This camera doesn't charge in full sunlight, doesn't record delivery people walking right in front of it, and doesn't notify you if activity in a timely way. I contacted their "support" about the problems I was having with 4 of the 5 camera I purchased and they gave me the usual "support" run-arounds. 'move the camera so it gets more sunlight' 'adjust the sensitivity so it doesn't record so often' and the best 'just take the camera down and charge it and put it back up'! No kidding. When I told them flat out I was done fooling with all their "support" demands and that their camera is advertised as, "needs only 1 hour of sunlight a day to fully charge", they then started to cooperate and treat me like a customer. Yet, they said I had to pay for shipping and when they get the cameras, if they are in acceptable condition, I would receive a refund! I've had other cameras from Reolink and they work fine. My mistake was buying 5 of the solar cameras without testing one first.

I understand why this isn't compatible with NVR recording out of the box, most battery oprerating ones won't. But I wish I had the option at least. Setup, even for an app, is really simple and quick and easy to connec tot wifi and once connected gives a good quality recording whether through the app or using the micro sd expansion. I do like that I am not equired to use an SD card like some force.

The picture quality is ok unless you try to zoom in during a live view. Then it gets a bit blurry. It doesn’t always alert nor does it record when motion is detected. When I tried to live record it ended up on my phone rather than the SD card. Sometimes when connecting live, it has lines in the picture. Doesn’t seem to charge well with the solar panel either. It stays around 70%.

I mounted this camera to a utility trailer that is more of a yard ornament. It's pointed to watch our farm stand and works well to alert us when someone visits the stand. The battery has stayed full since I installed it. Setup was quick and easy. I have other Reolink cameras and this was just as easy to operate. I would recommend for any hard to reach security needs.

Review: REOLINK Security Cameras Wireless Outdoor, 3K 5MP Dual-Band 2.4/5GHz WiFi 6, Person/Vehicle/Animal Smart AI Detection, IP67, max. 512G Local Storage, Smart Alerts, No Subscription, Argus Solar
Big fan of Reolink. They are super easy to set up and user friendly. For the non-tech savvy people, you can’t go wrong with them.
Set up is quick, like really quick.
The app just works. No crashing. No lagging, just a well built app.
The video quality is clear and crisp.
I am using this at work where I need monitor a parking deck but does not have a network line. Until I run a conduit and network drop, this camera will do the job. The solar charges the battery and keeps it online.
It has rained a few times and so far I have not had any issues with it going offline. Seems to last without a lot of sun too which is good.
For the price of the camera and not having to run any lines for power or network, this is a solid purchase. 5 stars.

Effortlessly configures with the Reolink app. I used the Android version. Up and running in a minute after launching. The app allows easy browsing, viewing and downloading of recordings. Notifications can be set up for various alerts with configurable sensitivity. The app also allows live viewing.
Picture quality is excellent, though perhaps a little short of what I expect for 5MP. View angle is a mild wide angle.
Unlike most solar cameras, this is an all-in-one unit. No need to mount the solar panel separately and it avoids the cable that squirrels find irresistible. This does however mean the top of the camera has to be somewhere that's going to get sunlight, not necessarily direct, but not in deep shade either.
A powerful IR illuminator provides a monochrome picture at night with good range. Alternatively, there's a white light that provide full color illumination. The white light can be set to activate only when objects are detected (person, vehicle, animal.) Both light sources can be turned off if desired.
Since this is intended for intermittent, solar/battery use, it does not support RTSP streaming etc. nor does it have an HTTP interface.
When in standby, a PIR motion sensor will wake it up. This saves battery compared to relying on vision to detect motion. I found the motion detection to be sensitive and reliable with the default sensitivity, though it is adjustable.
Recording is via a micro-SD card, not included. Unlike other companies, Reolink does not lock you into cloud recording, though there is a cloud option (not tested.)
The micro-SD card, as well as a power button, are behind a silicone panel on the bottom.
This camera is compatible with the Home Hub and Home Hub Pro. After initial testing standalone I moved the camera over to a Home Hub which was as simple as having the Home Hub adopt it since it was already set up. That provides recording backups and consolidated activity viewing.
Installation is via a small adjustable bracket that mounts to either a vertical or horizontal surface (or anywhere in between) via included screws and anchors. The camera then screws to that mount for a neat and compact installation. The rear mounting hole is a standard 1/4" thread so can fit any camera mount or tripod.
This camera has a generous rechargeable battery. A full charge lasts well over a week infrequent activation. The battery can be charged via a USB-C socket if not exposed to light or if you prefer a powered installation. A USB-A to weather resistant USB-C cable is included and you can use pretty much any USB power source. (5V at up to 1mA.) USB PD is triggered, so you can use a USB-C power supply with a USB-C to USB-C cable.
Connectivity is via WiFi, both 2.4GHz and 5GHz, WiFi 6 1x1.
Overall an excellent, versatile camera suitable for both outdoor and indoor use.

I had already gotten a couple of Reolink's 4G solar cameras, and have been satisfied with them, so I got this because I wanted to try one of their wifi cameras too. Setup was straight forward and easy to do, especially since I already had the app installed. The mount is also simple and easy to install, much more convenient to install than my Ring cameras since the Reolink's solar panel is integrated. The design of this Reolink is actually very similar to 4 Eufy cameras I used to use and liked the design of (though all 4 of those Eufy's eventually took in water and stopped working, so I'll never buy another Eufy!). I'm hoping this Reolink will not have that problem. The connectivity, field of view, and night vision have all been decent, though I have a few critiques. They advertise it as being 3K 5MP, but the video quality doesn't look any better than my 1080p Wyze cams (which are much cheaper). Also, for the price ($129.99 at time of ordering), I think this should have included some internal storage, especially considering the cost of microSD cards nowadays. Overall, I think it's a decent camera so far, but I think $130 is an over inflated price. By the way, in the US, Vine items are NOT free... we have to pay income taxes on the price at time of ordering, so price does matter.

The REOLINK Argus Solar Camera is an impressive wireless security solution that combines excellent image quality, smart features, and easy installation. The 3K 5MP resolution delivers sharp, detailed video, making it easy to identify people, vehicles, and other activity around the property. Daytime footage is crisp, and the night vision performance is equally impressive. One of the standout features is the solar-powered design. Once installed, the included solar panel helps keep the battery charged, significantly reducing maintenance and eliminating the hassle of frequent recharging. The dual-band 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi 6 connectivity provides a stable, reliable connection with fast access to live views and recordings. The AI detection works very well, accurately distinguishing between people, vehicles, and animals, which helps reduce unnecessary alerts. I also appreciate that there are no mandatory subscription fees, thanks to the local storage option. The instant smart notifications are helpful and keep you informed without being overwhelming. The IP67 weatherproof rating gives confidence that the camera can handle rain, snow, heat, and other outdoor conditions year-round.
Overall, this is a feature-packed, reliable security camera that offers excellent performance, flexible installation, and outstanding value without ongoing subscription costs.

I own MANY Reolink security cameras, originally choosing them for image quality, PTZ and POE capability. One of the things I've grown used to with my cameras is they're quite large. This will be my first venture into a stationary solar camera and I'm pleasantly surprised. Having installed solar powered cameras from Ring and Tapo that usually require special bracketry for the panel, this little guy has it integrated, and I'm thrilled about that. At barely 5" long it's smaller than most, if not all, solar powered systems. Overall, another awesome product from Reolink, Can't wait to try more! Good stuff!
