Looking for a TV remote control in a pinch? Want to have an extra unit to shutdown a TV, DVD unit or VCR (“The VCR; I want the VCR”)? Get the RCA BIG BUTTON UNIVERSAL REMOTE Control.
No leading, bleeding or “I got a second mortgage to get this” technology here, but tried and true IR signaling and what usually you need to manage a TV, DVD/VCR or even a streaming device 'at a distance”. It uses 2 AA batteries that you can find even in a the proverbial (as of late) '$1.25' store. Don't fear pressing a wrong button in the darkness: one 'light bulb' symbol button lights it up enough to see most command buttons.
How rugged is this unit? Most households don't have a family member that breaks into temper tantrums, but if yours do and someone throws it to the floor, this unit can withstand some abuse. “But wait: I believe my remote suffered certain death, breaking into pieces on the floor. I still have all of them, but what can I do?” If you still have all the pieces and they aren't cracked, don't sweat! (See accompanying video by reviewer) Snap it back together and use it again. If it doesn't seem to control your video devices, just enter the codes again and it should work. Codes for this remote are still available from RCA on the web. Of course, if pieces are cracked, sweat! (but not much: it's inexpensive).
Now, I'm a High-Fidelity Stereo audio fan as well and prefer not to have a smart speaker keeping tabs on the music I choose. So, to my dismay, this control doesn't have any audio command selection. Yet, I use it for smaller room TV and works like a champ.
If you are looking for one of these units, hurry-up: this model is near or already out-of-production. My score may have been 4.5 stars, but I have to settle for 4 stars.

A real quality product. I’m very happy 😃
I liked the action of the unit. Buttons very responsive. I would recommend this product. It also linked quickly to my Samsung with no issues
