Great for a good Price!!

Definitely worth the price, the audio is super crisp and I may have just gotten it, but if anything goes wrong I’ll write another review, it’s super easy to set up and the knob goes pretty far up in audio which is great, plus the lighting matches my setup perfectly, it works amazing so far and super enjoyable to listen to music with, it’s super compatible with my PC!

Not worth the money

I purchased these all because I owned a different style of the same brand that just recently stopped work, so I figured I would try these. They do come nicely packaged (I think that what's you're paying for), because the sound quality is absolute junk. They are not loud at all I had to max the volume out on the speakers themselves and have my PC volume at 80% and I still could have a normal conversation without talking loudly. The over all build of the speaker housings looks nice and feels well built, but like I said the sound quality and volume are junk. Money wasted on these...

Looks good sounds decent

I kept my expectations grounded and since this item is USB powered I didn't expect earth shaking sound. It looks nice, gives some nice sound for watching videos and light gaming. Not for audiophiles but you already knew that. I use them in the seperated mode next to a 32" monitor. And you get a headphone and mic port, haven't tried them but it's a plus. The volume dial rotation is "notched" which is kind of cool.

Decent speakers. Annoyances. But they work.

I actually love these speakers. This is what I was looking for, precisely. A little low end, but otherwise perfect.

I wanted simple speakers. As a musician that values real-time sound, I hate the bluetooth delay. I just wanted simple, corded speakers. If I can plug headphones into them, great. Heck, you can plug a mic into these too!

These are perfect. I can put them under my ultrawide, to either sides of the monitor stand. There were some annoyances I fixed with 3d printing some upgrades. Search "redragon" on makerworld and you'll quickly find the caps another person made, and my upgraded volume knob, which is a lifesaver.

That volume knob was my biggest problem. My big clunky fingers couldn't grab that little, slick knob. So I 3D printed out a bigger, better one with a longer knob and a bigger outer knob ring with a textured grip.

Now I love the things. I still kind of hate that I'm stuck with this super bright red ring LED around the knob. Thinking about printing a newer version of the knob with a berm of sorts to cover that red ring LED around the knob. Also thinking about just opening the case of the speaker and disabling that light, electronically.

But that's all the annoyances. Let's talk about the quality.

I have not had any quirks with sound. The jacks and cables are solid, there's no noise or crackling. No shorts. They are just decent sounding speakers. Not great, just absolutely fitting for my needs. I'm no audiophile, I just want simple speakers that work and sound good enough for me. These fit the bill. I like 'em. There's no products I could find with a much higher budget that I liked more. I spent a lot of time looking and decided these would be my speakers for my use case. And I'm happy with that decision.

Sounds great

Sound really good especially for gaming a Little pricey and was already opened

Good Quality

They're good quality. If you have a gaming monitor, they'll be loud, and they're affordable for such good quality.

These speakers look really cool and the sound is just amazing! Although be warned, I got them stuck when I tried to connect them 🥺 they eventually came undone but just be careful when putting them together and please fix this red dragon.

Redragon is adding the fire to my setup!

I got these speakers because they fit the aesthetic of my little gaming/recording studio lol. So far the audio loudness is great, I have to say the sound clarity isn’t amazing but for 25$ I can’t complain, they are loud enough for me to use them at halfway knob mostly in my small space. These were pretty easy to set up with my MSI monitor. I also got them because the size doesn’t take up too much room on my little table, trying for a minimal setup here, just have them slightly behind the monitor. They look pretty cool, a bit flimsy but light, easily rearrangeable & I like that I have the option to use soundbar mode. Also, the LED front only lights up when they’re in use, so if you turn the volume off when they’re plugged in the LED goes away too. It’s not annoying in any way personally

Reliable Budget Speakers That Get the Job Done

I’ve had the Redragon GS550 speakers since 2021, and honestly, no complaints at all. They've survived two different PCs and are still going strong, so the reliability is definitely there.

The sound quality is pretty good, nothing that’s going to blow you away, but perfect for gaming when you don’t feel like wearing headphones, and great for watching videos. The volume knob is super convenient, and the extra headphone and mic ports are a nice bonus. I don’t use them often, but when I do, they come in handy.

For the price, these are a solid buy. If you're on a budget and want dependable speakers that get the job done, I’d definitely recommend them

Great quality and price point!

Great price point and above par quality. I was very surprised when it arrived perfectly. Sound is awesome and you can even separate the speakers and stand them up right! A big fan of Red Dragon products after getting their speakers, key board also shown and gaming mouse to.

Meh for the price you get what you pay for

Left speaker has no sound. Sounds decent at best. Sounds better than how my turn table was originally at least decently loud.

Not as loud but do the job

Could be louder but they get the job done

Computer fan is louder than these speakers.

Video shows speakers at max volume. My computer fan is louder. Cord moving makes speakers crackle. No way this product is worth almost $50. I can buy $10 speakers at Walmart better than these. DO NOT BUY

Good speakers

Good speakers for the price. Have them configured in the soundbar configuration. Had never installed computer speakers before and only thought that you needed to plug them in via USB, but you also have to plug in the 3.5mm audio jacks. Mine didn't come with a instruction manual.

Wouldn't use for games such as Call of Duty, where audio is super important. I don't think they're that good, but I'm not a super knowledgeable audio wizard.

I use them for watching youtube and streams.

Biggest complaint I have is I wish the volume knob stuck out a bit more to grab. Its very low profile for my stubby fingers..

4/5 stars

Small and good for a backup

I bought these with the intention of just using them when I don't wanna use a headset, they're decent but they don't go very loud, I have to have everything maxed to watch videos and hear them clearly when the dishwasher is going in the next room. That being said they look decent, don't take up much room and the ability to go from sound bar to dual speakers is nice. The other downside is a short cord, great if your keep every close terrible is you have your pc more the four feet away

Douglas Korytkowski

They do not go very loud and any bass is minimum but they look amazing.

I use these speakers on my daily setup mainly because they are red and match all my red peripherals. the speakers have great aesthetic but they are lacking when it comes to sound. they don't get very loud i suppose that's what you get with 2 or 3 watt speakers but i have heard other speakers out perform these easily. even when i amp the speakers I don't get much gain in bump bass or loudness. they match my setup so good for me but not good for playing loud music.

This is an update to to my prier review. Since my experience with the GS550 speakers wasn't the greatest in favor of the product I cant say that about Red Dragons customer service. Since review Red Dragon reached out to me in response to my dislikes of the product and supplemented the speakers I had for a whole new set of speakers the GS590. These are the same price range speakers and remind me of the Creative Pebble speakers in the construction of them. The sound quality of the replacement speakers is better then the ones I had but you have to take in concern what you are getting for the price. But what I can say for sure is that Red Dragon has amazing customer care. They value customer opinion greatly and take your experience's into consideration when it comes their product. So I would put a foot forward for then and say that Red Dragon products are worth the buy if you care about aesthetics and customer care if needed.

Reviewing the GS590: pros: they look amazing nice speakers on the front and back of each speaker module, The ability to control the RGB lighting on the back side of the speakers is quiet cool you can set from different modes from progressive color changing to just a solid color to match your style, I believe the one setting changes according to the sound. They are substantially louder then the GS550 but really not that loud again but talk about that later. There are 3 ways to connect, 1 via USB, it has a sound controller I suppose in the little DAC on the line, AUX input, and Bluetooth. Volume on the controller is nice if you use some like that depending on setup. The speakers do have a good amount of bass due to the rear speakers on the modules. there's a headphone jack as well on the line. I really like the USB input feature it frees up for 3.5mm jack. I also am a fan of the way they look they are stylish i like more of a gamer appearance.

Cons: The speakers speak when changing between connection modes I personally am not a fan of vocal responses because you have to hear it every time you tune your computer on and off from sleep. The volume is loud when you are in front of them its enough for one person but away from the speakers it feels muffled a bit, if I would explain it more it doesn't fill the room just isolated to desktop person listening which is fine but not what I would expect from them. I pushed the speakers with a preamplification of 4 amps and really cant get any more room from the speakers at most you probably can pull 1 amp higher then stock. This concludes my review of the GS590 Red Dragon speakers.

Special thanks to Red Dragon Support Erin for being great I look to the future for more product testing.

They're just average

EDIT: Red dragon reached out to me about my review and said they were working with their supplier to remedy to issues I expressed. They refunded me $15 for the trouble I was experiencing. I'm happy to see their customer service department doing good work to try and fix issues their customers are experiencing.

I honestly had high hopes for these speakers. They're just incredibly average. Not a lot of bass, the sound is meh, there just isn't a lot of depth with these speakers. I had a cheap set of pebble speakers that I liked WAY more than these.

I don't hate them, but there's definitely better options out there for the money you'll spend on these.

Great speakers for the price

Yes, as stated there is no bass to the speakers. They have amazing sound though and are insanely loud. Desktop volume at 50 and maybe only have to turn the speaker knob up 20% to have great sound for pc gaming. I use it as the speaker bar and for the price would get again.

Solid buy

It doesn't get loud, but it is much more audible then my monitor speakers.

The sound is nice and crisp for most music (unless it has a ton of bass) and it does YouTube and video pretty well.

The included cables reached my PC easily enough in soundbar configuration but not as 2 individual speakers since the control wires come from the right speaker and my PC is to the left of the desk.

Also it's half decent for games, but not that impressive. Definitely prefer my wireless headset over them while gaming.

It looks a bit stylish, and far exceeds my expectations at the price point. Redragon made a solid product here, and given how well they make gaming mice and keyboards in a budget sector I shouldn't have been surprised.

Great Speakers

The product met our expectations. The sound quality is extremely clear and is connected to an old computer and does wonders.

Better options out there

The setup is fairly simple.

My major complaint is the mess of wires....3 wires and a fourth wire that provides power and audio to the other speaker that you cannot detach. All the wires are fixed to the unit(s). (2) 3.5mm audio inputs for audio and mic. Power wire is a standard USB.

It can put out a loud sound but the quality is not there at all, even on lower volumes. If you're looking for cool looking speakers that just get the job done these are it! If you're someone like me that expects it to sound as good as it looks, you'll be disappointed!

Nick Foster

Pretty darn nice!

These are great little speakers. The red backlighting matches the rest of my redragon products. The sound is good considering their size.
