienced my mic echoing and just generally being garbage, but I have gotten no complaints about this headset! The mic also can tuck back into the headset so that it's out of the way when I'm not being social.

Overall this headset is a 10/10 for me. It's definitely worth the money, and I think the price is very reasonable.

Perseus

Really like this headset!

I am surprised with how much I like this headset, I think it is very nice and definitely worth the price!

Mine don't feel super "Noise cancelling" but I'm sure it would be if I listened to my stuff a bit louder, as my husband has this same headset but in green and he can only hear me if he takes an ear muff off. (:

I use my headset mainly for gaming and for music, and it is very nice for both! It really is an upgrade from my old headphones.

The microphone is of good quality and I don't have any real complaints about it, though don't expect super clear quality as it is still a headset microphone.

This also comes with a splitter, which is very useful for my desktop, which has split jacks! Both the microphone and headset still work without a stitch with the splitter as well.

Not bad for decent gaming if you're not too demanding

They work just right for gaming but don't get trapped into the cold technology it comes with. It's actually cold and a new sensation but it isn't fully confortable all the time, besides they get considerably warm after a while. If you need some decent headset for gaming and you don't wanna break the bank, they could be a decent option at a good price. Probably a good option for a very first headset.

Good built quality and price, decent sound and microphone, bad noice cancelling and sound tools.

Great Intro to Intermediate Gaming headset! Try it on first for sizing....

I bought these Razer Kraken simply because of a need to replace a gaming headset I haven't been able to retrieve from a storage unit. They look cool, they feel nice and the quality of manufacture is quite nice, I don't have many negative things to say other than the sound quality is average. The mic quality is great and people can usually hear me communicate quite well. If you have a giant dome I suggest you try these on before purchase at a Best buy or something. They can get a bit snug after a few hours. For the price and quality thus headset meets the standard and is a great intro to intermediate headset for a gamer in your life. They aren't superb, but they aren't bad at all and you definitely won't be breaking the piggybank for them. The quality impressed me so much from Razor that I subsequently asked for a Razor Wolverine Tournament edition game controller and that IS a total game changer for serious gamers. So now that I am all in board with Razer brand my occasional gaming has turned into a competitive edge and I have to admit both of these items got me even more in the mood to play lately. #SolidBrandSolidProducts #ThankYOURazer #ThatGamingLife

CUTE AND QUALITY!

Amazing quality for the price I bought for. They’re so cute and match the pink aesthetic I’m going for in my game room! Sound quality is pretty top notch. Everyone says I sound clear on mic so that’s a major plus! I bought when they’re on sale and I’m so happy I did! So cute and so happy with my purchase!

Impression *updated*

About a Year and a half later update (4/30/22): The sound quality is still great and I have no problem wearing them for long hours. No one has problems hearing me on Discord or in games both on Pc or Xbox. The mic is very directional tho, so be aware of that if someone says they have trouble hearing you. The top band has formed more to my head so they aren't as big as they were when I bought them, which is good. They also are more noise cancelling then what I originally gave them credit for. I say get them. But wait maybe until they go on sale, they do often. :)) hope this helps.

***First Impression (11/30/2020): The sound quality is very good. I have a Dell G7 7700 and have run into the problem of some headphones not working with the Alienware but these are great. They are super comfortable to wear for a long time, tho they are kind of on the big side so I would not recommend these for children. The only downside so far has been that they are not noise cancelling. I can hear everything going on around me. This may be because they are little big but still.

Bri

A little quite, But cute!

The headset is OOBER CUTE!!! They are very hefty and cover my entire ears! Super comfortable and cool. My only displeasure is the sound quality when paired to the ps4 is almost quite, but it still has some bass to it! This does come with surround sound download for windows 10 only! I can't wait to get my windows 10 set up on my pc to try it then!

Exactly what I was looking for!

Exactly what I was looking for! A very nice mid tier headset to use while gaming, working, or hanging out with friends online. They lightweight and fit perfectly around my ears. The main reason I wanted to replace my old headset was because they pinched my ears after a few hours of use, but these have been fine for weekend long gaming sessions with no ear pain! I will say though these are far from noise cancelling, but the amount of ambient sound you can hear while using them is what I would expect with open ear headphones so this did not bother me.

The color is beautiful, though I will say it is more of a bubblegum pink than rose quartz in my opinion. As far as the microphone goes I've been told my clarity is much better when talking online with friends, and I really like being able to easily mute myself with the switch on the cable. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase!

Cutest and most comfortable headset I've ever used! ♡

I bought this headset in December when it was marked down to $60, but even for $80 I think the price is worth it. My main problem with headsets is they crush my ears and give me headaches because of the pain they put on my ears so I can typically only wear them for maybe an hour at a time but these I can wear for several hours before I start noticing pressure on my head, they're so comfortable! After I bought them my boyfriend surprised me with the kitty ears for it, which take the cuteness factor up so much more, as if they weren't already cute enough. He also liked mine so much that he just bought himself his own Kraken headset in green over the weekend! It's a great headset. If you're considering getting it, just do yourself a favor and get it. You're gonna love it. ♡

very cute, exactly what I needed!

I decided to finally upgrade from my S/O’s older headset which he kindly donated to me when he upgraded to a razer headset. I found these cuties and was immediately interested. I bought them not even knowing they had cat ear attachments you could purchase separately which razer, you really targeted you audience well because I was absolutely thrilled. It matches my entire battle station to a T and since I already had the rose quartz keyboard I set out to find any accompanying items that might strike my fancy. Yes these are adorable and your girlfriend or boyfriend will love the look. A tip for the cats ears if you have a small head like mine is to place them lower in the band to avoid it looking wonky. Other than that I have been told the mic picks up background noise a bit, but this can be adjusted in game most of the time. I read a review that said the mic was too short, it’s perfect for me but, again, I have a smaller head. I was worried it wouldn’t fit comfortably but it does, that was the biggest win for me honestly. I have always enjoyed razers attention to detail and this simple headset is great. Other than the mic being a little touchy I really love this headset and look forward to using them for years.

Not loud enough need an amplifier for gaming

Definitely not loud enough for multiplayer gaming or gaming in general you would definitely have to get an amplifier to really Hear the full potential of this hadset, my husband has a amplifier for his asteroid

headset and I connected to the amplifier and these headsets were great absolutely perfect I will be buying an amplifier to enhance the sound of these headsets. Comfort is Perfect.. fits over my ear well. Mic quality is great. People said they heard me crystal clear. Sound canceling is awesome as well. Love the style

Comfortable, functional, stylish, and inexpensive.

I decided to get this Kraken headset after getting really tired of using a crappy old turtle beach from my previous Xbox for my PC/Hackintosh. They felt like they cracked the top of my skull open after 2-3hrs of use and my ears were sore. I also wanted a headset with a mic integrated for Zoom and for gaming, rather than using a headset AND the Blue Snowball at the same time, even though the acoustics are amazing on the Snowball.

My thoughts on the Kraken: Is it worth the hype?

I can confirm that this headset DOES live up to the hype and it's not just a brand that ships out crappy equipment for high prices. I can't say the same for some of their other headsets, which have terrible reviews. However, this headset is comfy and functional.

Pros:

-Their earmuff cooling technology actual feels legit...

-The top of the headset doesn't crack your skull

-The mic is retractable, which I LOVE

-The packaging gives a great first impression

-Includes an extension cable with dedicated mic and audio jack, a nice touch for large desks like mine

-Can wear easily for hours on end

Cons:

-The lower volume range with the volume dial, located on the audio cable, absoluley sucks. Not sure if this is just my unit, but as you use the integrated volume dial to go from high to low volume, you'll notice the balance between left and right just randomly shifts. This is surely annoying while gaming to adjust the volume. If you have this issue, I suggest turning the volume all the way to high, then use your keyboard to adjust the volume on the OS side, rather than the hardware side

-The mic is a little finicky with MacOS on my Hackintosh, not sure why but I'll keep working with it.

-The ears are a little bigger than I imagined, but I feel like this may end up saving my ears throughout its life.

-I wish the cable came with an integrated voice-chat/game volume balance feature, similar to Turtle Beach on Xbox. I understand the tournament edition includes this, but not sure if that is worth the $40 premium. A redesign of that stupid USB unit with the tournament edition would make this headset the best, hands down, headset on the market for $60-100.

Summary:

Both pros and cons considered--I love this headset. Of course, it has some flaws, like all things in technology do. Over the next few generations of this headset, I'm sure Razer will introduce some killer features to dominate the gaming market. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a headset that's comfortable, functional, stylish, and inexpensive. With the features included in this headset, there's nothing better out there that $60-70 can buy.

A Good Set of Gaming Headphones

The build quality on these headphones are excellent. They feel incredibly solid, and feel great to wear on the head. The earpads are very soft and comfortable, and I would say the heat dissipation seems to work pretty well, as I never found myself sweating after a long session in these headphones. I also really appreciated the numbered settings for the headband adjustment- if you're packing these up to take with you on the go to LANs or friends' houses, having a number you can remember as your adjustment is pretty nice to have. The ability to tuck the mic away is also pretty good, making it less likely to be damaged in transit. In-line controls are also always a plus, with a volume dial and a mic mute switch available on the cable.

Audio wise these are fairly crisp with a strong but not overpowering bass. The only thing I would say is that the mids seem to be a little bit hollow, but otherwise the bass and treble are well represented in these drivers. For music, this results in a sound that just feels a touch muffled, but in games I never noticed it affecting my ability to pinpoint footsteps or gunfire.

Mic quality is passable, but not exceptional- its good enough for VOIP in games, but certainly not professional streamer kit. The sound is fairly crisp and clear with minimal excess in the bass, but the noise floor is disappointingly a little bit high.

Overall, for the price these are decently competitive headphones for gaming, and very solidly built.
